Odd blind jedi, I have updated Nvda several times and never lost an adding as yet.As regards voices, I actually did pay for the vocaliser Addon for Nvda, since while I could use Orphius alan from my supernova setup on my desktop, I wasn't going to install supernova on my laptop just to use Supernova. Then again I personally have never liked Eloquence anyway, mostly because it's English accent sounds pretty terrible. As for the dark team name, well there would need to be rather more of us for a legion or an army, right now we're more like  clique of darkness, or maybe the club of darkness, - no wait that sounds like a D weapon .

I was joking when I said it'll be out near Christmas, turns out I was ritish. looking forward to it. is there any way we can have a cycle of potential radar sounds, or a way to substitute them in or out? That's a hell of a lot of possibilities. It is a literal and logical impossibility for the human mind to ever generate that many possibilities and to go through them one by one, and while it might be possible for a computer to generate that, it is still literally and logically impossible for the human mind to evaluate all of them. Some more possible evaluative possibilities are a 1/2/3x1/2/3x1/2/3 map, but that's way too restrictive and very much impractical. A 30x30x30 map alone has 27000 possibilities, then on to the far more practical 100x100x100 with 100; 500x500x500 with 12500, and 1000x1000x1000 with 10, all the way up to the very massive, impossible-to-fully-design 1x1x1 with 1000. We both could go on and on about the impracticality and impossibility of generating various amounts of possibilities, but the lesson that is learned is that the larger the map is in any directional coordinate, whether it be x, y, or z, the more possibilities you create, and the more compulsive giving hints, tips and tricks becomes.

Hi to all!I resently found this mud. It is dead, but it is looking funny so far.It is pure PVP. You have to build up your base with a lot of funny stuff like garages where you can build mechs or other vehicles. Or you can build Airfields to build aircraft. I will not be connecting to any server that either you or Ivin control. Both of you are people who I personally would never trust to have my IP adress and things. If ivin can really hack passwords and crap, or if you can, or both, That's one more reason to stay away from this game.  This is one that i'll never be playing unless I know the person who is running the server. And given that Ivin removed custom servers I don't think that's going to happen.

To be honest, due to my failed attempts at getting sighted friends into audiogames, I was a little unsure about how this was going to work out on places like steam. But now i think i know what you plan to do. Correct me if i'm wrong, but it sounds like on the 29th your releasing it to us as an audiogame, then once the full graffic version is released, you will release it on steam, playstation store, or places like that as an rpg? And not really advertise the accessibility features? By that time blind people will have already played it, so we'd be able to go on public forums and rdddit posts and talk about the game with sighted gamers? People are starting to rely more and more heavily on artificial intelligence systems like dictation to do everything for them -- something I'd consider a bad, bad practice, although I do do it myself to set alarms on my phone and things -- but I at least learn those extra shortcuts and methods in case AI systems somehow go offline. Most people forget that those systems use the internet to function; without them, they won't even work properly, if at all. Sirie, for instance, uses the internet to communicate with apples' remote voice input systems to process your requests. Google voice uses google TTS, or something like it, to process your requests, and Amazon Echo uses Amazon Lex to receive input, process voice commands, etc. And I don't have to go into the security implications; companies who say that anything you say using a product like Sirie or Google Voice is 100 percent secure and can't be accessed by anyone is only lying to themselves. The only way to know that anything you do is absolutely and totally secure is for you to host all those services yourself. But not very many people are that technical, so they'll rely on other organizations to do the dirty work for them. When it comes down to it, it's all blind faith in the organization your working with, nothing else. And for all of you who are reading this in Central time (UTC -0600), it is approaching Midnight, so happy Veterans Day!

Another thing I wanted to note. I'm not sure it's a bug or not, but, sometimes when you walk or do something, your character's audio including foot steps, and what eve you may be doing at the time such as jumping, or punching or kicking, moves off in the direction your were walking in, so, if you were walking left, after a bit of things sounds normal as in the player sounds being in the center of the stereo field, it starts moving to the left, and the same for walking right. Again, I'm not sure it's a bug, or the design of the game.

The other thing is that he expects us to figure out where all the maps are, just by exploring. There are no hints, other than the store hint and there are no in-game maps. Imagine a map that has 2,000 tiles on the x axis and 2,000 on the y axis. If you square 2,000, you get 4,000,000 permutations. That's walking 2,000 coordinates on the y axis each time you move one coordinate on the x axis and that's just the beginning, never mind all the z axis coordinates. It's a total joke.

