Thanks very much, Frank. I didn't quite understand the difference between
gnc-fq-dump and gnc-fq-helper. My data retrieval method name contained digits
and gnc-fq-helper did not allow them. I changed the method name to contain
letters only and it works fine now.

gnc-fq-dump worked fine, but gnc-fq-helper (method "symbol")
didn't. Noticed the following comment in the parse_input_line method of

But you can’t use the ‘delete split’ option in the right-click menu, sorry if I

If you delete every data element in the anchor split, and TAB of the end, the
split will be deleted, and the transaction will disappear from the register.
I've been using this technique for years to clear out the Imbalance-USD account
when items appear there.

David,
GnuCash can show you the balance of a parent account as two different things on
reports and in the CoA:
1. Actual balance of the account (sum of debits and credits in that one account)
2. The sum of the balances of each of the child accounts (what Derek called
‘roll-up’)

One small correction - there should be a line break in the following statement:

This may or may not make a difference performance-wise, and you may not prefer
the result, but there is no rule that a transaction be limited to only 2 splits.
That is, if each real-world transaction affects more than two accounts, even if
they could be separated, you can certainly combine them

I think that the account register view will show that when it is sorted in

that in your top level accounts. Where you won't see it is in mixed

Hi,

Hello Julian,
AFAIK there is currently no module to do it automatically in
finance-quote. So you have to do it manually:
1. go to e.g.
https://info.tase.co.il/eng/MarketData/Stocks/MarketData/Pages/MarketData.aspx
and download the csv file. There is a button "Export Table Data" at
the bottom.
2.
