I gave it a try many years ago, but found no reason to continue using it, because at this time, Jaws worked in more of my programs than Supernova.NVDA is an awesome screenreader for sure. I've used it every day in like 3 years. If NVDA does what you need, then skip Supernova. However, a lot of screenreaders have issues with Microsoft Edge, so don't blame Dolphin on that. Microsoft Edge simply sucks. Internet Explorer is still in Windows 10. It's just a matter of setting this as your default browser. I'll also add that 4dimensions has very hacknslash mechanics, with some fantasy, some wild west, and some scifi ideas, so you can have everything from six shooters to laser pistols, and similarly zones in the go from futuristic with spaceships to medieval and stone age. there is probably more out there too, though I suspect just as with the fantasy games, finding what is good is the key. Re: Your Experience with Sleeping Patterns my lady has actually been diagnosed with none 24, and takes a fairly extreme sleeping tablet because of it. This is okay when it works, but rather bad when it doesn't, and can have the consequence of making her fHairly dopy. Oddly enough, even though my light is okay and I can see sunlight etc my situation is rather Raygrote's. sometimes it's fine, especially when I'm doing weights and exercising, but often it isn't. One thing I have noticed, is that certain situations which are more tiring can set things out of whack. For example, if I'm at a crowded, unpleasant party, or the like, I tend to crash when I get back, even if in the middle of the day. Generally if I go to sleep, even for 15 minutes, that is pretty much that for at least the next six hours, sometimes as much as 18, though eventually I'll sleep again. Take last night, both Mrs. Dark and I crashed out at nine or so. Then however, I wake up at 20 past one, feeling fully rested. After finishing my steven king I decided it was best to say "just buger it" and get up, hence why I'm now awake at about twenty two, having already been mucking about online for a couple of hours. I will say, I tend to like working mornings, whether morning actually getting up at seven and starting work about eight thirty, as I used to at uni, or getting up at three and starting around four. I'll also say that mental state has a major affect on sleep, and there is a huge difference between a night up feeling dreadful, or indeed an evening up feeling dreadful after sleeping all day, and a night or evening awake doing something fun or just being awake because I'm deeply into what I'm doing and not wanting to stop . But you're right, Supernova, while very awesome in very many ways, is a highly traditionalist screen reader that only moves when it has to, despite its excellent technical foundations. One wonders what OS Dolphin employees themselves use. They do indeed have pretty wonderful people working for them (I know at least one of them, and went to work for them at one point which I thoroughly enjoyed) but I think the reality is that now they seem somewhat disillusioned.I wouldn't encourage you to spend your time fruitlessly, but maybe you should at least give the other known screen readers a try, NVDA of course but also (shudder) JAWS and, if you've got an Office license of any kind, Window-Eyes which is now free. Tactical battle looked great at the inception, indeed it was mentioned in this topic, it's one of these games I need to investigate more. As to monster Breeder, the game is now being updated with further development, and bug fixes, see This topic for details. I think you'd also enjoy Puppet Puppet nightmares that I mentioned earlier. You can find out more through this database page I'll have a think about other browser games. the issue generally is that while many involve pvp, not many are party based, or have actual interesting combat mechanics, most tend to have automatic combat which is a little irritating. I'll have a think about other things to suggest, though as I said in the other thread, also note you ca n search in the database by genre, you'll find a lot of browser rpgs under mmorpgs. You might also want to investigate more muds, since while Alteraeon is really great, it's certainly not all that is out there. Re: Supernova disappointments That is true Blindncool. Dolphin have always been good to deal with in the past, everything from customer support to taking suggestions. Indeed, both my brother and I got to be fairly well known at Dolphin. We had a good relationship with them, for example they pretty much said that everytime we needed a new license, even if outside the usual license count we just had to ask, they once, back in the days of xp and posted install disks courier delivered my brother a spare laptop to his university when his crashed just before an exam.To an extent I do wonder if part of this was the rather surly fellow I spoke to, however there is denying that his comments are born if you look between the lines at feature list for the latest supernova version, eg, I assumed that "Increased desktop support for Windows 10" also counted aps, setup etc, but it seems to just mean the desktop itself. That is why I will try to talk to them again, and make them aware of just what the situation is. Hopefully though now I've switched to Nvda, I won't have to run ssapi as often