There is no scientific study to determine whether vaccines have really prevented diseases. Rather disease graphs show vaccines have been introduced at the fag end of epidemics when the disease was already in its last stages. As per senior doctors quoted by the Times of India, Children suffer from less than 2% of vaccine preventable illnesses but 100% of the vaccines are targeted towards them. The vaccine pioneers who have recommended abundant caution before vaccinating the population have never advocated Mass vaccinations. Children are vaccinated simply because parents can be frightened to forcefully vaccinate their children. Vaccinating infants is the most profitable business both for the manufacturers as well as the doctors. The Government of India has come out with a quarter page advertisement in The Hindu warning parents not to vaccinate beyond the Government approved vaccines. Parents have been advised against vaccinating in private clinics and hospitals. The Orissa Chapter of the Indian Association of Pediatricians has admitted in a letter to the CM, Orissa, that private clinics and hospitals are ill equipped to store vaccines and warned parents not to vaccinate upon the advise of private practitioners and hospitals. ALL THE VACCINE INGREDIENTS ARE EXTREMELY TOXIC IN NATURE. Vaccines contain heavy metals, cancer causing substances, toxic chemicals, live and genetically modified viruses, contaminated serum containing animal viruses and foreign genetic material, extremely toxic decontaminants and adjuvants, untested antibiotics, none of which can be injected without causing any harm. The mercury, aluminum and live viruses in vaccines is behind the huge epidemic of autism (1 in 10 worldwide as per doctors in the USA), a fact that has been admitted by the US Vaccine Court. The CDC of USA, the vaccine watchdog, has publicly admitted that its much-publicized 2003 study denying any link between vaccines and autism, is flawed. The Chief of CDC Dr Gerberding has confessed to the media (CNN) that vaccines can cause autism like symptoms. The Autism epidemic is found only in those countries that have allowed mass vaccinations. In the year 1999, the US Government instructed vaccine manufacturers to remove mercury from vaccines with immediate effect. But mercury still remains a part of many vaccines. The vaccines with mercury were never recalled and were given to children up to the year 2006. Mercury free vaccines contain 0.05mcg of mercury, enough to permanently damage a infant. In a reply to then President Sri Abdul Kalam, the Health Ministry informed, mercury is required to make the vaccines safe. To the authors query that what are these vaccines that it requires the second most dangerous neurotoxin, mercury, to make them safe?, there was no reply. Mercury used in vaccines is second in toxicity only to the radioactive substance, Uranium. It is a neurotoxin that can damage the entire nervous system of the infant in no time. Unemployment was mounting, the foreclosure crisis was deepening, state budgets were in shambles, and massive bailouts were everywhere. Investors had every reason to expect the dollar and the stock market to plummet, and gold and oil to shoot up. Strangely, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 300 points, the dollar strengthened, and gold and oil were crushed. What happened? It hardly took psychic powers to see that the Plunge Protection Team had come to the rescue. Formally known as the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets, the PPT was once concealed and its very existence denied as if it were a matter of strict national security. But the PPT has now come out of the closet. What was once a legally questionable manipulator of markets has become a sanctioned stabilizer and protector of markets. The new tone was set in January 2008, when global markets took their worst tumble since September 11, 2001. Senator Hillary Clinton said in a statement reported by the State News Service: I think it’s imperative that the following step be taken. The President should have already and should do so very quickly, convene the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets. That’s something that he can ask the Secretary of the Treasury to do. . . . This has to be coordinated across markets with the regulators here and obviously with regulators and central banks around the world.1 The mystery over what was going on with the dollar the first week in August was solved by James Turk, founder of GoldMoney, who wrote on August 7: [T]he banking problems in the United States continue to mount, while the federal government’s deficit continues to soar out of control. . . . So what happened to cause the dollar to rally over the past three weeks? In a word, intervention. Central banks have propped up the dollar, and here’s the proof. When central banks intervene in the currency markets, they exchange their currency for dollars. Central banks then use the dollars they acquire to buy US