The only issue i have found is navigating the pc, it's similar to how it worked in oras, but instead of withdrawing or depositing pokemon, the only thing i can manage to do is swap a party member for a pc pokemon, it would be nice if i could put more than one party member in a box, and retreave others with eas, but i'll figure it out lol, it's not a huge deal really just something to keep in mind if you have a lot of different pokemon like me. I finally made it to the champion with only 1 of my pokemon fainted I think!@Loxias: After I beat the story I will wondertrade/gts a ton of starters/starter-evolutions (since I have all three starters) then I do shiny hunting and hopefully get lots of shinies.@Pulseman45: PKhex is available for gen 7 games, but you need to have custom firmware or homebrew, which is hard to do. Re: new Pokemon genoration 7 games may leave blind players in the dust I'm pleasantly surprised to hear how successfully blind people are playing this, I thought we were out of luck as well. Even so, I recently sold my 2DS and all of my games, as I just don't use them anymore. Even if I can play through and beat the story, I can only do that so many times before I get bored, and want to breed and train for competitive battles or at least battle facilities. That's always needed sighted help to read natures and stats and such, and practical sighted help isn't something I have readily available anymore (I am not making hundreds of be my eyes calls to play Pokémon). Even with XY and ORAS, I was finding it harder to find the motivation to play. ORAS' soaring around thing really put me off too, as here were a crap ton of legendaries that weren't accessible to reach because there was no indication at all of when I was flying over their islands.Listenning to let's plays though, I must say I'm impressed with the sounds that they've put in, like the return of fully featured footsteps HGSS style! Also glad to hear about the bag returning to how it used to be, I hated and never understood why the bag had to be laid out differently during battle. SOS battles also sound a hell of a lot easier than Pokeradar or Dex Nav chaining, so blind people can actually chain for shinies and hidden abilities reliably now! But not I, I guess. If they ever manage to get this on an emulator and write save file editors that let me see what natures and stuff I have, then I'll definitely give this a whirl. They've given a few chosen pokemon some buffed stats and new abilities, and that's cool. But this whole Alolan forms thing? Does Pikachu and its evolutions really, really need more freaking attention?There are a few pokemon from first and second generation who I'd really like to have seen get some love. Jynx is one. The Hitmon line is another example. Or how about Arcanine? Or Victrybel? Or Bellossom/Vileplume? Or Parasect?Not to mention most of the new pokemon have bad speed, or just plain bad stat totals. Oracorio is an example of this. No truly terrible stats, it's true, but four forms and apparently it's really cute. And Komala, which has a neat ability, good attack, and every other stat is fairly bad...but again, cute. And all the ridiculously cute grass types that aren't going to make it competitively? And the fairy type in general? Ugh, just ugh. Give some buffs to poison types. I see a lot of people wailing about how strong Toxapex is. I say bring on the era of the poison type. It's about time. They've been basically shafted in every generation thus far.Glad to see some of you enjoying the series, but I jumped off the wagon in generation 5. It killed x and y, it killed omega ruby and alpha sapphire, and it's going to kill sun and moon, at least as far as difficulty goes. It's the lazy man's levelling tool, and I loathe it. Worse, I'm pretty sure that it's on by default when you get it, rather than being an optional item you can turn on at will. If I ever played a game from gen 6 onward, my first order of business would be turning the friggin' thing off. I'm something of a purist. I know how to level pokemon. Knowing who's levelling is extremely good, and I don't really need experience shared to an entire party.That's just me though. Obviously go ahead and use it if you want. Re: new Pokemon genoration 7 games may leave blind players in the dust While I must say that the pokemon clones we have are impressive (shout out to the developers who made them) unless you have console games like stadium 1 and 2, I really don't see much purpose in this one the in game mechanics make it hard for each game. Tried to play the previous red and blue versions thanks to my cousin owning game boy and it was rather struggling. Usually I'd find myself wandering in places until I get lost and want to either take the game back, or take a nap. But without the use of the d pad in this one might be a little challenging ross is good at these he might have a tip in mind if you ask. As for me, I'm more of a smash brothers man, or fire emblem guy. I mean text and items from doors may be a problem but you have guides, and also the game maps are layed out like chess board. As for doing an lp on it, I'll have to do one while further in the game to show you how battle works. But it'll be on youtube soon. Here's how: if you hold B while riding stoutland the hidden items make a beep sound, so I just run near where I hear the beeps and when I don't hear them I go back to where they were, and when you hear a ding, you are on the item location.The extras I don't use, like clothes and photos.I am now at my sixth trial and I have Charizard to fly me to pokemon centers. The one where it's more 3d than 2d, and where hitting left on the d-pad doesn't actually move you left, but turns your character. I'm pretty sure the entirety of sun and moon are going to be designed this way. if this is the case, we're screwed. No questions asked.Frankly, I will be interested to listen to how this game sounds, but I feel like they killed it in gen 6, and I'm just not as wowed by pokemon as I once was. Re: new Pokemon genoration 7 games may leave blind players in the dust Menus are easy enough.Items can't be used unless a pokemon needs them, and you can sort them in a default scripted order to.Viewing a pokemon's status screen plays its cry, so you always know what creature you're viewing.Attacks all have a unique sound, so once you learn the sounds, you're good to go.As for navigation, wals or NPCS all make a sound when bumped into, so you can just follow walls and such.Text doesn't speak, but we've got lets plays for that.And; judging by the hype this game's getting, I'm sure their'll be no shortage of those.Gamefaqs might even have guides with directions to, so their's that.The sun and moon demo comes out in just under 2 days here, so we'll see how things go...Later! new Pokemon genoration 7 games may leave blind players in the dust To all blind pokemon players.According to gaming site gamexplain; who recently attended a pokemon sun preview event, developer gamefreek has opted to remove the directional pad as a navigation option in sun and moon.Now, players must use the circle pad to navigate the game's world.Aside from that, their is only one speed, all-out running.This is a problem for us visually impaired people, as the precision of the directional pad allowed us to play the mainstream pokemon games.The pokemon company is releasing a free sun and moon demo on October 18th, and I'll be downloading it soon after to check out this new method of navigation, and see if it really spells doom for us blind players or not.I hope it doesn't, as I'm a big pokemon fan, and would still like to play the games.I have the amazon exclusive stealbook double pack preordered at this time, but I may have to cancel it if my fears are realized.Hopefully, I 'll be able to post good news here in about a week...Later!
