I just found the combat a bit too irritating, like alter combat without the filters and when i asked I was basically told "use your mud client properly!" which doesn't really make for an accessible game if I need to script like hell to play. It did look interesting, especially the missions, crafting and random equipment, so I probably ought to give another try at some point, though i will also admit the writing in the game didn't exactly captivate me either.That being said, i wasn't exactly feeling super cheerful at the time, so it is entirely possible it was my perceptions which was off rather than the mud itself.

My oh my do I love this one. And it will be all the easier since we already have ghosts: Wizards turn into ghosts when they die until players manage to swing the cosmic balance to their side...Donate is an old inheritance from a time when Frandum had only 20 level quests and players were expected to dump a lot of things in between them to reach the next level and get their riddle. But one must not hold on to the past forever.I will keep you posted about this.

Dark, it seems attitudes towards whether Australian workers have a good work-life balance varies as I have just asked a couple of people and say that "Life's great".Jonixter, I would venture that Australians are more friendly and welcoming than people in the US, but I can't say for sure. See, I actually like Daring Comeback, although it's extremely situational. I'm just glad it doesn't get high priority.Martiagle has about the only really viable set-up-and-sweep strategy that works well. It's fast already, but it does get Quicken. It also gets Hone Blade. Use Quicken once or twice (usually once is more than enough). Heal. Use Hone Blade till you're in danger (or facing something that's going to whomp you). Then heal. Then sweep.Other manamon who can buff themselves don't really get speed advantages. Tenshaino isn't super-slow but he's not speedy, and he doesn't get Hone Blade till 68. Ninjarkin gets Hone Blade, but we've been through the many, many reasons why poor Ninjarkin is busted. Sacroloon gets Quicken, Roar and an ability called Panic which boosts (yup, drumroll please) PHYSICAL MOVES!, but you'd be better off using one or both screens and sticking to special attacks.The short ans
 wer is that if you know one or two setup moves will sweep an entire team, do it, assuming you've got the leeway. Great example of this is Mortrex with Dark Gift. Use it once or twice on Enchandithol - who can't really hurt you a lot - then OHKO it, OHKO Sacroloon, OHKO Dragomier (or 2HKO it, but you won't die short of a critical), OHKO Fiendour, probably OHKO Jimitron because it's frail, then either OHKO or 2HKO Mortrex. And Mortrex is fast, so it can get away with this.Do it if you've got the leeway. Mostly you won't, sometimes you will.

