Re: movie vault mirror ok first I will answer flackers,I created a blind mice account a few months back, it worked for about a month, then they decided to block me from logging in so they cut me off for no reason.now to Orko,the reason I wanted you to be crystal clear in what you were saying is that, I wanted to be sure you were either accusing st-mc or me for actually using the links, thus catogorising us as thieves.I don't know if this is true but I was told by a number of blind americans that blind mice only offers the service to American citizens. again I am basing this on hearsay and the fact I have been blocked from using the vault.now for the morality part of it, the way I see itt is people like st-mc are providing access to people that have been cut off from the vault like myself for no good reason what so ever. Re: A shocking and depressing news! hi TJ,my comments regarding people who were blind from birth was based on the people I know as friends, so although its quite a few people I guess I am still generalising.but everyone of them agrees with me in the sense that it must be much more traumatic trying to adjust to a completely different world, 1 of my friends lives in Germany and regulary travels the world litrally on his own which I find truly amazing.I on the other hand am petrified when I go out alone, up to a point where I developed a kind of irritable bowel syndrome, where I have soiled myself due to stress in getting lost and needed the toilet so bad.so like I said previously, all the blind people I know from birth or went blind at a very early age certainly seem to manage far better in general terms. Re: How do developers decide the prices of products? for me it makes no difference how much they charge, my priority is the quality of the game.I will just give you an IOS example.I rarely buy a game unless there is a trial version I can try or I have researched it thoroughly.King of dragon pass for example was £10 with no trial to see if it was a game I would be interested in, so I proceeded to investigate the reviews and was eventually swayed to take the plunge.now I must confess, if there was a trial version of kodp I most certainly would never have bought it, however because I handed over the equivalent of a nice bottle of wine I made myself play it and over time grow to love it.the plus side to trial games are expertly described in the whole of the blindfold series, the 10 coin gift you get at the start is superb, as by coin 2 I have realised its not for me then delete the ap, but for completely the opposite reason I never liked kodp.kodp was the fact I could not understand it that well, the blindfold series was how simplistic everything is and there was as much depth to the games as a shallow puddle. Re: A shocking and depressing news! hi Caccio,It seems like you and I have a lot in common, not only in the taste of audio games but our age and we both started life with sight.I have got RP and at this moment I can only determine light and dark.people who have been blind from birth in my experience don't suffer as much with the psychological effects, like in my case manic depression.Also I have found people who are born blind have much more fulfilled lives, what I mean by this is, they are much more independent, have full time jobs etc.I am now 44 years old and cannot even make it to the local shops on my own even though its only 100 yards away, I can't have mobility training at the moment because my anxiety levels will not permit it..people who I talk to smile when I refer back to my sighted life like I have been born twice, but it seems likre its 2 different life spans.I was 32 by the time I needed a screen reader, and the sight lo ss was gradual, on the plus side I nanaged to see my 2 sons being born and could drive and managed to see a bit of the world, but in some respects I wish I was just born blind because I would have been a much happier person and may not have contracted mental illness.please try not to dwell on it to much mate or you could end up with far more problems than just blindness, I always used to think why me but there are far more worse people of than us, that's the only crumb of hope I can give you to cling onto. dilema, IOS or Android? ok guys,I am posting this thread due to some posts I read in the black box thread in new releases.firstly I want to say I own an android device and an ios device so there is no bias to my opinion. and second I will tell you by the way I have both devices, I had a iPhone 5 just like Dark has and I wanted to upgrade, the price of the iPhone 7 really put me off, I am also recently married, so trying to justify paying £700 for it was difficult.so I started to research android devices, and I loved the look and spec of the Motorola g4, and it was on offer for just £100, so I thought [[wow]]! 600 pounds cheaper,after buying it and getting familiar with it, I quickly realised none of the games I loved playing were not compatible, also I realised how god dam much I used siri, lolo, by the way the main reason for wanting a new phone was storage, 16gb was just simply not enough.so after a week of playing with I had another nasty shock, my favourite app of all time was not compatible. voice dream reader. so I had to go on hands and knees and beg the wife for an iPhone again. the bill is now £800, rofl so I proceed to open my new shiney iPhone 7 with a beautiful 128gb storage capacity. after setting everything up, I said, now lets get back all the apps I paid for and had to remove only due to lack of storage.wait a sec? wheres, the night jar?um, and audio defence?now I can't find papa's angerafter someone told me apple decided to boot them from the app store did I fully understand the situation.so, I proceeded to get other apps I liked sixth sense, not compatible anymorewheres my rubber duckie, not compatible anymoreand there was a few others that I have forgotton.and now I read that people with iphones 5 and below are going to be screwed due to 64bit compatibility.I am just so pissed off lately, using all my savings just to have a bit of fun in life and it feels like apple are just kicking me when I am down. help with an NVDA question please hi everyone. please can you help me. when browsing the net, in particular this website, I navigate the different posts and topics etc and it keeps saying, strong and emphasis all the time on each post. its so irritating, I have looked in all the settings but don't no what to turn off to stop it.it never does this when I use jaws, but I really want to switch to NVDA if I can iron out these issues. Apple Air Pod alternatives? Hi all,Can anyone give me any air pod alternatives? what I mean by alternatives is same style or like a clone, the reason I ask is because I hate the in ear style ear bud versions.I bought the apple air pods only to send them back because I honestly felt they were 100 pounds over priced for what they were, but if I can pick up a similar set for 60 to 80 pounds I would be able to swallow it.thanks in advance for any suggestions. removing an installed sapi voice?
removing an installed sapi voice? please can someone help?,I installed a couple of sapi voices on my windows 7 64bit machine and they don't work for what ever reason, does anyone know how to remove them? they are causing problems when I try to play any of jim kitchens games, making them crash etc,thanks in advance if you can help. sapi voices for windows 7 64bit? sorry guys to bring this subject up again but I really feel the need to find out if there any other free alternatibes to Microsoft Anna, if the only route is paying then fair enough,however I would prefer to get a free 1 to try first.that sapi voice is actually spoiling the experience of playing the games that require that voice engine which distorts whether the game is any good or not,I got an eloquence sapi voice from here a few weeks back from someone but sadly it crashes games which is really frustrating as it was perfect.can anyone post any links to any other free voices I can use? I hear espeak has a sapi voice but the one I downloaded never had an installer in the folder and I had no clue how to get it to work,I am willing to try anything as Microsoft Anna is so hard to understand its awful.
