Re: undead strike - new beginnings (card zombie game)

A common sort of deck building mechanic is cards that let you draw other cards, or specific kinds of other cards.E.G: You might play an "abandoned armory security codes" card and draw two weapon cards.or a "running gear" card and draw a movement card.and so on.

Re: Bulwark in the City of Flesh

Hey!Thanks again for the cool game.re:compassRight now, I've been honestly kind of playing it like a 2d top-down sort of thing, rather than first person, because it's honestly just less disorienting to walk around always facing one direction, rather than turning and potentially forgetting what direction I'm facing. So it's how I've worked around it, but the added beep or direction facing notification would go a long way towards making the first perspective feel a lot smoother.Menus:I love love the idea behind the mouse menus; it's so much faster than arrows. I wouldn't have called them clunky until now but I'm pretty sure after this all arrow based menus will feel clunky.Any chance you could add a click to know when you've switched options? It doesn't have to be loud or anything, in fact I'd prefer it be something really subtle, but it could be nice if you know roughly were an option is and are just trying to slide to it. There are also a few dialogue options that start with a pause or an intake of breath, so knowing when I'm jumping between those faster might be niche useful. This isn't necessary or even a concern, just something which might be a tiny quality of life change.Other stuff:I think the most unique thing I've seen so far was the ability to jump between perspectives back on Earth, with the two guys listening to the SOS.Seriously, that's so creative.10/10 mechanic, love it.

Touchpad works fine and if you have a laptop with no touchpad or a desktop with no mouselolIdk what to tell you. "This isn't 1982?"It's not like this requires super precision control either. It's really neat that you can't slide off the screen or anything, and at most you'll have like 4 options to slide between, or a single swipe left/right for turning. That's it.Though it would be really nice to have a way to know what direction you're facing. If you forget what way you turned last it can be a bit tough to reorient yourself. That or like a confirmation beep in audio mode when you turn? Or combining the two (telling you north/east/west/south whenever you flick to turn a new direction).Otherwise, I've been having a great time so far. There's a weird distortion for the node dialogue stuff, but I assumed that was intentional given it goes away immediately afterwards and you only get it at very specific points in the game. Also, it's simultaneously incredible and heartbreaking that I'm typing this but:Holy crap, an audiogame with meaningful dialogue options!Wow!

As for music, I know it's been suggested before, but if not a soundtrack, at least a way to listen to the music in game somehow. And where was the suggestion for the ability to use other battle musics if you'd heard them before, which would be super awesome, but that sounds like something less straightforward. Hey, that idea for making hidden items less of a slog sounds pretty cool.It wouldn't really invalidate the item finder either, because you'd have to walk right on the item to find it, and I think one of the most annoying things about the greater vgstorm experience is definitely mashing that enter key with every arrow press to find random stuff. Here the items would still be hidden, and you'd have to walk right on top of one to find it, and justnot risk jamming your enter key to 100% a game. Please consider this or something like it--if not in manamon 2, then at least in future games? Thanks.

A couple things, some of these may be bugs, others may not, but they all range from trivial to minor inconvenience:-The smallest one: there's an extra period before the last two words of the camera manamon's last form's description in the manapedia entry.-Maybe this one isn't a bug/oversight, but I really really hope it is: when returning to Requia through the machine, there's a hole from the heart to Requia, but not the other way around.-Lastly, a definite bug that isn't a big deal. If you encounter something while sliding on ice, the rest of the slide after the battle will have no sound.

A couple things, some of these may be bugs, others may not, but they all range from trivial to minor inconvenience:-The smallest one: there's an extra period before the last two words of the camera manamon's last form's description in the manapedia entry.-Maybe this one isn't a bug, but I really really hope it is: when returning to Requia through the machine, there's a hole from the heart to Requia, but not the other way around.-Lastly, a definite bug that isn't a big deal. If you encounter something while sliding on ice, the rest of the slide after the battle will have no sound.

