Hi Hunter, I will investigate in either on active or coming from woke up situation, but meanwhile what are possibilities in either case? [cisco-voip] Auto Attendant setup
Dear Gents, I have a CUCM 11.5 setup with central and remote sites, each remote site has a local Unity connection providing Auto Attendant functionality and everything is working just fine except for one point which is during WAN outage the SRST on the site voice gateway router is hosting phones and phones can call each others and place outside PSTN calls successfully, but incoming calls to the site through PSTN lines is not hunting in the AA on the local CUC although I have a dial peer for the pilot pointing to the CUC IP address and the IP address of the VGW is added to the list of servers in the ports configurations on CUC. Re: [cisco-voip] Jabber IM service Issue
Sure Brian, I have a single interface EXP-E setup in which the EXP-C is pointing to the public IP of the EXP-E not its private IP, so my issue was simply the absence of the PTR record(reverse DNS record) for the EXP-E on the internal DNS which is used by the EXP-C which turns to be mandatory starting from version 8.8. Once the record is added the issue was solved and furthermore any user can have his first access to Jabber client from the public internet not only from the inside network. Hi James, Also it's better to have a non overlapping numbering plan so that you will not hit the inter digit time out. For example, don't have a user extension 4123 and a MeetMe number 41 in this case you have to wait for interdigit timeout. Best practices to avoid any overlapping in your numbering plan. [cisco-voip] CUCM with Microsoft Azure AD integration

Re: [cisco-voip] Unity connection Greetings v10
Hi Gray, Simply configure the following: 1. A working hours schedule (from 8:30 AM to 5 PM on selected week days). 2. Assign this schedule to your AA call handler. 3. Once you did this any time period outside the configured schedule will be treated as closed. 4. Go to Edit> Transfer Rules menu option and choose the Closed transfer rule, enable it and from transfer action choose transfer call to greeting. 5. Go to Edit> Greetings menu and activate both standard and closed greeting and upload the required audio messages respectively. That’s it now during working hours (configured schedule) callers will hear standard greeting and outside these hours callers will hear closed greeting. Taking into consideration that all the 4 clusters are using the same DNS system and same domain name (company.com). [cisco-voip] CME-SRST question
Dear Gents, I have a setup of CUCM 10.5 in a central site with a router in a branch site, phones in branch are registered with the central site CUCM and in case of WAN failure the branch site router should handle the branch phones till the WAN is up again, I have configured the branch router with CME-SRST configurations which is working fine with SCCP phones and all tests were successfully during WAN outage, my issue it with branch SIP phone which are not able to register to the CME-SRST router during WAN outage despite I have followed many configurations scenarios for SIP phones including global register configurations. So does anyone have a working scenario configurations for CME-SRST (not unified SRST) working with SIP phones. [cisco-voip] Unity Connection SRSV question
Hi Gents, I have a CUCM cluster version 10.5 with CUC 10.5, and we are going to implement CUC SRSV 10.X in one new remote site using SM-SRE-910K module on 3925 voice gateway router, so if any one already implemented SRSV in this mode I really appreciate if he can give me an overview for the implementation steps specially the first step as I reviewed the related documents (Complete Reference Guide for Cisco Unity Connection Survivable Remote Site Voicemail (SRSV) for Release 10.x ) but I'm still not sure specially about the first steps to make CUC SRSV mode up and running. I currently have the following idea about the steps to be taken, so please correct/add/modify/edit any of them according to your experience: * First we have to give the SRE module an IP address. * Then when we access the IP we will find ESXi already installed on the module and we can start deal with it like any ESXi host. * We will create a VM for the CUC SRSV on the ESXi host on the SRE module. * We will install the same version CUC as the one we have in the HQ. * Then CUC starts in demo mode, we will run CLI command utils cuc activate cusrsv to convert the standalone CUC to CUC SRSV server. * Then how it will interact with the CUC cluster in the HQ? Thanks. Best Regards Ahmed Abd EL-Rahman Senior Network Engineer ___ cisco-voip mailing list cisco-voip@puck.nether.net https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/cisco-voip
[cisco-voip] Cisco prime collaboration assurance upgrade fails
Dear Gents, I have prime collaboration assurance v 9.0 with the 3 patches installed, I was able to upgrade it to 9.5 following the upgrade/migration guide with no issues, but I'm facing an issue to upgrade it to v 10.0 (in the path to go v 10.6) as after the upgrade services are not coming up and the server not working and the GUI is not accessible, this is happening when trying to upgrade from v 9.0 or 9.5 to v 10.0 despite following the upgrade guie literally. So any one passed through this and have special tips that's not in cisco official documents? Ahmed: Adding to this, you can use the Call-ID header for identifying a specific SIP call flow in the output of debug ccsip messages. The Call-ID header field is a unique identifier for the SIP dialog, which means the Call-ID header field for the incoming call-leg will be different from the outgoing call-leg, but persistent for the duration of the dialog (not guaranteed to be the entire call, but more than likely the entire call). There are other unique headers fields within SIP, all helpful and used in their own way, but the Call-ID header is very useful for a high-level view of transactions involved in a dialog. For information on SIP signaling, I suggest starting with online articles by Andrew Prokop (google his name...). He talks on Avaya platforms but focuses heavily on RFC concepts. Re: [cisco-voip] 7821 phones issue
