[AI] Cafe Run by Blind Women

2021-12-02 Thread Simran Chawla
Hi Access Indians,
Here is the video of BLIND BAKE-
A Cafe Run by Blind Women!

Here’s a whole vlog covering this new and very unique cafe in Hauz Khas Enclave!
This includes interview of Mrs. Shalini Khanna Sodhi, the director of NAB India
Centre and Kamla, the Blind Chef. We have also covered the review of the food
and of the whole cafe place and seating.
Since this is a very unique concept, I would request you all to please share
this in your circle so that more people get to know about this cafe since it
has opened a new space for employment opportunities for people with visual
impairment.
You should definitely visit the cafe to enjoy the outdoor seating with
delicious food and support the organisation in this new venture!

Re: [AI] On World Mental Health Day

2021-10-10 Thread Simran Chawla
Hi,
I absolutely agree on this. Being a psychology student, I totally can relate
with the loss that this pandemic has brought in at the mental health of many
people.
Thinking of that situation and keeping myself in that situation, I have written
a motivational story link of which I’m sharing below.
Hope you’ll listen to the whole story as it has a lot of lessons to learn from.
I would look forward to your feedback as well.

Re: [AI] WhatsApp issue - On the screen to choose contacts toShare/Forward content

2020-09-06 Thread Simran Chawla
Dear Friends,

I have always faced this problem. And in frustration, I have switched to
Louie Voice Control.

Louie has given an apt solution to this problem of mine by allowing me to
forward a whatsapp message just by my voice commands. On the top of it,
Louie also allows me to fully control WhatsApp and all its features just by
my spoken voice commands including sending and editing long messages,
sharing location, saving and sharing contact cards, creating new groups,
making group calls, and much more.

Since the time I have started using WhatsApp with Louie, my experience has
been so fulfilling that I now can't even imagine using WhatsApp without it.

If you want to know more about Louie or all the supported features across
the Apps, you can anytime go to Louie Voice Channel available on YouTube.
There are a number of *How-To Videos* that will inform you what all Louie
does.

Best wishes,

Simran

Re: [AI] Opportunities for a visually impaired as a voiceover artist

2019-06-04 Thread Simran Chawla
Hey Avichal
I haven’t taken training till now but I know quite a few people in Voice Over
Industry. I have a whatsapp group called Voice Over Bank which includes the
professional voice over artists and lenders, and also the freshers in this
field. I organise voice over competitions as well sometimes. I guess it can be
useful to you. If you are interested to join, let me know. I’ll add you
provided that you send me all the details required, which I can mail you if you
interested.

Also, I know a voice over coach in Delhi, Himanshu Khanna. You can google him
and talk to him once. And if you are comfortable doing online course, I can
connect you to Anil Mani, who is a very well known Voice Over artist and coach.

Best Regards

[AI] Request for Support: "We can Do Whatever We Want to" Movement

2019-04-26 Thread Simran Chawla
Dear Access Indians:
I am Simran Chawla, a visually impaired girl who loves acting. I won a
beauty pageant-Princess India 2016-2017 and was crowned by John
Abraham. I have been a user of Access
India since 2016.

I am writing to this mailing list today, because I wish you to join
our movement in spreading our stories as the visually impaired. We are
capable of doing
everything and anything that we want to do. We can together overcome
discrimination and isolation issue by advancing our movement together.
We will show
we are as equal as everyone.
I am using my acting to share this message with my audience. I am by
no means a renowned actress. However, you and I can together make a
difference.
You can join this movement by one or more of the following actions
1. Share the social media post on this issue - I am writing them as well;
2. Post your story on social media with hashtags - you can see my
story and hashtags below as reference;
3. Introduce me to someone like yourself, those who are working on the
blind awareness issues, WhatsApp group on this matter, journalists
passionate about
this matter, and any influencers on social media such as Facebook,
YouTube, and Instagram;
4. Join my acting as a participating actor - let me write how you can
do this at the end of this email; and
5. More than anything - respond to this email that you are supportive to me!

Let me now write my story.
I was born with normal eyesight. At the age of five, I got fever and
my parents gave me a sirup prescribed by the doctor to counter its
effects. My body
got reacted with that medicine and when I woke up the next day, I had
red sores of sorts all over my body, even my eyes. I was immediately
rushed to the
doctor and admitted in the hospital. I was totally on glucose and food
pipes. My weight came down to 15 kgs. My nails were breaking and my
hair were coming
off. It was a complete nightmare. After a month when I got discharged
from the hospital, the marks on my body got okay but all that affected
my eyes. My
eyes got totally dried up and I lost my vision. my whole world turned
dark. Being a kid, I lost my mental balance and used to hit my head on
the wall and
had no clue what was happening to me. It was the love of my family
that made me strong. My parents consulted all the eye specialists pan
india, my right
eye got 8-9 surgeries done but only thing that got better was that I
started differentiating between the colours from a very close
distance.
After almost two years of that accident, my parents admitted me to NAB
Delhi to make me learn braille. And then after an year, I got
integrated to Mount
Carmel School. With the help of teachers, family, braille and
technology, I got confidence that I can do everything. I’m like
everyone, I’m as same as
others, I’m no different. I started believing in myself. I realised
there are so many things to be thankful for, rather than crying over
what I’ve lost.
I can make use of other senses that I’ve got and do whatever I want
to. My family made me learn to smile and be positive even in the
toughest of the situations.
And in this coarse of time, I myself realised that your positive
attitude towards life, belief in yourself, will and determination to
do something, can
make you fulfill all your dreams. Nothing in this world can stop you
from achieving that. Till date, I’ve tried out everything that I
wanted to, be it
acting, voice overs, radio jockeying, writing poetries, writing
scripts for short films and advertisements, modelling, motivating
people, anchoring and
many more such things. The dreams don’t end here. I’ll keep on trying
out many more things of my interests, be it difficult or easy, either
I succeed or
fail, I just want to try, try and try. Trying makes me win all the battles.

