Starting from grade 7 in school, we got our own laptop and braille display that we used till we were finished with school. I use a braille display here and there, but my main method of consuming is listening to my screen Reader. For me, a braille display comes in handy if you have to look at source code or do mathematical operations, I personally have a better picture of what I am doing if i have a braille display in front of me.But mostly, I use the Screen Reader, braille displays are to bulky to cary around and for most modern machines, you would need to place them on a higher surface to aline them with the braille display. If not, at least my hand has to be bend quite a lot which gets really uncomfortable when working with it for a long time, especially with my MacBook Air, and the pro later on.I sometimes write a few sentences in braille so to not lose the basics, but I haven't needed that in years by now. I don't use Braile screen input on my iPhone because I am three times as fast with direct touch typing, not the normal touch typing mode, but the direct input one so where you just tap the letter and not hold it and lift your finger.I still remember some parts of German braille grade 2, but ddefinitly not every part of it. I couldn't use it correctly anymore because just like normal grade 1 braille, I haven't used it and I don't see me using it in the future, I don't know why i would use it anyway.Greetings Moritz. While I can use services like google or Apple Maps to see what's around me, I don't really have an idea where different parts of the city are in relation to each other, including smaller cities and villages nearby.What I am looking for is an app or program for either iOs, Windows or Mac where I can look up or enter the post code of a city and can check the sorounding aria, to check on different parts of the city, villages nearby, roads and so on. This doesn't count for the standard models though, so for the iPhone 11 and 12, simply because the 11 had a normal LCD screen while the 12 sports an OLED screen.I don't really miss the charger or EarPods, the later one I didn't even use, and most of us have a number of chargers and lightning cables around anyway, either normal USB A or USB C equipment. There are 2 configurations, one runs with the older 8 gen i5 and i7 processors, the beefier one runs with the the new 10 Gen chips if I remember right.The 16 inch one is from last year and while it's more expensive, the basic configuration is a lot better compared to the other MacBooks around, and if you search, you can get it for cheaper.At OP if I were you, I would look at the MBP 13 inch 2020.Greetings Moritz. Re: need advice on getting a new computer Good morning.If you decide to go the Mac side in combination with Windows, I would shell out the extra money and get a MacBook Pro instead of the Air.You see, I currently have a MBA for testing and if you do more intense things with it, you really notice that it's just a machine for light work such as surfing, word processing and what not.Also, if you say that the machine should have decent performance, do keep in mind that if the computer has to be light weight and portable, you will always have compromises.The 2020 MBA has an i7 configuration for example, but when you run it through benchmarks, it can't even use all the power the i7 has to offer and the machine starts throttling immediately.The MacBook Pro, or MBP is also as portable as the MBA, maybe half a centimeter thicker than the MBA, but has more processor cores and the cooling unit is generally positioned better, so you can actually use the performance the machine has to offer.If you want to dual boot, get a large enough SSD, or put Windows on an external SSD if that is possible.I haven't checked the surface pro, but again, if you need more performance, try looking at the surface book. The most recent one is the Surface Book 3, but reading reviews, the version 2 is still as performant as ever and the new one doesn't really hold any advantages, so you can get the v2 for cheaper.Hope I could help a bit.Greetings moritz. From what I observed hanging around blindness rlated groups on FB and other platforms, I was quite astonished to see that so few people actually go out or know how to get around using public transportation, something i learned doing while I was still a child.Independence for me was always something I wanted to achieve and this ment how to use public systems like bus, train and airtravel, something that in my opinion is vitally important for a blind person. We don't always have someone to bring us to where ever we want to go, so, although it might sound arogant, I'm under the impression that every blind person "has" to learn how to get around on his own.The partly lockdown in Germany did hit me quite hard. we were working from home for about 3 months and if you can't get out of your own flat for the better of that time, it really drove me up the wall about halfway in.Thing is, the horses that I look after from time to time, the stables also locked down, only allowing the horses owners on the property. You know, if you are generally at that place about 4 days a week and suddenly that part of the stuff you look forward to breaks away from one day to the other, well, at least for me that was a quite difficult time.I didn't really mind that I couldn't go out in the evenings, but that one little thing was dang huge for me personally, because I couldn't even get my mind off of work that way either.so yeah, most blind people don't really go out, but for those like me who do, this is quite trubbling.Greetings Moritz. Officials assume there were around 15000 to 2 people visiting the demonstrations, the organisers themselves spoke of 1 to 2 million participants and tried proving their point with faked pictures from Fridays for future and other demonstrations.The main antagonist (If you can call him that), is a man by the name of Atila Hildmann.He basically is a vegan cook who one some awards and since the hole outbreak started, he is showing his political site, with the usual gems there.Germany is cooperating with Bill Gates, this hole thing isn't real and the government is just trying to establish a police state and other crude bullshit that only people believe which have their own hat so far up their own ass, they can again eat their breakfast from 2 days ago.So yeah, that much from a german perspective. Back in 2017 I bought myself the amazon echo and used it pritty much every day. i sold it last year though.I'm not the person who wants to talk to his devices and doesn't need the latest in AI answers as human department. When they went bust or were close to, they were required by Baum Retek which then produced Wirgo, which was around till mid 2000s. This thing then turned into Cobra till Baum went bust some years ago.All manufacturing rights, copyright, repairing of products and what not got transfered over to Visio Braille who now support almost all the Baum products that are around. Cobra though is not among those things, I do wonder what happened to it's sourcecode, wouldn't wonder if Vispero possibly bought it and now it's put somewhere where noone will find it again.Some people use Cobra up to this day, but as you can imagine, it's not working great together with Windows 10.Greetings Moritz. Re: Monthly Chat - May, 2020 Hi.Shit people, seriously. there you have basically two months where nothing of interest starts happening, and suddenly stress levels instantly get ramped up into afterburner state.Basically the following happened.On Thursday, so three days ago a new horse together with it's owner moved into the stable I'm at most of my free time.Not even a day later, the horse lays dead on the meddow, there are burn marks on his head, skinn is missing from parts of the boddy and one leg is broken. We initially thought the horse might have been spooked in the night by something, paniked, got tangled in the fence and pulled free, this would explain the burn marks, ran, fell over and died due to a stress Colik.Well, the problem is, it turns out that there were people beeing spotted at the meadow right around the time the vet said the horse might have died, and if other reports we have received should proove themselves true, we have a friggin crime story on our hands.Because this involves the previous owners of the horse which lost it due to the local vet office taking the horse away and apparently they wanted to get the horse back and well, what happened is written above. This isn't prooven yet but highly likely.What will happen is that we all have to go to the police next week, do our reports, tell them what we have and show them the screenshots of conversations we had and well, see what happens afterwards.so yeah, that's what happened here the last three days.Greetings Moritz. Re: help with macOS VM (don't share) Hi.Are you sure you installed everything correctly?What you need to do with the unlocker is admin CMD into the directory witch should be on the same drive as your VM and access the file win-install.cmdTo check if this worked go create a new VM, click install os later and see in the list if you have mac OS in there.Regarding the harddrive, keep in mind that when you open the Mac vm you need to remove the harddrive first and then ad the harddrive file that comes with the VM.At least for me it worked then.At 2, I don't see a reason that op might get a warning. This is not piracy, noone shared the VM, at least till now, and he's just asking.