Muhahahaha, finally found something that learns conjure sword.Kind of related, for the purposes of equipment, do moves that count as two types also count as the singular? As in, if there's an item that boost magic type attacks by 25%, and a move is both steel and magic, will the item still apply its bonuses?

Should you be able to challenge the master statium more than once? The credits rolled, I saw my stats, but all the masters still treat me like a challenger as does the person by the bed.A more spoilery question:There are a couple places where it looks like you need an extra item or something to get to because "the water is so deep". Or does that mean something else?Either way, has anyone figured out how to interact with them?Even more massive spoilers about post-game:Actually, general advice on post game stuff would be nice. What can you do at the Guardian Grove? How do you progress the story with the cave of Fates? I solved all the puzzles, but can't do anything to the boss, and I assumed that was a story thing.Does the machine in Alaza's lab do anything?I didn't know you could capture Cowgod; it doesn't seem to be back at the Requea area. Is it at the shrine? What can I do with the black matter husks. I only have two. Are there more?

Small spoilers, but there's actually a neat trick to that boss:the counter isn't against the manamon, it's against the move.So if, for example, in some hypothetical situation, you had a bug type using sound type moves-.mmm?

Spoilertimehere we goI actually stumbled across it by accident because it's been a fixture of my party. All you have to do is get an 80% or higher on a rhythm game with it in your party.Move set seems to be pretty much the same from its smaller form, so don't worry about evolving it too early or anything. It's kind of fragile given it's typing, but a special attack monster once it learns plague and attack concerto.

I found an answer to my first question--just had to visit the tutor. It's called attack concerto and it's as awesome as the sound effect implies. I'm pretty proud of my spiderfriend! Also, just a suggestion if it doesn't do this already, but it would be super nice if soothing symphony could cure other friendly manamon on the field, or even used out of combat, but I understand that second one would probably be a lot harder.Help with the second thing would still be nice though, if there is any to be had.

Re: Return to the world of Manamon in Manamon 2: The Eternal Requiem

There are some huge spoilers for everything from the beginning to mid-late-ish game in this post. Read at your own peril.First of all, color me impressed. Manamon II feels like an objective improvement from manamon i. The mechanics are familiar but play more smoothly, there are more tools to make everything more convenient. The point distribution plan, for example, and the easier access to tonics, and the simplification of training point earning were all very satisfying to the munchkin in me.Many of the manamon I’ve experimented so far appear to be--if not always amazing--at least usable with a little work, items, and sometimes some compromise. It’s clear more thought went into the balancing of movesets and types the second time around. Moves especially: eclipse rocket, geocombat, terramagma, elemental assault, combat sonata, etc. are pretty cool and different.Sure maybe the game could do with some basic grammar checking, but there are parts that actually read surprisingly well. The simulation arc was a little tropey, but still a coherent exploration into the ideas of life, loss, and mortality during which your character isn’t a cringingly insensitive jerk. Even at its worst it reads better than Manamon.Mechanically and content wise I’ve been having a blast. There’s so much to do: side areas and side quests, every boss fight so far has had its own unique twists, and some of the puzzles are really fun and creative. And sometimes frustrating, but that’s part of the experience, so it’s great.Still, it’s true some grammar checking could be nice and maybe more dialogue trees. I don’t always like playing the good guy, but sometimes, giving players the ability to respond to situations differently can help enrich a story. I’m specifically referring to the Mamia detective stuff. It could be a matter of agency, but it’s always very jarring for me to play a game and have my character do something without my input. That’s great for reading stories, because none of them are the character I’m playing as an interacting in the world in, but not so much for a video game. I could be playing as Blake, the angry manamon trainer, or John, the humble wannabe master chef who’s off on a manamon adventure to learn about cooking customs across the land. It’s a little weird that both would respond to every situation the same way.An example of where this was done well is at the dark gym. You have options of how to explain your original withdrawal, and that was great.A smaller level cap, or more moves about level 50-ish would be really nice. I haven’t found many manamon that learn moves beyond that point. Though I did enjoy finding the last evolution of the music spider. That was very neat.Lastly, some questions:Does symphonid ever learn that cool move its hyper form uses in the jungle? Not the web weaving gimmick. I can't remember what it's called, but the sound for it was something like a piano riff and then a clap of thunder. And is there a better way to disable the machines binding artisoul at the heart? The game seems to imply the thermos is suboptimal, but will work because you have nothing else, but I’ve looked everywhere in the snow and underground areas and haven’t found anything that might work better. Is that really the only solution? Thanks!

