[Bes-admins] Duplicate deleted items
I have a BB user who is experiencing symptoms in Outlook. Mail that he reads and deletes in Outlook is showing up duplicated in his deleted items folder, one read, one unread. Mail that he reads and deletes on his Blackberry only appears once in the deleted items folder, read. I have Googled this and the problem seems to be shared by others, but without a useful solution. The problem seems to coincide with moving this user over to BES 5.0.3 from 4.1.7 The problem does not seem to be affecting other users. I really don't care so much about this individual user's problem, because it only occurs in deleted items, but I am concerned that it may be a symptom of a larger infrastructure problem. -- Art Alexion Systems Engineer -- Infrastructure Engineering Group Resources for Human Development [cid:94F11F35-93A4-4E17-B0C5-CB83BF58D8F9] inline: 38EDF172-CFF3-48D2-924B-65746255F5EB[10].png___ Bes-Admins mailing list Bes-Admins@dataoutages.com http://www.dataoutages.com/mailman/listinfo/bes-admins http://www.dataoutages.com http://www.dataoutagenews.com RSS Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/Bes-admins - Bes-Admins mailing list is sponsored by Dataoutagenews.com. http://www.dataoutagenews.com

I would check the version of the COD file(s). Verify that the COD is updated on both Exchange and BES server. -Original Message- From: bes-admins-boun...@dataoutages.com [mailto:bes-admins-boun...@dataoutages.com] On Behalf Of Art Alexion Sent: Tuesday, May 24, 2011 9:16 AM To: BES List Subject: [Bes-admins] Duplicate deleted items I have a BB user who is experiencing symptoms in Outlook. [Bes-admins] Comparison grid
I am sending this to all 3 groups (BES-Admins, iPhone-Chat, Android-Chat) in hopes of reaching the largest audience. I apologize of you are members of all three groups and receive this request multiple times. We have always been a Blackberry shop and are now getting ready to allow our users to pick between Blackberry, iPhone or Android. I'm wondering if anyone has put together a comparison grid with pro's and con's of each platform? Something like this: Blackberry Best for email Fair for web Fair for social media iPhone OK for email Best for web Best for social media Android OK for email Best for web Best for social media Thanks! d Darhl Thomason | SysAdmin | Business Technology Papa Murphy’s Int'l. | d 360-449-4044 | c 360-607-5617 | www.papamurphys.com Join the TAKE 'N' BAKE REVOLUTION! www.facebook.com/papamurphyspizzahttp://www.facebook.com/papamurphyspizza #1 Rated Pizza Chain - ZAGAT 2010 National Restaurant Chains Survey (r) ___ Bes-Admins mailing list Bes-Admins@dataoutages.com http://www.dataoutages.com/mailman/listinfo/bes-admins http://www.dataoutages.com http://www.dataoutagenews.com RSS Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/Bes-admins - Bes-Admins mailing list is sponsored by Dataoutagenews.com. http://www.dataoutagenews.com
Re: [Bes-admins] Duplicate deleted items
If I understand MAPI and CDO problems correctly, they would affect all users, not just one. Also, my understanding is that the calendar is the most vulnerable to these problems. This only affects one user. No calendar problems. On 5/24/11 1:05 PM, Peterson David dpete...@dinslaw.com wrote: This depends on the version of Exchange doesn't it? Re: [Bes-admins] Duplicate deleted items
That's a big symptom, but I have seen weird issues. When I installed SP3 and did not update CDO, I ended up with about 12,000 log files on my BES server for each day. Updating CDO fixed that. -Original Message- From: bes-admins-boun...@dataoutages.com [mailto:bes-admins-boun...@dataoutages.com] On Behalf Of Art Alexion Sent: Tuesday, May 24, 2011 4:51 PM To: BES List Subject: Re: [Bes-admins] Duplicate deleted items If I understand MAPI and CDO problems correctly, they would affect all users, not just one. I'll give that a look, then. It is a newly configured BES server with no known Exchange updates since.
