Points taken. Thankfully with the Zoom F8N you can connect a number of independent power supplies apart from the battery of the IOS device or the batteries of the recorder itself if it indeed is using any. The power supply arrangement is quite complex and very flexible. The Zoom F8N can be configured to run from any voltage between 9 and 18 volts so this means that the recorder can be run from a very wide range of power sources and battery packs. Further to this the recorder can shutdown when the voltage falls below a certain level or switch to an alternate power source. Yeah either that or actually what I believe and no offence to anyone that does use the IPhone for real work, they may expect that musicians and whom ever else would use the IPad for true production and serious work. I don't think so with the battery thing because the H6 uses it's own. The choice for the IPad is called stereo mix IPad battery. The manual for the Zoom H6 talks about using the H6 with an iPad and doesn’t mention iPhone so I did wonder what the big deal was as surely both IOS devices could be used?