so won't run into the issue, indeed I'm using Sapi with Nvda right now, since I have a decent voice for it. First public beta released! so, my last post on this matter unless of corse I get some out of answer from Sam.It seems as if I have been banned.From what I've heard, I was banned for logging out once and logging back in.I however do not recall this happening however, whenever I do have to log out and someone is actively attacking me meaning I'm less than about 200 tiles away from said person, I try to jump or run away from that person or, I'll just let that person kill me because after all, it's just a kill.But, I guess that's not an option anymore.If you have to go offline for any reason or god forbid, your connection has been dropped then I suppose your going to get yourself banned.I've sent sevral messages in the last day or so to Sam on skype but he has not responded one way or another.I am even now trying to give him the benefit of the dout and am thinking it's a bug however, due to the lack of response, I'm starting to th ink that I have been banned.It's his game and it's his choice to do so if he wishes for any reason and it was great fun while it lasted and the new features were awesome and worth waiting for.However unless I get a response saying that I was not bad and that it was a bug I have no choice but to accept that fact for now.It's one thing to ban someone for logging in and out multiple times to avoid getting killed.However, it's completely different if you just get banned just because you logged out or your connection dropps and then not even get a reason as to why or why not to argue your case.Anyways, for those that didn't know who I was on the game, I was UncleFucker.It was fun playing with you all and I'm hoping that his is a big misunderstanding and I'll be able to log on once again and deal out death an distruction.Sam, or anyone for that matter would like to talk about this and get it fixed, my twitter is: @krishnajariwala. Although I've never used Supernova, I think it's stupid that they're now having the attitude that IBM had regarding the IBM PC and printer compatibility ("If you don't use an IBM printer, it won't work.") ...Or maybe that was apple, I can't remember at the moment.

One thing I noticed a lot when I was in the states, is everything was extreme! was seen as a battle. You were either republican or democrat, and the two hated each other. You were either ultra christian and believed in the truth, or you were ultra science and supported abortion and hated religion. So much was polarized it often felt to me, who has tried the approach of evaluating different perspectives and trying to be reasonable, quite uncomfortable. As we've often said on the forum, remember to discuss the issues reasonably, not simply getting into a hate over a specific group. This is something that differs a lot in the Uk. When did one production, one of the boys was definitely bent on being a virgin until marriage, others knew this and it was just taken in stride. There was no pressure or nastiness, occasionally good natured ribbing, such as the occasion when after the show everyone hugged each other and one of the girls remarked "just a hug, you'll be alright", to which said boy responded "nope, god likes hugs!" .As regards the question of gay people howeer, I have a story to share with permission. Re: Trying Nvda @Family marrio, I did see that addon when I was having a look through the addons on the list, however I wasn't sure if it just got rid of the beeps option from mode switching with nvda s, or whether it actually got rid of all beeps, since some of the beeps I actually rather like. I believe I missunderstood what nvda s wwas for. I thought it was something to do with actual switching of config, but it seems effectively almost like the "voice off" command in supernova, or at least I used it that way when I was listening to stuff in vlc and didn't want track names announced. @Rolvdwol, that seems a slightly long way around at the moment,and I'd rather not mess too much with profiles etc until I'm doubly sure of what commands I'm using when. Besides the punctuation in NVda seems a strange, since if I have smbols set to most or all contractions like I'm or isn't are pronounced i point m or isn point t which is rather odd. It's just something that is going to take fiddling I think. With regards to Firefox, I might try at some point, though for the moment I'll stick with ie while I'm getting used to the thing. One thing I don't like is the constant mentioning when I'm looking at web pages, that's a miner pest, particularly in games like Monster breeder that have space on the page.@Zersiax, As I said with the mode switch thing, I wasn't exactly clear what it is for, but it does seem to work like the voice off command. With respect to mouse movement, gathered the bit about the different object review modes, however I was wondering about doing things like streight clicks on hotspots and the like, which is occasionally necessary with none standard controls, again this is something I'm probably going to have to research. I did download the obj pad addon which gives slightly less keyb oard shortcut heavy wways of navigating object lists etc, which should help things.