Re: frustrated with blindness (read post if you want context)

I'm capable of reading Braille and use it just about every day. When I am at work, I just find it easier taking advantage of my Braille display rather than listening to my screenreader reading the text out loud to me. I have a slight hearing disability, so it's sometimes a bit harder for me to focus on my colleagues and my screenreader talking to me at the same time.As for Braille grade 2, I started learning the German version from the 3rd grade on and stopped at grade 6 and I learned English grade 2 in the 8th grade which was, in my opinion, a bit too late, given that we already used laptops at school at that time and nobody really seemed to be motivated enough to put a lot of effort in learning it and honestly, neither did I; actually I just put so much effort in it to pass the exam and therefore have to join another course for a retake.English Braille grade 2 is, after all, somewhat easier than the German version which comes with a couple of rules that even teachers (I talked to) themselves couldn't quite explain why it is done that way.In any case, I don't regret learning both of it because, as mentioned in previous posts already, it saves us some space and at least minimizes texts at least by a slight bit.

Re: frustrated with blindness (read post if you want context)

@83, the idea of a sort of mobility simulator sounds interesting, and I have been toying with similar ideas in the past as well. The problem though is that I never really got the hang of programming (except for the basics and a little more), and that I didn't know anybody who'd be willing to try coding it. But indeed, it would be an interesting piece of software to help getting the hang of different routes before you go outside and try it in the real world. So far, my mobility teachers brought tactile maps or built something like a map on a magnetic board themselves to help me getting the hang of different routes and the surrounding area which honestly only worked partially. Eventually, I think I learned more when I was actively walking the way myself.About using GPS and asking people or not, I think it really depends on how regularly I walk certain routes. If it is a route I need to take regularly, I usually get used to it either by myself or with some sighted help and/or mobility training after a few days maximum.Still, it is not 100% guaranteed that I might somehow get lost anyway, and in my opinion it is totally okay then to ask for help or consult GPS in order to get back on track without losing too much time I might not have.If it is a route that I only need to take rarely or even just once, I usually try to get as far as I can without help and ask or check my GPS if I got stuck. And hey, it's not that blind people are an exception, because sighted people also try orientating themselves until they don't know where to go next, and therefore also rely on either GPS or other people on the street in order to find their way.Talking about eating, I recently had a discussion with friends about how legit it is asking in a restaurant whether they could cut the meet into slices before the food is been brought to your table.I know a couple of blind friends who do it that way, and I honestly also do it sometimes (depending on the food and how full the plate is), because I sometimes struggle with cutting food, the fuller the plate is. It's not that I am not capable at all of cutting food. If the plate is moderately full, it's a piece of cake; but the fuller the plate, the bigger the chance is that food falls off the plate and sauce starts dripping; something that I mostly don't notice straight away. Another difficulty is that sometimes the knives are kinda blunt which brings up one more problem.Especially during an important meal from work, I would feel pretty embarrassed when that happens, so I'd rather ask in beforehand whether the food could be cut before delivery so there is one thing less to worry about. One of my blind former colleagues is a diplomat, and she said that a question like "Could you possibly cut it for me in beforehand, Sir or Madam?" is a totally legit question and saves you from embarrassment. What do you think about it? Or do you know another trick to cut the food safely and prevent it from falling off the plate, no matter how full the plate is?