Sorry for the double post here, but I didn't want the question to get lost in the unrelated spoiler. Is there a way to gain fast travels for the forest area? I got them for the graveyard and the mines, and it just feels strange that it's possible to gain them for two of three areas, even if the forest/great road is by far the least maze-like of all three. I'm pretty sure I've completed all the forest quests too, so I'm not at all sure what I could be missing. Also, I'm guessing it's not actually possible to reach Stormbay? Thanks!

I did this by overloading on evasion gear; ghostwalker's ring, deepwood ghostwalker's hood, elven cloak, common glamor, and ring of the wraithlord.. It can probably be achieved with less, but if I'm being honest, all of this was done mostly for shiggles.

Hope's quest to find her friend is broken. Complete it and the game gets stuck in an empty dialog box with no way to get out of it. No error to post either. Completion sound plays and game remains quiet inside the text box; hitting enter makes the scrolling noise but nothing actually happens, and the up and down arrows make the end/start of text noise without reading anything. No other key provokes a response from the game.Enjoy.

Here's a chunk of bugs and typos. I tried to be as descriptive as possible, but a lot of times that just wasn't possible because I had no idea what might have caused it; the actions were things I'd done before or something similar. For your reading convenience, errors are separated by a row of dashes.Distracting wolves. This happened in the great road area through the north gate. Sorry to be a bit vague about this, but I can't remember where exactly it appeared. There's a very small typo in the dialog of the mayor the first time you ever speak to him. I know the error was just "then" instead of "than", so nothing major, especially since there's voiced text, but I hope it gets fixed anyway.

Re: Release Date Announcement for A Hero's Call

Almost 600 posts and this thing isn't even out yet, [[wow]]. As far as the replayability thing goes, I feel like I'm the weird one out in that I play most story driven rpgs (in the style of final fantasy or Suikoden) less for the mechanics, and more for the story. If there aren't very divergent paths of play at some point in the story, then replaying it would be like rereading a good book right after having recently read it. There's nothing inherently wrong with this; in fact, it's awesome when a game leaves me feeling like I just read through a novel from start to finish. I'm just saying I think I'd prefer a long or robust story-tree I can play through once or twice, thoroughly enjoy, and happily put down in a week or two, with no qualms about waiting for the next good release, rather than something infinitely replayable but with little depth or forethought put into its design. Of course this is entirely based about my preconceived notions of what AHC will be, and not what it actually is, so there's that, too. Poor Joseph sounds like a guy fresh out of finals -- things are wrapping up, but final grades aren't out yet. Good luck, buddy, and I'm sure everything will turn out great.

Re: The Gathering Mud

I would like to apologize in advance for the negativity. The following represents one player's brief experience and opinions, and nothing more.I'm wondering if there is a drastic increase in quality after character creation process and newbie school. There were help files missing for some of the classes and races, the game does nothing to try and explain what stats and skills are good for what classes, and some race descriptions, like goblin and gnojni, are straight up copied from each other. My experience in the starting area was altogether bland; the content felt outdated -- the syntax for walkin and walkout messages, for example, was completely different, and I didn't even know about remorting before someone happened to mention it on the ooc channel -- and there were typos everywhere. I saw nothing about crafting, and something about an outdated hunger and thirst system they say does not apply but for some reason exists, and outright recommend players rest while roleplaying so that they don't fall asleep or something. I'd be willing to continue trying this mud out, but I really haven't seen much to set this mud apart from the others -- stock rom/rot skill selection process, stock rom/rot combat, and stock starting area. About the only thing I thought was interesting and unique were some of the rp tools, like the ability to interact with players and objects in emotes, and the ability to combine your sit, stand, and rest messages into an emote. That being said, I did only play through the starting area and quest, but it is often said that first impressions are important.