What I find ironic is the fact that most of those who do complain about the game still play the game anyway. It's kinda funny that you bitch about a game but keep playing it. You must like the game more than you say if you still play it despite all the complaining you do. If you really want to show your dislike for the game, don't play it. That will tell the admins then that there's something seriously wrong, and it'll get Sam's attention... hopefully at least, when his admins start telling him that they're the only ones on. Maybe not. Just a thought.

Good question Trajectory - yes, all the accessibility features will be able to be turned on/off. I can't help with most of your questions, but in theory, yes, Rumola should work with Chrome. I think you should be able to apply the bookmarklet the same way you would in Firefox. I haven't tried this, since I paid for Captcha Be Gone, which actually was a stupid choice on my part, but that's another story. To get to the Chrome store, go to chrome.google.com/webstore. Then you can search the same way you would if you were going to addons.mozilla.org.

Like I said, I am not trying to be disrespectful or harsh, and I mean no offense.  But come on.  As I said, these considerations should just be common sense.  If I know that I put a link to a game in my post, and then I stop hosting it, but I don't update my post to reflect that, doesn't it occur to me that people who see the thread down the road and want to try it will click the dead link?  If it doesn't, it should.  And it's not that difficult to edit a post.  If I change where I am hosting a game, or if I upload it to another hosting location, then it is quite easy to go to my thread, click edit on the original post, find the form field, and enter that information; it would take 5 minutes or less.  Now, let's say that someone manages to find the game by some other means, in spite of the fact that my link is dead.  And let's say I made an instructional recording showing how to install and configure the game to work correctly, and for whatever reason I decide to stop hosting it.  If I don't edit my post to reflect a valid download link to the recording, this person is just going to click my dead link, and be shit out of luck.  Isn't this just logical common sense to everyone?Again, in today's world, I am not sure what is causing this problem to occur so much.  Space should not be an issue at all.  Most audiogames are not that big.  Of course, there are some that are, and for those, put them somewhere dependable if you can't host them on your own PC or server, and just point to that in your post.  With respect to recordings, space is irrelevant...just upload the shit to Youtube, and it will never die.

I also suggest jugglers, sword swallower's, fire eaters/fire dancers, traveling blademasters who challenge your champion (you could get extra popularity for winning and a decrease for losing, bigger for rejecting the fight), simple randomly generated plays and dances, etc.For some of these things, like jugglers, sword swallower's, magicians, fire eaters, acrobats etc, it would be cool if you would basically get some text about them doing their thing, then you hit enter to see what happens, that way it adds suspense.Also some randomization e.g. maybe the juggler one time is juggling something dangerous like daggers or lit lanterns or sharpened fans, and you have to pay more for it, but if they fuck up then the text can be over the top and amusing. lolAlso maybe randomly colored materials, scarves, balls, wooden or clay discs, fruits, red green one time, blue red the next, yellow purple the next? doesn't have to be just 2 colors each time but you get the idea, also maybe gold/silver coins? And yes, I do realize that this is getting past the alternative to bards territory.

I agree with turtlepower17 and cae_jones. Just because there are some shady add-ons for NVDA hat are technically illegal doesn't make the entire product illegal. That's like saying that someone's computer that runs windows is illegal because said computer has pirated applications on it. That's not making windows illegal, that's not making the computer itself illegal, that's making the methods used to register those particular applications illegal. It doesn't make the applications illegal, either. Don't claim that JAWS is better because it has a higher price tag and it is supposedly better than everything else. JaWS is bad for exactly that reason -- the incredibly high price tag and the feature bloat. If I were to guess, I'd estimate that over 90 percent of the members on this forum do not have enough money to pay for JAWS legally, so ask their local governments to do it for them, or crack it. That's extremely sad, considering the amount of members on this forum. If we do a comparison between JAWS and NVDA, comparing price tags and features, NVDA is going to win, simply because it is far more open, allows users to customize it however they want, and is entirely free. Smart controls doesn't make JAWS better; ever heard of screen layout? That's effectively NVDA's equivalent to smart controls. NVDA doesn't have flexible web; that really is quite irrelevant since it only works in internet explorer.

I use an 8bitdo controller on Windows and my other devices. They're both wireless and wired. They make different controller models based on controllers from Nintendo's retro consoles. For example, they make controllers based on the original NES and original Famicom (called the NES30 and FC30), and ones based on the Super NES and Super Famicom (called the SNES30 and SFC30). They also make Pro versions of the aforementioned controllers, which have two analog sticks and two sets of shoulder buttons instead of one. They're a bit on the pricy side, but they're really great.

