Both avalon-excalibur and jmeter are being removed from testing because of
this bug. The jmeter package should make it back into testing by itself
once this bug is resolved.

I have the same issue. I am not sure if this was triggered by me
upgrading to kernel-image-2.6.8-686 or it was cuased by some earlier
