Hello,Im totally failing at this game, which is new to me. I cant seem to block the first guy, I either hit the arrow too fast or too late. I cant seem to strike him, either.Is there something specific I should be trying, or just the alternative blocking/attacking?Also, is it just my version, or does anyone else not know when they try facing another direction? I try pressing my left and right arrows, but I dont hear any difference in the sounds.

Yo all! Ive finily cracked another bug, enjoy going at super fast speeds with out needing to worry about your ship losing speed! Speaking of this, I really think we should have a system of the faster you go, if you happen to cross paths with an asteroid or planet or mediur for that matter, it should be able to do considerable amounts of damage or destroy your ship if your going super fast.

I started downloading from the BTSync folder, but saw a duplicate.I know its a duplicate and not a different version because it was the same person describing.There are two versions of 1 BC, one is writtern with a comma while the other isnt.Call me picky, but when you have limited space, the last thing you want are duplicate files.

I have a few comments about the new soundpacks that were just uploaded.Crazy Keyboard is nice, the sound when you lose is quite humorous, and, for a short pack, its very cool.I like the Top Speed pack, but I feel like the layout of the keys is off. I feel like tab should be easy left, and space should be easy right, but maybe thats just me.The guilty pleasure packs were...not what I was expecting at all. Maybe Im naïve, but I thought it was gonna be something like disco music. People often call stuff like that guilty pleasures, so I was in for a shock. Dont worry, Im not offended or anything, but, being a straight female, they turned out to not be my cup of tea. Still, to whoever created them, way to use wordplay to your advantage.I have a problem with Into the Woods. It sounds interesting, and I want to play it. But each time I hit start game, it exits instead. Anyone else experiencing this?Finally, I know Im way late on this, but the original Double Dragon pack is awesome! Its a bit of a letdown that it uses the default Smack Me sounds, but it kinda works, in an odd way. Plus, the retro atmosphere totally makes up for it.

This is good news. Despite its flaws and bugs i loved Entombed. I do hope more skills will actuall be useful in the sequel. I never understood the logic behind the Thief having the ability to pick locks but not to find hidden things, especially since you essentially couldnt use one without the other.

O hell yes! Entombed 2? Awesome, I love Entombed, and while, yes, it does have bugs and gameplay issues, its still amazing.Id begun to fear that Entombed would never be updated, that dungen creator was still just sitting there unfinished, and from what I saw in the bazarre, people were starting to lose interest.An update that possibly allows for more races and jobs, more spells for mage and techniques for fighters, boosts some of the races and jobs to be more useful and others to be lowered in power to balance them out, fixes some bugs such as quests not always showing up in the tavern even if they should, unidentified items not always being detected by shopkeepers, that random thing where you cant pick up anything that drops on the floor and every time you grab one of the auto dropped items like potions, arrows, or scrolls, it just multiplies by 2 every time and stays there on the ground for you to pick up again, weapons that are cursed
  with zombie rot, parallise, etc not actually applying that damage, and the lack of support for NVDA all being worked on would be amazing.If you want anyone for beta testing, just ask, and I wish you good luck. Cant wait to see what you come up with!

I discovered this Mud when I was doing an unrelated search in this forum. So I checked it out, and its interesting. There are different races and classes than Ive seen before, as well as a unique combination of themes. There are the usual villains and monsters, but then you also kill creatures as varied as Homer Simson, Edgar Rice Burrows, Napoleon, Disney characters, and pirates. And thats just the low levels.

ive tried it out before, but I lost my interest after a short while for some reason. Its kinda like aartwolf, for some reason. And what you do most of the time is questing, which is just about the same as Aartwolf. Theres no side quest, or if I know, there might be a few, but its not anything you can find easily. its like Ive jumped in a world full of battle and thats it. The only thing i like about this mud is the fact that you can become anything even zombie. Im a zombie addict, dont mind me.

Adds update checking, fixxed screen reader interrupt, a couple streets on the radiated city, an ambience on the radiated city, more in the readme, and I cant think off the top of my head what it is now. You must download it to keep playing, the server wont let you on otherwise.

