[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 968218] Re: ssh x11 forwarding precise to oneiric causes glibc malloc(): memory corruption
Note, I see this bug between my Natty too... between my Natty netbook and my Gentoo desktop (once the X server upgraded to 1.12.99, and still with 1.13.0. Not sure why, because this computer just has a mouse and keyboard, no touch screen or touchpad to provide exciting new XInput events.) Installing libxi6_1.4.3-3ubuntu1.1_i386.deb from Oneiric-updates works fine (no dependency problems and fixes the bug.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libxi in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/968218 Title: ssh x11 forwarding precise to oneiric causes glibc malloc(): memory corruption To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libxi/+bug/968218/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1059276] Re: Wine locks up when running multithreaded applications that touch both OpenGL and X11
** Description changed: [IMPACT] Wine needs an update to libxcb to include upstream commit 23911a707b8845bff52cd7853fc5d59fb0823cef. This commit fixes an issue where multithreaded applications lock up when they use both OpenGL and X11. This is being hit with a number of popular games on both quantal and precise. [TESTCASE 1 - No wine required] 1) download https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=67051 2) compile and run: --- gcc -o test t.c -lxcb -lpthread; ./test 3) When broken (without the patch) you'll just see "o" repeating over and over, when working properly (with the patch) you'll see both "o" and "x" appearing in the output. [TESTCASE 2 - Wine required] 1) download http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=41417 and extract it 2) run wine graphics.exe and watch for it to get hung. - 3) It should fade out or be hung on a green screen soon after launch without the fix. + 3) It should fade out or be hung on a green screen soon after launch without the fix. [Regression Potential] - This patch is in the upstream libxcb repository and will be in libxcb - 1.8.2 when it releases. + This patch is in the stable libxcb 1.9 which was just released last + week. There has been no known fallout from it being in quantal for 2 + weeks. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libxcb in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1059276 Title: Wine locks up when running multithreaded applications that touch both OpenGL and X11 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/libxcb/+bug/1059276/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1064878] Re: After X update, tty7 is very glitchy
I think I've found what triggers this behaviour: I have a line in /etc/rc.local to set my initial brightness to a certain point. I believe the last update to either X or LightDM causes a race condition which triggers this bug. I have now added 'sleep 2' as the first line in /etc/rc.local, and everything seems to be normal again. Still, it might be worth looking into, as I'm most likely not the only one with such a startup script. ** Attachment added: "apport.xorg.Q2aTHn.apport" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1064878/+attachment/3392419/+files/apport.xorg.Q2aTHn.apport -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1064878 Title: After X update, tty7 is very glitchy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1064878/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1064979] [NEW] Mouse cursor teleports between two different locations
Public bug reported: Using newest Quantal the mouse cursor started behaving strangely. When I move the mouse, the cursor jumps back and forth between two locations, which can up to a centimeter apart. Both cursor locations move according to mouse motion. If I push the cursors to the top left corner, they overlap. However in use they start to slowly drift apart again. This is not a rendering bug. The cursor actually moves. This can be verified like this: Suppose the two mouse locations are A and B and there are application two buttons called 1 and 2. These buttons are separate, they have some space (or another widget) between them. Then one moves the cursor so location A is over button 1 and location B is over button 2. Moving the mouse even a tiny distance makes the cursor jump between these two locations randomly. When location A is active, pressing the mouse button activates button 1. Correspondingly location B activates button 2. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1064898] [NEW] No windows management
Public bug reported: Hi, I have no windows management with Gnome Classic. I can't minimize or close the windows (I have no signs for this). Also alt+tab doesn't work. I re-installed metacity, gnome-shell and gnome-fallback-session. Now, I know there was a bug report concerning this issue here https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1053288 But my Bamf is already 0.3.2 and I'm still experiencing such issues (And of course I have the latest updates) and everything works fine with Unity. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1064878] [NEW] After X update, tty7 is very glitchy
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Since last night's updates, automatically logging in with LightDM causes the screen to be blank with only a cursor shown. The desktop does appear to be rendered on the background, because moving icons and clicking menus (after guessing where they are) does work. The only way to get things normal again is by restarting the lightdm service. It doesn't seem to happen every time, but it does happen a lot. I have also noticed that when manually logging in, the dmesg output on tty7 sometimes blends in with the desktop; for instance, a black box with a blinking cursor is shown, or when plugging in a USB thumb drive, the output from 'mount' will be displayed, until I move my cursor over that area. I'm running fully up-to-date Xubuntu 12.10 (no proposed packages though) on a laptop with Intel graphics (xserver-xorg-video-intel driver).