Just hope it's not Soli. :-DI have just finished the demo and I really admire the amount of work that must have been put into making this accessible, when accessibility obviously was not built right into the design process. It does actually work very well. And the story is so incredibly atmospheric, immersive, creepy. I mean it, I still have goosebumps even after a few minutes since I finished the game, and I can't remember if any game ever managed to do this to me before! I have played and seen several mainstream games before, not that I was ever sighted but I did have my brother and a friend who showed some games to me a few years ago, but I have no idea which game genre or particular titles inspired this but still, it's such an unique ex
 perience. And the story line is really engaging! I mean, actualy entering the commands on a computer within the game, then revealing you are in fact that very computer, then... Just [[wow]]! I'm typing this in a very hurried way, so excited, so it's probably one big mess, but I hope you can see what I mean anyway.The Sam actress is just absolutely amazing! There were times I really felt sorry for her. When trying to override the robot, I was actually panicking. I had the elevator door integrity at 25% and it still took me a while to get the job done even after that, so I probably managed to save her only in the last few seconds, as the Sapi voice the game chose for me is too slow and laggy. Still, I enjoyed the atmosphere immensely!I was so sorry for Alex at the end. I mean, the ending is so emotional! How did you manage to convey so much in such brief technical messages? When she read unknown identity, I was like what the hell? Then the message could not be 
 sent, and the final words: I am Alex. I am Soli. I am Alex. Just [[wow]], so creepy! Cybernetic schizophrenia? :-DWhat do the decisions for a given episode actually mean? I mean, it does read the percentages, which probably means how much a particular choice is going to shape the future storyline development, but it's not clear to me what I chose. Does it say "you chose this" before or after the decision choice?There definitely needs to be a way for the player himself to manually choose the Sapi voice they want to use, and it should recognize even 32-bit voices if any are installed. I know the possibilities of the Unity Sapi plugin are probably pretty limited, so I hope this is at all possible to program, because the only 64-bit voice which is available for me to configure in the Windows 10 text to speech control pannel is Microsoft Zira, which sounds pretty good but she is just so slow and unresponsive that it forces me to play at the pace of a snail, a
 nd even that is probably too fast. :-DI'm so sorry I won't probably manage to support your campaign until it ends! My apologies for not replying sooner!I'm glad you are enjoying StarLanes, and find it one of the most engaging games for the Echo. One of the points of writing it was to prove that the Echo could be a games platform. Unfortunately that hasn't been as enthusiastically welcomed by Amazon as I had hoped. But I'll stow my ranting and try to stay focused on your questions.Sounds like you are in Futatsu. (I am too.) We have a nearby pocket of space you can get to from East Grinstead at high tide. I am aware there is a gameplay problem where the space near the start is rather entrenched and the number of players isn't high enough so that one side can mount the flotilla necessary to change ownership. I have a ton of ships in Tidworth waiting to unleash fury on East Grinstead, but I can't port enough on one tank of gas. Solutions I'm looking at
  is having ship count degrade in systems that don't have regular faction visitors. Also, the first companion game will be StarSquad, where you can send in squads to "take out that field generator", and sabotage the specific builds on a system that make it hard to fight.Fuel does regenerate over time. It's about 12 hours to get a full tank. Note, though, that you only need fuel if you are carrying drones. If you are empty, you can always transition. The bonuses you earn can buy fuel. Just say "buy fuel" and it should guide you through it. The currency is not yet available for purchase for real money. That's a feature for 4.0 that is being worked on right now.StarTrade is one of the companion games in development. It adds trade gameplay to the universe. Turns out those worlds you see in StarLanes are just the main worlds of each star system. There are, often, other worlds in each system. The jump beacon is only on the main world, and si
 nce StarLanes gameplay is focused on strategic warfare, that's all that matters. In StarTrade you can move between the planets within a system, trading in the basic commodities: energy, minerals and biologicals. You can purchase transport between systems. StarScout will be another companion game with a focus on exploration. Turns out the only planets you see in StarTrade are those with colonies on them. There are other planets that you can scout out and survey. There are also other systems that your scout ship can get to without a jump beacon. You can explore those too and even work up to deploy a jump beacon there.The four games are really one game, with different types of gameplay. However, since the audio interface gets a bit cluttered if you add too many commands, they are being released as separate games. They all affect the same universe. If you take down a ion shield in StarSquad, that helps drones attacking that world in StarLanes. Moving resources around 
 in StarTrade also helps production of drones in StarLanes, and faction ownership in StarLanes gives better prices to faction aligned traders in StarTrade. Basically you can optimize for range, carrying capacity, or fuel capacity. When you buy an upgrade, your max range/carrying/fuel go up. Not dramatically. But even a little range boost can really change the landscape. "set configuration to corvette" is the normal ship. "runner" is the max range ship. "carrier" is the max capacity ship. I know you're slightly against the US, but I think Texas is a good choice for you. The blind community is the second biggest in the entire country, and even though Austin is very vert expensive, the toun that I live in, beaumont has a sucky oublic transpportation system, but nice peioke, good food, and a bitchy school district. I'm conflicted when it comes to either taking 2 or 3 rounds to kill something, or taking a couple rounds to buff yourself and then killing it in one hit. The first will use up your attack's usage points quickly, and the second just seems like six on one hand and half a dozen on the other. I just find that, in a lot of cases, the game doesn't really allow for a lot of setup beyond sending out the right manamon to start fights and making the appropriate choices as you progress through the opponents' teams. Also, daring comeback is really a bullshit move. Yet another example of how it's best to hit first, and kill fast, or end up stuck in a heal/revive loop.

The reason why so many games that seem mechanically suitable are a black hole for screenreaders is because the engines don't render our their interfaces in a way that any screenreader can understand.. they just output a big lump of openGL etc. It's not like engines don't already have a UI system and have labels attached to their UI elements... they do. And it's not like developers don't do the work either, it's not exactly rare to call your UI elements sensible names. But no matter what the develoepr does with those elements, there's no way of a screenreader seeing them.The benchmark is now native development works. Develop an iOS game using standard UIKit elements and it just works. That's how you get the mostly-accessible-but-not-quite-there games on iOS. Developers who have no idea that accessibility is even a thing, but the tools they're 
 using just happen to communicate things in the right way.So the remaining ask is just for the game developer to do a bit of optimisation which is a very different thing to a what a blind gamer asking them about accessibility usually equates to. Which is scrapping their engine use, losing their cross platform development, and starting again natively for each platform individually. Pretty understandable why that doesn't happen often.

