This not really a reply to the OP, but there are full fledged computers
that are built for use in places like cars, and which support LMS. The
FitPC line, for instance, is the size of a cigarette pack, no moving
parts (except the hd) and is widely used in robotics and, yes,
vehicles. Also more co

Does the car have iPod integration? Our cars (2010 Volvo XC 70 and 2012
Volvo S60) have a usb port which can accept an iPod or a usb storage
device (thumb drive, etc).
The usb storage capability is much like what you've said you have in
your car. The iPod integration though uses the tags and

I just bought a 2010 Mercedes Benz. The multimedia system in the car
has a PCMCIA slot which will take a 32GB card with an adapter. The

Several years?! Try a little less than two (released April 2010, see

Go for Touch now, this is a good pick. Every new SB annoucement get
leaked on this forum, so I can bet there is no plan for any Touch HW
refresh in the next six month. The only news is that Logitech will not
drop the ball and that next product might strongly contain speakers

I can also add my voice here, SB just changed my life six years ago. I

Why from Linn? ...sounds much more Sonos like but in a black flat

Very strange claim about 24bits HD audio ...but nothing about sample
rate, might be not
After I upgraded from SBS to LMS, I had to redo my settings. In doing
so, in the album menu, only the album title shows, not the title and
artist name like it always has before. I am sure this is an easy fix,
but I don't seem to be able to find the way. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hi gd11_be,
I'll be trying to look into it again, but it will be very difficult to
debug, as I cannot reproduce it here.
Basically what happens is the following:
the server sends a pause command which I hand over to your iPad. In the
same instant the server also sends the command to set the v
Yes, a little bit more effort on product and then promotion and Squeeze
could easily have had all the Sonos space.

I love these products. I own 3 SB3s and a Transporter. I will soon be
buying a Touch and will certainly be excited by any new products.
Please do not drop these products (I can't imagine you would, but many
on the forums are nervous).

I'm curious as I've read different things about the Linn approach (and

One possible alternative is the Linn DS system; even their least
expensive equipment is higher than SB but they do function in many ways
that are similar, including hi rez FLAC. Given the concerns about SB
longevity I have bought a couple of Linn Boxes and they work great, I

The catch-22 here is that logitech doesn't announce future new products.

Well, I understand your argument, but the thing is the Touch has been in

to assume that Logitech is gonna introduce a new Squeezebox in a near
future. My friend just doesn't want to buy Touch 1 today and feel
cheated a week l

What is the firmware version of on SB2 ?
If it is 40 then you have a SB1 and not SB2 - the physical differences
are small as they use same case.

My friend is thinking of buying a Touch, but he still hesitates because
it has been several years since Touch was released. Anybody have any

Aren't the SB2 and Classic basically the exact same hardware in a
different form factor, using the same firmware?
If that is the case, and one works but the other doesn't, that sounds
like like some kind of device failure - perhaps a factory reset or
Xilinx reset will fix it.
