In the second sample I was actually using fixed (single-line) line spacing. When
switching to fixed (German : Fest) spacing, the extra empty lines vanished.
Then, however, everything (e.g. formulas) that exceeds the line height will be
silently cut off. That still cannot be the solution.
I checked my bible (Mut zur Typographie (ISBN 3-540-67541-8 /
ISBN 978-3-540-67541-9)), and it said that Registerhaltigkeit (register true)
is done by adjusting the spacing at the END of elements (frames, paragraphs,
tables, images, etc.), not in the middle of elements (as done by OOo inside one
paragraph).
(The cited book also states that not only the opposite page is considered for
vertical alignment, but also the back of the page. If adjustments only flow
forward that's OK, but if you are trying to make symmetrical adjustments (i.e.
maybe adjust the spacing of the preceding pages as well as that of the next
page), you are running into interesting problems.)
Summary: A real solution is highly appreciated.

So I guess you did not examine the second example with the right arrow from
Symbol font. Anyway: The current layout decisions ARE TERRIBLE. Not wanting to
fix it is a decision that makes me doubt OOo is the right product for me.

First remark: This seems to be a bug with tradition, possibly going back to
OOo 1.0.1 (bug 9858), probably also described in bug 64669.
I first noticed the bug when inserting a right arrow from the symbol font
caused an extra blank line to appear. Investigating further (first I had
suspected a bad font), I found that other changes in a line (like adding a
formula object) also causes an extra line to appear.
At some moment I realized that regiter-true (German: Registerhaltigkeit)
causes this effect. I think the algorithm is very bad:
The idea is to make lines on opposite pages appear side-by-side in a maximum
number of cases. This could be done by adjusting inter-paragraph vertical
spacing, inter-line spacing, etc.
OOo still seems to prefer adding one empty line in the middle of a paragraph
over making a small adjustment that reduces the inter-line spacing.
An annotated screen shot will make things more obvious (I added red corrections
where empty lines should go away, and I added green alignment marks where I
guessed OOo will force the alignment. I used GIMP to move lines to positions
that I'd prefer for another screen shot. I'll provide two sample documents,
one using formulas, the other a right arrow from the Open Symbol font (should
work with similar symbol fonts as well).
Summary: very bad formatting choice, can't understand why this bug existed for
so long.

I have some updates:
First the involved OOo packages are from mid of October, and for example the
writer has this version: OpenOffice_org-writer-3.2.1.6-0.7.1 (SLED11 SP1).
Next, when recreating the PDF, the defect is persistent (i.e. new newly created
PDF is bad as well). Also, multiple documents are exported as invalid PDFs.
However, when I export the document in OOo 3.2.1 in Windows (using the official
build), the PDF looks OK. Honestly let me remark that the fonts present on both
operating systems may be different, some settings might be, and the hyphenation
algorithm might be different as well.

(Found in Novell's version of OOo 3.2.1 for SLED11 SP1)
A writer document exported as PDF/A can be displayed in Acrobat Reader, but
cannot be printed (for a non-obvious reason). When trying to verify the

It's quite late to comment, but anyway: Issue (1) should be solvable by using
PDF/A (which will embedd all used fonts). As the 14 standard fonts are expected
to be viewable in any browser, the more interesting feature seems to embedd
fonts that are not among those 14 standard fonts. On interesting application
could be PDF forms (which are mutually exclusive with PDF/A).

Let me add:
First, wow, this request if for OOo 1.1.4 (five years ago), and it's not fixed
even in 3.2. Ok, I'd like to demand multiple spaces also. To begin with, Unicode
has a rich collection of spaces. There is another request that deals with OOo
treating those right. Even for character sets where these spaces do not exist,
OOo could synthetically compute them. For example (using mostly German phrases)
a Geviert (em-space) should correspond to the font-size (with of an 'M'
typically). In addition to that there should be a thin-space with half of the
width, plus possible Achtelgeviert (1/8), Viertelgeviert (1/4), and
Drittelgeviert (1/3).
Even the very old UNIX formula editor eqn had two widths of spaces, nemely '~'
a space, and '^', a thin space.
So back to Unicode: I'll list some of the obvious spaces known in Unicode (see:
Mapping of Unicode characters in Wikipedia):
U+200B zero-width space
U+200C zero-width non-joiner
U+200D zero-width joiner
U+0020 space
U+00A0 non-break space
U+2060 word-joiner
U+2002 En-space
U+2003 Em-space
U+2006 Six-Per-Em space
U+2007 figure space
U+2008 punctuation space
U+2009 Thin space
U+200A Hair space
U+205F Mathematical space
U+202F Narrow no-break space
U+2062 invisible times
U+2063 invisible separator
(the last two used for mathematical expressions)

Related to spacing might be also:
U+2000 En-quad
U+2001 Em-quad
U+2011 Non-breaking hyphen
U+00AD Soft hyphen

So OOo should know about the meaning of these characters when doing formatting
(line breaks, hyphenation, etc.) and searching, but should also provide an easy
wa for users to use (i.e.: enter) such characters.
Final note: For languages that do not use left-to-right, top-to-bottom text
align ment, there may be more spacial characters to consider. Forgive the
simple-minded European ;-)

[sw-issues] [Issue 113648] Allow snap to text areas

I don't want to do vector graphics with the word processor, I just want to
position and size a frame using the mouse. I mentioned Inkscape because of its
rich set of snapping abilities. A wor processor with frames should allow easy
alignment with page elements, otherwise the layout will never be perfect.
I don't want the text to be aligned with the left border; I want the additional
frame to be aligned with the left border of the main page (which is also a frame
in my view). The assumption is that when using the same formatting for the text,
the text will also align with the text of the main page frame.
If someone with a better desktop publishing program gives you a layout sample,
you try to get as close as possible to it. If we have multiple frames in Writer,
why not use them? Most template somehow mis-use features to get the desired
effects. It's not perfect, but it will do.
You are right that I can position frames more precisely by using numeric input,
but aren't you admitting at the same time that positioning with the mouse is
sub-optimal?

corresponds to the German Rand/Einzug), there is a mini simplified preview of
the effects. However if you change the right margin (or is it: indent?) to a
negative value, no preview is shown.
Showing that type of preview would need to make the lines initially less wide,
so that the negative right margin can make them wider.
(Basically it was an experiment whether I can make footers wider than the page's
normal text, and using negative right margins works just fine.)

I fyou have a grid and snapping activated, and you try to playe a region to fit
the text boarders of the page frame, the grid makes it impossible (unless the
gid accidentially matches the text borders). If you look at Inkscape (just for
example), there is a variety of objects to snap to.
For OOo, snapping to the page's borders seems to be very useful (as an option to
activate).

It's the word processor. Scenario: For some reason you reduce the right border
of the page layout by several cm. Zoom out to see the full page. Then you'd like
to have a full-width footer. So you try to add a frame (German: Rahmen) at the
bottom of the page that is aligned with the left border of the text and the
bottom of the page. With grid (German: Raster) active the frame snaps (German:
einrasten) besides the text borders. Probably for a higher zoom factor, the
frame actually snaps at the text borders. Is that descriptive enough, or do you
need a sample document?

Note: As of StarOffice 9.2, ther is not default key-combination assigned to soft
hyphen (expecting something like Cintrol+Minus or Control+Shift+Minus). The menu
also does not indicate a key assignment. Inserting via menu is too complicated
for frequent use. Also, the German documentation (Bedingtes Trennzeichen)
claims that Control+Minus would insert a soft hyphen, but that's no true. I
thought that it once worked in earlier versions.

I have not exact reproduction for this issue, but I have one where undo does
create something that did not exist before (StarOffice 9.2.0):
Start a new presentation in normal mode. Add about four items for a bulletted
list. Mark the frist three items (using the mouse). Select the button to reduce
the font size (all four itmes are smaller now). Click anywhere to cancel the
selection. Press undo: The last item that changed font size is larger now, but
the other two items still have the old size.
So you changed three lines with one command, but undo will only affect one line.
I feel this problem may be related to the original one (which is probably more
complicated to reproduce).

duplicated, but with a different page number. The document is similar than your
sample: It uses hidden paragraphs that might include images.

I was changing a document, involving a cut of a paragraph with some image and
pasting it at a different position of the document. Then I applied some changes
to the image's cropping, exported it to PDF without having saved the document.
Viewing the PDF I was not satisfied with the changes, so I started to undo those
changes. At some point I realized that undo would insert a single word where it
never was deleted from. I had to reload the file.

[framework-issues] [Issue 108931] Caching of obsolete certi ficates?

I imported the certificate freshly into Windows/XP's certificate storage (with
high security). All old imports of the certificate had been removed. Even with
OOo 3.2.1 I was unable to create a signature for a document using that
certificate. However with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional I was able to sign a
PDF using exactly that Windows certificate storage mechanism. As I think Windows
does the authentication without involvement of OOo, my lengthy passphrase ( 20
characters) should not be the problem, right? The cerificate also includes a
certificate chain of root CA, two intermediate CAs, and user certificate.
I'd appreciate a good error message at least!

I fully understand your point of view as a developer. Unfortunately software
bugs aren't always reproducible as you'd like. Anyway they are bugs, not user
stories.
In my case the document was an exam, that is due on monday, so giving away a
sample document is non-trivial. I'm trying to work on it, however.

A specific font is described by several attributes, like font family,
manufacturer, style, weight, size, etc.
Unfortunately OOo does not display all attributes when offering a font to pick
from a list, nor does it save all the attributes in the XML files.

For example, there is a font named Garamond that is available from Monotype
and from Adobe (and from Agfa, Linotype, ITC, etc.). Depending on the foundry
there may be slight differences in kerning or visual appearance, so the user
(especially if he has installed several of those choices) wants to pick a
specific font from all the available ones. Another example is said to be
Frutiger Univers. OOo does not display/store the vendor/foundry of the font at
the moment.

Also OOo does not indicate whether a specific font is available in specific
styles (normal, italic, oblique, slanted) or weights (norlam, light , bold,
etc.) If a specific font is not available, OOo creates the shape synthetically,
usually with sub-optimal results.

For example, when OOo displays one font named Tahoma, there are actually two
fonts named Tahoma and Tahoma-bold installed, but not some Tahoma-italic.

I don't know all the English names, but OOo should display/store more of the
attributes like (using German phrases):
Schriftfamilie (font family)
Hersteller (manufacturer/foudry)
Schriftschnitt (specific cut)
Laufweite/Zeichenweite (pitch, like condensed, narrow, normal, expanded, etc.)
Schriftlage (like regular, italic, slanted, oblique)
Schriftgrad (point size)

After upgrading OOo 3.1.1 to 3.2, I still found a menu entry OpenOffice 3.1 in
the start menu of Windows/XP. However the start menu was empty. The new
OpenOffice 3.22 menu entry was properly populated.
If possible, remove empty start menu enties during upgrade.
(The problem had been seen after upgrading previous versions already. Maybe it's
time to fix it)

Currently if you have installed a new font in Windows, OOo doesn't list that
font in the drop-down list until OOo is restarted. It would be nice if OOo could
detect changed fonts without a restart.

When setting a user-defined document property of type date (new in OOO 3), the
set value isn't displayed when a corresponding field is inserted to the
document. When changing the user-defined property to type text however, the
value is displayed. I'll add to samples:
date0.odt: field's value isn't displayed
date1.odt: field's value is displayed

Note: I could not find out what the intended use of the types in user-defined
properties was intended for, but it can't be that wrong to set the type of a
date to date, right?

I had imported a certificate to Windows, and I had used that sucessfully to sign
documents. However I had forgotten the password that protected the certificate.
So I removed the old certificate and imported it again (I had a backup
somewhere) using the Windows mechanism.
While other applications see (and are able to use) the new certificate, OOo
seems to have cached the old certificate somewhere: When unlocking the
certificate (private key) the password prompt is not the expected one.
I noticed that Windows/XP seems to assign kind of random filenames, even if the
same certificate is imported again.
I don't know the exact problem in OOo, but in effect certificates don't work as
expected.

[framework-issues] [Issue 73793] There's no field format fo r durations

After three years of being unconfirmed, I'd like to point out that it's still an
issue, and yet another format would be D+HH:MM:SS (D=Days, H,M,S= the obvious
(Hours, Minutes, Seconds).
Also some basic maths:
Duration + or - Duration - Duration
Time - Time - Duration
Time + or - Duration - Time

So basically date and time mathematics is incomplete without durations.

One scenario seems to work: If you delete the old versions and then save a new
version, the old versions remain deleted. I'll send a sample in private (more or
less) mail that should show the effect.

This problem report is for OOo 3.1.1 as shipped with SLED10 SP2 (Novell's SuSE
Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 Service Pack 2):
I have a writer document with versions that I copied to a new file. In the new
file I deleted most of the content, started to enter new text, and saved it. The
I wanted to delete the obsolete versions (File.Versions). The delete succeeded,
but even after a subsequent Save, the versions are still displayed. For some
reasons, it seems impossible to delete versions. I thought renaming the
container file (ZIP/ODT) would be possible at any time. Is that assumption true?

When changing a HSQLDB view using SQL (e.g. insering a new column at the
beginning), executing the SQL statements shows correct output (all inside the
view designer). When I close the designer and open (double-click) the changed
view, the column names don't show the correct values. This problem persists
until the database application is closed and re-opened. Then the column headings
are current.

I had made a mistake: The default is actually 01.01.01 (as indicated). Yes, I
found out the work-around, but I thought I'll report it, because you'll have to
be careful not to overlook that new default. Also, other data types (like
INTEGER) also get a default value (0 in the case of INTEGER).

I tried to reproduce the problem: Having a formula on a new presentation shows
normal performance. Having a formula in a somewhat larger presentation where
there are other elements on the slide shows a somewhat slower performance, but
still acceptable. So I was not able to reproduce the slow performance. I guess
it was due to the fact that other applications were open at that time, so maybe
it was a low memory issue, but no swapping was going on.
So I think we can close this issue until stronger evidence is available.

The OS was Windows/XP. I have a database with multiple tables. Some table
columns (i.e. entity types) are present in many tables (e.g. valid_from,
valid_until). So I thought it would save me time to copy and paste those common
entities.
Procedure: Mark the desired entities in the table design, then copy them. Switch
to the target table and paste them. Now in the target table the new date
entities have a default value like 01.01.1980, while the original entities do
not have them. I have not tried other versions of OOo.

When inserting a formula object into a presentation (Impress), even for simple
formulas the editing experience is quite poor. The reason: even moving the
cursor is terribly slow, not to talk about the time until the formula actually
updates.
This is for a 1.6GHz Laptop with 2GB RAM running Windows/XP.
For comparison: 20 years ago on a 16 MHz machine with 4MB RAM the formula editor
in Ventura Publisher had similar speed. Now if you consider the burst of CPU
speed, compiler technology and RAM (not to talk about graphics cards and
busses), this is a poor experience when using the formula editor.

Ctrl+Shift+Y inside the Edit menu (so that users will learn about that)?
BTW: As Ctrl+Shift+Y also repeats applying the last style everything is perfect!

Some repeating editing tasks are much more complicated than necessary, because
you need several mouse movements and clicks and/or keyboard input to have one
command completed (e.g. change the font size of the selection to 9pt, or
subscript the selection).
If OOo would provide a redo command (like in GIMP apply last filter with same
settings again), many editing tasks would be much more simple. For example, I'd
just have to mark the text then say do it again.
The proper location of redo in the menu would be close to undo/redo. Well, we
have a naming issue: the current redo is the undo undo, so maybe it should
be repeat (last command) instead.

Microsoft products display a nice name for the Open with... menu, OOo just
dosplay ugly names like sdraw. I guess most users have no idea what sdraw
stands for. The issue should be solvable by putting some values into the Windows

When you start your presentation by entering the outline (not an unusual way),
when your first slide is filled with text, no new slide is added automatically,
nor does the text go there. Even if you want to split the text at cursor
location to two slides (i.e. add a new slide and put the text after the cursor
there) that's not possible. You can only add a new empty slide.
Comparing slides with paragraphs, I feel something should be there to split one
paragraph into two. It seems Microsoft PowerPoint (version 2000) also cannot do
that, but is this a reason for OOo not to try to implement that?

I a document with narrow cells (which are expected to hold just one character),
entering some characters (which fit optically into the cell) cause an extra line
break. So if you enter one character, line-break, and another character, you'll
get a cell with the first character, and empty line, and the second character.
I'll provide a sample document. Found in OOO 3.1, and it's there in 3.1.1 as
well, just as in StarOffice 9.1 (9 Update 2).
BTW: If I try to save the file as MS-Word document (Word 2000), and then try to
open it in word, Word 2000 crashes. So I cannot really tell whether MS-Word
would do it any better.

I played several rounds of Changing PK, saving, stopping Base, starting Base,
changing back the PK value, etc., but the effect remains. Another strange thing
is that for this table a default value for another column that once was defined
cannot be removed. It can be removed, the design can be saved, but after
reopening the default value is there again. Very strange.

No, I don't use the quickstarter, and yes, the problem is still there after a
reboot of the machine. I only hope it's not related to the fact that the table
has exactly 64 entries now. ;-)

The attachment HP-Sample.zip contains two ODT files and three PDF exports. The
main ODT file HP-Sample.odt contains an unreadable (characters replaced by 'N')
version of the document that has a hidden paragraph. HP-Sample-1.pdf is that
version exported. HP-Sample-2.pdf has the hidden paragraph unhidden, and another
one hidden instead. Finally HP-Sample-3.pdf has both of the above paragraphs
hidden. If you go to the end of the document, it should be clear that the last
page is not there. For convenience I saved a HP-Sample-3.odt that was used to
create that. When trying to reproduce, examine the end (specifically the
section numbers) of the end of the ODT document and compare it to the PDF
document.
I hope this is enough for you to see the problem and fix it.

When exporting a signed text document, Writer pops up a warning saying that
saving the file will remove any signatures. However even after PDF export, the
signature in the original is still valid. So the warning is kind of useless.

You can use certificates to sign documents in OOo, youcan export documents as
PDF, and you can sign PDF files using certificates in Adobe Acrobat, but you

When exporting a document that has paragraph styles set to hidden, the PDF file
contains a bookmark for the last page, but the last page is not present.
When doing the print preview of the same document, page breaks are different,
and the effect is not visible.
The document where the problem occurs is an exam that also contains the
suggested solution. Obviously the export intended for the students has the
proposed solution hidden. Likewise, for the corrector, the fill-in space for
the answers is hidden, but the proposed solution is printed.
Unfortunately that's also the reason why I can't present the document here.
I can only tell you that the last page on the bad PDF export would have more
than a single line on it.

I have a similar issue: Currently it seems a signature signs everything (all
versions). What the user actually wants is to sign the current document (as
being worked on). So If I decide to save a signed version (save a signed
document as new version), the signature should remain valid. Likewise when
removing any old version of the document, signed versions should be unaffected.
Maybe when creating a signature the user could decide whether he/she wants to
sign the whole list of versions, or just the current document (version).

In a database design with many tables and relations, one table has an INTEGER ID
that is used as primary key, and it's value is autoincremented. After some time
I could not enter any new data into that table. The error message was:
Violation of unique constraint SYS_PK_260: duplicate value(s) for column(s) ID
in statement [INSERT INTO LSystem_VDisk (LSystem_ID, valid_from,
VDisk_ID) VALUES(?,?,?)]
As closing/re-opening the table did not work, just as closing/re-opening the
application did not, I tried something like rebuilding the index (which does
not exist). As the index is not used in a releation, I though I could drop it
and then re-create it. When I tried to drop the index (or modify it), I get
another error:
Index not found: SYS_IDX_259 in statement [DROP INDEX SYS_IDX_259 ON
LSystem_VDisk]

This could be yet another bug in HSQLDB, but maybe the view of StarOffice isn't
in sync with HSQLDB.
Actual Product is StarOffice 9 Update 2

In StarOffice 9 Update 2 when defining a query, the German help text for the
icon to add another table says (I'm using English equivalents) Add table or
query. However when you press the icon, only tables and views are offered
(HSQLDB).
So I guess the help text is actually wrong and should read Add table or view.

As I can edit the view as SQL statement, I guess the view is not much more than

that prevents renaming a view.

(Actually seen in StarOffice 9 Update 2)
I had created several tables with indices and relations in Base. Then I filled
one simple table with data. Finally I created a simple database report on that
table, showing two of three columns, sorted by one column, no grouping,
whatever. At the last step Base and other Writer windows just disappeared.
After recovery I did the same with the same result.
After another recovery I decided to close the other writer windows, and repeat
the creation of the report. This time the report appeared, but there were no
menu entries or icons to work on the report (I had selected to modify the
dynamic report). When trying to close the report window, StarOffice prompted to
save the file, but when deciding to do so, nothing happened. That is also
repeatable.

As the reply to a mail message is missing here, here's what I did: Open an
existing document, open a new document. Select all in the existing document,
then paste it into the new document. Watch out for the differences for the
headings (plus page formatting, footnotes, etc.). Then use the new document to
import (load) the styles from the existing document. Again, look at the format
of the headings (Teil, Aufgabe). Test was done with the official build of
OOo 3.1 on Windows/XP SP3, but that should be similar on any platform I guess.

For the database application there is no File-Properties (to enter a
description, keywords, etc.). For a more unique look and feel that would be
great, just as for file information while hovering with the mouse over such
files with Windows explorer.

In Writer you can import styles from another Writer document, but in Calc you
cannot (That button in the stylist is missing). To be consistent across
applications (I haven't checked Draw) there should be many general features that
can be used in the same way.
I was never very happy with the placement of the function to import styles from
another document, because it's too hard to find (too deeply hidden in the
structure of menus and buttons), and I always felt it should be found somewhere
in the Format menu.

The request for enhancement was for 2.0.1, but now in 3.0.1 it's still not done.
Let me summarize what I'd like to have:
Optionally repeating captions with also optional variable parts like
(continued) for any subsequent caption, (to be continued) on any but the
last cation, part x of y for any part. I don't know if it can be implemented
in a one-pass formatter however.

About 20 years ago there was a product named Ventura Publisher that could
generate a document where all the styles used in the document were described in
textual form, and the user could print that for archiving or documenting
purposes.
As I frequently fight with myself an OpenOffice for consistent styles, I would
appreciate such a feature in OpenOffice very much.

[sw-issues] [Issue 45422] Going back to inherited at tributes, or contrasting with them

--- Additional comments from wi...@openoffice.org Fri Feb 6 10:20:50 +

I'm supporting the feature request, however stated a bit differently:
In OOo 3.0 you cannot define a character style that only consists of changing to
a specific font: Once you select one font attribute (e.g. font name), other font
attributes (e.g. size) are also defined in the style (and not inherited).
Practically that means that you cannot define a character style saying use a
specific fixed-pitch font, but keep the current size. If your body text is 12pt
and your footnotes are 10pt, you cannot use the same character style in body
text and footnotes, because in the footnotes the font would be larger than the
rest then.
Also when defining paragraph styles, occasionally you want to revert to the
original, inherited, attribute. That's impossible: If you inherited a font size
of 12 pt, and changed that to maybe 10pt, you can change it back to 12pt, but
you can never change it back to be inherited.
Therefore I'm suggesting a new setting (button) for each single style attribute
to make that attribute inheritable again, and I'm requesting to split style
attributes to the smallest possible level (e.g. let change the font family, font
size, font color, etc. be changed (and inherited) independently).

When creating (saving) a new version, OOo uses the current time/date as time
stamp. I would prefer if the time of the last change would be used instead.
Example scenario:
You have made changes to your document, saved it, printed it, and hand it our
for review. After a day or two you find that the document is OK the way it is,
and you decide to preserve the state as a new version.
Unfortunately the version's time stamp will be the time when the version was
created, and not when the file had been changed last.
This also happens if you save the file first, then create a new version.

While expectations may differ, I'd consider this as a bug:
Some text aligned at a right tabulator (e.g. in a header line) wraps to the next
line (left aligned) if the text's left margin exceeds the position of the centre
tabulator. While at first this may seem plausible, I'd consider that
inconsistent, because the text at the first (left) tabulator would have to wrap
for the same reason at the position of the centre tabulator.
I could also agree with the wrapping if there is actually text at the centre
tabulator, but a tabulator by itself is a non-printing character. So as nothing
happens if left-aligned text crosses a tabulator position, there should happen
nothing if a right-aligned text crosses a tabulator position (from the right).
However currently it causes a line break, just as is the tabulator stops would
define table columns.

In reply to the request of wg: I cannot remember well what I did, but I think
I was doing something with the master page's view. Maybe this is helpful as
well: After recovery the document behaved quite strange, so I quit and reloaded
the original which behaved Normal. To me this could mean some data corruption
before or during the crash. Maybe it's also relevant that the document contained
slides that originated from Microsoft Powerpoint.

Impress crashed while several other OOo documents (writer, etc.) were open. The
reason is unknown, but I have a crash dump saved. Unfortunately the PC had no
Internet connection at the time of the crash, so I'll attach it here. I hope it
helps. OS is Windows/XP SP3 (plus some additional patches). The hardware is OK.