I get that death must involve a penalty, but it might be more fun if the penalty made for some semi interesting gameplay along the way rather than running around donating everything that is not nailed down. I think the best death system I've ever seen was that in a game called materiamagica. When you died, you were transformed into a ghost (complete with chains tying you to the mortal world), and three vials of transportation.If you hung around for ten minutes, you'd be restored automatically, however during those ten minutes there was stuff to do. You could either walk around the world of the dead, which was a huge mazelike area full of other ghosts and spectral creatures. somewhere in the world of the dead was a copper door, which when entered lead to catacombs and another fairly random maze. In the maze somewhere however was the old man (death himself), who would automatically restore you to life on the basis your time had not yet come. So you could spen
 d your ten minutes wandering the mazes trying to get restored early, (quite a hard proposition since the locations of the old man and the door to his catacombs were randomized each time, and both the catacombs and the world of the dead was a huge set of rooms all looking the same with exits in all directions). Alternatively, if you didn't fancy trying to hunt down a restore you could drink the three vials of transportation and get dumped off somewhere in the game. You could not affect objects, hold anything, attack anything or speak to anyone or indeed do much at all. you could however wander around the world invisibly and explore, looking out for places to go in your mortal life. Plus, since you could be transported literally anywhere! often you'd see places that you wouldn't normally get to for a long time. The only miner issue with this is a few elemental creatures could catch and attack you as a ghost, and if they did your time as a spirit got extended for 
 five minutes. What was also interesting is that there was no way to get out of death. Even if you logged out for ten minutes, the ten minutes were counted as time actually playing as a ghost, so you'd have to spend it online as a wandering spirit.I'd actually suggest a system like this would work for frandum. You get turned into a ghost for ten minutes (a nice penalty since it's long enough to count but not so long as to be really annoying). While a ghost you can wander the world and look around at things, but can't interact with anything or anyone. Optionally you could also consider adding someone like the grim reaper whom is somewhere in the player's vicinity and will restore the player if the player finds them. You might even consider adding other ghosts or spectral objects to interact with and perhaps earn points for, or maybe a world of the dead to explore, but you see where I'm going with this, make death another part of the ga
 me and a way to explore different aspects of things.Oh btw, hopefully I'll get back on tomorrow, I've been a little busy over these past couple of days.

I have another suggestion: Some Missions could happen at day and some at night. In some areas, the night missions could have typical nightly background, like in gardens or woods owl sounds and such. Maybe that would add to the athmosphere of the game, too.

BrianP, I can't help you much, I'm afraid. There is at least one little gap on the third floor though. I've missed it a couple of times while exploring. Follow the walls. Seriously. I know you've heard that three dozen times now, but there is I think a part where you're going east, and when you hit a corner you can go north (which is probably the way you're going). Thing is, I think you can also go south, then hook around to the east or something. This might not be dead accurate, but as I said, I've been fooled.Garganchan does get Blind Rush, yes. It's gotten Blind Rush since forever.A couple more findings:Tenshaino isn't actually half bad. Takes forever to get Hone Blade, but it's not super-slow, and its attack is considerable. Its only real hang-up is that it relies on Power-up Punch and White Lance for damage. White Lance is brutal, but doesn't have a ton of use points. Power-up Punch has the issue of b
 eing a two or three-hit kill on most stuff, so you need either Battlecry or Hone Blade to make it work. Outside those two moves, it's either Piledriver (at least 3-hit kill on everything in the stadium) or Takedown (which gets you hurt, and doesn't get a same-type-attack bonus). Sacroloon is just an all-around better holy type, but Tenshaino is not bad at all if you play to its strengths. Nice HP too, actually.Apparently Grandlan Clay lowers both defenses by 15 points. This isn't advertised, but it's true. I feel as if equipment like this is sneaky, bordering on underhanded. I don't know why it bugs me, but it does. Either declare the stat penalties, or take them out entirely. In this case, I don't think 15 from each defense is a terrible penalty, not at higher levels, but I still think it needs saying.I can seriously sweep most of the Master four/Elite Stadium/whatever with Mortrex and Grandlan. It's not even funny. Mortrex basically
  polishes off three or four of Matthew's six, plus the entire team Odin has, and Grandlan with Laser Arm can basically take down the first two tamers on its own without help. The third tamer with all the water types is a little trickier, but even then, with either a speed or level advantage (my Grandlan is level 67 and has both now), it doesn't much matter. Tunnel for Turoison, Aura Master for Dramagon, Laser Arm for Arctana/Submenno, either Scourge Tail or Laser Arm for Squarpha. Game over.

