I never studied at one, but I did visit a flat from the blind school that Simba is referring to (I believe I know which school that is), and the school itself. I was very impressed with the technology that I saw at that school, but in reality the flat life seemed so structured and rigid that I know I could never live like that. I was invited to visit the flat, as I was in the same city on an exchange program between my public school and one of the publicc cschools in the city, and since I'm blind I was extended that invitation. Did I see it as an eye-opening experience? yes. Would I wish to study there? Not on a bet. I decided to make a bgt script that made the thing do a soundtrack object of an entire song, of about 2:40 (not a simple song either). Then I made a ogg file of myself singing to it. This was made for a film project, where i play a disabled person who talks through his laptop, but I figured this would be useful for anyone. Have files named a.wav, b.wav, ETC. question about dragon naturally speaking hello,Does someone have knowledge of dragon naturally speaking? I just acquired it, along with j-dictate, and am trying to make it work. Its not letting me go through the setup. i chose my internal microphone, and i pressed start. but after the 3, 2, 1, go, i speak, then the start button appears. everyones telling me to use a headset mic, but i hate wearing headsets like that on my head. Can anyone help me make it work with my internal mic? Im also a laptop lugger who travels a lot, and I cant be carrying around a headset everywhere I go. Muds, audiogames,, text games, the bit.When I got to college last year, that seemed to taper off. I had a new life. But I knew I didnt want to close the chapter of my life.Now Im in my second year. I seem to have picked up gaming again. Not as much as when I was young (maybe half hour a day), but it gives me something to do. You just load up the .mp3, and have the .srt in the same folder. the .srt has time codes that help control when the subtitles play, and wade machine reads those. Its like a subtitle thing on any other movie player, the only difference is that it pipes the subtitles through the screen reader instead of putting them on the screen. but its totally automatic. just start the movie and enjoy. I can upload a test movie with a set of accompanying subtitles if youd like. You just load up the .mp3, and have the .srt in the same folder. the .srt has time codes that help control when the subtitles play, and wade machine reads those. Its like a subtitle thing on any other movie player, the only difference is that it pipes the subtitles through the screen reader instead of putting them on the screen. but its totally automatic. just start the movie and enjoy. So with this system all someoned have to do is make an srt file with audio description data rather than foreign language translations, and that is easily done (assuming you can see to describe a movie of course). They actually came to a convention where I was thats how I know about them but I only have some of their English movies and thats in a case half a world away so I cant get to it right now. Also, I remember that in Belgium a version of forest gump was made into French audio description but again not sure. let me know what you find. an idea i had in regards to audio description Hi,I had an idea that Iw was wondering what yall think.So we have audio description for a limitted number of movies, and the reason is that they are so expensive to produce. We have a program developped by our very own aprone, called wade machine. Its job is to read subtitles while a movie is playing, and I find it works quite well.Would you all watch films, if a .srt (subtitle) file was made with descriptions? You would use wade machine to play the descriptions and the movie at the same time. the only difference is that they would be read by the screen reader. any thoughts? Its been translated into 41 different languages.I was recently reflecting on the fact that so many of the videos on youtube have inaccessible text. I ran across this video that is a version of let it go with a bit from each of the 42 versions (including English). It has translations, but not ones we could read. With so many forumites from around the world, wouldnt it be really cool if we could build a translation? Lets see how non-contiguous this thing is in the end. Ill bet that if we can get every line translated, the lines wont fit together.
