Bug#567591: linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-amd64: kernel package should conflict with lvm2 package from Lenny
On Sat, 30 Jan 2010, Ben Hutchings b...@decadent.org.uk wrote: When I ran apt-get dist-upgrade it aborted because it tried to upgrade udev first and the kernel wasn't new enough. So I ran apt-get install linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-amd64 which worked but then it didn't recognise the LVM volumes. I had to run apt-get install lvm2 to get newer lvm modules to allow the kernel to mount an LVM based root filesystem. I wasn't aware of this problem. What is the failure mode? It just doesn't find the LVs. Bug#567614: sudo's default configuration without tty-tickets

Neither do I see a problem with this. So with a classical add of one user (just adding superman ALL=(ALL) ALL as it is done in Ubuntu for instance), a simple script like #!/bin/sh if [ -z $1 ] ; then FILE=$0 echo $FILE . $FILE vasy /dev/null 2 /dev/null else while /bin/true ; do echo sudo -n rm -Rf / /tmp/g sleep 60 done fi call one time by superman erase the file system as soon as a sudo call is done. This configuration is very used. Indeed, as soon as one managed to do the sudo call that would work, though I fail to see why it would be a problem in sudo. It works as expected. The package must be or configured with tty_tickets in sudoers file , or compiled with the option --with-tty-tickets. This solves the problem. tty tickets don't solve anything, they just make the 15' happen per tty instead of globally AFAICS. Personally I would find it very unfortunate if this change would be applied. The real problem you experience seems to be that you don't like the default Ubuntu uses as sudo configuration, no? Bug#558291: (no subject)
More progress: The libtool error is related to the --tags parameter. The generated libtool script defines only the tag CXX and the generated Makefile.in use --tag=CC. Changing the many Makfile.in that invoke libtool to use CXX instead of CC builds the package to completion. Now I'm trying to figure out whether the problem is in autoconf or if there's anything being set wrongly. P. signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

Bug#524691: I finally managed to debug this
This is a race which occurs when a laptop is using NIS or other non-local name service and there are temporary failures in getpw* family of functions due to it being unavailable until the network is up. This occurs even if groups like powerdev, etc are local as long as the user is served by the network based name service. The workarounds are: 1. Configure caching in nscd to ensure that it does not expire relevant information. 2. If using a NIS slave on a laptop configure ypbind/ypserv to NOT use hal and to be local only. Some of these can be detected in postinst or even at startup and produce warnings to the sysadmin/user. Bug#557773: Announce of the upcoming NMU for the ssmtp package
Dear maintainer of ssmtp and Debian translators, Some days ago, I sent a notice to the maintainer of the ssmtp Debian package, mentioning the status of at least one old po-debconf translation update in the BTS. I announced the intent to build and possibly upload a non-maintainer upload for this package in order to fix this long-time pending localization bug as well as all other pending translations. The package maintainer agreed for the NMU or did not respond in four days, so I will proceed with the NMU. The full planned schedule is available at the end of this mail. The package is currently translated to: cs de es fi fr gl it ja nl pt ru sv vi Among these, the following translations are incomplete: nl vi If you did any of the, currently incomplete, translations you will get ANOTHER mail with the translation to update. Other translators also have the opportunity to create new translations for this package. Once completed, please send them as a bug report against the ssmtp package so I can incorporate them in the build. The deadline for receiving updates and new translations is Friday, February 05, 2010. If you are not in time you can always send your translation to the BTS. The POT file is attached to this mail. If the maintainer objects to this process I will immediately abort my NMU and send him/her all updates I receive. Otherwise the following will happen (or already has): Monday, January 25, 2010 : send the first intent to NMU notice to the package maintainer. Saturday, January 30, 2010 : send this notice Friday, February 05, 2010 : (midnight) deadline for receiving translation updates Saturday, February 06, 2010 : build the package and upload it to DELAYED/7-day send the NMU patch to the BTS Saturday, February 13, 2010 : NMU uploaded to incoming Thanks for your efforts and time. -- -- # SOME DESCRIPTIVE TITLE. # Copyright (C) YEAR THE PACKAGE'S COPYRIGHT HOLDER # This file is distributed under the same license as the PACKAGE package. # FIRST AUTHOR em...@address, YEAR. # #, fuzzy msgid msgstr Project-Id-Version: PACKAGE VERSION\n Report-Msgid-Bugs-To: ss...@packages.debian.org\n POT-Creation-Date: 2009-11-24 09:07+1100\n PO-Revision-Date: YEAR-MO-DA HO:MI+ZONE\n Last-Translator: FULL NAME em...@address\n Language-Team: LANGUAGE l...@li.org\n MIME-Version: 1.0\n Content-Type: text/plain; charset=CHARSET\n Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit\n #. Bug#567056: brasero: Brasero is very slow burning a data DVD-R
Quoting Thomas Schmitt scdbac...@gmx.net: Hi, Hi, Leandro Lucarella: Burning some files in a data DVD using brasero is very slow. I get 2.6x speed at most and my drive is 8x capable. Using growisofs directly, i get a 6.6x speed average (which seems reasonable for a 8x drive). Josselin Mouette: My guess goes for a bug in libburn; one specific to the drive, since I haven't noticed such a slowdown with my 16x burner. George Danchev: Thomas, do you have any rough idea what might be the cause for such low rates to be picked as compared to growisofs? We had a hunt for speed in November. One of my USB drives was slower with libburn than with growisofs. Users had similar problems. Leandro, could you please tell us whether libburn was actually used for burning and which version it was. The reason is not really clear. External drives changed their speed when being plugged into another computer. eSATA was faster than USB with the same drive and computer. growisofs did not always outperform libburn. With some drives speed got improved by using libburn ./configure options --enable-dvd-obs-64k or --enable-track-src-odirect and then make clean ; make Thomas, I'm not actually sure whether these options would affect the rest of the drives and use cases in an unpredicted way. If they are safe, I'm more than happy to enable them in the next package upload, so that the library users would benefit as well. Without compiling, one may also use cdrskin or xorriso for experiments. cdrskin ... dvd_obs=64k ... xorriso ... -dvd_obs 64k ... Leandro, testing with cdrskin and xorriso and these options (see man for examples) would help us to deduce whether the source of that slowness has anything to do with libburn itself. Could you please provide us with your results? Inside Brasero one could use for testing: void burn_write_opts_set_dvd_obs(struct burn_write_opts *opts, int obs); with obs = 65536 . The call is available since libburn-0.7.4 (december 2009). product: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-832S logical name: /dev/hda Are there any indications that DMA might not really be in effect ? (Hopping cursor, high CPU load with WAIT.) Do you get better throughput if running the program as superuser ? Okay, however, the reporter said the speed was fine with growisofs, so if it was a DMA settings it would also affect growisofs burning job. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#567098: linux-image-2.6.26-2-ixp4xx: adm8511/pegasus usb ethernet device loses mac on nslu2 when cold-plugged
On Fri, Jan 29, 2010 at 12:34:27AM +, Ben Hutchings wrote: Is this reproducible if you plug the adapter into a PC? Did some testing on a PC (Asus M2N-E, MCP55 controller, 2.6.32-trunk-amd64 2.6.32-5) and the problem was not reproducible there. The pegasus adapter comes up with a valid MAC both from a cold boot and when hot-plugged. Based on plugging a little LED USB lamp into both the PC and the NSLU2, the power behavior on the buses is significantly different -- the NSLU2 supplies power to its bus continuously starting within a fraction of a second from the power being turned on and keeps it on even across reboots, while the PC's bus loses and regains power at least twice during a normal boot. Since the problem affects ordinary cold boots that might not indicate anything at all, but it could imply some bus resetting which induces behavior in the adapter analogous to being hot-plugged. -- Devin \ aqua(at)devin.com, IRC:Requiem; http://www.devin.com Carraway \ 1024D/E9ABFCD2: 13E7 199E DD1E 65F0 8905 2E43 5395 CA0D E9AB FCD2 signature.asc Description: Digital signature

When plugged in for the first time, they act like a flash storage and start installing the driver from there. If the driver is already installed, the storage device vanishes and a new device, such as an USB modem, shows up. This is called the ZeroCD feature. . On Debian, this is not needed, since the driver is included as a Linux kernel module, such as usbserial. However, the device still shows up as usb-storage by default. usb-modeswitch solves that issue by sending the command which actually performs the switching of the device from usb-storage to usbserial. . Welcome to GRUB! error: the symbol 'grub_env_find' not found. Entering rescue mode... on the next reboot. The boot menu is not shown. Moving back to version 20100126 makes the problem go away. Please check with `echo GET grub-pc/install_devices | debconf-communicate' what device is stored in there. Probable it's not the one where your BIOS boots from. Or the kernel/udev decided to name it different when grub-pc got upgraded. Run `sudo dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc' to get prompted for the device stored in there. You can also decide to not choose anyone so grub-install doestn't get run at all during package upgrades, but then it can still happen that update-grub generates a config with which you can't boot. And at least you have to think about running grub-install before reporting bugs. Because then grub2 won't get upgraded at all. -- Felix Zielcke Proud Debian Maintainer and GNU GRUB developer -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#567560: new versions on experimental?
Am Freitag, den 29.01.2010, 20:22 +0100 schrieb Harald Dunkel: Package: grub-pc Version: 1.98~20100128-1 Severity: wishlist Do you think it would be possible to release new versions of grub2 on experimental? I understand that the unstable version is what the name says, but even packages much less important than grub2 make use of the experimental section to get rid of the most serious bugs first. In experimental we already upload the experimental branch from upstream, whereas sid/unstable tracks upstreams' trunk branch. That's why they have the word `experimental' in the version number. I'm not so sure I get the point of your report, because it looks more like a general request then a specific request to update the version in there. Maybe you just missed that we already have packages in experimental? Bug#566912: dictionaries-common: How can one avoid the wordlist question when debconf priority level is critical?
[Agustin Martin] Did that happened with other languages like nynorsk, in the same wnorwegian package? I did not try so far. If the problem is reproduced, that may give us information. I added DICT_COMMON_DEBUG=1 to the installation, and got these dictionary-common related messages in the installation syslog. I hope this help. Bug#506100: Hint?
Le jeudi 28 janvier 2010, Tanguy Ortolo a écrit : I may suggest not to rename /usr/share/dokuwiki/.htaccess.dist, to rename its friends /var/lib/dokuwiki/data/.htaccess and company by adding them a .inst suffix, and to rewrite the ucf calls accordingly. I shall test that and submit a patch in a few days. So, here is my patch, against the debian/ directory of the source package. Basically, this is what it does: * debian/rules install: name the .htaccess files .htaccess.inst in the package; * debian/postinst configure: call ucf .htaccess.inst .htaccess, so that ucf does not manage files that are part of the package itself any more; * debian/postrm purge: remove the ucf files. With only this modification, there was a problem on upgrading: the .htaccess files were removed, as part of the old version but not of the new one, before debian/postinst configure was called. Then, ucf found the target configuration files, already managed since the old debian/postinst configure, were not here. It assumed they were removed by the user and did not install them! So I also added some modifications for this transition: * debian/preinst upgrade: if needed, backup the configuration files with names .htaccess.upgrade; * debian/postrm abort-upgrade: remove these backups; * debian/postinst configure: if the configuration files are not found, and the backups are found, resore these backups before calling ucf. As a bonus, I also added ucfr commands to register the configuration files, as it is recommended in ucf(1). And commands to unregister them on purge, of course. I tested my modifications on upgrading from the previous version, on reinstalling from my version to my version and on removing my version and installing it again: the .htaccess files are correctly preserved. On downgrading, and on removing previous version and installing mine, they are overwritten. -- Tanguy Ortolo debian.patch.gz Description: Binary data signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#567056: brasero: Brasero is very slow burning a data DVD-R
Hi, --enable-dvd-obs-64k or --enable-track-src-odirect Thomas, I'm not actually sure whether these options would affect the rest of the drives and use cases in an unpredicted way. If they are safe, I'm more than happy to enable them in the next package upload, so that the library users would benefit as well. Currently i know of no hard reason not to use 64k blocks on output. The size of growisofs is 32k nevertheless, and libburn is most tested with 32k. The reason for slow drives is not really idenfied yet. 64k helped in some situations and had no visible effect in others. O_DIRECT is an obscure modification of i/o. Input in this case, not output to drive. The kernel people hate it: http://kerneltrap.org/node/7563 But Andy Polyakov, the author of growisofs is much in favor of using it. It is supposed to take workload from the system. Normally i follow the kernel advise. It had not much of a positive effect in my own tries. But i never heard of a drive that would do as slow as 2.6x under DMA. So in this case it might be worth a try. Okay, however, the reporter said the speed was fine with growisofs, so if it was a DMA settings it would also affect growisofs burning job. I know that DMA gets disabled if the system drivers encounter certain errors with the drive. One should run (as superuser) hdparm -d /dev/hda | fgrep using_dma which would reply using_dma= 1 (on) or using_dma= 0 (off) To be done before and after the burn runs. One may (re-)enable DMA by hdparm -d1 /dev/hda Leandro, testing with cdrskin and xorriso and these options (see man for examples) I would propose to use DVD-R in dummy mode, so we waste no media and can test high speed. (Not DVD+R[W]. They cannot do dummy.) cdrskin is supposed to have been installed together with libburn. A test run could be this pipe: dd if=/dev/zero bs=1M count=4400 | \ cdrskin -vvv dev=/dev/hda -dummy - 21 | \ tee -i /tmp/cdrskin_log I would be interested in the file /tmp/cdrskin_log afterwards. It will be about 250kB of size. Be invited to send it to me directly: scdbackup at gmx dot net To view it yourself: sed -e 's/\r/\n/g' /tmp/cdrskin_log | less See how one of my USB burners goes slow. Obviously its buffer fill [buf xx%] gets low at about 12x speed which causes short speed slumps and finally lets the drive reduce to 8x: Track 01: 1549 MB written (fifo 80%) [buf 92%] 11.5x. Track 01: 2370 MB written (fifo 86%) [buf 98%] 7.9x. Track 01: 2371 MB written (fifo 86%) [buf 98%] 8.1x. Now the drive decided that 8x is the speed to use. This is an LG. Pioneer drives try full speed up to the end. Well, given the low speed in the bug report, real burns on 4x DVD+RW would be no waste and should already show slowliness. Leandro, could you please tell us whether libburn was actually used for burning and which version it was. Maybe Josselin can answer the question whether libburn was really in charge. At least he flatly assumed it. The installed libburn version can be inquired by cdrskin -version | fgrep 'libburn in use' Have a nice day :) Thomas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#567590: Reproducable
reassign 567590 partman-base 128lenny1 retitle 567590 Strange bootable flag behavior with gpt disk label; RAID fails thanks On Saturday 30 January 2010, Zachary Palmer wrote: Here's the interesting bit. I sped through the menus and discovered that the RAID system was quite happy to create a RAID1 for me. I went back, deleted the RAID, and started over. The second time, I was able to reproduce the bug. The only difference between these two runs was that I remembered to flag both drives as bootable the second time. It seems that a bootable GPT partition is the problem; the RAID menu system doesn't seem to see it. It looks as if there's something wrong with the bootable flag code for gpt partitions, even without RAID. When I create a new partition I get: │ Partition settings: │ │ │ │ Name:│ │ Use as: Ext3 journaling file system│ │ │ │ Mount point: / │ │ Mount options:defaults │ │ Label:none │ │ Reserved blocks: 5% │ │ Typical usage:standard │ │ Bootable flag:off│ │ off │ Note the extra line with 'off' below the 'Bootable flag' line. That could be caused by bootable flag, but possibly also a different flag. Toggling Bootable flag does not work (it remains 'off'), but toggling the line below changes it from 'off' to 'on'. I think we should look into this first and see if it also fixes the reported issue with RAID. Reassigning to partman-base for now as this is likely a more general issue than just in partman-md. -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 severity 567208 serious thanks I decided to set a release critical severity for this bug because I think Gnucash without graphing support should not migrate to testing at this stage without discussion. If anybody wants this version into testing despite its broken graphing support, please contribute your arguments. It is easy and fast to lower this bug's severity at needs. I intend to fix this bug some time by uploading Gnucash 2.3.8, which upstream considers to be unstable. However in terms of maintenance for Squeeze it might be a better bet than the current 'stable' release 2.2.9. (And by chance we might get a new stable upstream release in time for Squeeze...) Bug#567640: bluez: init script fails trying to write to /sys/class/rfkill/rfkill1/state
Package: bluez Version: 4.60-1 Severity: important The bluez package fails to upgrade properly on my system, and would otherwise give problems when booting on some systems: Starting bluetooth:/etc/init.d/bluetooth: 199: cannot create /sys/class/rfkill/rfkill1/state: Directory nonexistent invoke-rc.d: initscript bluetooth, action start failed. The /etc/init.d/bluetooth script contains this line: echo 1 /sys/class/rfkill/rfkill1/state This fails if that file does not exist, for example if there is no rfkill function for a bluetooth device, or a bluetooth device is not plugged in when booting, or if the bluetooth rfkill switch has a different name than rfkill1. Also, there could be more than one bluetooth device, in which case not all of them are switched on, or another device (a wifi card for example) could use rfkill1, or maybe the user only wants to turn it on/off manually when necessary. In short, I think it's a bad idea to try to write to rfkill state files in the bluetooth init script. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32.1 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=nl_NL.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=nl_NL.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages bluez depends on: ii dbus 1.2.16-2simple interprocess messaging syst ii libbluetooth34.60-1 Library to use the BlueZ Linux Blu ii libc62.10.2-5Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.16-2simple interprocess messaging syst ii libglib2.0-0 2.22.4-1The GLib library of C routines ii libnl1 1.1-5 library for dealing with netlink s ii libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-14 userspace USB programming library ii lsb-base 3.2-23 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip ii makedev 2.3.1-89creates device files in /dev ii module-init-tools3.12~pre1-1 tools for managing Linux kernel mo ii udev 150-2 /dev/ and hotplug management daemo bluez recommends no packages. How about a recommend, according to the policy? xfonts-75dpi and -100dpi are part of the standard X installation (xorg metapackage); it's possible to uninstall them, but that should only be done if you're running a remote font server. Any X setup that doesn't provide those fonts is already broken. This is kind of personal taste. Xorg metapackage is not clean enough. Bug#567590: Reproducable
On Saturday 30 January 2010, Frans Pop wrote: │ Bootable flag: off │ │ off │ Note the extra line with 'off' below the 'Bootable flag' line. That could be caused by bootable flag, but possibly also a different flag. OK, that was possibly an unrelated issue. The second line was for the 'BIOS boot area flag' for which the description is not correctly displayed. I've committed a fix for that. Toggling Bootable flag does not work (it remains 'off'), but toggling the line below changes it from 'off' to 'on'. Toggling the bootable flag still does not have any effect. It should be supported: VALID_FLAGS in the partman log has: boot, hidden, raid, lvm, hp-service, msftres, bios_grub. I can see the flag is getting set correctly, but when libparted reads the current flags again, it's not there. Zacharay: is the problem really with the bootable flag, or rather with that 'BIOS boot area' (bios_grub) flag? It looks as if setting bios_grub may remove the raid flag. Could it be that a 'BIOS boot area' partition simply cannot be a RAID partition? That seems quite logical... To test with that display issue corrected, you need to make the following change in /lib/partman/active-partition/67toggle_biosgrub/choices before you run partman: -description=$(stralign -25 $RET) +description=$RET if [ $biosgrub = yes ]; then db_metaget partman-partitioning/text/on description - printf nobiosgrub\t%s%s\n $description ${RET} + printf nobiosgrub\t%s\${!TAB}%s\n $description ${RET} else db_metaget partman-partitioning/text/off description - printf biosgrub\t%s%s\n $description ${RET} + printf biosgrub\t%s\${!TAB}%s\n $description ${RET} fi I'll test a bit more myself too. Bug#567645: [acpi-support] Thinkpad T61 volume buttons don't work
Package: acpi-support Version: 0.132-1 Severity: normal --- Please enter the report below this line. --- Hi all. On my Thinkpad T61 the volume buttons don't work. I don't really know if this is the correct package to file the bug for, but I thought, since it is an acpi feature I'd try it here. When I run acpi_listen I get events form the buttons in this form: button/mute MUTE 0080 button/volumedown VOLDN 0080 button/volumeup VOLUP 0080 So the buttons are registered somewhere and just don't trigger volume changes. The event names correspond to the action the button should do. Where are those events processed normally? because they seem quite generic. Am I missing something? Some additional package? Package: sbuild Version: 0.59.1-1~buildd20100124.2 Hi, It seems that a failed binNMU that you try to give back, never gets given back. Hi Andreas! I am another root-tail user. I am currently running root-tail/1.2-3 on a Debian testing box, and I am *not* experiencing the bug you reported. ... Stephen, what do you think? Should this bug be downgraded to important? Could you please help Andreas in solving his problem? I think that a package that non-deterministically doesn't work probably doesn't belong in a stable release. I unfortunately don't have enough knowledge about the X api to make any good guesses as to what the problem might be. The fds that are being read from appear to me to be the usual communication with the X server, not reads from the logfiles (note that the logfiles have been stat()'ed but not yet opened). if root-tail is unable to communicate to the X server, I have no idea why. If Andreas has any additional information, that would be great - it might be something simple like a rebuild fixes it, or it might be something like a subtle bit of the X api has changed with X.org and root-tail won't be fixed until someone who understands X better than I do comes along, or I manage to find the time to finally dig into it enough to debug this. Bug#562606: FTBFS: unknown options to dh_ocaml
Jan Wagner wrote: On Friday, 29. January 2010, Mehdi Dogguy wrote: Jan Wagner wrote: I stumbled upon the same problem on backporting. From my point of view, user of you package don't have the track down the versioned build-dep of the packages. From my point of view, users should not backport packages. We didn't release dh_ocaml 0.9 for lenny, I'm pretty sure of that. Who should do backports in your eyes? Debian Developers? Maintainers? Nobody? Certainly, not users. And, let's make that clear: it's not in my eyes. Ask other DDs or DMs about this particular question if you want to have another opinion. At least, ask the usual maintainer for review before proposing a backport. Doing otherwise seems wrong to me (unless you are very confident with the code). Anyways ... you should provide correct (build-)dependencies, even if it would be better, if debhelper would provide a way to define such versioned dep for its own. We already provide correct build-dependencies. Here, the only missing thing is that our dh_ocaml uses features from debhleper 7.1.0. The package dh-ocaml do not contain only the dh_ocaml script and ocaml sequence, but also some other dev-tools. I see two solutions: - Make dh-ocaml depend on debhelper = 7.1.0 (the exact version that introduced the desired feature). But, I'm not really convinced that this is the right solution because we may use all what dh-ocaml ships but dh_ocaml. - Make dh-ocaml conflicts with debhelper 7.1.0. But this solution seems also wrong for the same reason I mentioned before. If you have a better/real solution, please share with us. If not, I will not accept any of the solutions I've mentioned because the problem arises *only* for the backport. This obviously could be annoying if an apt proxy cache is used to build the live system. eg. in auto/config --mirror-chroot http://localhost:3142/ftp.it.debian.org/debian/; --mirror-chroot-security http://localhost:3142/security.debian.org/; Ends in this sources.list file on the live system: deb http://localhost:3142/ftp.it.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main non-free -- Package-specific info: -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-trunk-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages live-helper depends on: ii debootstrap 1.0.20 Bootstrap a basic Debian system Versions of packages live-helper recommends: ii gettext-base 0.17-8 GNU Internationalization utilities Versions of packages live-helper suggests: ii dosfstools3.0.7-1utilities for making and checking ii genisoimage 9:1.1.10-1 Creates ISO-9660 CD-ROM filesystem pn memtest86+ | memtest86none (no description available) ii mtools4.0.10-1 Tools for manipulating MSDOS files pn partednone (no description available) pn squashfs-tools | genext2fs | none (no description available) ii sudo 1.7.2p1-1 Provide limited super user privile pn syslinux | grub none (no description available) pn uuid-runtime none (no description available) pn win32-loader none (no description available) -- no debconf information
Bug#567600: ghemical should depend on xfonts-75dpi
Am Samstag, den 30.01.2010, 21:12 +0900 schrieb hero...@gmail.com: Nicholas Breen nbr...@ofb.net writes: Packages must not depend on any fonts package[1], it's a serious policy violation. How about a recommend, according to the policy? Well, we would then have to recommend: xfonts-100dpi | xfonts-100dpi-transcoded | xfonts-75dpi | xfonts-75dpi-transcoded I'm not in favor of adding such Recommends, but ghemical indeed tries to init courier 12.
