Oral surgery sucks. My sympathies.To be fair, I think people's tolerances re: number of manamon and moves and such are different. I have no trouble keeping track of Pokémon, which is mainstream and far, far more complicated in this regard than manamon has ever dreamt of being yet. Yes, I'd like to see better moves and designs and even names in some places (Dageetle gets right up my nose, seriously)...but I don't think that improvements there should mean a sacrifice in other areas. Put bluntly, if I can design something like 140-ish manamon in a four-hour plane flight, and could probably balance their stats, moves, abilities and the like in the space of, say, two weeks of solid development, shortcomings on that front shouldn't really be excused by all the moves and manamon introduced with this game.

If you had an actual account on my cloud server and I shared the folder with you, then it would auto sync. Since you're just downloading files, there's no way auto sync is possible as there's no software at your end querying the server for new parts.Sorry for no new parts in the past week or so. I was starting to venture back out into the world (just to a cafe's outdoor patio) which was starting to ease isolation related depression. Then I got thrown back into total isolation due to upcoming oral surgery, so I'm experiencing a total lack of motivation.I'll be back to it shortly. If not feel free to nag at me after a while.

I personally think there are too many manamon in part 2. I think there should be fewer creatures and better designs, aka more evenly balanced moves and typing. It is so hard to keep track of who transforms into what unless you have a complete breakdown, which is available for manamon 1, and that had only 158, and the transformations were much more straight forward.

The main reason it usually takes me several days to play games like this is because I want to learn new things, make new deiscoveries, maybe even see what new moves Manamon 1 creatures get. The arcade madness that is the Eternity Studio or Shadow Kingdom isn't something I enjoy. Exploring, battling and story are what I enjoy.

I agree. Mastering all the Manamons and all their spells can be difficult and time consuming in my opinion. I also don't remember what team a certain tamer has, so I just run to them blindly lol. Fortunately in Manamon 1, we have Jayde's guide as a reference, so it shouldn't be a problem.

@Socheat thanks, and your assessment is true.Thing is, Paladin (or some variant thereof) has existed for nearly six years now. Unique story which I've eluted to aside, it was the only audio game I was playing until 2016 when Manamon came out. Coupled with the simplistic mechanics as compared to Manamon and you have a recipe for mastery.I don't have the time nor patience nor desire to master the ins and outs of every creature, and I feel that's a good thing as in the long run it would detract from the experience. I can still spend 30 hours on a Manamon II run and experience unexpected challenges and situations due to lack of knowledge, and that's more fun than being able to outclass people in competitive play or instinctively remember every tamer's team and be prepared with exactly the right creature and move for every situation.I love speed runs and demonstrations of mastery, but mastering a game on that level ruins casual enjoyment in the long run, and there aren't enough games in our little bubble for me to justify doing that.

I've tried it with two users with the same registration information, but different registration information? I'll have to try that. Two users with the same name and key doesn't work, though. Maybe I'll try buying another copy, but that means spending 50 more dollars. But if it does work, that also means I'll never have to ask for another trade again. My current team isn't that bad, Vipesla just got a move called Hyper Magnet, which hits electric types super affective, and it's attacking stats really aren't that bad. Kangard got all 3 elemental punches, I'm keeping Ice Punch and Blaze Punch. I don't need Spark Punch, Bulpine with Berserk Branch and Vipesla can hit water types. Sirenea is doing good as I expected, so is Elephrost. Humbabang, seems to be getting both physical and special moves, so I've been training both attacking stats and speed, which help with damage.

While we're kind of on the subject of self trading, maybe you could answer this. If I bought a second license for manamon 2, and had them running on two different accounts on the same computer, could I switch back and forth between them to do trades, or would it drop connection? Let's pretend for a moment this wouldn't be a silly purchase. Let's also pretend this wouldn't be a rather extraordinary length to go to just to be able to trade with self. @Computergamer:In Manamon II, select online trading or online battles. Then select host room and type the name of the room you want to create. Press enter. Now, leave the game opened and give your room name to whomever you want to play with (over Skype/ Discord/ this forum etc). When they join it will say "John has joined" for example.Alternatively, if someone else has given you their room name, pick join room and type the name of the room you've been given.As for Stella, if you're getting to three beeps then you're more than halfway there. They get more and more powerful as you go, so even though it says she has 50 percent health remaining doesn't mean you're half way through in terms of rounds.