Well, where do I start?Firstly, I totally agree that accessibility has indeed improved in comparison to where we were in the past decades, but it's still not optimal all the way.The problem that I am facing from time to time though is that, even if I try to get in touch with certain companies or organizations concerning their products and their accessibility, the only thing I get in a lot of cases is an Email saying something like "Thank you for your feedback, we keep it in mind and work on it" and yet nothing happened.I don't give up though, because on the other hand there are companies who stayed in touch with me and keep asking if there is anything they could possibly do to make their product more accessible. One example is a ride-sharing service operating in Hamburg. You can book a ride with an app and, after the booking process, you can check your status and when/where your car will pick you up. And here were a couple of problems to mention:Firstly, certain buttons and gestures in their app were inaccessible with either VoiceOver or Talkback.Secondly, you could only review information such as the pick-up spot on a map, which couldn't be announced by the screenreader.Third, there is no option for both, you and the driver, to get in touch in order to find each other in worst case. Fortunately they don't charge you if you have missed your ride, but especially on bigger and more crowded squares it is especially difficult to find your car as a blind person.Anyway, after pointing out the issues I had and how to possibly fix them, I only got the usual thank you Email and they went silent. About 3 months later, however, they invited me and other blind and visually impaired users into their headquarters for a co-creation day where we discussed the issues we had in detail and tested their app together with ann app developer. A few weeks later, they released an update to their app which squashed most of the accessibility issues we were pointing out. From time to time, there have been updates which screwed up the accessibility a little, but whenever somebody contacted them to point out the issue, they fixed it in one of their next updates. This is how it could work, and it would of course be most ideal if other companies would react the same way.One issue I still keep nagging about is the fact that you cannot get in touch with the driver or at least leave a note for the driver with some additional information about how he or she could recognize you and/or that you are blind. Most of the drivers keep telling me that, if they knew that I was blind, they would have looked out for me more closely; and as long as a feature like that is not introduced, I keep bringing it up, hoping to see it in some of their future updates someday.Concerning schools for the blind, I'm not sure if you were only referring to schools in the US or generally to schools all over the globe, but I have been a student of the BLISTA, an institute for the blind and visually impaired people in Germany offering different kinds of courses and school training. At least as highschool was concerned, it worked just fine for me, and most teachers put a lot of effort in making their material accessible. However, I did struggle with Maths a lot, but I had the feeling that it depended on the teacher whether he or she was able to explain things. Some teachers couldn't explain certain tasks and calculations to me, whereas other class-mates or teachers only needed about 2 minutes to make me understand the same topic the other teacher couldn't explain to me.So, in a nutshell, understanding what certain teachers tried to teach us was a bigger problem for me than accessibility in first place. However, as soon as I passed the 10th grade and started attending a different course, it turned out that, once graduated, it wouldn't help me at all because of too less qualifications for a propper job, so I cancelled before graduation and went for an IT sales training at the same institute.I graduated now and found a great, suitable job starting in January, but if I knew in beforehand how theoretical the traineeship actually was, I would have possibly chosen another company for my training to gain some more practical experiences I can work with when eventually job-seeking.But to wrap it up: Thanks to the BLISTA I became a lot more independent and self-confident than during my first few years of school where I rather relied on my friends who'd guide me around so I just needed to put the minimum effort in getting independent myself, and they got me much further than an ordinary school in my region could have got me at that time.Nevertheless, they should for sure improve some of their courses they are offering, such as the IT course so we don't end up frustrated because we graduated, but with insufficient qualifications or a lack of practical experiences that might come in handy for the job search, as a lot of

Trouble changing my SAPI voice on Windows 10

Hi folks,I have recently downloaded a few SAPI voices that I'd like to use in some of the applications that work with SAPI5 (I'm not talking about the OneCore voices). The problem I'm having with those voices is that, no matter what I do, my applications keep using the German voice Hedda.I'm aware of the fact that you cannot change the SAPI5 voices in the control panel anymore, so I ran c:\Windows\syswow64\speech\SpeechUX\sapi.cpland changed the voice from there. I double-checked the settings, they were definitely saved! Nonetheless, as soon as I start any of the games and other applications with SAPI5-support, I hear Hedda again, and when I check sapi.cpl, the settings have been indeed reset to default.Especially in games and software in English, it sounds super crappy, and it is frustrating that something always resets my settings to default whenever I start an application, regardless of any changes made in sapi.cpl.Google and all the resources I found that somehow mention the issue couldn't get me any further, so I was wondering if anybody of you guys know how to stop Windows or certain applications from hijacking sapi.cpl? Thanks in advance, and stay healthy!

Re: Traveling (abroad) and getting independent: let's share some experienc

I presume that if you'd like to travel into the mountains on your own, it might indeed be a little more of an effort. If they have Uber in your town, you could at least get from your placce to the place of your desire; but I haven't traveled 320km with Uber yet. I think it could well be more difficult to find a driver in any case, but it is worth a try, but I presume it is expensive though. However, a 6.5km Uber ride from the train or bus station would more likely work. If they don't have Uber in this kind of area, I'd try to consult a normal cab if it is not too expensive. In best case, you find some sighted people with whom you could possible travel with but of course this is not always the case.

Any clues on how to fix that?ThanksUPDATE: I found a plugin called "Clist_Blind", which works quite well... Is there an option to include the sounds somehow? In the version of Miranda NG I installed, apparently no sounds folder does exist in first place. I copied over the sounds from my old not-working miranda version, but when I try to select the sounds, it just says "path not defined". How can I define the path of the sounds properly?