Re: Everdark Clash enters public beta

Not sure if this has been suggested already, but have you considered adding like a practice mode where you just pick a character and can test combos out on some kind of dummy creature? Maybe when you properly execute a combo you get a notification about the name of it, some useful features like that? Also I'm not sure if it's just me, but there seem to be some really strange issues with the panning; a lot of times I move around and the sound stays near the middle, and suddenly it jumps all the way to the left or right, and I find it difficult to tell exactly where I am in relation to my enemy without using the object finder (which I can't in battle mode). This latter fact is sort of exacerbated by the range of most moves -- for many of the battle tutorial combos I literally could not pull any of the combos unless I was directly in front of the target, something I could not do without bumping into him or using object finder. Bumping into stuff is fine if not all that realistic, except it's such a quiet sound that you'd likely miss it while getting your ass kicked, and in that time the enemy may have gotten behind you, so you're no longer even facing the right way. I have trouble breaking out of grapples or, hell, even knowing when I get grappled, for similar reasons. I don't mean to sound like a jerk or anything, just trying to give honest feedback on a beta stage game, and hoping there's something useful in here.

Re: You're a Cyclepath!

This game is pretty addictive. Finding all the achievements and buying different maps keeps making me want to continue playing.  I am having a small problem with it though. This might be an issue with my computer, but the problem I'm experiencing occurs if I keep the application open for longer than, say, ten minutes. After that point I start experiencing weird audio clipping, the game lags enormously, then NVDA crashes, and then my entire computer basically freezes until I press the power key. If I close it before this happens I can instantly reopen it again and continue playing with no complications, but if I don't it kind of sucks. This is a windows 7 64bit system, so nothing very special about it, though I'll admit the laptop isn't the newest shiniest model or anything, so I'm not sure if it might be some weird performance issue or anything.  Do you consider this pretty much finished beyond bug fixes? Or are you planning new con
tent releases in the future? It's a great game as is (I love when I fly over the finish line on my deathflails), but I'm curious, and more stuff is always fun.

Re: Seedship, single player text based space exploration browser game

This is pretty fun though I feel like, because the way the game is designed, it's sort of impossible, or at least highly improbable, you'll get a super good score unless you find a good planet quickly. Still, all the random encounters and scenarios that can occur feel well thought out and diverse enough to make sacrifices difficult, but manageable. I've played through the game about five or 6 times through, and my highest score so far has been 11546.

Been playing off and on for the last couple days, and something that keeps bothering me is the goofiness of the descriptions. I understand it might be boring to describe 200 something rooms, but that's no reason why you should be having my character do completely random things or not somehow integrating these random things into the game play. This is exacerbated by the fact that the builder seems to create in a specific direction, and expects the player to walk in that direction, so that if you start walking backwards through the area the descriptions are even more garbled.I'm not asking for beautifully written 7-liners in each and every room, but I wish it could at least stick to the basic no god-modding, actual describing rules. At least don't make my character do stupid things without my consent, like standing in front of a suit of armor and whispering into its visorOK maybe that one was actually funny, but still. Also there are so
me items the game says I find after a battle, but that I don't actually see in my inventory. The medallion of nova is one, and the death essences in the mausoleum are another.