Between this, the now infamously cool Table Flipper game, me replaying bk3 with translation because I was never able to beat the original version because I had too low defence, testing Everdark Clash as well which is now in public beta, this year's still going strong. Think you have to learn the hard way to double check names on forums if you're using a screen reader. There was a guy on an Amazon forum who had the name sou wester, which should be pronounced souwester. Not sure why he split the thing up, I'm guessing he was from the south west of England and probably into sailing, and it was an attempt at a pun of sorts. I don't know, all I know is when I first read his posts, I assumed he was a woman, and called him Sue, which must have bemused him no end . Some gut instinct told me to check the spelling of the name before I used it the next time... red face.

While it probably isn't a problem to ask for genuine old versions of ultrapower, I wouldn't go asking for source, because whether you intended to or not, you basically just did by saying it can be source. Also, keep in mind that we could really only give you versions that rely on your own server if you really want them. There are, as you probably know, versions that are anything but future proof, and are nonfunctional because they rely on the dedicated server, it would be futile to upload those.

I find myself using windows movie maker.  It works fairly well for me, and I do drum covers on YouTube and merge some videos together with transitions between them.  I'm using it with an NVDA script, for I don't have Jaws, but I'm able to do everything I did with my videos before.   IT's just a bit tedious. I wish Sony Vegas was accessible.  That'd be king awesome.

Of course no one has to use any feature of any software that they don't want to. I hoped that would be obvious.K said it best, though. Less is usually more when it comes to using any program, and screen readers should be no exception. That's why I like NVDA, because I get to choose, up to a point, and a pretty flexible one at that, which features I want and which I don't. So sure, I got a little unnecessarily snippy in my other posts, but that was because I don't think it's right or productive to shit on a product just because it's free, because it's been very helpful to lots of people who would have either had no choice but to crack a screen reader, or go without, and that kind of attitude is something that really makes me angry.

Part of the problem is that a lot of these links point to a file on DropBox, and DropBox will actively block a file from being downloaded if they see the file being accessed by too many different IP addresses.A good and relatively simple solution is to submit games to the audio games archive, then post a link to the archives copy of it. That way, even if you can't keep hosting the game for whatever reason, it is where anyone who might want it can find it.

I must say, Ukio knows how to really make a comprehensive tutorial. This one, not so much.I think the only way to complete this tutorial is if you've played any of Cae's previous games. I've got the object viewer and I can see where I am, but I can hear crates on my right, character footsteps on my left. Shit, I've played mainstream fighters before that wasn't this complecated audio wise.

It's sad how allot of good potential games like the killer got destroyed cause of stupid developer's choisses and such, then redspot becomes on the top list again. I fiel like redspot is now 3d ultrapower with out a account system and no safehouse. Really. Look at the old ultrapower topics and you will see what I mean. I want to create something but, as so often give up because of time, server, And when I post something in the new releases room..."This is a clone!", "That sound is from there and there!", "that and that weapon has the same name!", I simply don't want to diel with any of that. Shure I can use twitter or such, Someone will post that here, and boom! Same as ubbuv. needless to say, Sam has simply become a monopoly when it comes to fps games, and I think that making new games is needless because, as always, there will always be his pals who know every inch of redspot and are reddy to use that to put the cloned flag by that game and it's developer are never hird of again and the developer of that game changes his personality just because someone decided to destroy there reputation. then everyone gets that we want everything to be as pure as water, then everyone no longer makes games. That's why we get so excited when something new comes out witch isn't greeted with this is a clone type reply.

There are no ramps in the combat tutorial. The only ramp in the tutorials is in the grappling tutorial (you'll know it when you find it). If you hear yourself slide, but not fall, you're most likely just sliding to a stop. If you are hearing yourself sliding and falling, that's very strange and I'd very much like to know how to reproduce it I conclude I wrote that combo wrong somewhere. Possibly several somewheres. Maybe B, B, B, forward+B? I will be looking into this one for sure.Buffering would require a radical change in how input is handled. Also, there are some situations where it's simply not possible to rely on (B, B is different from B-B, as anyone who plays the prologue will soon discover).Back-dashing might be poorly explained in the tutorial. This is exactly the sort of thing for which feedback is good, since I already knew how it worked when I wrote it, so might unwittingly fill in information in my head without realizing I left it out! Communication seems to be the biggest weakness in my projects, so I definitely want to hear where this needs improvement.