In my opinion, they display a little too much. For a beginner, it might be a good idea to display a little more to actually get started, but if there's a way to change the way things are displayed by NVDA on the braille display, I would highly appreciate it.I considered updating my current JAWS license from 13 to the latest version, but before I start complaining about things old JAWS versions are not capable of, I first try it with NVDA, which usually works just fine. And "two guys in a garage"??? 2017-04-14 Thread AudioGames . net ForumOff-topic room : paddy via Audiogames-reflector

Re: Your Experience with Sleeping Patterns

Hey folks,I am struggling with screwed up sleeping patterns eversince Winter 2011, don't ask me how it came; hell, I don't know! I think it began when I went to bed as usual, but instead of sleeping between 6-8 hours, I woke up early in the morning between 2 and 3AM, unable to catch any more sleep. As consequens, I became terribly tired during the day and I couldn't keep myself awake anymore. In the evening, I am usually pretty awake again, but if I went to sleep anyway, I must admit that I didn't have any problems falling asleep real soon. Still, after 3 or 4 hours, I have the same troubles I already mentioned above and, therefore, on and on goes the cycle. The first two years I was fighting with it, nobody believed me that I had a sleeping problem. Instead, they thought I just stay awake too long in the evening and intentionally don't get enough sleep, which was, of course, not the case. The tiredness I experience is a different one than a normal tiredness. It's like a very harsh fatique you couldn't really get rid of. You desperately try to keep yourself awake, but at a certain point, you are defeated by the exhaustion. It feels like an anasthesia: From one moment to the other, you are back awake and you don't have any idea what went on in between. Normally, I only drift away for 5 up to 15 minutes, but it also happened once in a lesson that I fell asleep, and woke up three quarters of an hour later. Holy hell, you can't imagine how happy I was that nobody realised and nobody asked me anything during my nap!I am not proud of it, and I found out that I can resist a little longer during the day when I go to sleep later in the night (at 2 or 3AM, for example). Come on, I only sleep up to four hours anyway and I have to get up at 7, so I will at least be awake on time and don't have to struggle with getting back to sleep. Screw it, it doesn't work anyway! And if it works, it is usually one hour before I have to get up and if the alarm goes, I have extreme trouble getting out of bed.My teachers and classmates didn't take me serious, and so didn't my parents, which was quite depressing. The only one who believed me the whole time was my psychologist whom I consulted during that time. She also told me about this Melantonin, that is been automatically produced by our body when our eyes don't catch sun light or so. Since some of us are not able to catch any light, it is more likely that the production of melantonin is iregular and screwed up, causing this sleeping issue. In this case, the production of Melantonin can be steared by taking certain pills. But that's just one explanation... As we already heard above from other folks here, the issue is similar, but based on other criteria. At least, after three years struggling with my sleeping issue, everybody finally started to take me serious because they heard of issues similar to non-24. Although this doesn't really get me further, it is a good feeling that all the people finally stand behind me and understand my trouble I have.Back in 2015, there was a time where I had a few hearing losses. I took Betavistin to cure it, which worked just the way I wanted it to, luckily. But, as always, there was a stupid side-effect involved: It speeded up my blood pressure very quickly, and made me tired even quicker. Friends and classmates told me that I was very quiet during that time, and it was difficult having conversations with me, because I either reacted slower or It took multiple attempts to make me react on something.I also had to take Prednisone once, due to an infection I had, so I know the side-effects as well (this unhealthy look, for instance). Plus, whereas I have had no appetite during the infection, I had to make sure that I always had something to eat with me or nearby, otherwise I would have turned into a zombie, getting angry pretty quickly. I could also more likely motivate myself to do things, and I didn't fall asleep at school, which surprised my teachers for a little while. When I was finally done with taking prednisone, the unhealthy look went, and so came my sleeping problems again after a while. In short: it's a hell of a circle we are all in! A couple of months ago, I read in a blind-related newspaper about some faculties in Germany that began specialising in things like non-24, and they have extra blind-dedicated methods. I consulted the faculty in Münster and argued with my parents until my mother finally insisted. So we went there last week, and they gave me an actimeter, which looks like a watch that you can wear around your wrist. I have to wear it for two weeks, so that they can work with the results to diagnose what is wrong with me, eventually medicating it properly. At the moment, my sleeping pattern is pretty well. I get tired in the evening, sleep 6-8 hours and stay awake the whole day. But that's just one of the phases where everything is going well, so I am already expecting the next horror

