Re: Using a BIRT Editor to Create or Modify Web Reports
Hi, I have tried to follow the instructions but when I get to the stage of downloading the BIRT Resources.zip file I can't as this form on my 7.6.04 server is empty. Does anyone know if this Resources.zip file can be obtained elsewhere or at what point during the installation of 7.6.04 this file is loaded into the system. Do I need to do a re-install of the server? Thanks. Issue in AIE
Hi Listers, I'm trying to load CIs from CSV to BMC_ComputerSystem using AIE, I have 84 Field mappings in CI Class Mapping and 1000 records in CSV. I have one AIE instance running on server. I'm facing 2 issues here 1) Everytime I try to run the Data Exchange the AIE instance stops mid way. The data exchange.dbg log stops after Setting field values of Target for mappings. Then, I tried to create a new AIE instance and try the same but stuck with another error. 2) Unable to create AIE instances from AIE Console - Configuration - Instances. It throws an error Set fields active link running a process failed -Begin LogInfoToFile . This occurs when running aiexfer utility to create instance. aiexferutil.out log shows the following, Not sure why it checks for ar.cfg in aie directory. Re: LoadRunner User simulation
But also be careful not to oversimplify your tests. If for example testing focuses on Incident Management, one transaction would normally be new incident creation and test would need to create a valid new incident regardless of the type of testing. Running concurrent ITSM transactions does not mean that sending static HTTP requests (hard coded data) will be sufficient as this would most likely generate a significant number of application level errors clouding the overall performance picture (to continue with the old fashioned use of the word :). Tests transactions also need to be valid for things like automatic ticket assignment or SLA (in my incident creation example) to be invoked correctly making test results more relevant. Choice of testing tool should not drive testing requirements and it is best to start with what is required outcome of the testing and only then look at the tooling. While it may be possible to use a generic HTTP testing tool to load test Mid Tier, data encoding and AR specific response validation complicate things quite significantly. Things are much better with one of the AR specific web testing tools that can handle ITSM Back Channel calls seamlessly and choice there is Scapa TPP or Silk. ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug12 www.wwrug12.com ARSList: Where the Answers Are

Hi, We can have solution as below to achieve this. Take a Configuration form (Regular Form) to store Form Name, View Name and View Access Count. Insert a record of each Views along with Form Name and View Access Count =0 respectively in the config form. Create a display only field (say z1d_Count) on the form for which view access count has to be calculated. Workflow- Write an Active link on Window Open Execution Option Action 1- Set field form the Configuration form (z1d_Count = 'View Access Count') Search qualification - 'Form Name' = $SCHEMA$ AND 'View Name' = $VUI$ Action 2 - Push field to configuration form (View Access Count=$z1d_Count$ + 1) qualification-- 'Form Name' = $SCHEMA$ AND 'View Name' = $VUI$ Action 3 - Set field form the Configuration form (z1d_Count = 'View Access Count') Search qualification - 'Form Name' = $SCHEMA$ AND 'View Name' = $VUI$ HTH -- Regards, ITSM Support Vyom Labs Pvt. SRM Data Visualization Module
Hi List, We are currently in the process of moving to 7.6.4 and with it we have a new look and feel for SRM. Unfortunately, not everyone is a fan of the new look especially with how the Title and Description of our Services is being cut off. So far I have been unable to find much in the way for documentation on how to modify this look. I have found the Jar file within the Data Visualization Module form and have found what I believe to be a data limitation within browse-services.js. In particular the section below function truncateDescriptions() { var divs = document.getElementsByTagName('div'); if (divs divs.length 0) { for (var d=0; ddivs.length; d++) { if (divs[d].className == categoryDescription) { var desc = divs[d].innerHTML; var trunc = truncateByBytesUTF8(desc, 240); if (trunc.length desc.length) { divs[d].innerHTML = trunc + #133;; Also, I have seen the Data Visualization Definitions form and the .CSS and gif files for the SRM module. We have tweaked those files a bit and have lengthened the Title return and the length of the Description as well though I believe the actual data return of the description is limited by the JS above. Also, we have yet to discover where to modify the boxes to enlarge them to fit the longer return fields. We tried modifying the size of the .gif; however, that did not seem to work. My questions are this: - Does anyone know of any documentation that would assist us in making changes to the SRM DVM? - Does anyone know if modifying the .js statement above would increase the amount of data we were returning for the Description of the services? - Does anyone know how to modify the box size? I'm thinking there is something in the .CSS that we have missed. I appreciate your time and any suggestions anyone has. JSESSIONID will track each unique user session. Ideally, your load balancer should create it's own cookie to track the session. This will be the most reliable means of keeping the right user on the same mid-tier server. Re: Request for expertise on BMC Web login cookies
One problem with IP based solutions is that when part of your user base is behind a NAT, they all get directed to the same server. Never used the HTTP header method, but from what I'm reading, unless you have a situation that warrants an HTTP header, writing iRules is probably more work to implement. I've always opted for the Cookie Insert method because it doesn't care about reverse proxies, source IP address (NAT issue), and is easy to configure. My 2 cents. Returning to Remedy after a long hiatus
Hello listers- Some of you might possibly remember me from several years ago when I was working at a large national retailer. I was only able to devote about 30% of my time to Remedy and after several years of trying to convince management that IT could provide many more benefits to the company as a whole (and not just IT) I finally gave up on repeating my message to deaf ears. Fast forward quite a few years and I've left that retailer to work as a full-time developer with QMX. I am very happy to be back but I've got a lot to learn not only on the current version of ARS (we were still on 7.0.1 at my old shop) but also learning ITSM from the ground up. Fast forward quite a few years and I've left that retailer to work as a full-time developer with QMX. I am very happy to be back but I've got a lot to learn not only on the current version of ARS (we were still on 7.0.1 at my old shop) but also learning ITSM from the ground up. I will be lurking here and trying to get back to my old habit of picking up bits of knowledge here and there by reading posts to the list. -Rick __ Rick Westbrock Remedy Developer QMX Support Systems ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug12 www.wwrug12.com ARSList: Where the Answers Are ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug12 www.wwrug12.com ARSList: Where the Answers Are ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug12 www.wwrug12.com ARSList: Where the Answers Are

Atrium Reporting
Is there a good way to report on a collection of Assets and the CI history/audit in one report? I know how to view changes to things like status on an asset by asset basis. And I can imagine how to develop a join form or crystal report to show status changes to a collection of assets. But is there an out of the box report or query that will provide a list of information that shows a collection of assets and the changes to those assets? ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org attend wwrug12 www.wwrug12.com ARSList: Where the Answers Are
