A big applause to the CCA archivists and the LDS volunteers for the work
they did in scanning and making available all the parish records for the
Azores. It's a project that when I started paying attention was already
halfway done, but that was a monumental task by everyone involved.

Hi, I keep running into your post. It makes me think. My cousins
grandfather's name was Anthony Jose Lima, Lexington, MA. While researching
for Mr Lima I've found he declares on his Naturalization papers and
passport application he was from San Miguel, no town mentioned. But in 1949
he travelled to Santa Maria via Lisbon by air flight. I don't know why he
made the long flight at his then age of 75. He died four years later in MA.
His marriage docs declare his father Francisco Jose Lima and his mother
Rita de Jesus. Maybe? Barbara

 Barbara,

Are you referring to Lagoa on Sao Miguel island? There's a church there
 named Nossa Senhora do Rosario.

If you are trying to find a cemetery burial record, you most likely
won't. Unless the family has been paying a fee all these years, the grave
has been reused for someone more recently deceased.