I am certainly glad that this is a public beta, I think there's a lot that needs polishing, and not just sound wise. Perhaps I'm spoiled, because I'm coming off the back of playing BK3 for the past few days, but even so, here goes:Firstly, I like the concept of this game, a lot. But why, in the third tutorial, does it sometimes sound like I'm sliding near the edges of the stage? I don't think ramps should be taken into consideration at this stage in the game, this is supposed to be a basic tutorial, no wonder I'm struggling to hit my opponent. This is a combat tutorial, not a gymnast. It also seems like some of the stuff has way too strict timing for keyboard users, but more on that in a moment.I think that in the dashing section, it should make clear that you can perform the command while turning. Because at the moment, to do a back dash, I'm turning to literally face backwards, and it wasn't until you gave the tip of just tapping back twice while an attack is going on ,, that it worked... until, that is, I jsut literally had another go before writing this post, and it took me far longer to do than I think it should. Seems really inconsistant.Now, onto the part that is, at the moment, making me literally give up. I haven't tried a joystick yet, but I can't seem to do racing the dragon. I've tried b, b, up plus forward plus b, I've tried b, b, right right plus b, and I either don't jump, or just walk, and I'm trying to even do this just after I hit with the second punch, but every single time, I've dropped the combo. I have been at it for around 20 minutes now. For a first introduction to combat, this is more like one of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite's harder trials. A basic, three-hit, combo should not take 20 minutes to master. My only suggestion, in that case, is to perhaps let the inputs buffer. Yes, that'll be complex to code, but you do seem to be aiming for complex stuff, and it's honestly the only way I can see this working at the moment. I've literally tried everything in my power., and it does not help that the tutorial says b, b, up plus forward b, while the move list says b, b, right right b. This game does seem to have a lot going for it, and I do like the concept, but getting stuck on a basic tutorial, or seemingly ending up randomly getting through it as I managed to do with the acrobat tutorial by flipping, just doesn't seem right. In BK3, I'd argue the challenged ramped up around stage 5, so you felt like you had progressed a bit. But this, well I don't know what to say. I don't like acting negatively towards something, but I am not happy about being stuck on a seemingly basic area for around 20 minutes.

Because a lot of people seem to go by how a word sounds, rather than looking up to see how it's spelled. It's actually kind of annoying. With all this technology, there's absolutely no reason not to look up the spelling of a word if you're not sure about how to spell it. It's all laziness.

@CAE: I can sort of see where you are coming from, because it would have to check the active profile and say what ke it's set to, but I think it should be doable.I am also having the trouble with the third tutorial. So, do you backstep while turning? That's the confusing part. I also really struggled with the acrobatics tutorial and grabbing the bars, I somehow managed it. Also leaping to the other side of the secon river. I tap right arrow tice to start running, interestingly, walking and running speed seems to sound the same for this particular character.

That, and coming up with a name for the group defined by Man of the Dark and Dark himself is a bit harder than it should be. The DA? The Dark One is bound at Sheyol Gul, so that's out. The Dark Legion is busy tending the Chaos Dimension. And I remember something about the Armies of Darkness being of dubious repute. Dark... Collar? You are a good one to talk about blind people wanting everything for free. Look at your own choice. Have you donated anything to NV Access to support the development of NVDA?Monthly updates? What's wrong with that? Everybody knows that technology is always changing, so a program that isn't updated is very quickly a program that doesn't work any more. Microsoft does monthly updates if not more frequent. NV Access does quarterly updates, Freedom Scientific, like Microsoft, does monthly updates. So what's the problem? Or is it simply that you don't like JAWS so you vilify anything and everything Freedom Scientific does, even if it's the same thing everybody else in the industry is doing.The BGT keyboard hook problem isn't as big a problem as you'd like everyone to believe. It's a minor annoyance with several work arounds, nothing more.

hi, how do you pass the third tutorial? I duck the chinese dude's attack, works fine. I jump his next attack, also works fine. Then I'm supposed to run left, which I do, but it doesn't seam to realise that I did it and just stays on that part of the tutorial. So I eventually reach the stage's end, so have to go back right. I tried going all the way to the right end of the stage then left again, but it didn't work.

Well, unless it's a recent change, I thought those games were around dolar 10. Well, i'll try to clear up the issue here, and explain how it's not accessibility related. Basically, the games were too similar to each other. They used similar menu structure, settings screens, and such things. So, it is normal to expect such a thing from Apple. The problem here is that he had a wrong assumption that blind people would find menus too complex if they were different, thus making it seem like it's accessibility related, and to be honest I find RS games more complex than if it just used a standard interface. All the gestures you have to remember, and everything being direct touch for no reason.