You just start XAMPP, and you can run your Websites and scripts over localhost.I am currently trying to run a simple Webpage with a home page, a static page for example "About us" or "imprint", a page to post any upcoming News or Events (most preferrably using a preconfigured form to post any News/Events) and a contact page with a contact f
orm.So, in short, I only require some static Content and the Option to create my own forms that makes it easier editing my dynamic pages. What CMS would be therefore most recommendable? Thanks in advance!

Re: problem updating windows 7 home premium to ultimate

True that, but the inplace-upgrade for me also fixed more than the Problem I had when trying to upgrade Windows. Before the repair Installation, something was constantly eating up all my harddrive's space, no matter what I did to prevent it by for example deleting a lot of unnecessary Software and files. It did give me some space in first place again, but a couple of days or weeks later, the space was gone. After the inplace-upgrade, I was very surprised where the 40 free Gigabytes came from. And now, my Laptop is a bit faster, so I am more than Content with the result.

Re: problem updating windows 7 home premium to ultimate

Hello Figment,Thank you very much for your tip with the inplace-upgrade, which eventually did the trick! I was able to do a repair installation of my current Windows 7 home premium version with an ISO-image, and afterwards, the anytime upgrade worked. However, at the beginning, I didn't realise that I had Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop already. The windows anytime upgrade somehow got stuck when searching for updates, so I rebooted my machine. After that, the anytime upgrade option disappeared. It took me some time to realise what must have happened, WAU must have upgraded my computer when I rebooted, and I couldn't realise. Anyway, now that this is done, I am just more than happy! @Afrim, I must admit that I don't really like the idea starting completely from scratch again, as long as there is another workaround that doesn't require a comp
 lete harddrive wipe.

Re: problem updating windows 7 home premium to ultimate

Okay, after redownloading, it worked. However, I couldn't upgrade my windows version using an English installer. However, after we finally found a German installer, that one says I should use Windows Anytime Update, which, after fiddling around a bit for quite a while, still doesn't work!I however found the possible reason why it won't work: Probably ServicePack1 is not properly installed or cannot be installed, due to reasons I still don't really get.I tried several fixes with the command prompt, at last I tried installing a hotfix from Microsoft which was supposed to get rid of the issue.Still nothing. Windows Anytime Upgrade still gives me the error message after an hour, and upgrading with the windows7 ultimate ISO does not work, because they throw me out, asking me to use the anytime upgrade thingy. I am completely out of ideas. D
oes anybody here perhaps know a fix I don't know of? Or is there a way to make the upgrade with the DVD work? Thanks in advance.

Re: Looking for an accessible CMS

I actually first focused on getting the actual hang of Drupal, how to properly create sites and Content, before going further adding a language. Now the Problem I am still facing is that I finally managed to create Content, but it doesn't appear. I created a Basic page called "Events" first. There, I entered a Brief description what's going on on this page. Afterwards I created a new Content type called "Event". I addressed the Content to appear on my Events page, and afterwards added the fields. It was quite Handy and after I finished creating the Content type, I tried to test it. It did appear on the General Content page in the Administration Panel when I was logged in, but it didn't appear on the actual Events page, where the Content was supposed to be.Secondly, how can I create Content on my FrontPage, in other words, the "Home" section, where I welcome people and write some extra things? It would work with an article, but the
n it rather Looks like a blog post or something like this.

Problems with changing my windows 7 system language

2016-05-03 Thread AudioGames . net ForumOff-topic room : paddy via Audiogames-reflector

