[Touch-packages] [Bug 1764965] Re: [Realtek ALC1220 ASUS PRIME X370] Recording is very slow and plays 10x faster
I have the same problem and my board is MSI X370 Pro Carbon, (same ALC1220 Chipset). Tried Kubuntu 18.04 and Ubuntu 18.04. Recording with audacity also slow to the extreme. I changed sample rate in audacity to 51 or 52 Hz as a temporary workaround, but the sound is very noisy. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1764965 Title: [Realtek ALC1220 ASUS PRIME X370] Recording is very slow and plays 10x faster Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Recording applications (audacity, arecord, gnome-sound-recorder) record extremely slowly (at what seems to be 0,1x speed), which means that at playback the sound is played at a very high pitch and much faster than the original. To help you understand the issue, I've attached an archive containing two files recorded at the same time, one with arecord -f cd and the other with a stand-alone Olympus recorder. A video of Audacity's behavior when trying to record is also available: https://youtu.be/Fe20eQNvZVA Look at the seconds hand of the xclock and how much it is moving before Audacity is done recording one second of audio. Things I've already tried: * Purging and reinstalling Audacity * Purging and reinstalling Pulseaudio following the guide on the Ubuntu Wiki * Running audacity with this command: Exec=env PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 audacity as suggested on AskUbuntu * Reinstalling Ubuntu on a new hard disk * Running audacity on a live CD (in Ubuntu version 16.04.3, 17.10.1, 18.04 daily and Xubuntu 17.10.1, 18.04) The machine is a Ryzen 5 1600 with an ASUS X370 Prime motherboard. The problem can be reproduced as follows: * Boot a live DVD of Ubuntu/Xubuntu 16.04.3, 17.10.1, 18.04 (versions I've tested with) * Install audacity via the terminal * Start recording, microphone is connected to the rear microphone jack. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1786625] Re: "find" command throws nonsense error message
It's funny that when creating the bug report there was a choice for the package to report against: - linux - I don't know. I chose "I don't know", but it has been assigned to linux allthesame. Brilliant. ** Also affects: findutils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** No longer affects: linux (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to findutils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1786625 Title: "find" command throws nonsense error message Status in findutils package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Steps to reproduce: 1. Run this command from a terminal: $ find . -name *.txt Expected result: It should list all the files found in the current directory or any descendant directory whose name ends in ".txt". It may or may not find matching files, depending on whether there are or there aren't. If there's something wrong in my command, then it should ALWAYS consistently issue a sensible error message explaining what's wrong with my command, and that should happen regardless of the contents of the current directory. Observed results: If there are no .txt files to be found, it behaves as expected (i.e., no results, no error message). If there are files ending in .txt, sometimes it behaves as expected, showing the results. If, however, there are files ending in ".txt" with dashes ("-") or spaces (" ") in the filename, AND there is more than one file that matches the criteria, then it displays this completely nonsensical error message: find: paths must precede expression: .txt Usage: find [-H] [-L] [-P] [-Olevel] [-D help|tree|search|stat|rates|opt|exec|time] [path...] [expression] where "X.txt" is an actual filename of a matching file. For example, this will reproduce the issue: $ echo "lalala" > aaa.txt $ echo "lololo" > foo-bar.txt $ find . -name *.txt find: paths must precede expression: foo-bar.txt Usage: find [-H] [-L] [-P] [-Olevel] [-D help|tree|search|stat|rates|opt|exec|time] [path...] [expression] ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: linux-image-4.4.0-131-generic 4.4.0-131.157 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-131.157-generic 4.4.134 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-131-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_uvm nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.18 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: teo2898 F pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Sat Aug 11 17:30:54 2018 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=ff7e702a-a05a-47fd-8c14-551e81f9e9e3 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-10-11 (1764 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Release amd64 (20130424) MachineType: Acer Aspire V3-571G ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-4.4.0-131-generic.efi.signed root=UUID=5830b30e-69e8-4bb4-8a2b-bc2b43c7414a ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-4.4.0-131-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-4.4.0-131-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.157.20 SourcePackage: linux UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 10/15/2012 dmi.bios.vendor: Acer dmi.bios.version: V2.07 dmi.board.asset.tag: Type2 - Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: VA50_HC_CR dmi.board.vendor: Acer dmi.board.version: Type2 - Board Version dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: Acer