No longer getting RSA text detail from ResponsiveSearchAdHeadlines

2021-12-10 Thread Stan Shyshkin
Hi, I'm trying to use Google Ads Scripts to download RSA ad details
via ResponsiveSearchAdHeadlines from the AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT as shown
below, but instead of getting the output with all headlines as I remember
getting in the past, I'm getting outputs such as " ["[object
Object]","[object Object]","[object Object]","[object Object]","[object
Object]","[object Object]","[object Object]","[object Object]"]".

Could you help point me towards how I could get the actual RSA headline and
description text components?

"SELECT CampaignName, AdGroupName, Id, AdStrengthInfo,
ResponsiveSearchAdHeadlines, ResponsiveSearchAdDescriptions,
ResponsiveSearchAdPath1, ResponsiveSearchAdPath2 " +
"FROM AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT " +
"WHERE AdType = RESPONSIVE_SEARCH_AD " +
"AND CampaignStatus = ENABLED " +
"AND AdGroupStatus = ENABLED " +
"AND Status = ENABLED"

Thanks in advance!

Hi Mostafa,

Although we recommend using our client library, here are the protocol buffers
of Google Ads API, you can follow our basic concepts overview to know how to
use them. You can also look into using our REST interface.

For Youtube API's you can get support here -

For guidance in generating keyword ideas, you can use our keyword planning

Note that this support channel can only give support for Ads Ads/AdWords API

Re: How to solve DEVELOPER_TOKEN_PROHIBITED error ?

2021-12-10 Thread 'Alex Gaesser' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hey team,

This isn't a question, I just wanted to add onto this chain that I'm are
experiencing this same issue and am having a hard time getting clarity.

My issue is the TOS in the MCC account needed to be signed, but the
associated gmail account is no longer accessible. To get around this
without deauthorizing all the existing connected customer accounts, I did a
developer token transfer to a newly-created MCC account. However, after
assurances the transfer would maintain the existing access, I'm still
getting a DEVELOPER_TOKEN_PROHIBITED when making calls with creds generated
in the project the transferred token is supposedly already associated with.

CV describes the pain point well:

*But issue here is I was using my developer token to test out new API and
application have already 400+ accounts map with the current project and his
developer token.*
*I cannot ask him to relink those account again.*

At this point I'm pretty deep in an email thread spanning several Google
Support departments and we're just going around in circles. Creating the
new project was a non-starter, but it looks like the outcome of the token
transfer is that I need to create a new GCP project, oauth client, and have
to ask my customers to relink all their accounts anyway.

Re: Retrieving Draft/Experiment Ad Groups

2021-12-10 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hey Will,

Yes, the field mask helper is actually pretty simple. You can also pass None as
one of the paramters, and it will compare the other object to a blank version
of the same type. I just did some simple experimentation and it doesn't seem as
though it handles oneof fields (like bidding strategy) very well. For example,
if I compare a campaign with manual_cpc.enhanced_cpc_enabled = True to another
campaign with manual_cpm set to {} it doesn't acknowledge the change in field,
it just seems to think that manual_cpc has been unset.

In general the way to unset any field (in your case, to remove the resource
name for a portfolio bidding strategy) is to leave the field blank and manually
add the field to the update_mask. The API will see that you intend to update
that field, see that it's blank, and assume you meant to return it to it's
default value, in this case an empty string. At some point in the distant
future I'd like for the update_mask logic to be more implicit and require no
manual intervention, but that's unlikely to happen any time soon.

If you have any more questions or issues related to this, please feel free to
add another issue to the GitHub repo.

Thanks,
Ben, Google Ads API Team

Re: Retrieving Draft/Experiment Ad Groups

2021-12-10 Thread Will Schymik
Thanks Ben!

Adding the field mask appending to the documentation would be awesome.

It also seems odd to me that using the old campaign as the base object in
the field mask helper caused issues. I would expect this is the intended
way of creating a field mask (comparing the new values to old values),
however in this case the API was resistant to the explicit removal of the
bidding_strategy field even though another one of the unioned fields was
added. I would expect this might be more of an issue with the API that
isn't worth addressing explicitly in the SDK?

2021-12-10 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Will,

Thanks for letting us know. Nadine passed this issue along to me as I'm the
maintainer of the Python client library. I see you also posted a related issue
to that repo, which is great, I'll respond there as well. Meanwhile will let
you know that this is a known behavior of the field mask helper. When comparing
two protobuf messages to generate field mask, the field mask helper can't tell
the difference between a field that is not set, and a field is set to its
default value (i.e. 0 is the default for most numeric fields). So in such a
case, you would need to manually append this field to the field mask.

I noticed that our documentation doesn't specify this, so I'll get this updated
ASAP.

Thanks!
Ben, Google Ads API Team

Do you have a documentation article on this handy? May be in API migration

Thank you!

RE: How to use script export asset report?

2021-12-10 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hello,

Thanks for reaching out. You can authenticate as a manager by setting its ID as
the login customer ID, and then you get asset reports by targeting a client
customer of that manager. Please see this guide on asset reporting. There are
multiple reporting examples given here as well. Though there isn't an example
that uses assets specifically, you can make the small modifications to these
reporting examples suit your need.

get field from GoogleAdsRow by String?

2021-12-10 Thread dhmitc...@gmail.com
I'm writing a generic shim over GoogleAdsServiceClient#search which allows
the caller to pass any SELECT field in (in addition to a predefined set)
and want to return a simple `Map` of all these user
specified fields which means I need some way to query a `GoogleAdsRow`
using the same fieldname syntax as the string select query.

I see com.google.protobuf.GeneratedMessageV3#getField which may be as close
as I can get, but it's nonTrivial (I can't figure out how to get
FieldDescriptor by name)

Another option would be to iterate through all set fields in GoogleAdsRow
filtering out the ones I know about as I can see how to generate the
selectable fieldName from these.

So, does anyone know how to get a field by its name from GoogleAdsRow or
how to iterate all set values in GoogleAdsRow and get map fieldName ->
value?

RE: Exclude groups

2021-12-10 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Yes, in Smart Shopping campaigns, listing groups are not used to set bids (like
in standard Shopping campaigns) but rather to include a set of products or to
exclude them. When setting your AdGroupCriterion, you can set negative to true
to exclude criteria. You may refer to guides and examples of listing groups.

Hi Adam,

Thank you for posting your concern.

To investigate the issue, could you provide the complete request and response

it via Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, then
send it instead on this email address googleadsapi-supp...@google.com.

If you haven't enabled the logging of the API transactions for the specific

Re: Upload a customer list to the audience manager using google ads api

2021-12-10 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Based on this document, it says that the basic access level allows the
developer token to execute up to 15,000 operational requests per day and 1,000
get operations per day only. With this, if you want to have unlimited
operational requests per day, then upgrading to the standard access tier does
not have operations per day limit, but is subject to the global limits. For
more information on requests, you may refer to this guide.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

RE: Remove Custom Interest

2021-12-10 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi,

I can confirm that removing custom interest is not yet supported in Google Ads
API. I'll raise a feature request on this so our team can consider adding this
in future API versions. Please follow our blog and release notes for future
updates.