Problems with changing my windows 7 system language

Hello folks,Eversince I use it's your plane, which requires English speech recognition, I am changing my system language to English, using Vistalizator. However, everytime I didn't use it for a longer time, I switched backward to German. I have a Windows 7 home 64 bit machine, and I am aware that it usually doesn't work changing the system language, once set. Vistalizator makes it possible to install other language packs, changing the language from there. It worked just the way it should, but after a larger windows update if I tried to change my system language to English, my computer wasn't able to reboot to initialize the language pack. Instead, there was a bluescreen. When I powered off my laptop to restart it, it came up with the system recovery options. I tried the starting help to repair issues that may have occured, but it always came up with "Could not repair this computer". I brought it to our electronic lab at our school, and after a c
ouple of days they fixed the issue by pressing f8 on startup to get into the advanced booting options, selecting "boot from last known working configuration" or something like that, and my computer was able to boot again.Another work-around for me to change my display language was going into the registry editor, deleting the German RegKey, so only the English key was there. Of course I exported both keys, because it was the other way around as well when I switched back to German. Nevertheless, once the key was been deleted, you could restart your computer as always and it came up with English as the system language. But even that didn't work anymore, I got the same issue as with Vistalizator. Are there any suggestions on that? Or did anybody else already experience that issue as well?

Greetings!Yes, it is possible to run Kodi Screenreader on the Pi if you install ESpeak first, but then you may need some sighted help to get the Kodi Screenreader addon downloaded from the Kodi repository, eventually activating it. But that's the only accessibility issue I heard from the Podcast, because installing ESpeak can be done via SSH through your Computer, but you use the Pi itself with Kodi running on it to do the rest.

Hi Blademan,Thanks a lot for this list of things we could do with the Pi. I am currently also listening to a Podcast where a visually impaired Person, not really familiar with the Pi, sets up Kodi, using the XBIAN Distribution. He however did warn blind People that they Need sighted help, in order to get Kodi Screenreader installed together with ESpeak. This media Center might even help me connecting to my Receiver, accessing a few of ist settings. The guy I mentioned before had his dreambox connected with Kodi, so he could watch TV and do other interesting stuff.I am wondering if it is possible to use the Pi for things like the Server you mentioned, while having the Kodi Distribution running on it. At least it should be possible, from what I heard, to download the required things from the web, Repos or whereever else. While attending the ICC in Zeist, the Netherlands last year, there also was a Raspberry Pi Workshop where I was able to take part at, and we d

Re: What Are Your Favorite Lighters

When I was Smoking for a short time, I first used a small lighter with a Kind of pipe at the end where the flame came out. Nice for lighting cigarettes or things further away from you, because you could adjust the flame. You pressed a button to activate the flame. Then I bought an adjustable storm lighter which didn't work. You could push the lighter to open and let out the gas, but there was no flame.I left it alone when I showed the lighter to a clooeague. I wasn't sure wether this Thing would go off when I absolutely don't expect it. I was supposed to Show him the huge ammount of smelling gas coming out, so I carefully opened the lighter and a very unexpected flame burst came out of it. I nearly burned my Hand and my colleagues face felt very warm, although he was sitting a few meters away from me.Since then I preferred a BIC lighter, because the firestone method was more reliable to me.

But for sorting favourites, listening to radio streams, podcasts, etc. it was just fine! And I didn't yet found another suitable software which is as confortable to handle as the Klango player, so in case of Klango is "back to life" - in question - I would still continue using Klango for my media needs.I think Klango had it's golden years in 2009 until 2011, especially after the release of Klango 3, which brought a lot of awesome features with it.But in late 2011, the first thing what broke down was the Youtube support, other features followed.

Re: Any good tutorials for Reaper and ReaAccess out there?

I'd like to use it for Podcast purposes, as well as Musical stuff, should I find any samples of instruments, especially drums, and perhaps a few nice VSTs I can use. Any help would be apreciated here as well. But as podcasting is concerned, I would like to record me over a Piece of Music, so the Music turns down a bit when I speak and raises the volume if I stop talking for a couple of seconds. I heard you have to set certain parameters for that, but not sure really.

Hi,I am planning to update my win7 laptop to Windows10, but I am not sure if Jaws13 would work as smooth as with Windows7, because originally they officially don't support Windows10 with jaws13 yet.I know, Jaws13 is kinda oldfashioned, but I used all my available updates and don't actually feel like spending 500--€ for a new package of updates at this time, because Jaws13 actually fulfilled my needs so far.

Re: What language is easy and what is difficult?