government debt instruments so that they can earn interest on their money. The debt instruments central banks acquire are held in custody for them at the Federal Reserve, which reports this amount weekly. On July 16, 2008 . . . , the Federal Reserve reported holding $2,349 billion of US government paper in custody for central banks. In its report released today, this amount had grown over the past three weeks to $2,401 billion, a 38.4% annual rate of growth. . . . So central banks were accumulating dollars over the past three weeks at a rate far above what one would expect as a result of the US trade deficit. The logical conclusion is that they were intervening in currency markets. They were buying dollars for the purpose of propping it up, to keep the dollar from falling off the edge of the cliff and doing so ignited a short covering rally, which is not too difficult to do given the leverage employed in the markets these days by hedge funds and others.2 Just as central banks manipulate currencies in concert, so gold can be manipulated by massive selling of central bank reserves. Oil and any other market can be manipulated as well. But markets can be manipulated by only so much and for only so long without fixing the underlying problem. There is more bad news coming down the pike, news of such magnitude that no amount of ordinary manipulation is liable to conceal it. For one thing, roughly $400 billion in ARMs (adjustable rate mortgages) have or will reset between March and October of this year. Assuming 3 to 6 months for strapped debtors to actually hit the wall with their payments, a huge wave of defaults is about to strike, continuing through March 2009 – just in time for the next huge wave of resets, in option ARMs.3 Option ARMs are loans with the option to pay even less than just the interest on the loan monthly, increasing the loan balance until the loan reaches a certain amount (typically 110% to 125% of the original loan balance), when it resets. The $800 billion credit line recently opened to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac may be not only tapped but tapped out, at taxpayer expense. The underlying problem is little discussed but impossible to repair – a one quadrillion dollar derivatives scheme that is now imploding. Her latest articles are about surveillance in China. JUAN GONZALEZ: China deported five international activists today for unfurling a Free Tibet banner over the top of an Olympic Games billboard. It's the latest incident in what has become an almost daily crackdown on both domestic and international protesters who have had to contend with a brand new surveillance system that China set up ahead of the games. This includes 300,000 security cameras and an estimated 100,000 security officers on duty in Beijing. But it's not just Beijing that's gotten a security upgrade. There are now over 600 safe cities in China that have received new surveillance gear. The equipment and integrated security systems will remain long after the Olympics, to be used, many fear, on China's own population. The domestic surveillance market in China is expected to reach $33 billion next year. And some of the biggest beneficiaries of this boom are US hedge funds and corporations, such as Cisco, General Electric and Google. AMY GOODMAN: Award-winning journalist and bestselling author Naomi Klein calls this McCommunism. We're also joined in our firehouse studio by investigative journalist and author Christian Parenti, who's also just back from China. His latest piece for The Nation magazine is called Class Struggle in the New China. We welcome you both to Democracy Now! Naomi Klein, let's begin with you. Lay out what you also called in Rolling Stone the all-seeing eye. NAOMI KLEIN: Well, there's an incredible operation going on in China to use the latest, what's now called homeland security technology— networked surveillance cameras, biometric identification cards, facial recognition software—networking all of these cameras and running the software through it as a way to control an increasingly rebellious population. There's an incredible statistic from 2005 that there were 87,000 mass incidents, which means protests and riots, across the country. So it is already being used as a way to control the population and also to keep an eye on what in China is called the floating population, the migrant population, who are displaced by mega projects, who travel to cities like Beijing and Guangzhou and Shenzhen looking for work. This is a mobile population that is right now 130 million people. And this technology is used to keep track of those people, because in a sort of Maoist time in China, you had— where people stayed in their communities, you had networks of control and surveillance that were really about people snitching on their neighbors. When people are moving across long distances, the technology is replacing that. So Police State 2.0 is really about upgrading the surveillance system, with the help, as