Re: Empire mud 2.0

Anything from beginner level to I'd say around mid range is soloed easily Enough. Getting your skills to max, getting to gear level 150 or so -- maybe even 200 if you're careful and good -- all this is soloable. Anything high end,, however, is mostly designed for grouping. It's being worked on with different difficulty levels for the same adventures, but still, even the easiest modes for especially powerful bosses are impossible to do alone.I love empire mud 2.0, and have been playing it off and on since before beta. Recently though, I find myself enjoying it less and less, because it's slowly but gradually moving away from the crafting and building focuses, and moving towards basically the reason I rarely play muds anymore -- more grind and find style mechanics. The best example I can give of this are the 50 or so new equipment patterns added to the game. These 50 patterns, pieces of craftable equipment between levels 125 and 225 or so, can drop on any
creature in any part of the world of the appropriate level. In practice, this means players spend less time crafting the equipment, and more time walking around mindlessly killing things to get it to load.I realize this post is colored heavily by my bias and, despite this, I don't mean to put you off playing. It is a wonderful mud, particularly if it's your first time actually building an empire, but, like all things, it has its less appealing characteristics. I'm pretty sure, however, that I've never had as much fun on a mud as I did planning out our empire's massive capital city. The best thing about empire mud is seeing your empire rise from literally nothing. I hope you can find this sort of enjoyment in your gameplay.

What was the text? Also the Eldron Bridge quests are nice, but those books are really expensive. Any tips for making crowns quickly?

How come undead is listed as a race in the classes-by-race breakdown list? Is it a quest-only option, or something currently in development?

Um? I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but I bought some part crates earlier today and when I existed hyperspace a couple hours ago I got a message that said:[Captain Popadropalis has purchased your part "Basic Kinetic Core".][Captain Popadropalis has purchased your part "Basic Nuclear Core".][Captain Popadropalis has purchased your part "Basic Snub Barrel".][Captain Popadropalis has purchased your part "Inertia Launcher".]I wasn't told how many credits I gained for each, but that's a little beside the point; I really didn't want to sell these. Are things automatically tagged to be sold if you don't have a weapon crafting module yet? Also, my stats page says I'm level 21, but I'm still in led division. I've noticed that the term level seems to be a bit ambiguous sometimes -- the score boards seem to use it to refer to highest skill, while the stats page calculates i
t by adding all skills together -- so which one does the division ranks use?[[wow]], a bunch of new books got added, guess I should try to collect them all again.Thanks.

I love this new weapon crafting thing, but, honestly, damage types looks really unbalanced. Why would you ever want anything other than antimatter? Rarity isn't an excuse when it's really only a matter of time before every high end player is flying around with full antimatter armaments because there doesn't seem to be anything better (The comparisons table lists antimatter as being very good against both shields and hull, when the highest rating on any other damage type is good, and even then,, only against one thing, not both). It'd be a lot nicer and balanced if there was a reason why you'd want to use other things over antimatter.

I mean if you wanted to take the first half of that post as seriously I guess you could have.Wasn't the intention though.Sorry if you saw it as a personal offenseI was messing around with champions in armies, and I noticed there skill score doesn't seem to equal their battle score. I'm using a somewhat older version, so I'm not sure if maybe this got fixed in a later update. Is there a formula for this? Or are all champions sent to war given a fixed battle score (because I agree,,, managing to hire an unknown with 999 battle score or whatever the max for that title is would be kind of overpowered, but I'm not sure a one-legged, or one-handed crippled human should have the same battle score as an ogre).Somewhat but not entirely related, I wonder if signatures will ever be returned to us? i miss my balloon army.

Jesus guys, this is a war simulation game, not a universe simulation game. We might as well ask for weather patterns, fully implemented solar system (randomly generated, of course), randomly generated religions for every faction, randomly generated plants and mountains and terrains and oceans,, randomly generated waste products for different races, a full list of every rock and ore in the universe for mining, an ore-to-metal refinement system, ultra intelligent AI that will contact your toaster from within the warsim application and make you toast to your exact specifications (with, of course, a randomly generated option), fully immersive virtual reality for combat scenes, oh, and I guess fully implemented physics engine, too. I'll admit I haven't downloaded the latest warsim in a couple months, but I'll snatch it next update and check out all the cool new chang
es; I saw some cool things and nice bug fixes scrolling through the changelog posts.Keep it up Wastelander, you're probably one of the most active developers that sticks around these forums.

Why have menus show from best to worst in terms of flat distance, Though? As it is currently, only by using the nearby navigation method do I even know what direction I'm traveling in. I think by having all menus have the behind you, ahead of you thing it'd be easier to compare distances and plan stuff out. Unless there's another way of checking what direction you're traveling in I'm not aware of?