There is also cyber assault, Website here basically post appocalypse combat with classes like predator, cyborg and terminator. I didn't find it my sort of thing, particularly since the combat is rather spammy and there are no filters since I belive most blind players do very heavy scripting in the game, but feel free to give it a try.

Hellmoo is a dirty mud with dirty community, from my personal expirience. And Epitaph...I absolutely recommend that mud, though my atemp to make soundpack for it is put to a hault because of port. I did ask the developper to open up new port but til now it's still nothing. Cyber Assault is good. It's a mixed and mashed post apocalyptic style, with anything from simple drone to cyber pikachu, or even cyber troll in the black market. I'm more than happy to give away my soundpack as well, if you don't mind the hard to set up process.

I'll also note that at least with rs games and i believe with Quntin C playroom as well you can setup an individual table for a game, so if you and your family wanted to play across the net, you could restrict the table to just you. I'll also note that while not a client, all the stand alone versions of games like monopoly, battleships, game of life, uno  and yahtzee produced both by Jim Kitchin and spoonbill games have the option for multiplayer at the same computer.The spoonbill site is here and Kitchinsinc is here Plus all have pages in the database too. hth.

And moves on? So it seems to, because it came and went so quick that I have no idea what this even is. Not even on the website. I'm confuzzled. Something about Reaper and Sonar and FL Studio with some Yamaha or Roland something or other with jaws and what? And why FL Studio 5? Isn't that, like, older than old? Aren't they at FL Studio 12 now?Ah. After reading again, I seem to have figured out that this makes Kontakt patch names accessible with JFW? I'm still confused.

@Orin: yes the key is required. Not too comfortable discussing this publicly but you probably missed one of the rooms it opened. Be thorough when you find this room with its content. All items and bodies are valid for donate, but the more they're worth, the quicker the penalty will be lifted, so an item lyling at the end of a quest (e.g. Barney's bar) will be worth more than the average leaf you gather in Midwood. Penalties are obnoxious but we still need a way to make death a little painful otherwise people will just take too many risks and where would be the fun? Yet, now that I see who killed you I've got to admit that the skeleton is a bit too strong and ferocious for when you find it. He will be lowered in a near future, but you don't have to go see him again to finish the quest, so avoid him for now. Cheers!

This isn't the first time the 'shadow window' feature has caused issues in Pyglet, it doesn't effect many systems but it can cause problems occasionally for some. I ran into it awhile ago when I moved up from pyglet 1.14, whenever transitioning between windowed and fullscreen it would crash the VPU on my ATI Radeon 9600 card. I'd rather it be disable by default but it happens so rarely they decided to leave it as is.

Does anybody know what items are good to donate? I died and now have to donate a bunch of items to start gaining experience again.I was exploring the area you unlock in the farmhouse and got killed by the Skeleton in the closet.I have 57 points remaining until I'm good again. THis death penalty really sucks.Edit: Okay so is this area required to get the spell? I've done the fox quest and did all that for the farmer and now have the Big Key. Is it a requirement to ultimately complete this riddle?

So, Kevil, first of all it's something I waited for. I always wanted to play something like Uplink etc and now my thoughts on the game:I love it so much, theme, music and how it's changing based on what is going on. Sound design is really fantastic and its the atmosphere. Fantastic voice acting!I'll back the project for SURE! and I'm spreading it as much as possible to fund this amazing project.As I completed the epizode 0 I can see you removed the mini games, is it true? if yes, it's so sad as I always wanted to enjoy these things so it will be great if you can find a way how to make these accessible for us. I'm a sound designer, voice actor and everyday I'm fighting for the game accessibility. I'm playing video games as much as possible and if there's something I can help with, just let me know and I'll be more than happy to do my best! For the visual-based mini games there's a lot of ways to make it playable for us ie. audio presentation where some audio files can play in the stereo panning field so instead of looking, you can hear something important what you need to move etc.I'm working with few developers on their games including Mike Z and his Skullgirls game, which is fully accessible for the blind now on steam.So, Code 7 is really a fantastic and amazing masterpiece!If you wish, at some point contact me, just reply or send me PM.Take care,L

OK, I'm back here because I thought I would share a very small detail in the Pokemon Red and Blue soundtrack that makes me think it was even more amazing than what I thought in the first place. It's about a very precise moment in the game.Let's say you get out of the St. Anne ship, then it lives and you are back in Vermillion city. What makes the thing beautiful is that the three themes you hear in a row (the St Anne's theme, the surfing theme and Vermillion City's theme) are all on the same key, A major. To me it's a good way to keep the immersion in that part of the game. Metaphorically speaking, it's like saying that if the waves of Kanto's sea produced a note, it would be A. There are three other themes in the game that are on the same key, so I don't know if it's a coincidence, but still it's very well done, and I can't think of another soundtrack that does it this way.

