Even though, i just contacted through phone, their response is very pleasing. Here, I thank everyone from Sarthak for their support. And also, I request all the people who are looking for employment to register with Sarthak. You will definitely get benefited. In the recent past, I also came to know about Enable India. Re: [AI] Advanced computer training at Jogeshwari, Mumbai
Hello Tanya, I'm Mahesh Kumar, from Anantapur, Hyderabad. I saw this advertisement and I'm in dilemma whether to join this training or not. I completed my B.tech in Mechanical Engineering from JNT University in this very year. I came to know that candidates are trained in soft skills, communication skills and basic IT/corporate requirements. Is that true? Honestly, I feel I'm good at all the above mentioned skills. I have working knowledge in C and C++ also. So, I'm unable to decide whether this program is suitable for me or not. It would be beneficial for me if there is training in advanced computer languages like C++ , java etc.. Coming to my vision status, I'm 40% visually impaired. I have RP. As of now, I don't use a screen reader, I use magnifiers to read the screen. In this regard, I request you to go through the details once and suggest me whether the training is beneficial for me or not. Vamshi sir told to contact you for better help. Hoping a quick reply from you. By the way, Happy Diwali to you and your family. Hi, you can do the following to delete all your e-mails in Gmail: 1. Login to your gmail account using Internet explorer (I don't know about other browsers; firefox gives a lot of annoying alerts that are neither Pleasant nor necessary to listen). 2. Switch to the standard view if you are using the Basic HTML view. 3. Go to the place where you find your mails (you can press the t key once I think to get there; it goes to the first table). 4. Arrow upward until you hear something like Select: All, None, Read, Unread, Starred, Unstarred (note: JAWS wont inform you of it being a link; pressing the enter key on all should select the mails in the current page, and when you go down, you will find a link that says something like Select all x conversations in Inbox, on which if you click, all the mails in your inbox will get selected, below which you should find something like All x conversations in Inbox are selected; where x is the number of e-mails in your inbox). 5. Go to the delete button pressing b and press enter. Sorry if this is too long-this is an old set of instructions I pulled up from the mail archives I'd given someone else earlier. Re: [AI] About password
Hi Neelima, If you are using Gmail, then, you have two options to access your account when you forget your password. First: You should update a Secondary email address and mobile number. When you don't remember your password, then if you click on forgot my password button, a link will be sent to your secondary email address. By clicking on that link, you will be asked to choose a new password. Second: Recently, Gmail started sending a code through SMS to the Mobile number and by entering that code, you will be redirected to Choose new password page. To update secondary email address and mobile number, go to Google Account Settings under settings Hope this helps ;) Voice your thoughts in the blog to discuss the Rights of persons with disability bill at: http://www.accessindia.org.in/harish/blog.htm To unsubscribe send a message to accessindia-requ...@accessindia.org.in with the subject unsubscribe. [AI] Clarification regardi9ng eligiblity criteria in Bank Of India PO exam
Dear Friends, Recently i came across Notification for the recruitment of Bank of India Probationary Officers. I'm unable to understand the eligibility conditions for visually Challenged It is given in the notification that below are the conditions to be satisfied to consider as visually Challenged: i*i) Visually Challenged (VC) Blindness refers to a person who suffers from either of the following conditions: (a) Total absence of sight. (b) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses, Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or worse and so certified by a Medical Board appointed by the State Government. (c) A person with Low Vision means one with impairment of visual functioning even after treatment of standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning or execution of a task with appropriate assisting device. * In my medical certificate issued by AP medical board, it is mentioned that my VIsion Acuity is Right eye: 6/60Left eye : 6/36 and Disability Percentage : 40% According to the point (b) in the notification, As left eye is the better eye for me and Vision acuity in that eye is 6/36, Am i not eligible for the reservation under Visually Challenged? I'm afraid Please Let me know the actual meaning of that line and Please tell me whether i'm eligilbe or not When i tried to fill the application online, there are two options under the column* Percentage of disability* one is 40% and the other is above 40% I'm totally confused Please help me out friends... Re: [AI] Quarries about writer in Bank exams
Hello sir, Not only for the bank exams, the same rules apply for all the central govt., jobs. I too oppose those rules. I attempted Vizag steel plant exam in last month. I came to know about these rules only two days before the exam. I found it so difficult to find a writer with those rules. especially the rule that he should possess an aggregate below 60% is so sad.. We can very hardly find such type of candidates now-a-days.Even though I found one person on that day but i was really disapponted by him as he was not able to read the questions clearly and fastly because of which i was unable to answer many questions which were familiar to me. Otherwise, i would have answered many questions. This is a serious issue and has to be solved. I'm really scared of writing other exams now. Though I'm capable of writing those exams, I may not perform to my best because of this rule. In that case, the provision of PWD reservation is of no use. Please let me know to whom should this matter has to be reported. Sorry for the late reply. I didnt observe this message. [AI] Introduction - new member.
