Re: Web Services installation 1805

2019-05-13 Thread Rafael Rodriguez
Hello Ben,

Is this a Server Group environment? See documentation link
https://docs.bmc.com/docs/brid/1805/installing-bmc-atrium-core-web-services-components-813429826.html

- You cannot install BMC Atrium Web services directly in a server group.
BMC recommends to install BMC Atrium Web Services on a separate machine and
then configure it for the server group.

Re: Smart Reporting

2019-01-09 Thread Rafael Rodriguez
Julie the formatting capabilities are available within Smart Reporting to
populate values from Remedy Data. However, what is currently not available
or supported is to execute a search in Remedy/ITSM and have search
parameters passed to Smart Reporting as Crystal Reports did when using
Macros or Active Links that opened certain reports.

As long as Reports are created in Smart Reporting with interactive
parameters, end users can provide information to filter report and provide
search criteria which can then format report with data from Remedy.

Re: Remedy 9.0 SQL requirements

2015-10-21 Thread Rafael Rodriguez
Ryan, take a look at the following link. I believe this will provide
information your looking for to make a decision.

Remedy 9.0 benchmark report has some data where we compared physical SQL
server to a VM. Essentially we saw similar performance and therefore using
a VM for a small or medium type of environment as a database server should
be okay. For production environment we recommend not to over-subscribe
resources and map (1-1 mapping) one VCPU to one physical core.

Re: Upgrade advice

2015-10-20 Thread Rafael Rodriguez
Hello Victoria,

There are several factors here that are unknown at the moment. For example,
if your customizations are tied to certain integrations or are they just
stand alone customizations within your environment. Or are some of your
customization tied to any of the OOTB ITSM apps?

Without getting into all the details what is your ARS platform version?
8.1.02? If you created all you custom objects using Dev stuidio "Best
Practice" then all you customizations will be available after upgrade to
9.0. That being said, it is highly recommended that you run the Pre-Checker
utility before each component and address any issues that it
discovers..ESPECIALLY fields ids created in reserve range.

Hello Suresh,

If you installed Analytics it should have created a shell form called

reason why you see the Analytics label in the flyout application list. As
part of the Analytics install an active link should have been created called

Business Objects/Analytics Questions

Hello list,

1) If a user attempts to copy a report object from one folder to the next

have verified that it is infact up and restarted service and machine
several times and still no luck. We have also tried several things that
were suggested online with no success. If I or any other user logs into via
CMC and tries to perform same action then it works just fine.

2) If a user attempts to view Instance history of a report that was
generated in either PDF/EXCEL via Infoview they get an error indicating
file is not of the correct format. If they try to view a WEBI instance they
can view with no issues. Again, if user logs in via CMC they are able to
view PDF/EXCEL instance just fine.

Ron like several have mentioned previously, since the form is already
overlaid you can not convert to base. However, the reason all the properties
are gray and you can not modifiy them is because although the form is
overlaid the view may have not been overlaid and this also can be causing
your difference in behavior between User and Mid-tier.

NOTE: Remember in 7.6.4 there are several layers of overlays, First you MUST
overlay the form, then the view, then each object that needs to be edited
must also be overlaid. I believe in 8.1 dev studio handles overlays a lot
better by creating the view and field overlays when you choose to overlay a
form.

So to some up, overlay the view and fields as needed and flush mid-tier
cache and you should be good to go.

No, if this is a 'base' form, and you want to add a field, you would
add a Custom field in Best Practice Modeyou should almost never need to
go into Base mode, certainly not to add a field.

Regarding it not showing up in Mid-Tier properly. Remember that
your web server gets its cache from the app server. I have seen people
describe scenarios where they make the change on the primary in a server
group, and then later find that one of the secondary servers didn't
're-cache', and mid-Tier was getting the cache from THAT server, so it
wasn't all sync'dso, if you have multiple servers, ensure that they all
have the latest definitions, then flush your Mid-Tier cache on all nodes,
then flush your local browser cache. There has to be a reason why it's not
showing properly, but unless you have some weird configs (which do exist),
it shouldn't be because there are fields in Overlay/Custom.