Well, I think in some cases, the Dutch pronounciation is kind of close to the English one, because the Dutch language also has the rolled r you would use in English. But as far as I found out, Dutch people only roll the r if it is located at the end of a word, elkaar, for instance. But there are some words, like hartelijk, where the r is been rolled as well. But I cant really tell when you have to roll the r and when you dont.I find Dutch pretty easy to learn, although I am learning on an English-based platform, because if you put German and English together, there are a lot of simmilarities, especially in German.Lets take the word for to drink: In German you say trinken, in Dutch you say drinken. An English example would be self (zelf in Dutch).I personally like Dutch and I learn it because for me, the language sounds echt moei, vriendelijk en gezellig, really nice, friendly and gregarious or to again show the simmilarity to German, echt schön, freundlich und gesellig. I also have some Dutch speaking friends, which has a kind of interesting influence on me, because by listening to their Dutch conversations, especially if they speak slow and clear, I learned how to express myself and a bit how the grammar works. So, thanks for that actually! For now, learning Dutch currently is a free-time-project, but I might try to attend a course or something in the future, shouldnt I already learned a lot of things on Taalthuis.

Re: What language is easy and what is difficult?

Hello there,I stumbled upon this thread earlier, but didnt have the time to answer. So Im bringing this up again out of the depth.I have to agree that German is a kind of more difficult language. But currently I am in a Latin course for a couple of years now, and I must say that its more difficult, especially because of the ending-letters of a word. Because the ending of the word declares the tence, singular/plural, the person, etc.In my opinion, Nederlands is echt makkelijk to leeren voor mij (Dutch is really easy to learn for me).If you want to see what learning Dutch is like, you might check out http://www.taalthuis.com and find out yourself how difficult or easy it is for you. Many Dutch people also speak English and German pretty good, which is quite impressive! And many eastern-Europeans I met could express themselves in German pretty good, especially those from Czeck Republic, Slovakia an
 d Poland.

Hey all,Thanks for the information about Zhengdu, just downloaded yesterday. Now I know why Zhengdu doesnt really saves any settings Ive done, I didnt run it as an Admin. Regarding the zip-file, try to rename the password protected zip-file into zd, this should work the way you want it to.Because of whatever reason, at least Internet Explorer renames unknown files, for example .nvda, .ipsx, etc. into .zip-files. Dont try to mess around with its content, just rename the file from .zip into .zd and youre okay.Cheers!

What a great app, I tried it several times already! However, it hasnt begun as expected...When I used the app for the first time, I had a guy, probably British but that doesnt play a role for me, who was complaining that he couldnt see me. In the background, I heard some people laughing. All right, I turned around my phone and then told him about an iTunes card I had on my table. I was just testing this app, and the card, as far as I knew at this time, had already been used. So I just wanted him to read the code, he was instructing me how to hold my camera, then he said something like Yeah, now I can see it, and disconnected. Not quite sure whether it was my internet connection which interrupted for a short time, but when I then tried to call another volunteer, I was waiting a few minutes and nothing happened.A few days lat
er, I gave it a nother try, which worked just as expected. The guy could tell me that it was an iTunes card which has been already used. Then, I showed him a closed package and he corrected me several times to hold the camera right. He first was assuming that the package provides a firewire cable, but after putting my hand a bit to the left, he could recognize that it was a micro USB cable. This app is just awesome, and I would love to see this service growing! I would also apreciate multiple languages. I selected German and English as my languages and so far, I only got English speaking volunteers. I can imagine that, since the service is still growing, there are more English people than for example German people, so I hope thisll change soon.

Interesting app, will definitely try to grab it, sooner or later.Since that video call is only working with a stable internet connection, it is ABSoLUTELY NOT! recommendable to try crossing the street with it! As mentioned before, use your cane, your ears and your OM abilities you should have. And who knows how quick the video transfer is, usually, it sometimes takes at least one second to transfer the video from one side to the other. And this fact is very important then. Be aware you are trying to cross a street with help of a person who just see what you show them. Its nobody walking next to you, who would more focus on the environment, which you probably cant really show them.

Hi, I dont really exprienced these kinds of symptoms, however I think a few years ago, I also experienced those weird dreams in which you fall down rapidly, wake up, feeling a strange feeling in my stummack, also having a high note in my ear.I do still have a kind of Tinnitus, depending on how stressed I am, its sometimes so loud that I cant stand it anymore!I mostly hear a very quiet tone, sometimes higher, sometimes deeper, and nobody could tell me why this could be.It has been discovered that I have an inner-ear hearing disability and recently got earpieces. The Tinnitus, thats what the doctors said, can also cause a disorder in your body, so its also considered to be a kind of alarm. The inner-ear disability really sucks, nobody can fix inner-ear issues yet and they fortunately cant be caused by you. It may be caused due to a genetic disorder, or in case of a heavy middle-ear ignition.I am not scared anymore
of wearing those earpieces, the tinnitus also fades a bit because of that, I am actually more scared of the fact that it even could get worse.

