Re: [AI] Uber-Highlight accessibility issues

2023-02-28 Thread Pratham Kumar Singh
Dear list members,

This call issue is one thing , uber has lots of issues in their  iOS app;
from where to start to where to end.
Some issues , I will try to highlight :

1. If by mistake you gets enter into "split fare" section, during your trip
then, from returning back is just impossible. For that you have to close
the app.
2. This call issue was there since , I have started using iPhone, but
earlier we can do the calling indirectly by going into message section &
their in the top left corner there was a call button through which we can
able to call our driver earlier ; but the button still exist in that
message section , but it is useless now.
3. If , we talk about "share trip status" , so if anyone is using personal
uber profile then there is no option of sharing trip link ; but , if anyone
is using uber business profile then you will get that option. earlier this
option was there for uber personal profiles also.
4. If, talking more about this "share trip status" , so when clicking on
this option we have to wait for some seconds , while this entire section
appears , if anyone mistakely click & tries directly to jump on the options
, then he / she will not get anything like this call option. It was not the
case in android.

I have tried my best to highlight some accessibility bugs in uber uber ios
app.
If anybody wants to highlight more , apart from it, they are most welcome.
According to me, Uber should conduct a complete accessibility audit of
their IOS app.

Well,
Without indulging in the cacophony of government vs private, I would
just say that Air India is still providing fifty percent concession to

Re: [AI] Uber-Highlight accessibility issues

2023-02-28 Thread Avichal Bhatnagar
Till the time the call issue doesn't get fixed on IOS, I have found a
trick to get around the issue:
After tapping the call button, scroll to the option of your driver.
once the driver profile opens, hit the back button, then call option appears.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Avichal

In a remarkable move, the Supreme Court of India last week invited
persons with disabilities and other stakeholders to answer an online
questionnaire about the level of accessibility in the Court premises,
website, documents and case proceedings. The Court has also solicited
input on how to ensure comprehensive and holistic end-to-end
accessibility. This represents a timely opportunity for the disability
sector, not only to have a say in removing barriers to access in the
Supreme Court, but also to influence adoption of accessibility measures
in courts throughout the country.

[AI] AI: few doubts regarding PWD certificate and Form V under RPWD act 2016

2023-02-28 Thread pavan kallem
Dear Access Indians,
I hope this email finds you all well. My name is Pavan Kallem, and I
am reaching out to you with a few doubts regarding disability
certificates issued before the enactment of the RPWD Act.
Firstly, I was wondering if any of you know if the permanent
certificates, such as SADERAM in Andhra Pradesh, are still being
accepted in government recruitment processes. I have been unable to
find any concrete information on this, and I would be grateful if any
of you have any knowledge regarding this matter.
Secondly, I have been facing some difficulty in obtaining Form V under
RPWD rules. Some hospitals have been refusing to sign the form, as
they believe that my permanent certificate is already valid across the
country. I am unsure of what course of action to take in such a
scenario, and would appreciate any advice you may have on this matter.
Lastly, I was hoping to hear about your experiences with recruiting
agencies and Form V. Were you able to continue in employment without
the form, or did you face any challenges in this regard? I would be
grateful for any insights or advice that you could provide.
I must confess that I am feeling a little emotional writing this
email. As some of you may already know, in Telangana, it has become
increasingly difficult for individuals born with disabilities to
obtain new certificates, as their disability assessments are already
maintained in an online platformI am sure many of you have faced
similar challenges, and I would be grateful to hear about how you
managed to overcome them.
Thank you for taking the time to read my email, and I hope to hear
from you soon.
Warm regards,
Pavan Kallem
