[Amsn-devel] Pretty reproduceable WLM crash
Hi everyone, I tried with 2-3 different people and with different WLM versions, even M$N 7.5 . This looked pretty reproduceable, although it didn't happen 100% of the time. Send webcam from aMSN to WLM - works. Stop the webcam, send it again, WLM crashes. Restart WLM, send webcam from aMSN again, crashes. Restart aMSN, works until you stop it. I guess there's something wrong with the headers? -- Stay on top of everything new and different, both inside and around Java (TM) technology - register by April 22, and save $200 on the JavaOne (SM) conference, June 2-5, 2009, San Francisco. 300 plus technical and hands-on sessions. [Amsn-devel] Proposal: decreasing default font size
Hi, everyone! I know this thing might have been asked before but I thought about opening a discussion here to take a closer look at pros and cons. Here's the point: many people I know don't care about features and customization, they just take a fast look at the gui and if they don't like it, they trash it. Nothing's really wrong with the gui, aMSN is nice even if it uses Tcl/Tk. They say that font size is too big, and that they've got no space left on the screen because if they resize it they have to scroll up and down, left and right to do common actions. As you're guessing, they don't even know there's a font option in Preferences. I propose to slightly reduce the DEFAULT font size and windows resolution. What do you think about it? Re: [Amsn-devel] Proposal: decreasing default font size
the font size is correct, this problem is mostly due to people with wrong DPI settings.. search the forum, there's a thread about it. And yeah, the font size is always dependant on the DPI, the screen size, resolution, etc... On Tue, Apr 21, 2009 at 1:17 PM, Montblanc toto...@gmail.com wrote: Hi, everyone! Re: [Amsn-devel] Proposal: decreasing default font size
Thanks for your answer, kakaroto. I know what you mean, maybe I should be clearer. Let's say you hard-set your DPI to 96. Then try starting Pidgin or Kopete, launch aMSN after that and you'll notice that its font size is definitively bigger. [Amsn-devel] Contact List Emblems
Hi Guys, Today I was redesigning the CL emblems which I think it needs a modification in the actual code implementation of it. How is like now, a user/designer could never use a rounded pixmap, since the user DP is always square and it use the size of the emblem pixmap (Ex. if the emblem pixmap is 32px, the DP will be the same). So, I've designed these: http://artistic.lnxteam.org/?p=477 (despite the Spanish post, there you could see the images...) In this case, i think is a better way, the DP must fit the middle rectagle, so that any designer could design a better emblem pixmap. Plus, another detail is that must exist a offline_emblem and not to use the plain_emblem when contacts are offline (which should be called online_emblem to follow the others pixmaps names, away_... busy_...), like the one i've designed. What do you think? Cheers. -- Gustavo A. Re: [Amsn-devel] Contact List Emblems
Hi, I agree with it all.. I'd like to see some option in the skins's setting like dp_in_cl_sizeor something similar, also some options to say where (4 corners) of the 'dp frames' the dp should be... I also agree about the naming convention, it's confusing. Who wants to code it ? :) KaKaRoTo On Tue, Apr 21, 2009 at 3:22 PM, Gustavo A. Re: [Amsn-devel] Contact List Emblems
Also, I forgot... Mobile users (which currently uses mobile.png pixmap) I think it needs and emblem too in this mode. I say I think cause i don't know how WLM handles those users when offline. Since actually in aMSN, if we enable show the DP of the users, and we have mobile users, does not look right. Correct if i am wrong... how WLM look like there?