@Hammer, yep, found the capitals option I rather like the beeps for capitals thing (hence why I don't want to turn the beeps mode off), however at the moment I'm only capitals when I review by character. Since I do have a habbit of forgetting them, it is helpful to have them spoken when reading lines etc. Again, these are all pretty much teething troubles with configuration issues I think. I will say thanks to everyone for the tips and people's patience with my noob questions. In general I am however quite impressed with Nvda thus far. I've always been meaning to try the thing, since I've very much approved of the project right from it's conception, but it's not really been a priority so long as what I was doing with Supernova was okay.I'll talk about what has happened with Supernova in another topic. Supernova disappointments e So, as people might gather, I'm seriously trying out Nvda, possibly with an idea of switching perminantly. The reasons for this are entirely due to firstly, inequities I noticed with Supernova, and secondly the attitude of Dolphin, (or at least that particularly surley dolphin emplloyee), when i confronted them with the problems. I've used supernova for close to 20 years, know it inside out, have tried beta versions and run everything under the sun with it. What I've always admired in Supernova above all, was the way that it would pretty much work with anything I threw at it so long as there was readable text from random little chat programs, config options for graphical games, to performance on nearly any sort of websites or sets of controls, including complex things like flash interfaces, (people will remember my smugglers reviews). When I decided to get a windows 10 machine, I phoned dolphin and was assured that yes, S upernova supported windows 10, indeed I bought the machine through dolphin themselves. However, I get the machine, and while basic management and even the start menu are fine, not to mention very decent performance with everything you'd expect online, from Amazon to youtube, intigration wiht some of the more diverse parts of windows were getting clunky. These settings included search functions not working correctly, long names getting chopped off, and problems with login screens for things like twitter, facebook, weather etc, even when the aps themselves would work once configured.the last straw of this was the default windows mail ap, where only the basic header controls were read, and actual email messages were not. This is not the sort of behaviour I've come to expect from supernova, the screen reader which, as I said, used to read anything with readable text. So, I phone dolphin and ask and what am I told? "Well it's microsoft edge, we can't support everything, we're a small company" Even when I pointed out that narrator, yes, narrator! of all things was doing things supernova couldn't, eg, reading login, screens I was just told "Well you need to look at the list of supported programs on our website" When I stated "What about Nvda and their support of windows 10", he simply said "well you know more about that than me", and effectively refused to listen.In fairness I suspect I got a particularly surley tech support guy, and someone more reasonable might have been a little more reasonable too, however it is Dolphinn's design decisions here which worries me. where in the past their thinking was to create a screen reader that would work flawlessly with all aspects of windows and would work with as much as humanly possible, their thinking now has scaled back to "Well we only need to s upport a few programs", usually the popular things like office, skype etc, and everything else is the fault of the user for not looking at what we support. The man did say support for firefox was planned, however again, I don't like the thinking here, supernova is in such a state where it will literally only work with stuff that Dolphin themselves support. Even in the past, Supernova would work with firefox, just not half as easily as with internet explorer.It's ironic, because dolphin now seems to have adopted exactly the same thinking that they used to cryticise other screen reader companies for, namely, marketing only to a specific set of programs and specific set of users, rather than trying to create something as flexable as possible. Indeed even before I tried Nvda, I was rather perplexed by several extra functions built into supernova, such as a podcatcher and media playback, as if Dolphin expect people to rely on Supernova only for everything, rather than have a screen reader which is flexible enough to give a choice.Of course, trends can change, I do intend to phone Dolphin, see if I can get to speak to someone more reasonable and explain the situation. It might be they get their act together in terms of widening their field of focus, I do recall back with version 5 they were slower at full scale internet support than some other companies. I'll also keep version 16 of supernova around and see what comes in terms of support, though for the time being I'm quite liking Nvda. Btw, interestingly enough, I've heard similar things about Window Eyes from my lady, though what state it is in I'm not sure not being familiar with it myself.While I will appreciate people's thoughts on this subject, I will ask people to please keep the acrimony to a minimum. So I would be extremely wary even reinstalling it. It wouldn't