Hi! I am getting closer and closer to beating Stella. I have noticed that it is easier for me when I have the left alt button set as my dragon  strike scroll command. I can get to the part where I have to hit Three prompts and then i get killed. The closest I have gotten is to get her Health down to 50%. Also; i solved the issue I had with my tts. It turned out I had to set the preferences, save my game and then Close the game and load it again. My settings were then saved successfully. About Manamon 2, I can't understand the online feature. I have tried to create a room to either do trade or battle, but don't understand how to do it. Nothing happens when I create aroom. In the first game, I have trouble trying to trade with myself. I tried running the program process Explorer, but can't read the screen.

I would personally prefer a game with a high skill ceiling, where the time and gold spent to credits earned ratio could be improved with practice.I could have gotten behind the music games requiring payment to play and awarding credits.

The problem with some of these games is time vs. earned credits. I feel like Aaron hasn't quite worked that out yet. The reason people used the hell out of the slots is because there's no skill involved, and even if you wasted a ton of coins you could choose to just go back to your last save and try again. You could go for thirty rolls or more not getting anything, and even then only getting a small payout. But making it save every time actually takes longer, and means that it's really not worth it. Other games are similarly set up. If one game takes me a minute and twenty seconds but only gives 40-50 credits, while another game takes me less time and earns more credits, then I'm going for that one. They obviously can't all be dead even, but still.

I'm still missing a couple disks in the catacombs. I don't think I care much about going through there again to try and find them. Downfall and treadmill both seem beyond stupid. I'm interested in seeing someone successfully play either one. So far, they just both seem like they're based entirely on luck with a couple of available keystrokes thrown in to make you think you have influence over the result.

Due in part to Power Up With Pride and today being the first day of loosened Covid-19 restrictions allowing me to leave home for the first time since March, I have made no progress yesterday or today.I may resume recording tomorrow, Monday or Tuesday at the latest.I completed all of the music games as soon as I unlocked them.I can do a casual arcade session after the main game is complete. It's a part of the game I haven't put too much energy into.If I can find the High Low disk in the catacombs, it might prove to still be one of the fastest ways of farming credits. It was in the first game anyway.

He, uh, did do the music minigames. It's in his playthrough. I didn't even watch the entirety of any given episode, and I still saw that much.As for me? This sort of game is right up my alley. Remember, you're talking to someone who enjoyed pokemon for the better part of two decades. I can't say I have memorized every pokemon, or every move they learn or whatnot, but I'd say I know most of them, at least in general. If nothing else, if you named a pokemon I could tell you its good stats, its bad stats, and could probably give you a moveset for it. Now, stack it up against Manamon, and Manamon is ridiculously simplistic. The main reason is that manamon gerenally doesn't allow teachable moves. Aaron has said on more than one occasion that one of the ways he wants you to differentiate manamon from one another is by the moves they learn. Which is great in theory, but unfortunately doesn't let his games stand the test of time. And for folks like me, it means instead of having to know thirty to sixty moves per manamon, I have to learn between seven and sixteen, usually less because most manamon I play with, I end up building using a particular stat and move setup. Same thing. You name a manamon, I can give you a good moveset for it, and since by far most moves are just learned by level-up, it's not nearly as hard as it might seem. I am that sort of exhaustive player who enjoys taking a game apart as much as I can in order to see how it works, and how it doesn't.

I can get 50-100 credits per play at anagrams, personally. You've just got to type ridiculously fast and get a lot of the cheap two and three-letter words in. But yeah, grinding credits can take awhile.

In this walkthrough, if you haven't done this already, could you demo some of the arcade games? Like downfall for example. I don't get it, at all. I get the idea of what you're supposed to do, but I don't get how to make that happen. A quick search of the forum turns up messages suggesting I'm neither the first nor the only one. I was trying to find the fastest way to get credits. If I have to get thousands of credits at the rate of 30 or less at a time, this is gonna get old fast.

Honestly don't know the answer to that question.And yeah, he dialed the dual-type moves back a bit in their efficacy precisely because of how utterly broken stuff like Diabolical Fire and Blaze Punch is. An Ursinearator with Blaze Punch still wrecks half the master stadium, mind you, since its attack is so high that it just steamrolls things...well, things that aren't ghosts, anyway.Poor, poor fighting types. They have so many weaknesses.

