I tried the FX approach with using a SVG as throbber but I see on my system no
difference to the PNG throbber with 2% CPU.

After upgrading to the recent 9.0.5 or 9.1.1 PostgreSQL backport packages,
'psql' prints a warning to stderr before starting:
DEB_HOST_MULTIARCH is not a supported variable name at
/usr/bin/dpkg-architecture line 214.
Everything still works, but it's just annoying.

[lucid] ubiquity/partman creates a partition table that cfdisk cannot read
So if cfdisk cannot read a partition table that's 1MiB-aligned, then
surely it's a cfdisk bug, not the installer?
This also explains why cfdisk fails with disks formatted in Windows
Vista.

I have the same problem with the Intel Corporation 82865G Integrated Graphics
Controller (rev 02) and Ubuntu10.04.
I could boot from LiveCD with i915.modeset=0 and install it afterwards but it
isn't working that well with the ressolution.

Indeed, that package fixes the file descriptor leak.
By "crashing" I meant running out of file descriptors in the manner