you said earlier, of US companies like Cisco, General Electric, who have been providing these technologies. JUAN GONZALEZ: Your article talks about—calls it the Golden Shield, as the Chinese refer to it, and you focus especially on the city of Shenzhen, in terms of the enormous reach of this. I was struck that you mentioned, for instance, that every internet cafe in China has surveillance cameras that are hooked up to local police stations so that they can keep an eye on who is using the internet cafes? NAOMI KLEIN: Yeah, and the internet cafes are—you know, they're really like internet bowling alleys. They're huge. An average-size internet cafe has 600 terminals. And there are dozens of cameras in the—not just obviously the cameras on the computers, but surveillance cameras. And this is a huge market. You mentioned that it's worth $33 billion a year now. It's actually—that's even increased since I wrote that article. The latest estimate is that it's going to be worth $43 billion, and—a year within two years. And the reason why this is such a fast-growing market is that it's not just that the internet cafes are installing these cameras; it's that it's a law now in

An explosive detonation in the basement of WTC 7 would cause a ground shake, and this would explain the camera wobble seen during the rooftop collapse. Information captured by this intrusive project would be stored in a huge database for an undisclosed period of time. Additionally, a network of sensors installed at toll plazas would allegedly be able to capable detect radi- ological materials that could be used in potential terror plots, the New York Times reports. However, the New York Civil Liberties Union has de- nounced the proposal as an attack on New Yorkers right to privacy. NYCLU Director Donna Lieberman lambasted this outrageous proposal saying, The NYPD's latest plan to track and monitor the move- ments of millions of law-abiding people is an assault on this country's historical respect for the right to privacy the freedom to be left alone. That this is happening without public debate, and that elected officials have had no opportunity to study this program is even more alarming. The 2003 program was predicated on the notion that once thousands of digital CCTV networks were installed across occupied or homeland cities, CTS would provide occ- upying troops-or police-with motion- pattern analysis across whole city scales. Based on complex algorithms linked to the numeric rec- ognition of license plate numbers and scanned-in human profiles, CTS would furnish troops-or cops-real-time, situational awareness of the battlespace. Despite repeated attempts by NYCLU to obtain information on Operation Sentinel, NYPD and DHS have refused to provide any information about their mega-surveillance system. While all traces of CTS disappeared from DARPA's website, portions of the program have resurfaced with a vengeance, courtesy of the NYPD and DHS. According to New York Times reporter Al Baker, Data on each vehicle-its time-stamped image, license plate imprint and radiological signature- would be sent to a command center in Manhattan, where it would be indexed stored for at least a month as part of broad security plan that emphasizes protecting the city's financial district, spokesman Paul Browne, said. If it were not linked to a suspicious vehicle or a law enforcement investigation, it would be eliminated, he said. In addition to civil liberties concerns--no small matter after all, given the repressive nature of NYPD and DHS-Oper- ation Sentinel's grandiose scheme bank on technological systems which do not exist. The Times dryly notes, the proposed plan relies on integrating layers of technologies, some that are still being perfected. In other words, the program is rife with potential abuse by enterprising security contractors, many with documented histories of promising much, delivering little and with substantial cost overruns borne by the public. The department currently deploys portable radiation vehicles known as TRACS, or Tactical Radiation Acquisition Characterization System, which the Times claims can detect radiological agents such as cesium and cobalt, and differentiate between dangerous ones and ones used in products like smoke detectors or medical devices. However, as I reported in June, another system under development, the Advanced Spectroscopic Portal or ASP, allegedly a more advanced system than those currently used, failed, as do today's systems, to differentiate between the components of a radiological dirty bomb and natural radiation emitters such as kitty litter, ceramics and bananas! As I noted, the ASP program is already tens of millions of dollars above the original estimate provided by Raytheon, other contractors and DHS. Why therefore, would any sane person believe that the system currently under consideration would be anymore functional or cost effective? Unless that is, Operation Sentinel's real purpose is to enhance an