I really don't think diabolical fire is as powerful as it used to be. Before he changed the weakness things a bit you could kill anything that was weak to both ghost and fire several times over with that move. He dialed some of that back a little.

Oh, Mortrex is still decent. Sonic Screech is a nice move because it lowers special defense, and Mortrex eventually wants to hit from the special side. Subliminal Radio Wave is great for confusing bosses. Chaos Energy is a perfectly accurate 95-power shadow move, which although it comes late, can also lower special defense. PsychoTrick is a bit weak, but it's a pretty good move with all the status it can spread around. Oblivion Dance can jack up both attack and special attack. It's immune to standard, fighting and magic, and I think its only real weakness is holy. So I haven't really tried one through a playthrough, and I don't know if Trajectory bred his for good stats or just grabbed a bunch and then bred them once and took whatever he got. I also don't know how he spent his train points. But I think Mortrex is still decent, at least on paper. Diabolical Fire wrecks like half the master stadium, too. Or Blaze Punch.

I thought someone said Mortrex got better in Manamon 2? I recently played one through Manamon 1 and was quite impressed. Being immune to bullshit moves like daring comeback and piledriver and powerfang is neat. Plus outside of holy damage, it's hard to kill this thing. And most of its moves don't miss.

That's how I look at it. If you know exactly where everything is, then yeah, being able to see things you already know the location of is kind of underwhelming. That said, being able to save anywhere and everywhere is lovely. I hate bad luck or a stupid fight I fail to run away from ruining my progress. And all the levels you get are more useful mid-game than late-game, because Stella can just smoke stuff after you get her, catch up really quickly, then carry your party into the mid-80s, which is more than high enough to start the postgame if you're careful.Just caught up watching your playthrough. I could've sworn Mortrex got Shadow Sphere at some point? I see you using Eclipse Rocket a lot when you'd probably get more reliable STAB from PsychoTrick. And that Hyper Maustadon absolutely hates Diabolical Fire because it hits both his fire and ghost weaknesses. You actually taught me something about the mirror shield. I usually just hit it once to prime it, then hammer the boss till the shield breaks. I also usually ignore the bomb, beat on the boss some more, let three people die, use the crystal since it doesn't change your ending or reward from what I understand, and then basically just bulrush it. I liked your combo of Bamboustica, Mortrex and Maustadon, except when Flame Apocalypse hit. One thing I noticed: your last resort protocol instance never once used Omega Sandstorm, which I'm surprised by. That definitely makes the fight harder.I honestly wish there was a way to fight Chaos Ogma at the end without the auto-life thing. For extra exp or a unique item, maybe? That fight is perfectly doable without a party wipe; hard-ish, but doable. Ah well, guess there's no real sense in making suggestions anymore. I lol'd at Giganatan trying to learn Mud Ball at level 50-something, and Chimerus trying to learn Barrier when it's had Call to Arms (which is arguably better as it also boosts an attacking stat) for a long time.

I checked Ross's level and he is at level 49 right now with over 500 Health. I tried using the left alt button for the strike scrolls and I could hit a few of the final shot presses. Now i have some other issue, my prefered voice for sapi keeps changing. I try  to set the option and then save the Changes, but when I load the game it keeps switching.

The Stella fight is one of the reasons I do the ghosts in Tower of Fear when I first get there. I have over a hundred healing pots I'm never gonna use otherwise, and the experience actually goes further at this point in the game than it will later. And I'm like 54-59 by the time I get to Stella, which is even more wiggle room on hard mode.

I got through the big room in the Tower in heaven thanks to a video on Youtube. The video told me how many steps i had to take to find the person. I don't Think I am getting the audio through any virtual Cables, am using my computer's own hardware. WIll check what level Ross is at, can't remember which level he was at.

There are some areas in manamon 2 where there are like eight different surfaces, and it just feels a bit excessive. It's an exceptionally minor niggle, but I've caught myself thinking, "Oh look! Another surface to walk on! I've never walked on gravel or wood before!". I also can't stand the swamp footstep sounds. I've walked through watery mud, and it just...doesn't sound like this. Not even close. I dunno, that one has always bugged me. Being able to turn off footstep sounds would be neat. Not necessary, by any stretch of the imagination, but a nice little touch.