hurt to try using the Sappi repair tools that used to be available on Jim Kitchen's website, if you haven't tried that already. I don't have a link to them at the moment, but if you need them, I can try to see if I have them stored on one of my external hard drives. I'm honestly not sure if I grabbed them or not. That, to me, sounds like a much safer course of action, rather than possibly putting yourself at risk by reinstalling the add-on. Rias originally just wanted to use Clok as his "practice" of python, and it grew up to be a really awesome project as it is. Right now there's a lot of issue with the dump data every time something is executed. Jirato himself doesn't have time to code it (he said it would take roughly a year), but he handed the engine to his partner to rewrite it. His partner is a full time programmer, and might not be able to finish very soon. What Jirato is trying to do right now is fixing the characters/items dump files so it'll have less data to dump each execution, and thus reduce the lag in the process. Wooya! There's something to be done afterall, right? Not gonna be soon but still.And now we know Clok is written in python. The code itself has lag issue since ages ago. The engine came from Rias. Look up the Teen Screen program, for instance, and don't even get me started on what I think of proponents of ECT, or electroconvulsive therapy. This one is responsible for healing and regenerating. Once that's done, destroy the red crystal.The lich isn't too difficult if you follow a plan. If you have silence scrolls, use them when she transforms. Her spells are lethal, but if she can't cast, she is absolutely harmless. If that isn't possible, do your best to take her out when she's in her initial form. While she can attack with her fists, she doesn't do that much damage. Beware her charm spells. She can only cast four, but they can cause havoc on your group.Finally, focus on her head. If you hit it with enough damage, she will go down. Try to do this when she hasn't transformed. This will depend on the strength of your characters. If she does manage to transform, do your best to always target the head. You want her dead a s soon as possible or your people will be in a world of hurt. WITH WHITE CHOCOLATE WHIPPED CREAM.The ultimate date night or Valentine's Dessert, Wouldn't you agree? now, Let's get started!15 minPrep Time 25 minCook Time 40 minTotal Time IngredientsPavlova:• 50 ml / 1/4 cup / 4 large egg whites• 1/4 cup fine (berry) white sugar• 1/2 tsp vinegar• 1 1/2 tsp cornstarch (cornflour)• zest from a blood orange (or whichever citrus you're using for curd)Blood Orange Curd:• 1 cup Blood Orange Curd or other citrus curd*White Chocolate Whipped Cream:• 1/4 cup whipping cream• 1 tbsp sugar• 2 tbsp white chocolate chipsInstructionsPavlova:1. Preheat oven to 250° F and line a baking sheet with non-stick paper.2. Using an electric whisk, mix egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually add 1 tbsp of fine sugar at a time, beating in each batch of sugar thoroughly until eggs become glossy and stiff peaks form.3. Finally got avast to stop blocking it today. lol Anyways my question is, is their any way to turn off the background music? I find it realy distracting. Other than that I like the game a lot. Oh a tip for those of you who might have trouble getting it to run under avast, Try reinstalling avast, and set everything in the check boxes to low security. It sounds like you want NVDA not to speak, but nvda+s, which turns speech off, is not what you want. What is the problem with that approach exactly? Nvda+s is similar to ctrl+0 in Supernova.As for mouse clicks ...that has to do with the modes you still want to figure out but the gist of it is that you use objectNav or screenReview to go to the place on screen you want to click, use a command to bring the mouse to that location and than one to either left or right click. Ok, so this is what i'm doing at the moment.I have set up speech recognition with UK and done 3 voice training setions.I start it's your plane, nothing happens. I start the sim itself and go to free flight. I select aircraft and weather and time of day. I go to flight planner and select start and end destinations. Then I click fly now. Everything loads, sometimes I here engines sometimes I don't. It is at this point when I go back into it's your plane Mike starts talking, saying this is an unregistered version that needs to be run in online mode and I need to make the database... etc. I wait for him to say it's your plane and when he does I try several things. I have tried open options panel, I just get the beep to say speech recognition and Mike didn't understand. I go back to the sim and try do all checklists. Still nothing happens. It is at this point I get stuck. They should remove that setting and have the hot key toggle speech on or off.As for IE, pressing alt n will cause NVDA to set focus to the alert and read it. You can tab through the controls and press enter.I'm not sure about performing mouse clicks. I would suggest that you read the manual thoroughly to get a basic idea of all the concepts. If you just want commands, look at the commands quick reference document in the NVDA help menu. Everything is neatly organized into headings. You can also use the input gestures dialogue under the