Dear Friends, First-of-all, I feel very very happy to know about this mailing list. I gained lot of confidence just by reading all the mails i got from last ten days. And still, I'm growing in confidence now. I thank the list moderator and organizer of the list for this great work. I think many people like me are getting benefited through this one. Let me introduce to all of you. I'm Mahesh Kumar, completed my B. tech degree in Mechanical Engineering in May 2010. I came to know about my Visual impairement and RP just three years ago. Luckily or Unluckily, my vision has not spolied to great extent and i used to read the paper with naked eye but with some difficulty. Now also, I have same condition. Only few of my friends know about my condition Till that time, i used to perform very well in my academics and i used to be in the list of first three members in my class. But when i came to know about this disability, i was depressed to a great extent, As my parents are not much educated and as i live in a small town, I was unable to know the opportunities for the V.I candidates. But from past one year, I'm coming to know about the facilities and technologies which help us to perform equally as the others, I feel that i made a blunder by feeling depressed. Because of which, my percentage in graduation has been dropped to 75% where it is 90% in my 10th and 96% in my 10+2. I managed to study the last two years of my graduation with the help of my friends. You may feel this one silly... i didnt even attended the campus placements conducted in my college. I was so stupid at that time. However, past is past. Now, I came to know that we can find opportunities in many places. I feel so glad to hear that. But now, i'm confused of choosing the below two fields: 1. I'm interested in getting in to IT sector as the job is to be done using computers, i feel it suits better. I request the Techie guys present in this list l to advice me and give me guidance in choosing this career. 2. Getting a govt job before my vision gets deteriorate. and to settle as soon as possible. And also, I request all of the list members to inform any information which they feel is useful to me. At present, I'm comfortable with using magnifier. I know Jaws too... but not completely. I'm still learning some keystrokes. Please be patient to read this long mail. And I request all the list members to extend their cooperation whenever neede. You can also contact me off the list too. Re: [AI] Quarries about writer in Bank exams
Dear Vamshi sir, I agree with you. and the alternatives suggested by you are satisfactory. and I request all the people who can made this one to focus some light on this tipic. Thank you... On Sat, Jul 17, 2010 at 6:50 PM, Vamshi. G gvamsh...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, The present rules of scribe are certainly ridiculous. now that all banks are free to lay down their own rules, people/NGOs in a certain area should approach the banks whose central offices are located in that particular area. For example, Mr. Gautam, President of NFB Karnataka, is in Banglore and hence can approach banks like Corporation bank, Vijaya Bank, Syndicate bank, etc. Efforts can be made to sensitise them about the present rules and how they are making life difficult for visually challenged people, and above all, propose rules that are amicable to both banks and candidates. They should be sensitised as to how aspects like scribe from a different academic stream are irrelevant for a banking entrance exam, and how strengthening of invigilation can replace the current stringent rules. Almost all the banks' head offices are located in places like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta, Chennai, Hyderabad, Banglore, where we have some very good NGOs operating. So, they can summarise the experiences of visually challenged people and present them before the banks. In the meanwhile, we can put efforts towards creating a centralised database of willing scribes and try to cater to the needs of needy people. In searching scribes, once our own friend on Access India was successful in using social networking sites like Orkut, Twitter, etc., to find people with the required conditions. I heard kanchan madam is fighting a legal battle on this issue, but don't know the details and progress. If these rules equally apply in all bank exams or vary from bank to bank? 4.If the rules may vary from state to state even in same bank? 5.Some one has told me that one of the conditions is that the marks of the writer in last passed exam should be less than 60 p.c. Is this true? 6. Does this condition not cause inconvenience to get a suitable writer? Thanks in advance. With due regard, Gautam agarwal.