already-formidable surveillance state. Cynthia Kaiser, chief engineer of the US Air Force Research Laboratory's Directed Energy Directorate, used the phrase plausible deniability to describe the weapon's benefits in a briefing (powerpoint format) on laser weapons to the New Mexico Optics Industry Association in June. Plausibly deniable John Corley, director of USAF's Capabilities Integration Directorate, used the same phrase to describe the weapon's benefits at an Air Armament Symposium in Florida in October 2007 (see page 15, pdf format). As the term suggests, plausible deniability is used to describe situations where those responsible for an event could plausibly claim to have had no involvement in it. Corley and Kaiser did not respond to requests from New Scientist to expand on their comments. But John Pike, analyst with defence think- tank Global Security, based in Virginia, says the implications are clear. The target would never know what hit them, says Pike. Further, there would be no munition fragments that could be used to identify the source of the strike. Silent strike A laser beam is silent and invisible. An ATL can deliver the heat of a blowtorch with a range of 20 kilometres, depending on conditions. That range is great enough that the aircraft carrying it might not be seen, especially at night. With no previous examples for comparison, it may be difficult to discern whether damage to a vehicle or person was the result of a laser strike. The 5.5-tonne ATL combines chlorine and hydrogen peroxide molecules to release energy, which is used in turn to stimulate iodine into releasing intense infra-red light. The US uses Hercules aircraft for accurate cannon strikes on moving vehicles. The ATL is touted as bringing a new level of accuracy to such attacks, for example being able to pinpoint a vehicle's tyres to disable it safely. A second, larger version of the laser is also nearing initial testing. The newspaper noted that the administration was in the process of revising domestic intelligence-gathering in its waning months in office, and would lock in policies for President Bush's successor, completing the greatest expansion of executive branch authority since the Watergate era. Jim McMahon, deputy executive director of the International Assn. of Chiefs of Police, was quoted by the Post as saying the changes would catch up with reality, updating rules from the early 1990s to the post-9/11 world. He said police agencies would still have to demonstrate a reasonable suspicion that a target was involved in a crime before collecting intelligence, the paper said. But, it noted, Michael German, policy counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union and a 16-year veteran of the FBI, said police agencies could misunderstand it as allowing them to collect intelligence even when no underlying crime is suspected. He cited as an example an investigation into a charitable donation to a group later designated as a terrorist organization. For many commentators the issues raised are mostly a matter of academic abstractions and speculative meanderings. For me, it is anything but. These laws have destroyed my life. On May 14 I was arrested under section 41 of the Terrorism Act - on suspicion of the instigation, preparation and commission of acts of terrorism: an absurdly nebulous formulation that told me nothing about the sin I had apparently committed. Once in custody, almost 48 hours passed before it was confirmed that the entire operation (involving dozens of officers, police cars, vans, and scientific support agents) was triggered by the presence on my University of Nottingham office computer of an equally absurd document called the al-Qaida Training Manual, a declassified open-source document that I had never read and had completely forgotten about since it had been sent to me months before. Rizwaan Sabir, a politics student friend of mine (who was also arrested), had downloaded the file from the US justice department website while conducting research on terrorism for his upcoming PhD. An extended version of the same document (which figures on the politics department's official reading list) was also available on Amazon. I edit a political magazine; Rizwaan regularly sent me copies of research materials he was using, and this document was one. Within hours of my incarceration I had lost track of time. I often awoke thinking I had been asleep for days only to discover it wasn't midnight yet. My confidence in the competence (and motives) of the police ebbed away. I found myself shifting my energies from remaining cheerful to remaining sane. In the early hours, I was often startled by the metallic toilet seat, crouched in the corner like some sinister beast. For days on end, I drew cartoons and wrote diary entries in the margins of Mills and Boon novellas. I spent hours reciting things to myself: names of Saul Bellow characters, physics Nobel prize winners, John Coltrane albums, anything to keep the numbness