preferences submenu to assign custom keyboard commands to diferent functions. One of the things you get is pressure to some degree or another to think or do in A way that your peers do. You also get some of this pressure from professors. Maybe it is in a way they require you to do your research and or write up your papers. I know that there was sources I could not use. Most if not all of these unused sources made sense. My tactic was to do my best to choose topics to write about that I could agree with or come up with points that I was ok with that the professors would be ok with. This was assuming that I was having to write a paper. Topics I would not write about, if I could get away with it, includes politics, religion, and what people do in their own bedroom, and here I am trying not to use some words in this topic. Some people just give in. Others hide who they really are deep down. Of course people also change. This does not mean that you and I have to like it . We may hate some things that people do. To me, some of this comes down to the question of what would you do when you see and hear people doing things odd and strange day in and day out for about four years or so? I am betting that you might pick up on some of their habits. The more I think about it, people are complicated beings. Just think of the thousands of not millions of interactions that we all have over our lives. I am betting that some if not a lot of that makes us each who we are. That does not mean that I have to like you, but just think about what all goes into making us who we are. With the jeans we get from our parents plus who we are around day in and day out plus what you see on the computer, TV, hear on the radio, and ETC all plays a part. I, myself, do mostly choose not to be around the LGBT community, but I do wonder how much of that is based off of who these people are around. If someone says they was borne with it, what causes that difference? Just wondering, a nd know I do not go around asking if so and so is a part of that community. Re: Your Experience with Sleeping Patterns Hi.Join the club is all I can say.In the summer especially when hot I can find it hard to sleep at night, but it can also happen in the winter.I can be on a role, get up between 5 and or 7, and that in itself is fine.Sometimes its at 3 or 4 and sometimes I can't sleep till 1.Being that I do morning gym sessions its not a big issue.The issue is when I can't get up at all.I have been known to sleep all day at times if I don't watch it.Sometimes I give myself a day usually a sunday or friday where I sleep till 9 or 10 am and thats usually enough for a while.As long as I am in bed by 9 or 10.30 something round that I am fine.If I go to some sort of party, especially at night I can be quiet and tired.Light for me plays a major part.My eyes are super sensitive, alergies and the like.Light can simple have them close and not be able to open.If its to noisy I sleep.I can sleep at the dr op of a hat during the day but never at night.My brother has the same issues as I do not being able to get to sleep and sleeping in to much, he is sighted so who knows.I have heard for us blind types its to do with light, stimulation and the like.The fact we depend on it, for those with light perception its not to bad but light does stimulate your bodyclock and without it you never change or something I don't understand it fully.If I am slightly out of joint, I can't just go back in, ie if I travel long distance, I havn't really done this but if I do on the occation I may be out of time for a couple days, thats normal enough.However if I stay somewhere for a couple weeks or even a month, I am right out of sequence.I sleep all day and stay up much of the night.I simply don't get tired for ages and ages and ages.I will eventually get back into a rythm but it means I have to stay up for 3 or 4 days tired sleeping little at nights.I have thougyht about trying tablets or something but all that will probably do is get me use to tablets and may not actually fix things.When I am on holliday I tend if I am able not to take my laptop with me.The laptop has a dead battery in it anyway, its at least 5 or so years old now, but its fine.I always find though if I have a computer I spend most of my time on it rather then smelling the roses.The only things I ever take on holliday are a phone, my recorder for obvious reasons and a flash drive with nvda and other things on it if I need to access someone's system while away.I have started doing this thing as of 4 years back when I said no to some things I did.In my first big holliday I took my computer to the place.We stayed in one location for a month.And while I went out a lot I spent about 90% of the time on the computer.I even stayed up all night in order to play on the computer.I ha ve since just not done this.Sure I get bored, but I listen more, record things a bit more, relax and actually enjoy things.Sadly this never happens at home.In the winter my patterns can vary a lot more than summer.If I tend to be awake at nights its not to bad in summer months especially when it gets rather hot.In winter though if I have issues they are more pronounced.I will also get quite depressed when it gets dark or rains for periods.Lately though any light can make me have a headake even if I use glasses and