Bug#784953: freespace2: fails to download fs2_ogg.zip
Hi, Both url works, but I guess they also both can't be deep-linked if freespacemods.net hasn't seen your IP addresse recently or something. Someone else with an IP not in cache must try wget http://www.freespacemods.net/e107_files/downloads/fs2_ogg.zip; to be sure. If both urls require that the website had been visited, this could be maybe worked around with wkhtmltopdf or lynx -dump /dev/null or something; but that would be considered abuse. I can't host such hug file myself either. I guess the only solution then is to disable the automatic upload and move the URL to the help text. Bug#784934: Cannot edit same tag of two songs when it is only present in one
Package: quodlibet Version: 3.4.0-1 Severity: normal This used to work fine in quodlibet 3.2.2-1 (in Jessie), but broke in Stretch: Example: I have two songs of the same artist. One is already tagged correctly, the other one does not yet have an artist tag. In quodlibet 3.2.2-1 I could mark both songs in the tag editor and double click where it says Theartist (missing from 1 song) and then save. The artist of one song was copied easily to the second one. This does not work anymore in 3.4.0-1, which makes mass tag edits cumbersome. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages quodlibet depends on: ii exfalso 3.4.0-1 ii gir1.2-gst-plugins-base-1.0 1.4.4-2 ii gir1.2-gstreamer-1.01.4.4-2 ii gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad [gstreamer1.0-audiosink] 1.4.4-2.1+b1 ii gstreamer1.0-plugins-base 1.4.4-2 ii gstreamer1.0-plugins-good [gstreamer1.0-audiosink] 1.4.4-2 ii gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly 1.4.4-2+b1 ii gstreamer1.0-pulseaudio [gstreamer1.0-audiosink]1.4.4-2 ii python 2.7.9-1 Versions of packages quodlibet recommends: ii gir1.2-gtksource-3.0 3.14.1-1 ii gir1.2-keybinder-3.0 0.3.0-1 ii libgpod4 0.8.3-1.1+b1 ii media-player-info22-2 ii notification-daemon 0.7.6-2 ii python-dbus 1.2.0-2+b3 ii python-feedparser5.1.3-3 ii python-pyinotify 0.9.5-1 ii udisks 1.0.5-1+b1 ii udisks2 2.1.5-3 ii xfce4-notifyd [notification-daemon] 0.2.4-3 Versions of packages quodlibet suggests: ii gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad 1.4.4-2.1+b1 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. For starters I think r-base-api-3.0 is a misnomer. R is currently at release 3.2. And all versions of R 3.* use the same API as this release once again showed. So maybe r-api-3 ? Fine. | As has been explained repeatedly in these bug reports, this is | (a) very easy to do | (b) recommended practice, having been done in several other similar | situations with other packages | (c) not going to cause any detrimental effects | | We are early enough in the stretch release cycle that any issues (not | that there are likely to be any) will be able to be ironed out. So if you or someone else wants to drive this this, send me (ideally also somewhat tested) patches. There is a tested patch from Charles Plessy in the first report on this bug: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=704805 Attached is a cleaned patch which achieves the same, but will be more robust if the api version changes (I've tweaked the regex slightly). It seems to work on my system - tested. The only thing I'm not sure about, and you may have a better view, is whether r-cran packages should depend only on the api version (so: Depends: r-api-3), or whether they should also depend upon the actual base version (Depends: r-base-core (= 3.2.0-2)). The attached patch causes r-cran-* packages to *only* depend on r-api-3; if r-cran-* packages should *also* depend on a versioned r-base-core, then in the patch, reinstate the rversion line, and combine the two R:Depends lines (the old and the new) into a single line. Bug#778942: [RFC PATCH] kbuild: Enable Large File Support for hostprogs
Some programs built on a 32-bit host need Large File Support (LFS). I confirmed that reverting this commit on top of v3.16 indeed fixes the issue. I just tested the v4.1-rc2 kernel to confirm that the issue is still present. Bug#784810: [Pkg-xen-devel] Bug#784810: Xen domU try ton access to dom0 LVM Volume group
Hi Ian, Ian Campbell wrote: @xen-tools: I think this is because xen-tools has used the host initramfs and hence has inherited some sort of hook script which insists on the RAID stuff being present, which there isn't in the domU. Sounds familiar. I think I saw that one some of my DomUs, too. I'm not sure if you would consider this a bug in xen-tools or by design. I'm not 100% sure and need to investigate the details, but there's a chance that this only happens if --pygrub is not used. Then again, even in that case the initramfs is built initially on the Dom0. Without --pygrub the initramfs of the Dom0 is used by default and hence shows according messages anyways. But that's rather by design. You may wish to reassign this on to the initramfs generator tool and/or raid packages providing the hooks. That may be one way to solve the issue, too. But I'll hcekc first if I can solve that in xen-tools. Bug#784906: apt does not need to repeatedly re-download package file information when switching between apt servers