This is a problem with general roguelike games too. Exploring the level is often tedious. One of my favorite roguelike games, Dungeon Crawl, actually has a button you can press to have your character auto-explore the dungeon. Im considering something like that. Or some game design idea that removes the tedium from walking around empty halls trying to find your way out.As for modding spoiling the game, thats true. One thing thats hard for developers to do, is just let players have fun however they want. So, if its fun for you to make the game easier (or harder) then who am I to argu
 e with that? You have the choice whether you want to play the game unmodded or change it. The benefit comes from players not just making the game super easy, but from extending it and changing it in new ways. So you win the game unmodded, then install someones mod and you have a whole new game to play.Another benefit to having the data available for everyone, is anyone can translate the game to their native language. I had a lot of requests for that for Entombed, but the text was scattered everywhere. Some in executable, some in the database, for example. I tried to export the text, but it only slowed the game down.Cheers!Jason

Well, there have been a few things going on here, though not necessarily for the better. My parents may be going through a divorce, which is bad enough, and Im starting to think about moving, being as Im now eighteen, and already feel like I should be doing much more than I am right now. I just filled out an application for the college I plan to attend (I shouldve done this much sooner, as graduation is a bit less than two months away) and so if Im going anywhere anytime soon it will probably be an apartment over there. Ive become even more discouraged with high school, and dont think Ill be going to my graduation. Ive accomplished essentially nothing in the past few years, and feel like I actually may have been a better and more intelligent person when I started high school than I am now. I dont feel right going to a ceremony thats supposed to symbolize the beginning of the transition from youth into a responsible, produ
 ctive adult, when I feel anything but, also I really dont feel like listening to all the popular, pretty, ambitious but shallow 4.0 students at the top of my class give their speeches about how theyre so excited for the future, how theyre just oh so happy and everyone else needs to be exactly as they are as well, that all you need is a passion, that you can do anything you want if you put your mind to it, yada, yada, yada. I seem to have only grown more directionless; from all the research Ive done, it seems like a career in technology is a rat race, and I want to do something where I can actually help people and make a positive difference in peoples lives. Hopefully Ill find whatever it is I want to do in college, but Im not very optomistic, as high school has for the most part just been one discouragement after another.On a more positive note, Ive just found out that Symphony X will be touring in my state in October, and hope I
 ll be able to see them; theyre also going to release a new album sometime soon, which Im very much looking forward to.Ive never been much into fantasy literature, it just never seems to catch my interest, and Im not sure that will change anytime soon. I might try and give a Song of Ice and Fire another go in the future, but for now Im pretty occupied when it comes to books. Im about to start Paradise Lost, All the Light We Cannot See which is about a blind girl in World War II occupied France, and the Foundations trilogy by Isaac Asimov. Im sure this will be interesting.I finished Were Alive a while ago and liked it, though its definitely not one of my favorites. For one, Im just generally not a fan of those types of appocalypse stories, I.E. violence, constant non-stop fast-paced action usually involving a lot of gun sounds, rushed romances, gangs, brutal survivalism, insert monster/natural disaster here,
  so a lot of its probably just me. That being said it was a nice story, and I like that the characters actually developed and had emotions. One of the things I disliked though was that there wasnt a whole lot of background for them; after listening to just a few episodes of Leviathan I knew a lot more about the lives of the major characters than you ever find out about most of them in WA. Also the ending was just sad, and felt almost totally hopeless. Im anxiously awaiting new releases from Leviathan and Edict Zero, the latter of which should have a new episode out shortly. Speaking of the Leviathan Chronicles, there hasnt been an update for over five months now, has anyone heard anything. Also, what are some other good similar-quality audio dramas? I know there have been some topics about this in the past, but theyre very long and I dont feel like looking through all of them.One last thing, which I hope isnt too inappropriate for the 
 topic being as its a technology question. What are some good GPS apps for iOS/Android? I know about Blindsquare and Nearby Explorer, but they cost money, and there are a bunch of free ones out there such as the Sendero one, which I am wondering are any good. Ok. So a lot of stuffs happened that hasnt been covered on here. Where do I start...Even though people have been spoiling the game for a while now, Ive managed to keep out of the way of the majority of it - as far as I can recall Ive only heard one spoiler. Even then, that was a minor detail in the grand scheme of things.The final pre-launch Kombat Kast, dubbed The Final Kountdown, was one of the most solid ones for a while I think because they just stuck to fights and character breakdowns. However, it still puzzles me that they havent solved the mystery of the gameplay output being in mono. Part of me thinks that noones noticed... This would be interesting as they focus on sound a fair amount in the game development process and youd think theyd want to show that off in all its gory glory. Theyve probably tweaked a setting or two and thats thrown it all out tho
 ugh, thats a likely explanation at least.You can find it here but as usual it takes a while to start up. Also, a word in advance: dont just stop listening after the belt fights: theres more. Thats all Ill say.Additionally, the steam unlock is apparently scheduled for midday U.s rather than a Midnight launch like the console versions, as shown in this reddit thread. All I can say is Im glad Ive ordered the console version as well as PC.So whose going to be maining who for MKX and variations etc? I dont mind if you dont have a conclusive answer, just want to get a feel for the amount of different characters people are likely to play.