away. I'm constantly coming across efforts being made to give detention without charge the Walt Disney treatment: the crushing weight of solitary confinement is painted as a non-issue; the soul-sapping nothingness of the claustrophobic, cold cell is portrayed as a mild inconvenience. A few weeks later, according to an executive-level source at the NSA, and confirmed by a related source within NSA's Q Directorate, the Directorate for Security and Counterintelligence, this editor has been a subject of a national security investigation since June 2005 that remains ongoing. The investigation of this editor is classified at the level SECRET/COMINT (NOFORN). COMINT is Communications Intelligence and NOFORN denotes Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals/Governments/Non-US Citizens. According to National Security Agency/Central Security Service Policy 1-27, dated March 20, 2006 and signed by NSA Chief of Staff Deborah Bonanni, the investigation of the public disclosure of the unconstitutional and illegal FIRSTFRUITS surveillance system would be coordinated by the NSA, Department of Defense, Director of National Intelligence, and the Department of Justice. The following are excerpts from the editor's article that triggered the national security criminal investigation: NSA maintains a database that tracks unofficial and negative articles written about the agency. Code named 'FIRSTFRUITS,' the database is operated by the Denial and Deception (DD) unit within SID [Signals Intelligence Division]. High priority is given to articles written as a result of possible leaks from cleared personnel. According to those familiar with FIRSTFRUITS, Bill Gertz of The Washington Times features prominently in the database. Before [NSA Director Michael] Hayden's reign and during the Clinton administration, Gertz was often leaked classified documents by anti- Clinton intelligence officials in an attempt to demonstrate that collusion between the administration and China was hurting U.S. national security. NSA, perhaps legitimately, was concerned that China could actually benefit from such disclosures. In order that the database did not violate United States Signals Intelligence Directive (USSID) 18, which specifies that the names of 'U.S. persons' are to be deleted through a process known as minimization, the names of subject journalists were blanked out. However, in a violation of USSID 18, certain high level users could unlock the database field through a super-user status and view the 'phantom names' of the journalists in question. Some of the 'source' information in FIRSTFRUITS was classified—an indication that some of the articles in the database were not obtained through open source means. In fact, NSA insiders report that the communications monitoring tasking system known as ECHELON is being used more frequently for purely political eavesdropping having nothing to do with national security or counter terrorism. In addition, outside agencies and a 'second party,' Great Britain's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), are permitted to access the journalist database. FIRSTFRUITS was originally developed by the CIA but given to NSA to operate with CIA funding. The database soon grew to capacity, was converted from a Lotus Notes to an Oracle system, and NSA took over complete ownership of the system from the CIA. Tens of thousands of articles are found in FIRSTFRUITS and part of the upkeep of the system has been outsourced to outside contractors, such as Booz Allen, which periodically hosts inter-agency Foreign Denial and Deception meetings within its Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility or 'SCIF' in Tyson's Corner, Virginia. Currently, in addition to NSA and GCHQ, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) routinely access the database, which is, in essence, a classified and more powerful version of the commercial NEXIS news search database. In addition to Gertz, other journalists who feature prominently in the database include Seymour Hersh of The New Yorker; author and journalist James Bamford, James Risen of The New York Times, Vernon Loeb of The Washington Post, John C. K. Daly of UPI, and this journalist [Wayne Madsen]. Since the disclosure of FIRSTFRUITS, NSA changed the cover name but the system remains in existence. The decision came prior to General Norton Schwartz assuming the Air Force Chief of Staff position. The shakeup in the Air Force follows the discovery of a rival chain-of-command operating within the Defense Department, particularly through the Air Force, that took orders directly from Vice President Dick Cheney's office. WMR reported on this rival chain in a series of exclusive reports. The decision to suspend the Air Force Cyber Command deals a blow to the interests of key members of the rival chain, including the commander of the 8th Air Force in Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. Barksdale was strongly hinted as the permanent home for the