RE: [AZORES-Genealogy] NEED YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS !!!

2016-12-04 Thread Richard Francis Pimentel
Carman,
The baptism 12 Jul 1781 could be the Francisca you are looking for.

I do not think the last record is relevant to your search. (re I wonder if this
is Jozé de Rezendes' father? [first page - second entry])

Rick

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] NEED YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS !!!

2016-11-22 Thread JR
That's right. Thanks. From I could tell, they did not record his burial at
the time so they had to confirm his death so that Umbelina could marry her
second husband.

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] NEED YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS !!!

2016-11-22 Thread 'Philippe GARNIER' via Azores Genealogy
Hi Carmen,
This record
http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-VF-PONTAGARCA-O-1788-1825/SMG-VF-PONTAGARCA-O-1788-1825_item1/P93.html

said that João Inacio de Souza was burried on 1801, october (no day date). This
record is a sentence of the parish priest who did it by request of Umbelina
Jacinta. The sentence date is 1807, 14 march. The correct date of the marriage
of Umbelina Jacinta with Francisco da Costa is 1807, 15 march (not 14
march). Then, before her 2nd marriage, Umbelina Jacinta needed a sentence to
confirm her 1st husband is died.
Best regards Philippe Garnier Paris - France

Re: (Manoel de Medeiros + Barbara Furtado)Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] NEED YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS !!!

2016-11-20 Thread JR
I mean, who are the children of Teresa de Jesus and Jacinto Luis. Their
marriage? Once I have a name I can generate both sides of this family and
send you a report. I will send it as RTF. MS works should easily open it.
If not, I will send as simple text file.

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] NEED YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS !!!

2016-11-20 Thread 'carmen furtado' via Azores Genealogy
thank you cheri

my grandmother lived with my family so i could understand it and can speak it a
little bit

try to teach my grandchildren little words like open the door or close the light

she taught me how to count so i can count up to 100

i couldn't learn the alphabet though - the letter before Z sounded like
eepsieluna

the months are easy to decipher

i just can't read it

i tried translating her COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO HAND OF THE DEAD book which was
never published in english years ago on my windows 98 computer before the
computer died - haven't tried on this one - every time i read the translation i
could my grandmother's voice saying the words

how i wish she were still here

wonder how many people she knew that i'm finding

Carmen, Here's a beginning list of words:
 https://goo.gl/P7hNxI

 It's all that us
non-native speakers started with and we added more and more
words from there, until we learned to "read" it
 ourselves and then help others.

lower right .  It does not follow the standard format
 of

the obito records before or after. The entry date of
 the

record is 12 Mar 1807 which is in sequence with the
 other

records in the book.  It is beginning to look like
 Umbelina

Jacinta and Francisco da Costa were getting married and
 they

need to find the death record of her late husband Joao

Ignacio de Sousa, I can’t make all of the record out,

perhaps someone with more experience can. It talks
 about

Jose Ignacio being deceased and had been married to
 Umbelina

Jacinta in the parish stated above (Ponta Garca), I see

another date on the record 1801.  I am convinced that
 her

first husband died and could not be the father of her
 son

Joao. The baptism of Joao on 17 Nov 1807 clearly states
 that

Francisco da Costa is the father.

 It appears
someone forgot to enter the obito of Joao Inacio Sousa in
the records of Ponta Garca. So, by order of the district
Reverendo, a record was entered stating that he died in Oct
of 1801. The order was made March 12- 1807, just before
Umbelina Jacinta married a second time to Francisco da Costa
 on March 15- 1807.

will send you a file to your private address. Can you open a
 WORD document?
 Also
who are the ancestors that lead to Jacinto Luis and Teresa
de Jesus. It may help to trace your ancestors. Sometimes
people carry names forward that do not appear in their
official records until much later. For example your Joao
Inacio [cc Francisca de Jesus] was AKA Joao Inacio da Costa

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] NEED YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS !!!

2016-11-20 Thread JR
It appears someone forgot to enter the obito of Joao Inacio Sousa in the
records of Ponta Garca. So, by order of the district Reverendo, a record
was entered stating that he died in Oct of 1801. The order was made March
12- 1807, just before Umbelina Jacinta married a second time to Francisco
da Costa on March 15- 1807.

Carmen I will send you a file to your private address. Can you open a WORD
document?

Also who are the ancestors that lead to Jacinto Luis and Teresa de Jesus.
It may help to trace your ancestors. Sometimes people carry names forward
that do not appear in their official records until much later. For example
your Joao Inacio [cc Francisca de Jesus] was AKA Joao Inacio da Costa or
Joao Inacio da Rocha.

It seems strange that she would remarry right away I think the father of the
son is Francisco da Costa and they just jumped the gun getting a family

the name it could have been just one of those Portuguese naming things.

Catholic church records are religious records. They will record if someone
received the last rites of the Catholic Church. Generally, medical
information (cause of death) is not stated. Note that I said "generally." I
have seen one book where the priest said the following deaths were due to
the earthquake and then listed them.

da Costa on 12 Mar 1807 and a son was born 17 Nov 1807 that is only 8 months.
It seems strange that she would remarry right away I think the father of the
son is Francisco da Costa and they just jumped the gun getting a family
started. Joao Ignacio de Sousa died much earlier to be the father. As far as
the name it could have been just one of those Portuguese naming things.

Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] NEED YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS !!!

my ancestor Thereza de Jesús was the daughter of João Ignácio da Rocha and
Francisca de Jesús

for months i have been trying to find her grandparents

no info on Thereza de Jesús and her siblings baptisms nor on her and her
parents obituaries

with many thanks to cheri i was able to find her parents' marriage - left side

http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-VF-SAOMIGUEL-C-1820-1836/SMG-VF-SAOMIGUEL-C-1820-1836_item1/P178.html

and with many thanks to joe matias i was able to find more info about João
Ignácio da Rocha and Francisca de Jesús' parents

João Ignácio da Rocha - parents - Francisco da Costa and Umbelina Jacinta

Francisca de Jesús - parents - Pedro Furtado Fontes and Lourianna de Jesús

Francisco da Costa was married to Izabel de Jesús - after she died in 1805 he
married Umbelina Jacinta on march 14, 1807 - right side

http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-VF-PONTAGARCA-C-1779-1810/SMG-VF-PONTAGARCA-C-1779-1810_item1/P168.html

Umbelina Jacinta was married to João Ignácio da Souza - after he died on march
12, 1807 she married Francisco da Costa - bottom right side

http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-VF-PONTAGARCA-O-1788-1825/SMG-VF-PONTAGARCA-O-1788-1825_item1/P93.html

their son João Ignácio da Rocha was born november 17, 1807 - top right side

http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/SMG-VF-SAOMIGUEL-B-1801-1811/SMG-VF-SAOMIGUEL-B-1801-1811_item1/P185.html

i hope i have these dates correct

it seems strange to me that umbelina would name João after her first husband

on all of João Ignácio da Rocha's children's baptisms his name was listed as
João Ignácio or João Ignácio da Rocha - no mention of da Costa

Umbelina Jacinta's parents were Amaro da Rocha + Josefa Marianna - still have
to find her parents marriage

so my dilemma is - is João Ignácio da Rocha's father João Ignácio da Souza or
Francisco da Costa?

what do you think?

thank you

Carmen
