Re: Post Upgrade - Server Information is empty

2013-08-14 Thread Sanford, Claire
When creating workflow for a form that has a “'z1D Action” field, are the
actions predefined somewhere in the system or can I just put my own word in the
qualification and if the 'z1D Action' = “MyWord” the workflow will fire?

Thanks!

Please have a check on remedy plugins and java process are loaded properly. If
not, that could make the server information empty once the server is up.

Tauf,

Sorry for the delayed response. I was travelling yesterday. So, I've been
banging my head trying to remember where I saw this, and I haven't been able
to dig it up. The issue stems from the way that Remedy takes the hostname
and determines the domain and plugs the two together. So, in the past, I've
seen places where you'll see in the logs something like, Failure to connect
to hostname.domain.name.domain.name. What my group has started doing is
ensuring that the following values are set properly, and then using the
hostname (shortname) in the Plugin-Server-Alias value.

Server-Name: short server name

Server-Connect-Name: FQDN of Server

Both of the following KBs reference the issue/solution as well. KA316519,

Hope that helps!

Yesand I thought I would pass on a config parameter I found yesterdayin
the ar.cfg (ar.conf) you can specify 'Domain-Name' (not sure what version this
was introduced, I'm reading 7.5 docs) that allows you to specify a domain name
instead of allowing Remedy to pull it from the NIC (or wherever it gets
it)handy :)

I agree with Matt, I've had this problem before and found the solution
through the plugin logs. The problem was that there was stuff on the form
that didn't work properly. I corrected by manually re-importing the Server
Administration def file from the upgrade and telling it to delete extra
fields/views, this cleaned up the form and allowed it to work properly.

Subject: Post Upgrade - Server Information is empty

 **
 Hi List

We are upgrading our ARS 7.1 to ARS 7.6.04 SP2 , the installer runs fine
but we have noticed that most time the server information becomes blank.
The services come up and the host id is shown on the license console. But
server information remains empty, we have tried restarting ar server as
 well as ar plugin services.

But still the server information remains blank, anyone experience the same
 issue.

 ARS 7.1 upgrade to ARS 7.6.04 SP2

 DB - Oracle 10.2

 OS - Solaris 9

 Thanks
 Jaya