I could have access to make sure the cache was flushed so I could see if
that changes anything. I have already cleared my browser cache, history, etc
and that didn't change anything. I know we will be going to strictly
mid-tier in the spring so I want to make sure everything is good.

Check this.all though this is overlaid form.if I want to add a field
I have to do it in base mode.is that right? I'll check on that too though.

We are looking customize it so the 2nd tier either looks similar to Category 1 display or at least looks presentable.

We are using SRM 7.6.4 SP3

Username Alias in Atrium SSO 8.1

2013-03-12 Thread Rafael Rodriguez
Hello list,

Just wondering to see if there is an option in Atrium SSO product to
define an alias username. I know there is the alias login name field
in User form that can be used, but wanted to know if there was an
option that can be controlled from within Atrium SSO?

Use case: I have enabled kerberos authentication against AD with
multiple domains and currently users are stored as Username_Domain
name in AD but in remedy they are just Username without domain. Again,
I know I can resolve this using the Login Name Alias field in Remedy
but for any other SSO integrations I wanted to know if it was feasible
to do on the Atrium side?

Thanks in advance.

I’m looking online to see possible causes of http 500 errors but so far

I suspect it may be a permissions issue somewhere, but I’ve noticed that
both my AR Server as well as my web server (two separate boxes) have their

Re: Qualification syntax question

2012-12-13 Thread Rafael Rodriguez
Tauf this is normal behavior from AR. Now that you are explicitly
excluding 'Remedy Login ID' the system ONLY looks for where this value
is not equal to $NULL$ so you will need to change the qualification
to:

AND ('Remedy Login ID' != $\USER$ OR 'Remedy Login ID' = $\NULL$)

HTH,

Rafael

I have a service that has to do with access. Of course, the requirement is
that the submitter should not be able to pick themselves as someone who
needs to get access. There are search menus that allow the submitter to
narrow down to the person who needs access. The last menu is called Full
Name and it does a lookup on the People form. Without the requirement of the
submitter being unable to pick themselves, the menu works fine. However,
when I add the following to the qualification:

AND 'Remedy Login ID' != $\USER$

my requirement is met but with side effects. The submitter cannot see their
name in the drop down but the side effect is that any user who has a $NULL$
value in the Remedy Login ID field doesn't show up either. How is it that
the above string also includes null values?

 Folks,

 Just to be clear….

This is not an AR or SRM topic. It is a Relational Database query topic.

NULL is a value. It means that there is no value.

So, if you search for something in ANY relational database and specify a
criteria, unless you explicitly test for

NULL values, NULL values will not match.

Yes, this seems weird that NULL will not match when you say does not
equal a specific value. But, that is

 the nature of relational queries.

no value does not match and does not NOT match ANYTHING. It can only be
 tested for NULL.

ANY qualification where the value in the DB is NULL will return a FALSE for
 that portion of the qualification

unless the qualification is specifically to test for NULL.

Just something to keep in mind whenever you are querying a database.

You are correct, this happens throughout AR not just SRM. Now that you are
excluding based on 'Remedy Login ID' you will have to explicitly include
 $NULL$ in the query.

 Something like:
AND ('Remedy Login ID' != $\USER$ OR 'Remedy Login ID' = $\NULL$)

Vertical Nav Fields

2007-02-18 Thread Rafael Rodriguez
Hello,

Has anyone expeirenced the following behavior with Vertical Navigation
Fields?

AR Server 7.0.1
User Client 7.0.1
Server OS 2003
Client OS XP

I have created a Vertical Nav Field and defined the menu items gave all
public permission. I also craeted an active link to fire when selecting a
menu item. When I select the item from the user tool the user tool crashes.

Any ideas?

PS. I have turned on Active Link logging and nothing get logged even the
action on click of the menu item does not get logged.

Thanks

Rafael
