i have the same problem, i fix it adding i8042.nomux=1 i8042.reset to

2. Reboot and log in to Ubuntu
3. Open firefox and browse to http://google.com/chrome;
Expected outcome:
Page loads and is viewable
Actual outcome:
Page loads, but then the whole system freexes. Upon moving the mouse
The bug is with Firefox, but it still seems to possibly be a system bug.
