[android-developers] How many devices can be regestred in one google buiseness account?

Hello, we whant to use android devices (5.0+) as payment/ticket terminals 
(it will be put some metallic case with peripheral hardware). We plan to 
deploy our application through google apps for work. This application will 
be device owner and will be installed first time to tablet at manufacture.

I want that our application auto updated  and  build-in Android System 
WebView (because our app builded on it). I don't what to create many gmail 
accounts, so question is how many devices can be regestred in one google 
buiseness account?

We plan to use some thousands devices (5000+).

No, this answer doesn't help because this makes it so that your app is in
promotion to ALL potential buyers. iTunes allows you to give out promo
codes while the app is still displayed at its purchase price. This solution
makes you give away your app to anyone and everyone who finds out your app
is being "promo'd". So the question again is: why does Google do this? Why
doesn't Google Play allow developers to gift as many copies of their app to
individuals as they want?

[android-developers] How to calibrate accelerometer sensor on Google Nexus 6P?

When building an application for Android, I've noticed that the rotation 
vector sensor gives readings that are off. 

The phone's rotation is reported a little bit tilted.


When investigating, I found that the accelerometer pointing along the 
x-axis is offset by approximately -0.2.


First, I assumed an hardware issue, but the issue is still present on a 
second replacement device. The issue affects all apps that use the sensor, 
including google's photosphere app. 

Is this issue known? How could I calibrate the sensor to remove the offset?

*RESPONSIBILITIES:*

   - Provide written and verbal recommendations to vendor supplied
   solutions including, but not limited to indexing, code modifications,
   process improvements and logical and physical data structures.
   - Provide technical assistance to developers, perform code reviews,
   identify inefficient code, provide suggestions for rewriting queries to
   ensure optimal execution
   - Responsible for administration, maintenance, performance monitoring
   and availability of enterprise Production SQL server environments
   - Ensure backup and recoverability of all enterprise SQL server
   databases.
   - Work with Data Architect on long term strategy to ensure integrated
   database systems.  Advise on physical data model and implement changes.
   - Responsible for capturing various database, server, and application
   metrics, observing trends that will help longer-term capacity planning and

   - Contribute to the ongoing development of technology and production
   processes company-wide.  Keep abreast of new design tools, hardware,
   software and technology and make recommendations for future deployment.
   - Participate in on-call rotation (1 week in 7)
   - Work closely with the infrastructure team to perform SQL Server
   installations and to configure hardware and software so that it functions
   optimally with the DBMS.  Plan and implement database upgrades as needed.
   - Work closely with technical PM’s and other team members to ensure
   successful project deliveries.
   - Triage/track outstanding issues, analyze root cause, provide solutions
   to minimize future occurrences
   - Ensure appropriate procedures are followed for implementation of data
   and database changes.
   - Develop and adhere to common database standards and procedures within
   a production operations unit.  Maintain documentation related to database
   platforms, guidelines, methods and standards.
   - Lead projects and efforts driven by database systems, such as
   upgrades, database appliance and consolidation.
   - Provide technical leadership.  Mentor junior DBA’s on the team on
   database technical details.

Thanks for the replies guys. I thought the problem would be on androids 
side of things. I resolved the issue by just not using order id when 
validating the receipt for test purchases. Which in it's self is ridiculous 
cause now the test purchase and actual purchases don't follow the same flow.

I'm looking for examples about MediaSync implementation if someone know 
about it.

Anyway I'm trying to sync 2 audio channels with a video for panning each 
from left to right independently.
Maybe there's an easier way to do so but i cant find it. Maybe i'll get 
better chance here

[android-developers] Deny auto close for captive portal dialog on android devices

Hello,

I'm the senior developer of an wifi project offering free internet access 
to citizen in some regions.

Now on newer Android devices we are facing the problem that the captive 
portal dialogue gets closed as soon as the hotspot has unlocked full 
internet access for a wifi client.
For legal reasons a client must accept some terms before he gets full 
internet access for a period of time (24h for example).
But we also offer a free app so the user can get much longer access 
including roaming between different cities.

Therefore we would like to forward the user automatically to the Play store 
if he optionally selects "install app" in our captive portal dialogue. 

But if we unlock the clients session first and trigger a forward 
afterwards, Android detects free wifi access and closes the captive portal 
dialogue immediately.
The other way round, if we would just white list the Play store we could 
forward the client to our app entry but its now not possible to complete 
the login process because we cannot route him back.

Does anybody knows a possible solution so that we will be able to login the 
client but also to trigger a forward on click to the Play store without 
getting auto closed as soon as android detects full internet access?