Hi guys,Entombed is still being sold at the moment, but, due to its complexity (really, really complex mangled code) I could never get it as compatible as I wanted. I wrote it over a span of two years and in that time I think it touched on just about every .Net technology available at the time. It has internet connectivity, local databases, binary save files, and all kinds of intertwined code.It was a bear. Fortunately, I learned a lot making it and always planned a sequel.Right after I completed Entombed I had a few hit mobile apps and games. They take of the majority of my time now, but Im trying to edge in a sequel.This community is the greatest Ive had the luxury of being a part of. Hello.Ive tested this game out, its really good for a concept demo, or a beta, and you dont lack ideas nor suggestions from an excited Community neither.Of course therere the minor bugs, inconveniences and things that could be changed here and there but thats only expected.Im sure this one has been reported already, but the most annoying part is scanning, because everytime a server message appears (chat, sunset etc etc) the screen reader stops.Ive got a few suggestions and crazy ideas, take them for what they are and dont stress yourself too much, youre doing a great job. Anyway, here they are:1: this is a long shot, but as we hopefully get more maps and areas to explore, and as people survive more and more if you get what I mean, people start Dividing themselves into Groups of players. (the implementation is not thought over yet).On the Island where you start out itd be either a free zone for pk or completely pk-forbidden (probably pk free because of the newbies), and as you travel around these Little Groups of people have places with resorces, such as one Group might get the mountain area that comes from the Island (maybe expand that thing). In these zones you couldnt attack anyone from your own Group, or else youd kinda be disliked and possibly thrown out of the Community / Group / w/e I didnt Think this through yet. Then theres of course the neutral pk zones, say in the future you find places with a lot of resorces, and then itd make sense (wait Groups cant still shoot each other?). Anyway therell be solo people, löners that dont like others (such as myself ), and yeah you basically have a Group / solo zone there. And you can go into Another groups area and attack them for supplies and stuff.This is just a concept and shit.2: Id love to be able to select a player or item from a list and only target that one specifically, so I can properly target someone to kill and not have to hear (laeg at bla bla bla, ilovecheese at bla bla bla, target at bla bla bla).3: more area to explore!  I like the idea of a trade city, and uh... idk.Just got it out there! Bam!

Tentative Entombed 2 Design Decisions

Right, lets do this!Ive been working on and off a sequel for Entombed for a little while, and Im fairly certain about some aspects of the new game that I thought Id share and get feedback on.First, I love Entombed. I was a much less experienced programmer when I wrote it, and as a result (Im sure the players are aware) it has some annoying bugs that I couldnt ever really get rid of entirely. For the sequel, tentatively titled The Skeleton Tower, Im going to try and avoid some of the unnecessary complexity of the original. Hopefully keep it cleaner and less bug prone.Entombed 2 is going to be designed from the ground up to be moddable by the community. I think this will give a lot of longevity. You should be able to add your own monsters and items, and possibly even skills, spells, and player characters. I will definitely make a Windows version, but Im also hoping to have a Mac version too. It

Im so, s glad that someone is keeping the modding community in mind! Most mainstream games out there are designed to be quite moddable indeed, so its been quite disappointing to me that a lot of developers nowadays make their games in a very closed fashion. Perhaps theyre afraid of people stealing their sounds, which I suppose is a valid concerned, but I nevertheless felt that being able to add or change the sfx with ones of my own choosing made the game far more personal to me. Looking forward to any further updates to this.

Most PC games are released on Steam and the ones that enable modding with Steam Workshop are generally more successful than those that dont. I dont believe there are any drawbacks allowing a community to change your game. Valve has said that a community of players altering and adding content to your game will dramatically extend it in ways you couldnt possibly do on your own. I agree with that.