I didnt activated or deactivated anything in the software, it just didnt work anymore from one day to the other. Are there any clues for this issue? Did I miss anything? Please, I am out of ideas and get fed up with it!Regarding Simbas post:You might check amazon. If they really show two items, its obvious to me that somethings rotten in Denmark! Seriously, I think the person whom you asked for advise is trustworthy enough, and I am pretty sure if Amazon really shows two items, those items are obviously not the same model. In the first part, they are different regarding the price, I think. The cheapest is the one which sucks, the more expensive ones the cool one! However, I would not rely on that.

Re: Discrimination at a County Fair

Hi folks,I have had a simmilar problem either in an amusement park (Heidepark, Soltau, Germany). When I entered the Collossos, which is the biggest wooden roller-coaster in the entire world, we, my sister and I, were sitting in there, and when an operator noticed I am blind, he and a colleegue of him tried arguing why I shouldnt be on board this ride, due to my disability and the fact that my sister was under 18 and therefore not allowed to assist me in case of, thats what the two guys said, the ride gets stuck at a height of around 60 meters.I, however, didnt give up so easily and said: My friend, if the ride would get stuck at a height of 60 meters, I would be the only one climbing down the ladder and therefore follow the instructions given to us by you, only in case of an emergency! After my explanation, he didnt find any cons and allowed us to stay on board. At the end, there was nothing harmful, they were only kin
d of scared because a nearby roller-coaster got stuck. I can understand that, but keeping in mind that a blind person would more likely be able to perform the instructions, the only problem is that not every blind person would eventually do so at the end, but at least most of them, because they do not have the ability to look downwards and therefore arent scared because of the height.Regarding their online support, I am only allowed to use selected rides, but when visiting the actual park they dont seem to know rules like these. However, in some of Northrein-Westphalias amusement parks, they dont let you board anything, even if you have an assisting sighted person with you. And that is definitely discrimination! Its okay for me to board rides with an assisting person who is sighted, that is not the problem! But refusing boarding anything no matter how many sighted people are with you, who gladly would assist you is just discrimination, a
nd I would not visit such amusement parks in the first part!Regarding your matter, I recommend seeking for friends of yours who also love going on rides, boarding the ride with a second person shouldnt be the problem is first place.

Hmm, I found too much reasons not updating my iPhone 4s to the latest iOS-version. Since I already screwed up my 3gs in a pool, I rather not consider upgrading. I also crashed my 3gs while installing the wrong jailbreak tweak. I had to eraise my iPhone completely using the recovery mode and had to recover my data using the iTunes backup. Since all that happened, I do not want to risk screwing up any device of mine. I have an iPhone case with some small pockets in them, so I can place my bumpers in there, so YAY!

Re: pc hotspot tools

Well, the only software I know is Connectify Hotspot, but this is a paid software and its only a demo version. Its pretty plausible: You have a wifi internet connection, but in some cases, you can only connect to the wifi if you have the required rights, for example if your mac-adress is been added to the router. If thats not the case and if you dont have the required rights to add a mac-adress, you may try the alternative: using your computer/laptop as a hotspot, create your own one (I currently use the demo of Connectify) and hell yeah, you can connect as many devices as you want! This method is also possible with creating an adhoc-network, but this doesnt really work for me.

Re: Searching for a portable binaural recording system

I decided to get an Olympus LS-14, which is currently been shipped.About the core-sound-system: My father suggested another solution; Building a binaural sound system ourselves. The only thing you need to build it up is a cheap pair of headsets and two small, high quality mics which are priced at about 35 cents. You now open the headsets and replace the speakers and all that stuff in there with those mics, after drilling a small hole into the headsets where the mics fit in. This purpose is actually for in-ear-recordings, however you can also clip the headsets somewhere, after optionally placing a clip near the headset. This is a rather cheap solution and you should be experienced with all that electrical stuff, but it is worth the outcome, at least you can try this method before buying a professional but expensive sound system.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=178883#p178883

Yup, even native speakers make spelling or grammar mistakes! And I actually not prefer the kind of accent the queen may use. URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=177906#p177906

Good point. So lets join this and that and hope for something to happen. No seriously, you shouldnt either react to fast sometimes if you think you are atracted to someone.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=177908#p177908

Any radio streams which comment every football match of this year's wo

Hello,Im searching for a radio stream which comments every football match of this years world cup.I tried many, but they just speak about the current match, theres no actual commentary.I tried BBC radio 5 live, but unfortunately they are, due to rights restrictions, not able to bring this sports commentary on this platform in my location. They dont seem to like the Germans or other countries whod like to listen to their stream. So do you know any other good radio streams for sports commentaries, which also comment all the matches? Thanks.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=177747#p177747

Re: Any radio streams which comment every football match of the world cup?