Thumbs up mftd, you said pretty much what I would've done as a moderator, (indeed I'm going to need to go and moderate the other topic lol). I personally used supernova for 17 years up until last January, when I found their policy of "support the bits of Windows 10 we like"  to be the direct opposite of their ability to cope with anything xp could throw at them (and yes, I was using xp for longer than I should've done but as I was getting married in 2016 computers weren't really on my mind).So I switched to Nvda full time and haven't been disappointed.Every screen reader has it's quirks as you said, and while rational discussion of good and bad points can be interesting, going into a playground type "my gang's better than your gang" really won't be of much use to anyone.

I couldn't get the xbox controller I bought to work with Windows, because that makes sense somehow in the antimatter universe. I've had no trouble with PS4, and my primary ssetup is a couple PS1 controllers connected to a USB adapter.

You know I do wander why they can't just do what they did with teamtalk, bareware had a new interface for teamtalk, in qt that was not accessible.He just transfered the old interface over.For us we don't need the home tab, just the main interface.The bit of the skype interface which is not accessible are all the extra buttons and the fact I couldn't get sounds to play on it the menus work and at least in nvda the buttons for some things did work settings worked and read but still.If we could keep the standard interface well.Yeah, any new win10 versions they want you to use the skype app and well who knows.I know from filehippo you can still get skype classic and if you search for it ms still have it.You can also get a version from oldversion.com then update that one.As long as ms supports skype classic on their servers we are ok, however if it comes down to it I am going to have to send a mail at ms access and see exactly what they can do, others should probably do the same.Its bad enough we have to struggle with sighted things at the best of times but heck, skype?Come on!Worse because ms no longer allows people to use skypekit anymore its not like we can fucking switch to another client!And while I don't need skype a huge amount I do still use it.So what if skype goes the way its going.Simple, I will simply just not use skype which really means that I have less of a reason to upgrade to win10 and use ms accounts at all.For the short term I will have to make sure I never get the latest skype.In the long term maybe 5 years maybe sooner I am going to be having to get ios, facetime, whats app, and the like.I was thinking of getting into a smart phone, most of the family use droid and ios, and we have equal amounts of devices however well.I just hope the skype app is usable in win10 for what its worth.

Yes. It's an rpg game anyways, so probably will take a lot of time to beat at least the main adventure. Joseph said that the main story itself takes over 10 hours as an average, so guess it for yourself. I might take over 15 hours for the first run, so imagine the other quests and how valuable the repliability is in this game. So expect something that would entertain you for a good long while.

@Dark I certainly understand where you're coming from, and it's not that I don't believe him, but at first he gave us the accessibility team to contact, which is used for reporting accessibility bugs, and second he gave us very little info. In no way do I agree with comments such as i'm happy they did it, because if you're happy that we lost games, no matter whether you played them or no then you don't deserve to play any games. I respect his time and what he did, however could he do it much better? Of course. I do agree that most of his 80 games are really just minigames, and let's put it this way. Each his game costs at least 10 dollars, and you do have to pay if you want to play more to get coins. Now, let's count it this way. A person who loves his games will get at least one purchase per game, so that's 80 games, 800 dollars. And that's just one person, not even counting the ridiculously overpriced RS games in here, from which he also gets money and greatly rips off all players who play for free on PC. So if that's not enough of a return of investment, then I think he wanted too much.

Hello everyone,It's been a long while since I've written my last post on this forum, and perhaps the monthly chat topics.First off, I've been quite busy with my M.B.A assignment tests and mid exams, and playing on RS Games between the exams, so wasn't able to post here. My second mid exams are fast approaching, and if my memory serves me well, they start on November 20, and there won't be any break thereafter, as I'll have to prepare for the first semester examinations to be held from december 4, and the external practical exams for the IT Workshop to be held just days before the semester exams. That being said, I'll be quite busy for long while in the near future.Keeping that aside, I had my mac upgraded to High Sierra, and the experience so far has been a positive one, though I wonder why the image description feature of VoiceOver isn't working as expected. Other than that, I haven't experienced any major problems that could degrade my user experience.In game related news, I've been playing a lot on RS Games, and I'm enjoying it a lot. I, however, stopped playing MUDs as I lost interest in them, mostly because I was more interested in playingg on RS Games.So there you have it, alll about what I'm doing now.

Hi all,I've updated SF to fix some issues, and added a config for Day of the Tentacle Remastered.You can find a binary release of the software here: https://github.com/FedUni/SoniFight/releases/tag/v1.1When playing dott, every item the mouse moves over is now spoken, and when you right-click on an item the push/pull/give/use text is spoken before the item name (Push fake barf, open fake barf etc.).I haven't gone through the entire game with SF running, but it's looking pretty stable to me.