Actually, most mainstream games are not designed to be moddable... console versions arent at all, and pc versions are usually hacked which is where the mods begin... I dont know about skyrim, but for most games developers dont exactly endorse mods. However, Im looking forward to seeing this... Im not a fan of the idea of not using other screen readers, since Ive seen plenty of games that have at least support for one and are perfectly portable, but not being a programmer, who am I to say? lol I also agree that if there is a main story, monsters and their abilities should be hardcoded. If you want the flexibility of difficulty to be there, difficulty levels should be an option. Just my opinions though.

Hello.Ive tested this game out, its really good for a concept demo, or a beta, and you dont lack ideas nor suggestions from an excited Community neither.Of course therere the minor bugs, inconveniences and things that could be changed here and there but thats only expected.Im sure this one has been reported already, but the most annoying part is scanning, because everytime a server message appears (chat, sunset etc etc) the screen reader stops.Ive got a few suggestions and crazy ideas, take them for what they are and dont stress yourself too much, youre doing a great job. Anyway, here they are:1: this is a long shot, but as we hopefully get more maps and areas to explore, and as people survive more and more if you get what I mean, people start Dividing themselves into Groups of players. (the implementation is not thought over yet).On the Island where you start out itd be either a free zone for pk or completely pk-forbidden (probably pk free because of the newbies), and as you travel around these Little Groups of people have places with resorces, such as one Group might get the mountain area that comes from the Island (maybe expand that thing). In these zones you couldnt attack anyone from your own Group, or else youd kinda be disliked and possibly thrown out of the Community / Group / w/e I didnt Think this through yet. Then theres of course the neutral pk zones, say in the future you find places with a lot of resorces, and then itd make sense (wait Groups cant still shoot each other?). Anyway therell be solo people, löners that dont like others (such as myself ), and yeah you basically have a Group / solo zone there. And you can go into Another groups area and attack them for supplies and stuff.This is just a concept and shit.2: Id love to be able to select a player or item from a list and only target that one specifically, so I can properly target someone to kill and not have to hear (laeg at bla bla bla, ilovecheese at bla bla bla, target at bla bla bla).3: more area to explore!  I like the idea of a trade city, and uh... idk.Just got it out there! Bam!Edit:Oh yea, you cant switch keyboard layout during the game. I start out with a Swedish keyboard layout but when I play games I prefer to use the american keyboard for obvious reasons, and pressing alt + shift does that for me on both nvda and jaws (idk what it is). Its pretty annoying to play with a Swedish keyboard layout since to do a / you have to press shift 7, oh not to forget we have the special characters such as ä å ö which gets in the way of  ; and [. Also, can we get a text box when we type instead of a consol or whatever that is. Similarly as in swamp.

I agree that there should be some limits. E.G. one thought I had would be to let the player mod the game all he likes, then when he wants to play, he generates a dungeon based on the mods then in effect. In this way, he cant cheat by doing the game modding equivalent of:Oh [[wow]] this dragon is way too hard to kill Ill just go in and fix that right now dragon.health=1 okay now Ill just have my weakest character hit it with his weakest weapon and...Okay thats done were all still here lets move on.

Actually spanish people dont have a translated version, they might as well as other langs, but that hasnt really been done yet. I will add seperate OOC channels if you wish. That would berily require a client update, but I might make a sound for that it happens. I do like the idea though. @dingo, yeah, that is true. Modding is certainly not a bad thing, I just think there should be limits is all. I didnt know about steam workshop... thats actually kind of cool, though I dont think big name companies like Capcom, Activision and the like encourage modding, even though it may happen. too much modding can break a game, especially anything thats multiplayer. I agree to an extent with what Valve says, I just think that there should be allowances only to a certain point, as Jaybird said as well.