Thanks so far, but the webpage of sbs does not get me further, it seems to be some kind of inaccessible to me.I tried tunein radio, but I cannot get a live stream. When searching for sbs, I chose sbs radio2 or 4, and it threw me in a list of available languages. When clicking on German, for example, it only shows me episodes. How do I get that live-stream?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=11#p11

Re: Any radio streams which comment every football match of the world cup?

This time, it worked. Thanks very much! I however didnt get a clue on how to maybe get this German channel to work, but I dont particularly care about it. Would be interesting anyway to find that out.Actually, we have a German commentary on the SAP channel B, but they refuse to fully comment any other matches but Germanys. Stupid, but if you really wanna follow any other matches, you will find other ways. I have to try out that SBS thing with some radio apps, or even web radios, if possible.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=177783#p177783

Re: can we use here other languages?

Yeah multiple languages would mess everything up here. Also, the whole audiogames.net page has to be translated into this language, not only the forum, and this would take a large ammount of time plus you need to trust those admins who administrate this area a lot.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=177811#p177811

However, a few years ago my English was understandable, but nowerdays, when I look at how I spoke and wrote in the past, I think it was quite worth it getting more experienced. When I was 13, I have had a kind of lousy and sometimes heavy German accent I personally didnt like very much. I now sound pretty much American, but sometimes when Im a bit tired, a small accent can be heard. This also
happens even if I am fully awaken, but I wouldnt say I dont like that. Anyway, my suggestion to you is continue writing, as well as speaking English a little, everything else comes from alone.Okay, I guess the last sentence didnt actually sound like native English, but I think you know what I wanted to tell you, dont you? Re: Any radio streams which comment every football match of the world cup?

Well, 2-2 Germany vs. Garna, thats a score I can live with. We turned on SAP on our TV, at least they provide audio description for German matches. Tunein radio on the iPhone actually didnt work out the way I expected, but tunein.com on the computer worked as it should.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=177813#p177813

Re: Girls at school harder 2 get than ones Outside of School?

There is a stereo type: Men allways think with their penis. This means, in general, that many of those guys just want the only thing, they might not be interested in hanging around, chatting, etc. Its just the way this woman looks like, and if she looks quite atractive, those guys goal is definitely not just chatting and all that. As you might know of films, sitcoms and so on, they want to get the woman into their bed, thats what the saying means.I would not, however, try to ruin any relationships, especially if I know the guy who is currently dating her in person. This will also ruin friendship, but if you are not afraid of the consequences and want to deal with them, fine then, give it a shot. However meeting girls in high-school or college may not work out as expected. As already mentioned, trying to hang around somewhere outside of school where you could meet people will definitely be the best way. Im not sure whether i
nviting a girl for a coffee in college or at work leads to success, cuz you are bound to your classes, schedule, etc.About the disability: I know several sighted people, including girls, who dont care of my blindness and deal with it. However these are currently friends, and I am not in a relationship with any of them yet, at least I think so. Also, I know a few blind guys who are in a successful relation with a sighted girl. Also, when going to school, I am a bit further away from home, where I would personally know the most sighted girls. I only go home at the weekend, mostly two times a month, so I think waiting for now, and seeing what comes out of it will be the best option for me. I am solo, so what? It will happen when I dont expect it.

br />And, most important, a relationship may take a lot of time you may have spent learning for exams, etc. Many people can deal with it, however I dont think having a relationship right now will lead to success, depending on where I am.I might have to call my girlfriend if she lives further away from Marburg, where I am currently going to school, so she can check whether I am okay or not, which is definitely not bad at all.On the other hand, if she would live near my place, we might hang around and we want different things from eachother. Okay, I might just go a bit over the top, but lets see how things develop.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=177624#p177624