Been kind of sitting here for about a day, waiting for an engineer ship to load...this sucks. Also, ,why aren't structures navigation menus shown in the same behind you -> location -> right of you format as other things are? I was trying to get to a shipwright which seemed to be 4 lys away from another, only to find out that I'd actually been sitting in a sector 89 sectors away from one and 93 from the other (in the opposite direction). Kind of annoying, especially since this thing is literally in the middle of nowhere, so I hope I can get an engineer before I need to find resources, but whatever. Any way this could get added/fixed easily?

Nods, was wondering about that, haha. Something I feel would make these minefields a lot less of a spamming/trolling hazard while still having them do what they're supposed to is maybe if they only activate when the faction in question is hostile towards you (if that can be determined somehow). That resource thing sounds interesting, I love the amount of cool random little things there are in this game, like all the different sector types, planets, stars, resource variations, etc.

Just over 75% to completing phase one of  project build-a-base (acquire an engineer ship). Once the base is functioning, I want to get a merchant station or something up, and then try and start some recruitment. how do players typically go about recruiting to their faction? Are there message boards, public advertisement things, etc? I found an awesome planet too, I hope no one takes it before I can build on and claim it. Also yeah, books are nice, I've been buying all the ones I can, so that hopefully something sticks with the character (73/76 books, currently). Are the seven wonders of the universe located in fixed places, or do you just find  them while randomly exploring?

(I have been to several sectors where it says there is a ship in the distance, it is sill, or something to that effect.) Scanning them says there are no player ships in the sector.Out of curiosity, what does the precious resource represent? The others make sense, but precious...how do you quantify that? I ask because I'm wondering what the best places for mining it are? I could look for metal based planets or asteroid fields for metal, organic clouds for organic, chemical planets for chemical, and stars for energy, but what do I look for with precious?

Can you use something other than IOS for this? Clearly it's not being fixed, and clearly you know this. Either complain to people who can actually do something about it in a non-trolling manner or stop using the app until it's fixed, but I'm not sure how much 4 one-line posts about  the same issue is going to help anything. I don't mean to sound like a jerk but it's been brought up before, it's been reported that it's been brought to Facebook's attention, and then it's been brought up again here with absolutely no new information. I don't have to announce that I'm still breathing every five minutes; we don't need to complain about something known to be inaccessible being inaccessible every day.I'm not sure if this was a bug or if I just accidentally missed the message (in which case there was no confirm button) but I got a notification a few days ago that said I received 0 credits for my scanning miss

I'm pretty sure it was on the first day of the new missions menu with the scanning missions, if that helps. I don't remember at what time, but I can search for it if necessary.

Re: TextSpaced sci-fi text-based MMO

Tl,dr:You can buy books, ships, and ports and sell ports and resources. IOS supports selling only all resources at once. Things are bought at merchant bases and stations, and stock refreshes every hour. There are probably price variations across sectors which might allow you to make a profit off buying cheaper than you sell.Full description:To buy and sell you'll need to use the computer (ios doesn't seem to work, because it's link based). Land at a merchant base/station, decide what you want to buy (whether port -- upgrades for your ship, which include weapons, cargo hold expansion, etc, or books, which I think have a chance of raising your skill at stuff) and select the appropriate button. Every hour, items in each of these categories are randomized, so if nothing in the list interests you, you can go to a different base/station and see what's there, or just wait until the next hour. I think different bases and stations offer different price
s for things, which is the theory behind gunrunning -- buy weapon cheaper at point a, go to point b, sell it for more. Buying ships works similarly, but you do this at a shipwright, and have to name them once you buy them. As for selling, you can't sell books and, as far as I'm aware, you can't sell ships, either. You can sell ports though, and you can also mine and sell resources (this last one requires links only if you're not selling all of it; if you want to sell everything you mined, I'm pretty sure there's always a suggested button at the top of the merchant menu that allows you to sell all resources).Hope this helps.