No they don't have visuals.I forgot about the Blind Adrenaline Card Room. It's a pay to play service that costs $5.00 a month.The card room has visuals, but the Playroom doesn't. I'm not sure if RSGames has visuals, but I doubt it.

Accessibility is a wide range. What kind of accessibility are we talking about? Visual, auditory impairment? Or physically impaired, like one-hand or one-button games?If it's just accessibility for us, non-sighted game devs, then making something accessible in this field should be relatively easy. Mainly making sure the IDE can be used with a screen reader.As far as making the games themselves accessible, they can add support for the Tolk library for example, to interface with screen readers. Really though, most of the work lies with the actual game developers making the games.I'm definitely not an expert, but I do make audio games and picked up a lot of things here and there. Really interested to see where this goes, and could throw in my 2 cents for what it's worth. I'm all for making audio game development easier and more universal.

Re: game engine developers looking to add accessability, requesting info

Accessibility is a wide range. What kind of accessibility are we talking about?If it's just accessibility for us, non-sighted game devs, then making something accessible in this field should be easy. Mainly making sure the IDE can be used with a screen reader.As far as making the games themselves accessible, they can add support for the Tolk library for example, to interface with screen readers. Really though, most of the work lies with the actual game developers making the games.I'm definitely not an expert, but I do make audio games and picked up a lot of things here and there. Really interested to see where this goes, and could throw in my 2 cents for what it's worth. I'm all for making audio game development easier and more universal.

Hello!For those, and I know there are a lot of people out there, who don't have the money nore the time to obtain Cakewalk Sonar, I use a much cheaper and lightweight solution that works as good if not better.You don't need 2 soundcards, just need 1 builtin computer soundcard and an external audio interface. Setup Reaper with ReaAccess, piping all Reaper sounds through the audio interface while having the wrest of your computer sounds going through your builtin computer soundcard.You can use control surfaces, vst controlers, midi controlers, etc with Reaper. I've been doing it for quite a while now, and am around to answer any questions people may have. Just PM me, I can't promiss that I'll reply right away though.Thanks!

I got to the part Where I have to have Sam reach my location.I was accessing the map, and I tried accessing the following locations.l002, r032, h029, and r030.I do not know what to do next.Whenever I try entering the ID that was 025, it says security level not high enough to reach.I accessed my database and entered the search ID that was 016.so now I gave up because I don't know how I'm going to be able to complete the game.

Boy am I really annoyed with Apple now.One of the changes I made to my cable modem / wireless router settings was to turn off proadcasting the network ID.In the past this little trick to better secure my wireless network has never caused a problem because every wireless device had the option to enter the network name if it didn't appear in the list of available networks, which mine wouldn't since that list is filled using broadcasted network IDs.But, Apple, in their infinite wisdom, decided that iOS devices will only be allowed to connect to networks that broadcast their network IDs, even if the device already knows the network name and pass phrase! If it can't find the network ID in a list of networks broadcasting their network ID, it won't even try to connect.I'd like to know who's brilliant idea that was, they deserve to be fired for such stupidity!

Does anybody know what items are good to donate? I died and now have to donate a bunch of items to start gaining experience again.I was exploring the area you unlock in the farmhouse and got killed by the Skeleton in the closet.I have 57 points remaining until I'm good again. THis death penalty really sucks.

so anyone knows, i did need to use this for my raspberry pi running Raspbian. other wise it bitched about not having a display connected. however i did have a tv connected. i was invoking the code from command line though. so that may have been an issue.hope this helps anyone.

Hi G-Rad.There are two clients for playing multiplayer games over the internet.the QuentinC Playroom has quite a few games, including 1000 miles, Uno, texas hold em Poker, Etc. There's a desktop client for windows, as well as a client you can run in your web browser.the RSGames client is the only compeditor to the playroom that I'm aware of. There are client versions for Windows, Mac OS and Linux. There's even an iOS app!