In the next days, I’ll be posting my stories on my facebook with the
hash tags like, #ICanDoWhateverIWantToDo, #IBelieveInMe,
#BelieveInYou, #ConfidenceIsMyWings,
#Storytelling, #Robosion, #StorytellingApp, #Movement, #LifePurpose,

story will be
first told via writing. If you can respond to this email, we can aim
at the same timing to release our story for higher impact. Our team
will spread the
message.
This movement has already started and is getting larger. As one of the
great milestones, the team from Stanford University, Silicon Valley,
Hollywood,
and Japan have offered support to us. This team has created an app to
tell story. With this app, we can act together to deliver our message.
We can be

removes the background of your videos with artificial intelligence so
that you can put
your selfies into our acting. Animator of Lion King, Beauty and Beast,

support our acting.
We will act and deliver our message in this magical scene that
communicates hope. 007 and Bourne Identity story analyst can help us

Re: [AI] Urgent emotional support required

2019-02-23 Thread Simran Chawla
Hey Alvesh
I can understand your situation. But just think that whatever has happened or
whatever is happening, is happening for a reason, for your good rather. Be
positive, think positively. That will easen your situation. Being negative will
only worsen it.
This is the reason why we call life a roller coaster ride. There are highs and
lows and you should enjoy every bit of it.
And the things that you want to do, those you can still do. Going to market and
enjoying with friends, you can do that, why not. Just keep smiling :)

And the books if you want to read, read a book named “The Power of your
Subconscious Mind”. If you don’t find the pdf, let me know I’ll share that with
you

2019-01-16 Thread Simran Chawla
Hey Aravind
yes, this software is different.

see, if you know proper english with correct grammar, you can speak
the whole sentence and normal software can convert it into text for
you. but, if in case you don't know proper english, the way, you'll
speak, it will convert as it is. it will not correct your grammar and
form a correct sentence for you.
for example,
you say: "I have dinner", it will write the text as it is
but, our software can understand your broken or unclear english and
can form a proper correct sentence with correct grammar as you saw in
the story example I sent in my last mail.

let me know if it is still not clear. we can have a telephonic
conversation, and I can explain that to you.

Best Regards
Simran Chawla

[AI] A question for Visually Impaired People

2019-01-16 Thread Simran Chawla
Hey Access Indians
Hope you are all doing fine!

I have a question for you guys. it will be really great if you can
give honest answer to that question.

the company I am working with, is planning to develop a software. I'll
brief you about it with an example.

okay, so let's say, there's a person: XYZ who feels lonely or
depressed or isolated and needs a companion to share his things with.
the people who like writing and those who are good at writing, can
easily pen down their feelings. but the people like person XYZ are
unable to express their thoughts on a paper, need someone to talk to,
someone who can listen to them.
let's say person XYZ is an english learner and knows just basic
english. with the help of this software, he can write a whole letter.
amazed? let me explain you how.

Story:
Person XYZ is an Indian and knows just basic english. he opens that
Avatar and starts talking to it about dinner
Avatar: "Hey XYZ! how are you?"
Person XYZ: "good"
Avatar: "so, what are you doing?"
XYZ: "dinner"
Avatar: "Finished your dinner? or still having?"
XYZ: "finish"
Avatar: "that's good. what did you have in dinner today?"
XYZ: "Chicken"
Avatar: "so, how was it?"
XYZ: "very tasty"
Avatar: "great, tasty food actually freshens up our mood. hope it did
for you as well"
XYZ: "yes"
After this conversation, that avatar can generate a letter of that
conversation. like:
hey, I'm feeling good today. hope you are fine too. I just finished my
dinner. I had Chicken today. it was very tasty. my mood freshened up
because of it.

XYZ sends this letter to one of foreigner strangers named: ABC. Person
ABC is a Japanese and he too knows just basic english. he reads that
letter and replies with the help of that avatar only.
so, basically they are able to exchange letters very easily. if we
have to write a mail to someone, we need to type out the whole thing
on our own but with the help of this software writing becomes so easy.

the advantages of this software are:
*you can talk to any person in this world without any communication barrier
*you can exchange cultural ideas with foreigners
*you can know people's stories across the world
*even when, you don't know proper english, you can write a perfect letter
*you can make many friends
and many more such advantages

so, my main question to you is, if you receive a letter from a
foreigner stranger, would you like to read that and will you reply to
that letter? can this software help you in anyway? can this lessen
people's loneliness/depression? do you like the idea of this software?
it will be really nice if you can give an honest answer to the above questions.

waiting for your reply.
hoping to hear from you and get a valuable feedback.

thanks in advance

Best Regards
Simran Chawla