Yeah, Jade, I actually didn't think of that regarding the intervals between beeps. I would much rather memorize a sequence of beeps rather than intervals like that. But, as that game is all but abandoned, this won't be changed.

I actually wish the footstep sounds could be turned off sometimes. They're easily one of the things you hear more than anything else in the game. It's not even close. I find that any time I have to do a lot of walking through a particular area where there are no bosses, no tamers, no wild manamon, no puzzles, nothing hidden to find and nothing lying around to be picked up, they simply add to the boredom of an already boring area. In that case, a sound that repeats every quarter of a second or so is the last thing I want to hear.

@Tayo.bethel I will do my best re: eternity studio. I'm not exactly perfect at it either. This is my Water Temple, if you get my drift.I would wager a bet that if Paladin were natively ported to a Unix environment, Dragon Strike as implemented would go from problematic for some to laughably easy for most.Windows just sucks that bad. I mean... we have timed hits in Super Mario RPG, Legend of Dragoon and Shenmue to name a few, and some are even more stringent when it comes to timing. The difference is that they run on hardware/ software stacks which actually boast quality, so if the game intends to give you 250MS to react then you actually get 250MS, not some random amount between 0 and 250.I doubt that the mechanic will come back especially now that Aaron has built a highly capable RPG infrastructure which can support far more modern combat styles.

The beep timing is fairly tight, but half a second is actually quite a lot. For some of those scrolls, that would actually mean rewriting the scroll itself because you're getting more than two beeps in a given half-second.I feel like the main answer here would have been to make scrolls a little shorter on average at higher levels, but with more beeps in them. In other words, you're memorizing a rhythm as opposed to just waiting out dead space. Instead of like five beeps in twenty-two seconds, there'd be twelve beeps in sixteen seconds, at a particular rhythm.There's a part in the postgame where you've got to do a scroll to break a wall, and there is like fourteen seconds of dead air before the first beep or something ridiculous. This should never be a thing, IMO. Again though, he was young and he's learned since then. My point here was to say that half a second for reaction is actually far too generous, IMO, and would create more problems than it solves.

Whoever said that there is almost no time to hit the button, I can almost always press it right after the beep and it still works just fine. So if you find you have no time, you probably have more latency. It is supposed to be a quicktime event. I suppose I'm probably in the minority of the people who don't mind the stile of combat. I'm only not a fan of too many hidden items.

The thing that bothers me about Paladin is the strike scrolls and their timing. There is practically no time to hit the button, which therefore involves a memory of how the beeps work. I just have better things to do than memorize beep sequences. People have asked Aaron to increase the time by even half a second, but he won't do it. I question this logic, but it is what it is. Thanks, again, for the great walkthroughs. I do wish there was a bit less grinding in the manamon 2 playthrough, but hey, fast forward is there for a reason.

The big open room in heaven is sort of annoying. For me, the key fragments fuck over speedrun potential - or they can, at any rate - but other than that, I don't mind. The mazes in that game are really not all that mazelike, at least for me.I'm also not as absolutely sold on step sounds as everyone else. I mean sure, would it be nice to have them? It would. But it doesn't make or break the game for me. I guess this is because tons of games with much higher production values than this one - games in the mainstream, I mean - had no footstep sounds, so I don't see them as quite so vital as some others may.I do think it's important to remember how young and relatively inexperienced Aaron was when he made Paladin of the Sky. He did some stuff right, but other stuff was just messy. He's done better in later titles, even if I feel that he really needs an editor. We have footstep sounds now, and stories that actually make sense, among other things.

I hate dragon strike scrolls, the most annoying are those walls in post game. They are pissing me off everytime i try.I will never recommend this game to anyone, cause of those scrolls and other things like no steps, and placing boss in the certain 1x1 point on the very big location.It was very fun at the beginning, but the deeper you will go, the more boring it becomes.Remember, that's only my opinion, you don't need to agree with it.Regards.