I really don't care for that as such.So yeah everyone has issues sleeping. Non 24, which is that thing you see in commercials, at least in the US anyway, and Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder, where you get restful, high quality sleep, but the only issue is when it happens. From what I've heard, the cause of Non 24 and disorders like it among blind people is that for normal people, light tells their brain to reset their circadian rhythms (body clocks) so that they are in alignment with the normal 24 hour day. However, because blind people lack this stimulation, their sleep cycle has an extra hour added on to it, and it drifts instead of resetting as it should. I've found the nvda +p command, but it seems to control symbols irrespective of what is actually going on. eg, whether I am reading an entire document or whether I'm tabbing through links etc. In Supernova it was always possible to vary the level of punctuation when doing different reading tasks, since while you might want things like comma and capitals while writing, you probably wouldn't want them read too much. Ditto with numbers are spoken. While Nvda does seem to have ways to change levels of spoken punctuation they seem pretty general not specific to situations, unless I've got this wrong. Also, from the user guide and from experimenting, nvda +s doesn't seem to do much really, it either turns speech off or just causes speech as beeps, which is probably okay if your using a braille display but not likely for just writing normally, unless I've misunderstood this function.I'll try the layout thi ng and see how it works. I've looked through the users guide and also at the addons, there are some interesting ones I think, indeed I've already got the one for vlc. Re: Your Experience with Sleeping Patterns From what I've heard, this happens because blind people can't see sunlight so something isn't stimulated properly. But I don't really believe this theory. I can still see light and sunlight but that doesn't help. Also some sighted people have bad sleeping patterns too, it's actually a sleep disorder called non 24 and is precisely what we are talking about. I don't think they really know what's truly behind it or what causes it, and unfortunately, only some drugs have seemed to have moderate success (according to Wikipedia anyway). It's not something you can tame with careful personal management.I pretty much can identify with everything said here. I joke I've woken up or gone to bed at any conceivable time of day at least once or twice in my life. It gets bad. Try going to bed at 10 AM and waking up at 6 PM. That's the worst. You're totally off track. For me, I have intermittent cycles where I'll be in alignme nt, sometimes for months, but will either gradually drift out, or suddenly one night will stay up an extra 6 hours because I'm excited about something, and next thing you know I'm knocked out of alignment for months. Sometimes my body gets stuck on a certain 24-hour pattern for weeks. This is awesome if it gets stuck at reasonable times, but often it gets stuck at the stupid times like 10 AM and 6 PM I mentioned above. I get cranky when I don't get sleep when I want it, and get equally cranky when trying to fix it because the only thing that works is a combination of forcing and... having faith that it will sort. It does eventually.My favorite sleep schedule is something nice and early like going to bed at 8 PM and geting up at 4. Then I have a bit of a buffer to drift forward, because that's what I normally do. About a month ago my sleep schedule was precisely that, after a long shift of being nocturnal. Now it's drifting, it has been for the p ast two weeks, and now I'm going to bed at 2 AM and waking up at 10. If I get too excited about something one night, I might well ruin all sense of normality and give it the gentle nudge it needs for me to be pulling all nighters again.When I was little, my parents, as most will, insisted I have a tight bedtime regime. It didn't work that well. I often wasn't tired at bedtime and couldn't sleep for hours. I would fall asleep in school. People tell me dozing in class is such a bad thing and how they've come close to nodding off but never have because it's so bad. I've outright dozed, and even accidentally started snoring a few times. I know I'm not the only one but it embarrasses me. I've slept in class so many times I can't even pretend to estimate how many. It's well into the thousands. In high school I would suffer academically because of it. In college, when my sleeping patterns started becoming a real problem and were becoming less predictable, I wised up and recorded virtually all my lectures because I never knew when I'd be too tired to concentrate, or just in case I wanted to remember them. I became so reliant on recordings that I stopped taking notes because it gave me an excuse to see if I needed sleep or just to mentally zone out to deal with something else that was on my mind, plus not taking notes meant I wouldn't be multitasking. And it also gave me an excuse just to be lazy in class too... which I was probably better at than most of my classmates. Studying for an exam for me literally consisted of sitting down, 24 hours before the test, listening to the 8 to 10 lectures that took place between the last exam and this