if you are satisfied with windows xp and all your software's and hardwears
are working fine, then there is no issue. Microsoft has become afraid from
its competitors, hence they are updating their software's in a very short
intervals. same is applied for hardware.

How is the ram alocated on the laptop? You may want to check that you are

Hi Shireen and all,

The use of sleep mode does not harm your laptop. Most laptops go into sleep
mode if the battery reaches a critically low level. If the laptop battery
drains fully during sleep mode, laptops then go into hibernation. Much
depends on how things are configured.

Hello! Sleep mode can only be use for a certain period of time say 15 minute
to 1 hour. Sorry to say, but Don't use the sleep mode for long period of
time as doing this thing regularly can rapidly decrease your battery life,
and hard disk also.

Re: [AI] Going Back to Windows XP.

2013-09-26 Thread raju singh
Sir, though we can not fulli assemble the laptop, but you know, except apple
mak book, all the brand laptop such as acer, del, hp, etc which are
available on the market is fully assembled. And now a days laptop, it is
very easy to eject and insert ram and hard disk. (without sighted
assistance) but as omiyo sir is saying that his laptop is 3 years old, I
don't recommend to do any thing on the hardware itself. Instead he can use
his nearest computer shop to clean out the ram.

Hello sir, some time it might be due to the cluster of ram. Have you clean
your ram with soft thin cloath? Note, ejecting ram of laptop is more easier
then the desktop computer.

Re: [AI] Going Back to Windows XP.

2013-09-24 Thread Amiyo Biswas

Hello Pranav,

I am using Dell Vostro 1015 with 2.1 ghz processor and 2 gb RAM. I use Jaws
14 and eset nod32 antifirus.

I was also using windows 7 for last three years and enjoyed its speed and
some interesting features. But the most disturbing thing was, at least in my
case, when I had to force shut down, jaws stopped first. So there was no way
to know if any other programme was running.

Anyway, I have reinstalled indows xp sp3 this morning. The OS only and jaws
and the graphics driver. i am thinking of continuing with it for some time.

Can you suggest which junks are running by a Dell machine? How can I find
and stop them?

Hi Amiyo,

1. What are the specifications of the laptop?
2. Down grading to Windows XP is not a good option since it is no longer
supported by Microsoft.
3. What screen reader are you using?
4. What anti-malware applications are you using?

Many laptops have a lot of junk running on them by default which has to be
uninstalled or at least stopped from starting up at boot time. A chkdsk
will

usually not help in an increase in speed.

2013-09-23 Thread Hozefa Tambawala
I am using Windows 7 since more than 3 months and very satisfied with
its performance. My Netbook configuration is as follows:

RAM: 1 GB
Processor: Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N270 @ 1.60GHz

I have also noticed sometimes if the Windows 7 failed to load it tries
to repair first and if repairing doesn’t works then it restores
windows from the older restore point which are created earlier by
windows.

I am using xp at my home and 7 at my office and satisfied. don't close the
lead of your laptop until the fan stops working while you shutting down.
windows 7 is more sensetive system then xp. I don't think that there may be
problem on your hard disk as you mentioned on your earlier mail.

The most annoying thing about windows 7 is that if it is not properly shut

if your systm supports windows xp then no problem, you can continue with

Hello,

I am getting ded up with my Windos 7 on Dell Vostro laptop. It is three
years old. I got it recently formatted. The problem is that it does not
start normally each time. Even if it starts, the explorer window is very
slow. I have tried everything I know, including full scan and chkdsk etc.

I used Windows XP on it for a few days. I am thingking of going back to
the old system.

My vendor says that it is worn out and I should go for a new laptop. Do yu
think that a life of three years is enough for a thirty-thousand Dell
laptop? I used mainly for editing audio files.

hi,
i'm not sure if xp is a good idea. a lot of brouzers and sights are
not supporting it any more, so u may be able to still access them, but
there will always be minor anoying problems.
u might want to try and reinstall windows7 or find out where the
problem lies if starting up is the only problem your facing.

[AI] Going Back to Windows XP.

2013-09-22 Thread Amiyo Biswas
Hello,

I am getting ded up with my Windos 7 on Dell Vostro laptop. It is three years
old. I got it recently formatted. The problem is that it does not start
normally each time. Even if it starts, the explorer window is very slow. I have
tried everything I know, including full scan and chkdsk etc.

I used Windows XP on it for a few days. I am thingking of going back to the old
system.

My vendor says that it is worn out and I should go for a new laptop. Do yu
think that a life of three years is enough for a thirty-thousand Dell laptop? I
used mainly for editing audio files.