dmi.chassis.version: V2.07 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAcer:bvrV2.07:bd10/15/2012:svnAcer:pnAspireV3-571G:pvrV2.07:rvnAcer:rnVA50_HC_CR:rvrType2-BoardVersion:cvnAcer:ct10:cvrV2.07: dmi.product.name: Aspire V3-571G dmi.product.version: V2.07 dmi.sys.vendor: Acer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/findutils/+bug/1786625/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Have a great day! :) G Closed per reporter’s feedback. ** Changed in: cups (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to cups in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1129941 Title: Ubuntu cups printer on Ricoh MP C2501 non-stop multiple copy printing Status in cups package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: I just made a two-copy print in Ubuntu 12.04 using Libreoffice and a pdf document in document viewer on the Ricoh MP C2501 connected to our local network and there were no problems. However, since upgrading to Ubuntu 12.10, in the last month or so, if more than one copy of a document is specified in, for example Libreoffice, document viewer, the Gimp or any other software, the Ricoh MP C2501 does not stop printing even when it reaches the number of copies specified. In other words, if two copies are specified, the printing will not stop until the printer is forcibly shut down. This happens in multiple versions of Ubuntu 12.10, that is, including Lubuntu 12.10 and Linux Mint 14. I suspect the latest version of cups because when Ubuntu 12.10 was initially installed there were no problems with multiple-copy printing. Non-stop printing of mulitple copies appeared only in the last month or so --- at most two months. There is no problem with single-copy printing. I just finished testing with Ubuntu 12.04 and there is no problem. Please look into this. Thanks. Setting 'Option "NoAccel" "True"' in xorg.conf did not helped. Reducing the color depth 'DefaultDepth 16' kind of helped. With the original install a few months back I think the installer picked "fbdevhw" as the driver and generally the display was good resolution. However, the log in screen had issues with low resolution background image, so I filed a bug report launchpad #1541082. A few days ago someone actually tried to help troubleshoot the problem and suggested that for my video card, the ATI Rage 128 Pro card, the driver should be "r128" . . . unfortunately after I installed that driver "X" was gone. I am able to get to a TTY to do stuff, but, as of today I haven't had a chance to get an xorg.conf file set up to see if I can change the driver to something else . . . just reporting the problem that occurred with r128. Appended two patches from Alessandro Pignotti originally posted on the Ubuntu Bugzilla. They may or may not still be valid. According to Alessandro's words, "They should be considered hacks to make the problem more clear." Trying to attract some attention to this bug because I face it on a regular basis playing Lord of the Rings Online on Wine still after 5 years a patch has been proposed. I'm a bit experienced in programming but only in Pascal and Python so I'm trying to find someone more experienced who could possibly fix it. You're welcome. Pleased to be able to assist with the development of Linux. Thank you for your help. Thanks. [Touch-packages] [Bug 1785475] Re: Scrolling in files gives display isues
The bug *seemingly* affects three people: the reporter (you), one person who was clearly a fake, and one other person "confirmed" it by clicking that he/she is affected too. But an anonymous person whom I can't ask questions doesn't count as confirmation for me. And most likely that anonymous person is a sockpuppet too, because confirming a report so soon after it was filed... As I said: run 'stty size' on your terminal, and paste the output. When setting LANG=C, I still cannot reproduce the effect that you see. What did you change LANG into to "fix" the problem? So... in fact there is no problem? It was just an anomaly in your setup, as I suspected? You saw the effect on new installs of Ubuntu 18.04 server. Can you make a fresh install (on a random, free partition) and take note of the choices that you make? So that I stand a chance of reproducing your environment. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to nano in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1785475 Title: Scrolling in files gives display isues Status in nano package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: By scrolling down a file the layout is screwd up. example i scrole in zone file of dns server i get this : dhcpIN NS ns1 dhcpIN NS ns2 dhcp IN NS every cns3 dhcp IN NSfresh (ns4urs) vpn IN NSxpirens1 vpn IN NSnimum (ns2urs) vpn IN NS ns3 vpn me servers IN NS ns4 But i realy looks like this : dhcpIN NS ns1 dhcpIN NS ns2 dhcpIN NS ns3 dhcpIN NS ns4 vpn IN NS ns1 vpn IN NS ns2 vpn IN NS ns3 vpn IN NS ns4 When i edit and save everyting is stored correctly but on display it's wrong. Re: [Touch-packages] [Bug 1127469] Re: error when uninstalled "Reactivate HP LaserJet 1018/1020 after reloading paper" in ubuntu software center
I'm sorry. While I still have the printer it's not in use any more. I no longer have the VAIO laptop I got the error on. It had many many issues with running Linux so I completely gave up on it. fre. d. 10. aug. 2018 23.55 skrev gf <1127...@bugs.launchpad.net>: > Hello Nichlas, > Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with cups.