one, and writing notes in Notepad for cramming. All the while, I would obviously be freaking myself out, studying the notes like mad, figuring out what they might and might not ask on the test, etc. It was rough.I've come to accept my stupid sleep habb its as part of me, but I'd still like to find an effective way to fix them more or less permanently so they're more like those of most of the people I know. For a while I wasn't prepared to deal with them. I'm still not, but part of preparation is knowing it exists, which I do now. And so I guess it's here to stay. But nevertheless I'll try to share mine.I've chosen not to accept a religion as a major factor in my life, because I've always been a very logical thinker and a skeptic. I know that even deeply religious people can be logical thinkers and skeptics, but I found that trying to accept a religion couldn't explain things in a way that made a lot of sense to me. A religion brings more questions than answers in my mind.As a small child, when my grandfather would tell me about God, I found what he was saying difficult to believe. Even the simple things such as God is watching you and knows if you're sinning or doing good things." Or, "All creatures are God's creatures. My first question is, "How does God watch billions of people?" "How did he make all those creatures?" My grandpa would gently try to preach to me, and as I saw it, he would beat around my questions."You're making this up aren't you?" I would ask."No no!" he insists, "This is all true.. "You should read the Bible," he continues in a friendly but serious tone. "I'm sure they make Braille bibles, just read a little every day and you will know a lot about God." He would recite random passages, no more than maybe a few lines, but it all sounded otherworldly to me."Who wrote this Bible?" I would ask. "And Pap, I don't want to say you're making this up but... how do you know these things are true? Because we do make-believe things all the time..."That about did it."The Bible is the truth," he would say, with a hint of bewilderment in his voice. "But I can see you don't believe it so we won't talk about it."My grandpa and I are very, very close. But that subject was one we never did see eye-to-eye on. He took my questions as resistance. He was afraid I'd go to school and start talking about how my grandpa tells these crazy God stories, or that I'd tell my parents and they'd get mad at him because they are not nearly so religious as he is. So he promptly stopped talking about it with me. To be honest that was probably a good idea, since I didn't always know what was and wasn't appropriate to discuss with different people. As I got older, I gradually came to believe and accept that there may or may not be a God. If there is, he/it (I prefer to personify him) will one day show me there is one, and will understand why I've not been certain of him before. But how he will do that, I don't even think about. I'll give him the chance to do the things I do not understand, but I simply cannot accept him a s definitive. I believe that all you have to do to get God's attention is to accept that he may exist. Someone once told me, "God is whatever you want it to be," and this is something I strongly identify with.On the converse if there isn't a God at all, the world evolved simply through evolution, if there was nobody watching over us, etc. I'd honestly not be surprised. Like I say, this is more or less how I believed things were until I was told otherwise. I suppose actually reading a Bible and doing research would help me to understand a lot of the things I seem to be completely ignorant of here, but I actually like being ignorant of it in the most respectful way possible. If God is all-knowing, all-being, then as human beings who are not all-knowing and all-being, how can we try to speak for him. I believe we can't.I don't pray or consciously ask for God's help for most of the reasons above. When I was little I thought prayer wa s a waste of time. You're just talking to the air. God isn't going to listen to our humble requests for his help, he'd rather you just have faith in him. For all I know, he might be like, "You again? Just go away. You're irritating me and you ask too much." Now I understand more or less why people do it, but I am not very sociable anyway, and talking to an empty room, or trying to talk about this with another person who likely won't be able to give my points a fair evaluation... they give me too much anxiety and discomfort, so I don't do it. Some people have told me that I will feel better about prayer if I remember God is listening to me and not judging. But then again, I can't be sure he exists. I can't bring myself to assume he is listening. To conclude this part of my rant, if I ever do find out one day if God is or is not real, I hope to accept it and not be disappointed. I'm somewhat prepared for either. And if I can, I wi ll let you guys know what I find out. But that's only part of what I came to this topic to say. Even though I wasn't religious, I still thought, for a long while, that being gay was wrong. Being trans was wrong. Being poly was wrong. Being bi was wrong... you get it. But, when going to college I actually met people who were all of those things.

