Hello there@Soul Keeper, the way training points work is per fight, each foe that you vanquish in your quest to have your beast be the best, if of a level closer to your mons levels should give your mon points when he/she/it levels up. if your opponent is too under leveled as compared to your mon, you are likely to not get any, however I'm not so sure about this.There are a few things you need to consider,even so.From what I have played so far, I have gathered that per level its not only the fights your mon takes a part in and ends up defeating the opponent not capturing/switching out that counts,but also the potential for training your mon has.I.E your new mons are not trained,have never been before so they tend to catch up to those lost opportunities they never had before. So if you get them into 10 fights before they have enough experience to level,and they gain enough at the 11th to do so,they will gain 11 training pointsSooner o r later though, they would have gotten all caught up on all that lost potential for training, so each level no matter where you fight there after (although I still think having too under leveld mon as your opponent might not net you any, still need to test) will only get you what potential that new level brings. usually 5 or 6, or even 4.That said, it is quite natural that your mon when they get enough experience to level a bunch at a time only get the training points for the very first level gained and none for the others after,as it hasn't been in a fight after gaining the very first level.This is all speculation, mind you, gathered from my own experiences and from all that I've read on this topic by others.Only the developer knows how he has coded training points to work as, but I'm sure we will figure it all out soon enough. grryf. On the other hand, all I have to say is, either way you combine the names of zombie and unicorn, it still sounds like something a human would ingest: unizom sounds like a sleeping aid, though I can't spell its actual name, and zombiecorn sounds like a brand of popcorn devised by some cartoon company. I'd say dragons beat both, however, but this is a debatable subject since even though dragons can blow fire at people and fly around, unicorns can perform magic, and who's not to say one of their magical abilities wouldn't be to disintegrate that oh so powerful breath of fire that dragon just worked so hard to breathe out? Anyway, I'll be watching this topic I'm curious to see what people can come up with, -- if anything. Thinking about why this is tends to be more interesting than most zomby stories out there. Unicorns don't have as much going for them in that area, but there is The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle. Re: Zombies vs unicorns Okay we now have a pole (we should've done originally but I mde a mistake with the box filling in), so feel free to vote.In terms of battle, I suspect weight of numbers would tally and the fact that zombicorns would be a win for zombies. Then again, unicorns are renowned for healing powers and if the healing could reverse zombification that could be a definite minus for team zombie. Story wise, zombies do seem rather more derivative than unicorns, and I confess the standard zombocalypse at this point is a bit played out. That being said, zombies do have much more interestinng potential to explore societies, where as unicorns are far more of a magic do anything and look noble sort of idea. Oh, and this is why dragons win, since dragons can either be good, evil, greedy, faithful, powerful or companions depending on setting, not that I'm biased of course .I'm actually considering putting together an article on cultural baggage for fantasybookreview.co.uk, since fun though debating which would win in a zombie unicorn battle is, I find it far more interesting how the ideas and concepts are used and what potential they have to explore different facets of culture. Re: Zombies vs unicorns I read this story a number of years ago. I found most of the zombie stories to be quite strange and rather unappealing but the unicorn stories were rivetting and humorous. However, I'm a zombie fan myself. There's nothing quite like blowing the brains of an undead flesh-eater all over the place. But then again, a barbarian warrior wielding an axe while riding a war stallion that's actually a unicorn sounds pretty appealing as well. I'd quite like to have that as a story actually. Apparently, Dropbox hasn't heard of a shared folder that constantly updates for subscribed users, but is still read-only. This is annoying because as I release updates, no one gets them.To make a long story short, I'll be recording them, and hopefully finding a better way to distribute the files. Until I do that, I'll probably take the folder down for now. If you have those, have another check of Paladin Point.2. You didn't miss a city with a stadium. It's not made clear, but Opal Bay is just another convenient stopping point between you and the next city. There's a house in Opal Bay where you should be able to get a cutscene and enter a valley. Follow through that valley and you'll get what you want.3. As far as Electra goes, just let the story play out. It will eventually make more sense. I find that much too distracting, not to mention that I'm a perfectionist of the highest order, and hate the sound of my recorded voice. So there's no way I could handle that personally, particularly when recording a podcast. Some people don't mind the echo, but it's really down to personal preference, and whether that's something you think you can get used to. What the listen option does is it routes the microphone's audio to the default sound input device, in this case your speakers. Stereomix, in turn, records the output. Question about using Caps Lock key as a VoiceOver modifier key A question for anyone who uses or has tried to use the Caps Lock key as a VoiceOver modifier key. Does it work? I'm asking because I can't get it to work with the Griffen wired keyboard I'm using, and I'm trying to figure out if this is an iOS bug or a design flaw with the keyboard.I know something is going on with iOS, because when I turn on using the Caps Lock key as a VoiceOver modifier key, it takes two presses of the caps lock key instead of one to toggle the caps lock status.Thanks! People have been talking about how many Manamon are learn physical moves when they clearly excel in magic attack and vice versa. I now clearly notice this with my Mortrex. It's level 38 and it's attack attack is 101 and it's strength is 