Bug#798209: ITP: markdown-mode -- mode for editing Markdown-formatted text files in GNU Emacs.

2015-09-06 Thread David Bremner
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: David Bremner

  Package name: markdown-mode
  Version : 2.0snapshot78
Upstream Author : Jason R. Blevins
  URL : http://jblevins.org/git/markdown-mode.git
  License : GPL-2+
  Programming Lang: emacs-lisp
Description : mode for editing Markdown-formatted text files in GNU Emacs.

The mode provides syntax highlighted, and keyboard shortcuts for
 editing, compiling and previewing markdown.

This package will be maintained by the nascent Emacs Addons packaging
team.

There is currently an old version of this package in emacs-goodies-el,
but I think it's substantial enough to stand on it's own as a package.
If/when this package is uploaded, I'll file a bug suggesting it be
removed from the bundle. There are also substantial maintainer and
user advantages to having a standalone package. Because of the way
this is packaged (using dh-elpa), there will not be file conflicts
with the bundled version.

preliminary packaging is available via

 git clone git://anonscm.debian.org/git/pkg-emacsen/pkg/markdown-mode.git

This is still the status. Over 40 days has already passed of waiting
for mysql-5.6.

Andreas: are you still into making mysql-common a separate source
package as you suggested in the summer? I think it would be a good
time now.

Bug#797536: xiphos: Unable to add annotation in GNOME

2015-09-06 Thread David McMackins
I'd like to make a revision. After further inspection, I discovered the
text box actually does exist, but it is very thin, not even tall enough
for a whole character to be visible.

It's a cosmetic issue, but it does make it difficult to insert an
annotation and nearly impossible to edit one.

Bug#798214: openjdk-7-jre: atk bridge causes segfault starting freemind with gtk look and feel

2015-09-06 Thread Ben Caradoc-Davies
Package: openjdk-7-jre
Version: 7u85-2.6.1-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

the jvm segfaults starting freemind if and only if look and feel is set to gtk.
The same thing happened in 7u85-2.6.1-2 but not versions from a few months ago.
I am blaming the atk bridge. Please disable the atk bridge for openjdk-7 and
openjdk-8 as it is *not* fixed as suggested in the changelogs.

I have a strong suspicion that this is the same bug as #798131 for
openjdk-8-jre but for openjdk-7-jre the failure is a segfault and is
reproducible every time. If you can tell me how to disable the atk bridge I can
test it for openjdk-8-jre as well.

The stack trace includes this smoking gun:
[libatk-wrapper.so+0x4901] jni_threads_lock+0x32

You can turn the crash on and off in ~/.freemind/auto.properties with:

Segfault:
lookandfeel=gtk

Normal behaviour:
lookandfeel=metal

(Start freemind once to create the properties file if you do not have one.)

See the fatal error report below. I will attach hs_err_pid1978.log.

Kind regards,
Ben.

I'm not entirely happy with this proposal. The point is to avoid
"your", as we always do, on the rationale that the peson installing
packages is not always the machine's owner.

Still, I find that my proposal is clumsy and I feel like Justin will
be able to propose seomthing better..:-)

Running it in the console, I get the following output, where it crashes on the
last two lines:

I have tried moving ~/.mozilla/firefox and the same issue occurs.

I tried installing iceweasel-dbg and running it through gdb, but when I try to
get a backtrace, I get no stack.

Bug#795940: vcr.py: FTBFS: Build requires internet access ("gaierror: [Errno -2] Name or service not known")

2015-09-06 Thread Daniel Stender
Upstream plans to run the tests completely on pytest-httpbin, which provides a
locally running
instance of httpbin [1]. There are already some steps towards this in the
pytest-httpbin branch [2].

I'm working on pytest-httpbin [3] and httpbin [4] to make them available. When
they are becoming, either upstream
made this feature available or maybe some patch work would be necessary.

I'm on it.

(0.10.31-3+nmu4+b2) solves the issue. pidgin can be installed (and works) just
fine.

Bug#798110: krb5-kdc: krb5kdc does not bind to IPv6 address on startup

2015-09-06 Thread Benjamin Kaduk
On Sat, 5 Sep 2015, Kevin Otte wrote:

> krb5kdc fails to bind to the IPv6 addresses on the system at startup.
> Workaround is a manual service restart on every boot.

It seems that this is fallout from systemd's ideas about starting up the
network, since the KDC just loops over the available interfaces once at
startup, as befits a service intended to be deployed on a dedicated server
in a controlled network.

It looks like the krb5-kdc unit implicitly depends on network.target, but
not network-online.target. The documentation for network-online.target is
unclear about whether it will wait for the v6 addresses to be up or just
continue once there's a single routable address, v4 or v6, but it's
probably worth trying.

I think the easiest way to do so would be to add a file
/etc/systemd/system/krb5-kdc.d/networkd-online.conf

with the contents:
[Unit]
After=network-online.target

If that helps, we should probably add the network-online.target dependency
to the distributed krb5-kdc.service.

Thanks,

Ben Kaduk

Bug#499795: HylaFAX+

2015-09-06 Thread Chris Coleman

package: hylafax-server
severity: serious (Chris intends to upgrade it from wishlist to serious,
for reasons, see below)

Giuseppe, Remi, Phillipp,
I'm writing you about this excellent Bug that Phillip Kempgen filed in
2008, why isn't HylaFAX+ included in debian?
Giuseppe you had question about what makes HylaFAX+ so much better, and
I've got the answers for you...
Short version: I nominate you Giuseppe to make HylaFAX+ 5.5.6 available
as a deb package in the main debian repo.