Or maybe, as others have said, she secretly felt this way for a long time, and her defensiveness and rage was just her way of denying to herself that she wasn't exactly aligning with the Christian ideals she didn't believe in. I have kind of managed to set up and save a flightplan, but when I click fly now it's your plane says 'we're ready to go' and all that but then nothing else. It just doesn't respond to what i'm saying. Also, it says I need to create a local database of airports and I can find the options on the iyp control panel. However when I go into iyp I just get debug and exit the program buttons. If someone could help me that would be great.thanks. If you close your mind to this immediately and just say no you're wrong, what is that saying, you were only her friend because she believed the same as you do. College, uni, whatever you want to call it is an eye opening experience. People can get swept in many different directions. It's your job as a friend to talk to her about it, and see that she's happy, not what your religion tells you in a book or books whose interpretation man has tried to skew ever since its creation. I do not believe in god, gods, or entities that reign supreme above us. I believe that you have to find your own way, try to answer these moral quandaries yourself. Don't close your mind to the possibility because someone interpreted words in a book that was written long before your great great great many times great grandparents were even thought of. Man, if we still lived by the bible, we'd be a very different society, we'd still be allowed slaves, at least for 7 years, then I guess you gotta let 'em go and get new slaves.If you've place your faith in god, then answer this question. Would a being that has whole dominion over this entire earth, the moons and stars of our solar system, and beyond, perhaps even to the extent of the universe really care if you opened up to trans / gay / bisexual talks. I very much doubt it. If you believe in Jesus, that he died on the cross for our sins, then can you not live right and open to this a little, for if it is a sin, you will be forgiven if you ask. And finally, if this is a quandary for you that you cannot solve on your own, pray about it.I hope this was at least somewhat helpful, at least since I don't share your point of view about it, I feel organized religion breeds extremism, always have. Trying Nvda Well, I've decided that it was probably time to give NVda a go. It's something I've been thinking of trying for a long while, and as I've got a new windows 10 machine, this seemed like a good idea. So, a couple of questions. I've read the userguide, and checked other information, and it seems to be working fairly (at least when I stopped giving me chapter and verse about every single control in every single webpage). I'm not sure about when to use some of the different mode related commands, eg, browse mode, system carrot etc, but I'm sure I'll pick those up at some point. However, a couple of other things I am interested to know. first, is there a way to control punctuation is spoken and when? after all, I tend to want and capitals while I'm typing, but not when I'm say reading a long document. I find the amount of time I'm hearing "blank line" even when reading a web page a bit crazy.In the same way, is there way to simply shut Nvda's voice off? for example if I were listening to several files in Vlcmedia player and didn't want them all constantly announced each time I switched to a new track.then, I wonder about getting different areas of web pages. For example, when I hit download in ie 11, I'm told an alert pops up, but not what it is for exactly. Similarly, I am finding that sometimes I end up tabbing myself out of the main text on the page and into the various control bars and such, which is a bit wierd.Lastly, I wonder about emulating mouse clicks, eg, right and left context menus. I've done it so far with using spacebar and the applications key, but there are times when I want something a bit more direct.Obviously I've just started and haven't tried anything major as yet in terms of other programs, I'm messing about on the forum and with a couple games etc, but I'm liking what I see thus far. whether I'll be switching to NVda as a primary screen reader I'm not sure yet, we'll see what works well with what. Long lectures, long books, new and odd stuff which sometimes needed a large amount of time, like seven or eight hours until I had all the necessary theories on my brain. That was in the beginning when, as I said, graduated from high school and entered university which, in its early days, was a meer nightmare that has changed me in many ways, including my sleep patern. I now sleep like at 2:00 AM in the night and walk at 7:00 AM in the morning. I attend university from 8: 00 until we are finished. Hopefully, sometimes we do not have many classes and it ends up very well like it ended today with three classes. But, you know, you have to compensate the sleep and the rest you couldn't complete last night. And I do, cause if I don't, I won't be able to do anything else besides fighting with the sleep which is followed by a harsh fatigue which occupys every cell of my body. So, I ha ve to do nothing else, but sleep (in the afternoon).These are the problems I face right now with sleep paterns which I find to be very problematic at the moment.
