Thanks for your reply Znooter and Andreas. Based on your E-Mails, the
Salsa Workshop will be on Sunday August 6th at 9:00 pm with some basic
and intermediate couple steps. Please invite some girl to practice the
couple steps with some spins and hand figures ;) I will anounce the
event. See you there!

Re: [Debconf-discuss] Cycling on the weekend of Aug 5?

2017-08-04 Thread Jean-Baptiste Perrier
To clarify further (you posted the same link twice ;-) ), I meant the St
jean ride:
https://www.strava.com/activities/436393533
It is fine gravel after Chambly. I did that regularly with 23mm tires, no
problems with my road bike. Wider tires will bring you comfort as for any
road but I don't remember it being uncomfortable.
I ride 28's now but it is for the MTL potholes more than for the gravel :-)

For the around the lake ride ( https://www.strava.com/activities/435890583
), it is asphalt all the way IIRC. Road side after Chambly.

To clarify, this is the out-and-back through Chambly
(https://www.strava.com/activities/435890583), yes? From what I
gather, this has some loose gravel and might not be entirely ideal for
a proper road bike?

I have been tentatively planning on doing the other route you
suggested (https://www.strava.com/activities/435890583), the one that
goes around the lake. Either way, I guess a single group could go
together as far as Chambly.

Anyone want to join me on Sunday for the Saint Jean sur Richelieu ride?

Lucas mentioned turning this into a day trip. Given that it is planned on
Wednesday, I cannot confirm I can be there yet (work).
But if I can, I don't mind doing the same trip twice.
That means you can join me on Sunday (08-06) and join another group in the
proposed activities* on Wednesday (08-09).

Hit me up via email or on irc (Habanero) anytime.

I think I can survive with the current status until Sunday evening
(I'm busy with talks on Sunday so disassembling y laptop in between
would be a bad idea :-) )

Thanks for your offer in any case (even if problem might be fixed
before by some other kind soul - people in Montreal are probably
sleeping at this time :-P)

As follows: go to https://debconf17.debconf.org/ , log in, go to your profile
in the right hand upper corner, choose "submit talk proposa", in the second
'talk type' field you likely want to choose 'BoF', in the third field "Track"
choose "Ad hoc talks".

[Debconf-discuss] Help needed with loose contact of my Lenovo T440s

2017-08-04 Thread Andreas Tille
Hi folks,

since some time when adjusting the lid of my Lenovo T440s I get some
greenish pattern which is vanishing after adjusting the angle of the
screen a bit (in the best case). The issue becomes more frequent
over time so I need to do something - but I neither have tools nor
did I ever open this box. Others have told me that fixing the cable
leading to the screen would probably solve the issue.

I'd be really happy if some kind soul who might have some experience
with Lenovo laptops would help me with fixing the problem.

Kind regards

   Andreas.

What is Wafer and how to I "get" to it? Not via
https://debconf17.debconf.org/talks/new/ , it seems. IIRC Nattie explained this
on IRC but I can't find the answer anymore; it would likely also be usefull to
have the answer here.

Thanks for helping organising DebConf; you rock!