Cyber Command by the previous Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne. Wynne and Air Force Chief of Staff General Michael Moseley were fired by Defense Secretary Robert Gates in an attempt to eliminate the rival chain, which was responsible for a series of unauthorized operations involving nuclear weapons, including the movement of six nuclear-armed cruise missiles on a B-52 from Minot Air Force Base to Barksdale last August. Other Air Force nuclear incidents involved the movement of Minuteman III nose cone fuses to Taiwan, the possible loss of over 1000 other nuclear components, the falling asleep of three Minuteman III Minot missile officers with nuclear firing codes, the recent truck accident involving a Minuteman III in North Dakota, Minot's flunking of its nuclear surety inspection in May, and the virtually unreported incident at Minot involving the theft of military equipment by nuclear security personnel last year and an Air Force gag order on the incident. The decision to suspend the Cyber Command is being blamed on inter- service rivalry between Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Michael Mullen and the Air Force, with Mullen favoring the Navy's own cyber- warfare program over that of the Air Force. The rivalry argument is an attempt to divert attention away from the serious problems involving the command and control of nuclear weapons. And the Navy is not immune to the nuclear command problems. Yesterday, the Commander of Navy Strategic Communications Wing One at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, relieved Commander Shawn Bentley of his command over the VQ-3 Boeing E6-B Mercury Ironman squadron. The squadron provides airborne communications between the White House National Command Authority and U.S. nuclear ballistic missile submarine -- what is known as the Take Charge and Move Out (TACAMO) mission to communicate nuclear launch codes from the president to deployed nuclear missile submarines on patrol around the world. Bentley had only been on the job for three months when he was fired. On April 25, 2008, WMR reported on key members of the rival Air Force chain: Vice President Dick Cheney's Chief of Staff, David Addington, remains in office. Bruce Emig, Commander 5th Bomb Wing, Minot Air Force Base was relieved of command after last year's cruise missile nuclear incident, and Maj. Gen. Stephen Goldfein, one-time Commander Air Warfare Center, Nellis Air Force Base and now Vice Director of the Joint Staff at the Pentagon, has, according to senior Air Force sources, been cooperating in an investigation of Moseley. Moseley's one time executive officer, Brigadier Gen. Thomas Tinsley, reportedly died last month from a self- inflicted gun shot wound while serving as Commander of the 3rd Wing at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska. Emig's replacement as 5th Bomb Wing Commander at Minot, Col. Joel Westa, remains in command following the failure of the base's nuclear surety inspection. When he fired Wynne and Moseley, Gates stated that other Air Force officials could follow them in being sacked. The main reason why former Democratic presidential candidate Mike Gravel was ridiculed and marginalized by such operations as DailyKos, DemocraticUnderground, Move.On, and America Coming Together was that Gravel was the first to take on The Carlyle Group and its Democratic neo-con managing director David Rubinstein over the firm's attempt to hoodwink Alaska Native tribes over their assets. It turns out that none other than Soros is a major investor in the Carlyle Group. Soros was also an investor in George W. Bush's Harken Energy after it required a financial bail out. At last January's World Economic Forum in Davis, Switzerland, a conclave of the mighty and powerful that should be rounded up and trucked off to extraordinary rendition prisons, Soros was present with Carlyle's Rubinstein. To round off the attendee list of perpetrators of economic crimes against the peoples of the world was hedge fund Blackstone Group CEO Stephen Schwarzman. Blackstone's former director was Lord Jacob Rothschild, Soros' old pal and financial colleague. These capitalist vultures have been picking up foreclosed homes at bargain basement prices from hard-working American families impoverished by such global shylocks due to the collapse of the U.S. dollar and the U.S. housing market. Soros, through his bought-and-paid-for progressive media entities has managed to stifle any news that casts light on his own anti- democratic and anti-progressive activities in the United States and around the world. It has also come to light that Soros and his minions have targeted this editor for retaliation for the past four years. From covering the 2004 election fraud in states like Ohio that involved Eastern European and Russian programmers in the employment of GOP operatives, to the Pamela Martin Associates escort scandal involving top administration officials, to the activities of Russian- Israeli racketeers and gangsters like Boris Berezovsky, Leonid Nevzlin, and other colleagues of Soros, and the shooting of retired CIA agent Roland Carnaby in Houston, the Soros crowd not been happy. There is also ample reason to believe that this editor's phone call records and emails have been rifled through in order to obtain sources and funders. The world of George W. Bush's alternatively described brain and turd blossom Karl Rove is one of backstage deals to destabilize situations for maximum political gain. Progressive financier George Soros acts in much the same way in ensuring maximum profits from a program of what Naomi Klein calls disaster capitalism. Last month, the worlds of Rove and Soros met in the Ukrainian Black Sea city of Yalta, suspiciously, a few weeks before the Republic of Georgia and its neocon- and Soros-backed president, Mikheil Saakashvili, launched a night time blitzkrieg attack against South Ossetia and its Russian peacekeepers while unwitting South Ossetians and their Russian protectors were watching the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Beijing. Rather then appear, pursuant to a subpoena, before the House Judiciary Committee hearing on his role in Justice Department prosecutions, including that of Alabama Democratic Governor Don Siegelman, Rove was winging off to Yalta to speak at a conference sponsored by the YES Foundation of Ukrainian billionaire steel tycoon Victor Pinchuk, considered one of the wealthiest of the Jewish Russian and Ukrainian oligarchs who amassed their fortunes after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Past participants in annual Yalta conferences have included Ukrainian neocon President Victor Yushchenko, who came to the aid of Saakashvili with military and political support after Georgia's attack on South Ossetia; International Monetary Fund President Dominique Strauss-Kahn; and, more interestingly, Georgia's Saakashvili. The presence of Rove and Saakashvili in Yalta at a conference sponsored by a billionaire pal of George Soros, have many observers suggesting that Rove helped engineer, along with Soros, the Georgian attack on South Ossetia as a way to prop up the sagging political fortunes of GOP presidential candidate John McCain. More interesting is the fact that McCain's top foreign policy adviser, Randy Scheunemann, is a lobbyist for Georgia who has received hundreds of thousands in fees from Saakashvili's government and has lobbied McCain on 49 occasions over an almost four year period on behalf of his Georgian client. Pinchuk's YES Foundation and Pinchuk Foundation have worked with Soros to establish legal clinics in many eastern European nations that have experienced Soros-initiated themed revolutions, including those in Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus (the last two having been unsuccessful). Pinchuk is the only Ukrainian member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the International Crisis Group. The latter includes such anti-Vladimir Putin ideologues as Soros; Ken Adelman; Zbigniew Brzezinski, a top foreign policy adviser to Barack Obama; and imprisoned former Yukos boss and Putin opponent Mikhail Khodorkovsky. Pinchuk's Interpipe company is also the only eastern European company on Richard Holbrooke's Global Business Coalition Against HIV/AIDS. Holbrooke was one the Democratic Party stalwarts who advocated taking a tough stand against Russia in its confrontation with Georgia. Pinchuk also supports local Jewish communities in eastern Europe and the Caucasus, including Ukraine and Georgia. Pinchuk and Soros also attended last January's World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where Soros spoke on a panel sponsored by Pinchuk.

The National Security Agency (NSA) maintained a series of SIGINT intercept stations in Georgia that were directed at Russian communications. In addition, Georgian communications, including satellite communications, were under surveillance from the NSA SIGINT station at Menwith Hill in England, as well as Britain's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) in Cheltenham, also in England. The SIGINT take from the Georgian assault on South Ossetia does not square with media reports of Russian aggression against Georgia. Once again, a split has developed between seasoned U.S. intelligence professionals and Bush administration officials who are offering up propaganda suited to the purposes of the neocon Mikheil Saakashvili regime in Tbilisi. A similar split occurred prior, during, and after the U.S. invasion of Iraq when the intelligence did not square with the propaganda emanating from the Bush White House. In recent years, such a gulf between intelligence reality and White House policy has also developed with regard to Iran's nuclear program. Ironically, as the Bush administration seeks to restore the days of the Cold War, Russia has a number of U.S. intelligence professionals agreeing with its stance and statements on South Ossetia.
