Hello and thank you for your well written, understandable reply. The reason I asked was while researching my family I saw as the occupation of my second greatgrandfather, Jose Silveia, Mariante/MarĂtimo <http://www.ghp.ics.uminho.pt/geneweb/gwd.exe?b=FETEIRA;lang=en;p=jose;n=silveira;oc=15>, Freguesia da Feteira, Faial. It made me wonder why two words to describe his occupaton. Other records I have seen list only one word for occupation. It made me curious!
Thank you again, your response is appreciated, Best Regards, Barbara Pacheco Bluhm On Wednesday, August 27, 2014 4:40:06 PM UTC-4, Mara wrote: > > Barbara, > > There may be others in the group that may have a broader background in > word etymology but here's my interpretation.