Hi Brian, If this is the case, so how this can be fixed ? Also if this is what makes the call fail, how these calls are working between the 7821 phones on the same LAN (both HQ and Branch)? Also it’s working from branch 7821 to HQ 7821, it just not working from HQ 7821 to branch 7821. [cisco-voip] UC SSO question
Hi Gents, I have configured all my UC 10.5 cluster services (including Cisco WebEx Meeting Server 2.5 MR5) for SSO. CUCM, Jabber desktop client, and WebEx access working correctly with SSO from the corporate LAN with PCs joined to the domain, which how it should work without having to re-enter any credentials when accessing these service. My question is a laptop for example which already joined the domain is trying to access the UC services from outside the network (Jabber Desktop client and webex) as they are both configured with public access, should the SSO works with this laptop from outside exactly the same way as it works from corporate LAN so that the user doesn't have to enter any credentials manually or it is normal to be prompted for credentials when he access from outside the corporate network ? I'm asking about SSO nature. Best Regards Ahmed Abd EL-Rahman Senior Network Engineer ___ cisco-voip mailing list cisco-voip@puck.nether.net https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/cisco-voip

[cisco-voip] Cisco UC systems with SSO
Dears Gents, I have a UC cluster serving multi-sites with the following application: CUCM 10.5, CUC 10.5, IMP 10.5, UCCX 10.6, and Webex Meeting server 2.5 MR5(on premises), Jabber 10.6 (desktop and mobile clients works from both inside and also from internet) and I'm about to configure the SSO for all services (local and services with external access like CWMS and Jabber). I have a colleague who will work on the Microsoft part to make the IdP (ADFS) ready and I will configure the cisco UC cluster side. So any suggestions or special directions about this? I mean if anyone has done this setup even for a single services and he can give me some advices or notes this will be much appreciated. Re: [cisco-voip] WebEx question
Dears, I have upgraded from CWMS 2.5 to CWMS 2.5 MR5, the upgrade went smoothly and was successful. But after the upgrade I have notices a big delays when the user try to create/join a meeting which was the same symptoms when the server was not having a valid SSL certificate (we have a public CA signed certificate). And on the server I noticed that the previously working certificate was assigned on the server as internal SSL certificate while for the external SSL certificate it shows that it doesn't have one. In the release notes nothing was mentioned in this regard, so any ideas how we can get it to work normally after this upgrade ? The earlier versions of 2.5 have quite a lot of sev 1 and 2 bugs, check the release notes and you'll see the details (well some of them) But if you are not hitting them, then you can use your judgement as to whether it's a reason to upgrade. The MR's do still seem to have a history of introducing bugs as we go along, again, that's a bit annoying. (again you'll see in release notes) At some points these are sev 1,2 bugs too. I didn't hit a cert issue that I can see on on my MR5 in SDC, but I'm not sure on all the symptoms, so it still might be lurking. If you are not hitting any issues with your current version, I'd probably be inclined to wait for MR6. When you go there, you can turn on the short URL's. [cisco-voip] Cisco Expressway for Jabber MRA query
Hi Gents, I'm implementing Expressway C and E version 8.5.2 for MRA and i have the following client setup : - Split horizon DNS. - 2 domains as follows, Internal: domainX.local and external: domainX.com - All UC servers are joining the internal domain, CUCM.domainX.local, IMP.doaminX.local, CUC.domainX.local,etc. - Client has both local certificate authority (CA) to locally sign his servers certificates and also registered to public CA to sign his public servers certificates. - I have EXP-C and EXP-E to enable the Mobile Remote Access for Jabber clients from outside. I'm able to make the EXP-C either on internal domainX.local or external domainX.com and for sure the EXP-E on the DMZ will be on the domainX.com as it will be a public and will be accessed from internet. my question is, should i place the EXP-C in the domainX.local (internal) or domainX.com (external) for the setup to work? I have the following concerns in this regard: - If i placed the EXP-C in the external domainX.com, will its communication with the internal UC servers which are all in the internal domain be okay ? and will the certificate trust relation with all UC servers and relation with the EXP-E will be fine? - If i placed the EXP-C in the internal will the certificate trust relation with all UC servers and relation with the EXP-E will be fine? - is it possible to have EXP-C certificates signed by local CA while the EXP-E certificates will be signed by public CA ? will it be okay? - is the Unified CM phone security profile names as a part of the data to be entered when generating the CSR in the EXP-C mandatory ? i mean do i have to use TLS for phones through this security profile or I can just enable the non-secure phone profile without TLS, and if i can use the non-secure phone profile, do i have to enter this field when generating the EXP-C CSR or can I leave it blank ? If any on have a working setup kindly brief me about it specially the domains and certificates parts.