Package: apt Version: 1.0.9.8 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer, I noticed that if I switch servers, apt goes ahead and re-downloads the package file information from scratch, completely ignoring the already existing file. But usually these files are similar, if not identical. Also, as of the just released jessie, these files are increasingly significant in size, currently of the order of 20 MB. As described in the IRC snippet below, one possibiliy would be to check hashes of files, and if they are identical, then hardlink to an existing file. ### Snipper from #debian-apt follow: faheem I'm sure I'm not saying anything that others haven't thought of before, but I noticed (not for the first time) that apt downloads the same package information from every mirror, even though each mirror has probably similar if not identical information. Can this step not be reduced or skipped? mvo faheem: that is a interessting idea, we know what hashes to expect and we could simply hardlink a existing identical file if the hash is the same -- Package-specific info: -- apt-config dump -- APT ; APT::Architecture amd64; APT::Build-Essential ; APT::Build-Essential:: build-essential; APT::Install-Recommends 1; APT::Install-Suggests 0; APT::Authentication ; APT::Authentication::TrustCDROM true; APT::NeverAutoRemove ; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^firmware-linux.*; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-firmware$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-image-3\.16\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-image-3\.2\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-headers-3\.16\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-headers-3\.2\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-image-extra-3\.16\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-image-extra-3\.2\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-signed-image-3\.16\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-signed-image-3\.2\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^kfreebsd-image-3\.16\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^kfreebsd-image-3\.2\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^kfreebsd-headers-3\.16\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^kfreebsd-headers-3\.2\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^gnumach-image-3\.16\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^gnumach-image-3\.2\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^.*-modules-3\.16\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^.*-modules-3\.2\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^.*-kernel-3\.16\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^.*-kernel-3\.2\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-backports-modules-.*-3\.16\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-backports-modules-.*-3\.2\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-tools-3\.16\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^linux-tools-3\.2\.0-4-amd64$; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: ^postgresql-; APT::VersionedKernelPackages ; APT::VersionedKernelPackages:: linux-image; APT::VersionedKernelPackages:: linux-headers; APT::VersionedKernelPackages:: linux-image-extra; APT::VersionedKernelPackages:: linux-signed-image; APT::VersionedKernelPackages:: kfreebsd-image; APT::VersionedKernelPackages:: kfreebsd-headers; APT::VersionedKernelPackages:: gnumach-image; APT::VersionedKernelPackages:: .*-modules; APT::VersionedKernelPackages:: .*-kernel; APT::VersionedKernelPackages:: linux-backports-modules-.*; APT::VersionedKernelPackages:: linux-tools; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections ; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: metapackages; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: restricted/metapackages; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: universe/metapackages; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: multiverse/metapackages; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: oldlibs; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: restricted/oldlibs; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: universe/oldlibs; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: multiverse/oldlibs; APT::Update ; APT::Update::Post-Invoke-Success ; APT::Update::Post-Invoke-Success:: test -x /usr/bin/apt-show-versions || exit 0 ; apt-show-versions -i; APT::Update::Post-Invoke-Success:: [ ! -f /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket ] || /usr/bin/dbus-send --system --dest=org.debian.apt --type=signal /org/debian/apt org.debian.apt.CacheChanged || true; APT::Update::Post-Invoke-Success:: /usr/bin/test -e /usr/share/dbus-1/system-services/org.freedesktop.PackageKit.service /usr/bin/test -S /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket /usr/bin/gdbus call --system --dest org.freedesktop.PackageKit --object-path /org/freedesktop/PackageKit --timeout 4 --method org.freedesktop.PackageKit.StateHasChanged cache-update /dev/null; /bin/echo /dev/null; APT::Update::Post-Invoke ; APT::Update::Post-Invoke:: [ ! -x /usr/bin/debtags ] || debtags update || true; APT::Periodic ; APT::Periodic::Unattended-Upgrade 1; APT::Get ; APT::Get::Build-Dep-Automatic true; APT::Architectures ; APT::Architectures:: amd64; APT::Architectures:: i386; APT::Compressor ; APT::Compressor::. ; APT::Compressor::.::Name .; APT::Compressor::.::Extension ; APT::Compressor::.::Binary ; APT::Compressor::.::Cost 1; APT::Compressor::gzip ;
Bug#784905: jessie-pu: (preapproval) package qcontrol/0.5.4-1
Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal Tags: jessie User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: pu I'd like to fix #781886 qcontrol failure to start on boot sometimes (jessie, systemd?) in Jessie. The issue is that when running in LSB compat mode the devices may not have been created before the initscript runs. This isn't noticed under sysvinit because there is an implicit (or perhaps explicit) udev settle somewhere earlier on. However the proper fix (enabling full systemd support) is IMHO too intrusive for a stable update (see below for the full patch in case you disagree). So instead I would like to upload a workaround: diff --git a/debian/qcontrol.qcontrold.init b/debian/qcontrol.qcontrold.init index ccbcb22..55bd5a1 100644 --- a/debian/qcontrol.qcontrold.init +++ b/debian/qcontrol.qcontrold.init @@ -38,6 +38,11 @@ set -e case $1 in start) + # Ensure that /dev/input/by-path/platform-gpio-keys-event has + # arrived. How does that sound? Cheers, Ian. Bug#784888: didjvu: insecure use of /tmp when executing c44
Package: didjvu Tags: security upstream fixed-upstream Forwarded: https://bitbucket.org/jwilk/didjvu/issue/8 To create an IW44 layer, didjvu: * creates a unique temporary file directly in /tmp (or in $TMPDIR) * passes name of this file to c44(1) as the output file name Unfortunately, c44 deletes the output file, and then creates a new one under the same name (without O_EXCL). This opens a race window, during which malicious local user could create their own file under this name. Bug#784890: flashybrid: Unable to Sync ramstore directories ...
Package: flashybrid Version: 0.18 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, i hav an fresh jessie installation on an Alix Board (alix 2d13) with an CF Card. I tried flashybrid for the first time and was unable to sync ramstore directiories to real CF Location. fh-sync run reports the following errors: root@indoor01:~# fh-sync Syncing flashybrid system... Synchronizing /var/lib/exim4mount: /ram/var/lib/exim4.flash is busy . Synchronizing /var/logmount: /ram/var/log.flash is busy . Synchronizing /var/runmount: /ram/var/run.flash is busy . Synchronizing /rootmount: /ram/root.flash is busy . Synchronizing /var/spoolmount: /ram/var/spool.flash is busy . Synchronizing /var/mailmount: /ram/var/mail.flash is busy . done. I tried different things but can't get an sync to the real CF flash disk. I removed /etc from ramstore to be able to deactivate flashybrid in a normal way (mountrw - systemctl disable flashybrid - reboot). And i changed the max RAMDISK space ... I think the problem is, that all ramstore directories get bind mounted twice and the upper layer is an bind mount to an tmpfs in rw ... i think all syncs will be done in the tmpfs place and not in the underlying CF Disk. If i add on fh-sync remount command an ,bind, i get no error upon running fh-sync but the syncronisation isn't reached at CF Disk level. Maybe there is an change in the FS and Bind Mount behaviour with the jessie kernel/system? If i can help in investigation of the problem, please contact me. Bug#701506: Status of osrm

Are you remaining interested in maintaining the osrm package? My problem was that it is not injected in Debian GIS Vcs (even if the debian/control file is claiming that this is the case. Please ping the list if you are remain interested and I will sponsor the package for you (without the detour via mentors.d.n). The above questions by Andreas remains, are you still interested in maintaining the osrm package? Yes, I am still interested in maintaining osrm. I took the liberty to update the package with the latest upstream release, and it pretty much ready for upload. Do you have anything you'd like to add? Thanks for updating the package. I have just pushed some minor fixes/improvements to the man pages. I would like to test the package, and check the documentation (also comparing with the upstream versions). But that will probably have to wait a few weeks, as I am busy with exams at the moment. Feel free to upload it now if you want to though. signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature
