To reproduce: - import the attached script into a MySQL database of your choice. It will create 3 tables: priorities, projects, release - open the relation designer = the existing relation between priorities and projects is show - which is good - add the release table to the relation design = the table is shown as release, which is already wrong (also mentioned above): It should be cataolog.release - create a relation between projects.Release and release.ProductID, by dragging the first field to the second = the relation is now shown (this is the part which is fixed here), but on the projects table, the relation is connected to the ProjectID field, which is wrong - save, close, and re-open the relation-design = the relation between projects and release is now shown correctly, but the relation between projects and priorities is *not* shown anymore, which is heavily wrong. Doing a SHOW CREATE TABLE `projects` shows you that in fact the FOREIGN key is still present in the database, but it is not shown in the relation designer anymore. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Are you saying that the relationship information is stored in the backend and not in OOo itself? IOW, relationships from the relationship manager are only supported in InnoDB for mysql? Relationships in queries, etc. are supported just fine and apparently stored in the OOo file, no matter the backend. I guess, it would be advisable that OOo issue a warning from the relationship manager if a relation cannot be saved instead of quietly dropping it. I think this would be a separate issue from this one, though. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The difference between relations in a query or in the database is that you use the first one to create a result set (we can store the select statement), the other is to let the database know what to do when you enter an invalid value for a foreign key or to update this key as well. For the options just do a double click on the connection line. MySQL InnoDB supports relations (foreign keys) other not (as far as I know) Just to make it clear, only forms, report, and queries are stored inside the odb file when you connect to extern database server. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Adding two tables to the relation design adds them with the wrong window title (table_name instead of schema_name.table_name), which seems to be the root cause: Though creating a relationship between those two tables succeeds, *displaying* it seems to be confused by the wrong table names. Thus, if you save the relation design before exiting it, then the table names will also be saved, thus upon next open, they will re-appear with the wrong name, thus the relationship is not shown. If you, however, do *not* save the relation design before exiting it, then the wrong table names will not be stored. So, upon next open, the table windows will be inserted automatically (since a relationship was discovered between them). This time, they will have the proper name, and thus the relationship is shown. Confirming, assigning, targeting (to 3.1, because MySQL is affected) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