I...never really got behind dragon strike scrolls. What are the beeps? Why is the rhythm different, and why doesn't it seem to be related to the name of the scroll? Why do different people have different scrolls, and what do they mean?Time-the-beeps is just a really obnoxious way to increase the difficulty without actually increasing the complexity of the combat engine, IMO. And it harkens back to a lot of other games whose basic premise is to time the beeps, so for me, this was never this game's selling point, and damn near made me drop it at a few different points. I hope that whatever Aaron does, he never again returns to a system like this. It was definitely a different twist on casting magic, but IMO a failed attempt. Especially problematic because when asked about the timing of certain spells, he was dead set on leaving them in. Look. Waiting four to eight seconds between beeps, multiple times in a single magic attack, just takes time, increases tension and really, really, really makes me want to just level up two or three more times, use the weaker and much much faster spell, and completely ignore the broken one. I've never used Kelly's Embodiment of Righteousness or Lucy's Volcanic Storm seriously before, and that's why. But when this is pointed out and the response is "I will never, ever change dragon strike scrolls"...well, to say it was sort of a predictor of what was to come wouldn't be unreasonable.Nice progress on your manamon 2 guide. I've yet to listen though, as I've been a bit busier than normal today. Also, it's dog-hot here and it's sapping what energy I do have.I'm considering a mono-type playthrough (i.e., each manamon has only one type). Current team looks like this: Alluppig, Angorge, Centiplex, Limtoroom, Marlaunt, Vishthaugh. I'm aware that Centiplex and Limtoroom share similar roles, but Bugout is actually a really neat ability that I think I could use wel on Centiplex, and Limtoroom has some nice disabling moves...but if anyone's gonna go, it'll be the plant type. But what to replace him with.

My Manamon II play through now covers up to the end of Mamia, as well as exploring new areas made available by swimming.@Computergamer the only thing I can suggest is to make sure you're at a good enough level to afford a number of missed shots.If ross is level 45 plus with 500 plus HP then you can go approximately 30 rounds before you die, meaning you can afford nearly 20 misses.The first few rounds only require one beep, then two, then three, and the last one requires four.Be calm, keep your finger on the key and perhaps pull your chair a little closer to your desk or whatever your computer is on?You might consider trying different dragon strike keys, I use left alt myself. If you're running NVDA for instance, I don't know this for sure but it could be intercepting down arrow before passing it on to the game, introducing latency.Are you running the game through Virtual Audio Cable or some other exotic setup?If none of the above, you might just have to level Ross a bit more in order to mitigate the difficulty of the fight.Dragon Strike is a nifty idea in theory, but it would work much better in practice on a game console or anything not Windows based. Windows is such low quality software (including it's so called low latency audio APIs) that it makes way for these kinds of problems.

Honestly...no, I generally don't forget typing once I know it and understand it. And as far as city layouts, most of them are fairly simple. I get turned around in Sulee City very occasionally because its layout is kind of obnoxious, but otherwise, this isn't a part of the game I get hung up on.But then, although I know I didn't find everything, I'm also one of the first players to have gotten to the bottom of the catacombs and found the fair majority of the items there. It's very, very difficult to get me lost in a top-down game like this. It's easy enough to hide an item from me if the area is big enough, random enough or uninteresting enough (certain chests are hit and miss for me in the catacombs)...but the cities and other maps are almost second nature now.Now, if I stopped playing entirely for a year or two and went back, I might have a different perspective.

Just caught up, and I agree with you re: Sangora, and your thought experiment as well for that matter. I think everyone has fault in that situation, and everybody forgets about the dude who got Sangora sick in the first place. I'd say his fault is worse than either of the two teenagers. But unfortunately, I think the way Aaron wrote pieces of the story - Sangora wondering aloud if this was her punishment for being unfaithful - while perhaps true to life also led directly to people just jumping to the conclusion most of them did. There was a playthrough I listened to parts of earlier this year, and it reached a point where I had to skip large parts of that story arc because the people doing the stream were laughing too hard at Sangora. Made me very upset.Nice team, BTW. Your Mortrex is ungodly slow for its level though. Molandon is almost faster, which is surprising.AFAIK, Vishthaugh's ability silently builds its defenses only when its HP goes down. I'm pretty sure they drop again once the HP goes back up. It's still a pain to take down though, and if you let it get set up with Manatize, it's relatively quick and can sweep your team, as you've got two members who are double weak to holy.