72. Sure, I've been putting points into magic attack fro the get go, but that's been because it was clearly already it's best stat. The best magic attack I have is diabolic fire, which only does 50 damage. Now, maybe it does learn better special moves, but it's just a little discouraging when he learns fear feed, night stick, and more recently black bite, all physical. As Jayde said, I'm not really sure how a beta team could miss this kind of thing. I know I know, it sounds like I'm ranting, which I guess I am to a point, but I feel these are things that need to be said until they're fixed.Also, does anyone know how often Aaron checks the forums? I know this thing is growing like crazy, but I haven't really seen him post that much. I'm just curious if he's seeing what we are saying and taking notes, haha. Re: Zombies vs unicorns @niall, believe it or not I've never either read or seen the last unicorn, but I have recently acquired the book from my lady's collection who is of course a fan and would be really interested to read it just because of it being a classic. I will say in debating this with my lady, it often comes down to a question of personality. Unicorns appeal because they're mostly but not always on the side of good, and have healing and magic and nobility in all sences, plus various ties to virginity which can be interesting to explore. (i'm actually working on a very dark unicorn horror short story based on this concept). Zombies as everyone knows are all about consumer society, conformity and death, and the fact that we currently have a hoard of often rather derivative zombie fiction (pu definitely intended), but far less by way of unicorn exploration probably says something about society. For this reason though, I do feel the story telling potential o f zombies is rather limited. Once you've played out hthe zombocalypse and gone through surival, there are fewer places to go, not none of course, a good creative author can work with most anything, just fewer, since after all appocalyptic monster fiction without zombies has gone back a very long way, right back as far as H G Wells war of the worlds nd possibly further. I can't deny that there is a lot of very cruddy stuff that just rehashes the old zombie cliches, and accept for the unicorn's image use on products marketed to young girls, which just focus primarily on isual appeal rather than exploring the idea, unicorns seem far less tapped out than zombies do. Btw, the anthology seems to have a wide range of stories and thus far I've not noticed any superior/inferior quality based on the creature involved, but then again the authors who contributed tended to be people who know what they're doing. @Steve, the problem with unicorns is that they fundamentally reproduce far less quickly than zombies do, so even i a unicorn did do huge amounts of damage to a zombie hoard, the zombies would keep coming. Also, while unicorns would have the advantage of speed, that advantage would go fairly quicly in close quarters, and close quarter fighting would be fairly likely being as zombies have a liking to grapple and even the fastest unicorn can't deal with too many at once.The unicorn's only recourse I think would be magic, in particular magic to cure the zombie infection, particularly since unicorn magic tends to be more of the clerric than the mage variety, so less of the fireballs and cones of cold and more of the healing and divine protection and calling light. As regards dragons, while on the one hand in fionavar a dragon was killed by a unicorn, on the other hand said unicorn was pretty dam awesome being also winged and embued with divine power. Said unicorn also died in the process as w ell. The dragon can fight at a distance far more effectively than a unicorn (why the one in fionavar was an idiot), and also if it gets to close quarters the dragon will win. if it came down to a battle of magic, remember dragonsare quite capable of wielding spells too, and dragon magic does! tend to be the more destructie sort, especially the sort that messes with the mind. With zombies I don't think a dragon would have a problem owing to superior protection via scales, indeed in the x heroes series there is a super hero with the powers of a dragon, ie, superior strength, fire breath and scales who is utterly immune to zombie attacks, (the ex heroes series was actually pretty dire). Dragons have far more effective area clearing magic as well as breath than unicorns, and in close they don't have the vulnerability. So yes, DRagons rock! I got sighted help to get the game started.The game is playable at the beginning, but later on, the areas get so big so they are impossible to navigate. There are many items you can find and equip, and I don't see how a blind gamer should know what item he have picked up. So I dropped the game after having played it for a while. So I've gone grinding two more levels across the board.Domestress picks up Slam at level 20; she's not a premium attacker, but this will seriously help her out.Lamgurk still has no earth move except Sandy Wind. I'm not just dubious anymore, I'm annoyed. He is a freaking earth type. Give him some freaking earth moves!Dussocket learned Stun Volt in my battle with Octoross, so I know he gets that soon. Good on him. I like paralysis.Hydrake gets Power Kick at level 21. This is such a weird move. I'm not precisely complaining, but this thing is sort of a plant, right? Exactly what is it kicking you with? And exactly why is it getting fighting-type coverage when many fighting types are screaming for same-type attacks?Tarba's HP is now 87 at level 20. He's not too defensive, but if nothing els e, all the Piledrivers I'm going to see will take much more to actually kill this thing. Elvond too, for that matter. I think his HP is pushing 70.Anyway, I have high hopes for the team, and I'm relatively sure I can win this fight if I cheese it a little by using herbs and stuff. God knows I've got the gold. Haha. Once I do, I'll give Octoross's whole roster and will note how much gold you get if you win. I don't remember what I was trying to catch now but I do remember putting it to sleep and soul splitting it down to 15% health or so and then using net after net after net after net after net. I started with 20 giganets and had 2 left when I finally caught it. I'm not sure how they can escape from giganets while sleeping and having been beaten within an inch of their life, but there you go. hur durr he got away! hurf durf he got away again! herp derp derp derp he got away! duh! he got away!