Hi all,does anyone have personal experience with the Piwik web analytics platform?Recently I installed it on my domain as well as the domain of my girlfriends blog, as we both use the same local shared webhosting service. We use PHP 5.6.5 with 128 mb memory limit, max execution time of 90 seconds, I believe, and a maximum of 5 simultaneously running PHP processes. I dont know too much about the MySQL part, except that there is no limit to the size or count of the databases you use, as long as their total size doesnt exceed 1 gb, and that a recent version of MySQL is used and that the database can be accessed either through the MySQL, MySQLI or PdO adapters.Yeah, and the webhosting also runs 100% on SSD drives.Both of us also use the same Firefox browser, the latest stable version with merely a few enabled addons such as web Visum, Flash or the itunes Application Detector plugin. I also have silverlight, Firebug and iCloud Bookmarks, not 
 sure about the status of these on her part off the top of my head.Finally, we both use the latest development snapshot of NVDA.The really serious problem which is exactly the same for both of us, except that she uses a different, more resource demanding Sapi 5 voice whereas I use Espeak, is that no matter what I try and how I attempt to configure either Piwik installation, they both lag immensely all the time, so much that it makes further usage of the same already loaded webpage impossible after a while. The lag can get so bad that it may take up to 10 seconds for NVDA to provide any audible feedback to a key press. sometimes it takes less time to reach such a level, sometimes it takeslonger, but in either case I was not able to discover any regular reproduceable pattern in this odd behavior yet.I have tried using both the default PDO database adapter as well as MySQLI, to configure the session save handler to use a database table, I have set every widget where i
 t allowed me to do so to display as a simple table, I have disabled many of them including the one that displays visitors in realtime, I have enabled, disabled and reenabled the APC, Eaccelerator and Xcache opcode caches that the webhost provides and makes it possible to configure them, I have created a bootstrap.php that sets the always_populate_raw_post_data directive to -1 with ini_set as the Piwik installer and system check complain about this setting all the time and I cannot modify this option directly in any other way through the webhosts admin interface, I have basically tried every single thing I could think of that could have anything in the slightest to do with the possible cause of the lag, and even a few others that were just pure despair attempts without any rational reason. Still, nothing seems to work.So, has anyone else seen anything like this yet? Any idea what might be causing this? What I find the most strange is that the lag does occur even on the a
 dministration and settings pages, where, as far as I understand it, no widgets should be loaded in real-time and no reports should be processed from the database.I have an installation of CMS Made Simple running on my server and her blog runs on Wordpress without any issues whatsoever.We do have the hourly archiving web cron configured.Ill be happy to provide further details if you need them.Many thanks for any possible answers in advance!Lukas

Will there still be a story mode? If so then all monsters should be hardcoded for that mode. Sounds maybe not though, thatd be cool if you could mod those at least in story mode. I do like the idea of game modding but Im not sure what you could do with it. Unless you undertook the arduous task of custom creating a dungeon of your own, which I know some people here would probably do.Its good to see that your experience is allowing you to program less buggy stuff. That was one of the big reasons I didnt recommend people buy Entombed. Hard to say, but true.What about gameplay mechanics? There were some big balance issues in etnombed 1 and Im interested on how you plan to fix those up.

I did that already, and its working now. Seams like rh voice doesnt like windows 8 or something.Ill have to contact olga yacovlini (the creator of rh voice) about the issue. I was going to use it as the voice of a Russian scientist.

The controls are, for the most part fine apart from the brake not working. Turning is different to top speed, but to those who are crashing, youll get used to how it works if you play for long enough.There still needs to be some work done but the games looking very awesome. The engine frequency doesnt seem to reset at the moment and it seems to always go up. If you crash your car, the pitch of it doesnt actually go down which is quite weird and it also seems to continue raising every time you drive down a hill.I definitely like the fact theres track scenery. This is something that was missing in audio racing games up to now and the fact theres things like jumps.

the side lasers allow you to shoot in directions perpendicular to the one you are facing. For example, if you ar facing north, you will also shoot east, and west. The nuclear bomb will destroy all walls on the map.

I would really look forward to a new entombed game. I really liked the original game, but it did get a little borning, even with all the split paths. I would have liked to add my own monsters, and or skills to the game, so this sounds like a great idea.

Thats strange I didnt have to do that.for a while I wasnt able to play an audio game like swamp because certain settings were checked and I needed to uncheck them in the G930 audio properties from the control pannel.For example, once I unchecked the rear speakers box, I was able to hear zombies moving around in a full stereo field. As before, I heard them, but there was no way to correctly target them. lol Id miss every time as I was able to hear them, but not their location.If I can help beyond that, write back.hth

I loved Entombed! It was one of the first audio games I played. I didnt have any idea of the possibilities that were out there for blind gamers, til I heard a demo of Entombed. Im very much looking forward to Entombed 2.

Id be OK if it ends up being different from what I voted for, the winning RPG was my backup plan anyway. it would be cool though if this game took the pac-land route: turning from a maze type game to a side-scroler.