Long version:
The most recent version 5.5.6 was released April 2015, existing since
2005 as free open source code available on sourceforce.
HylaFAX+ has more up to date features, performance improvements, and
bugs fixes than the Hylafax 6.0.6 (released 2012) that you currently offer.
The projects are probably 95% similar, they forked in 2005, but in 2012
Hylafax got into a leapfrog race on version numbers vs Hylafax+ 5.5.6.

HylaFAX+ is superior because of many enhancements and bug fixes.
For example it solves a longstanding issue of incompatibility with color
and grayscale faxes. It produces compatible tiff and pdf pages, while
Hylafax 6.0.6 can't (due to a complicated bug about ITULab colorspace
unable to be understood/converted by libtiff and libjpeg, and those 2
package developers despite receiving patches, unable to change their
code without causing breakage elsewhere, thus forcing a manual patch and
recompile from source of not only libtiff and libjpeg but also of many
other dependent packages on the system, which is totally
ridiculous/unfeasible, and this has been stuck that way in hylafax for
about ten years since 2005.).
HylaFAX+ solved this bug by enlisting LittleCMS developer Marti Maria to
solve this problem without the image degradation from having to
decompress and re-compress the jpeg image of the page.

Everyone who is aware of the two packages, installs Hylafax+.
You should at least offer both Hylafax, and Hylafax+, packages, and let
either be installed, obviously marked as conflicts with the other one,
as you'd mentioned.
As promised, here is a page with the list of bugfixes and performance
improvements that HylaFAX+ has over HylaFAX:

http://hylafax.sourceforge.net/docs/hylafax-differences.php

 * 1. support for sending and receiving color faxes (without patching
   libraries)

 * 2. simplified default faxrcvd, notify, and pollrcvd scripts for
   easier customization

 * 3. faxq batching support was not needlessly rewritten and includes
   greater protection against resource overutilization

 * 4. extended presentation of CallID

 * 5. intelligent real-time format compression conversion (RTFCC)

 * 6. ModemSetOriginCmd, ModemDialCmd, FAXNAME job parameter, and -e
"name" and -u "number" sendfax options

 * 7. enhanced and improved fax image preparation

 * 8. numerous faxmail enhancements

 * 9. etc/FaxAccounting reliable event hook, particularly for adding
   xferfaxlog data to a database

 * 10. xferfaxlog extensions (SUBMIT records and jobinfo field)

 * 11. inbound faxes can be configured to utilize info files for
   automated fax parameters configuration

 * 12. support for taglines using UTF-8 fonts

 * 13. More feature support (i.e. JBIG, JPEG) in the Class 2/2.0/2.1
   driver

 * 14. StaggerCalls feature for faxq

 * 15. place non-ready ModemReadyState onto modem status string and add
   "exempt" option

 * 16. direct LDAP authentication support (without PAM)

 * 17. -nointeractive option for faxsetup and faxaddmodem (like
   configure)

 * 18. no JobControlWait option

Bug#789690: atop process ends up in cron.service's cgroup

2015-09-06 Thread Alexandre Detiste
> Sam Morris
> But more annoyingly, restarting cron results in atop being killed!

This was another bug, that even got fixed in stable:

 cron (3.0pl1-127+deb8u1) jessie; urgency=medium
 .
   * d/cron.service: Use KillMode=process to kill only the daemon.
The default of KillMode=control-group kills all the processes in the
control
group, for example when restarting the daemon. This is a deviation from
past
behavior we do not want. Closes: #783683

Every little thing started from cron will end up in cron.service's cgroup.

To avoid that you'd need:
- a proper atop.timer that calls a new atop.service
- some logic in the crontab to make it a no-op if systemd is installed & running

 # start atop daily at midnight
-0 0 * * * root invoke-rc.d atop _cron
+0 0 * * * root test -e /run/systemd || invoke-rc.d atop _cron

Bug#798110: krb5-kdc: krb5kdc does not bind to IPv6 address on startup

2015-09-06 Thread Greg Hudson
This ought to work, but there might be something going wrong with
routing socket updates.

Because krb5kdc implements a UDP service, it needs to either use
IPv4/IPv6 pktinfo support, or bind to specific interfaces instead of the
wildcard address, in order to send replies from the same address as it
received requests to. Because Linux distributions require _GNU_SOURCE
to be defined for IPv6 pktinfo support (unlike every non-Linux
platform), and we don't define _GNU_SOURCE as part of our build before
krb5 1.13 because it changes the behavior of strerror_r() to be
non-POSIX, krb5 1.12.x doesn't use IPv6 pktinfo; instead it iterates
over the configured interfaces and binds to them specifically (omitting
the loopback interface, for dumb reasons).

We also bind to the routing socket, which is supposed to notify us when
network interfaces change. We bind to the routing socket before
iterating over the local addresses, so I don't see any potential for a
race condition there. So either something is going wrong with our code
to do that, or (less likely but not inconceivably) the kernel isn't
doing its job.

Bug#607118: aptitude: after 'q' is cancelled with ctrl-q, it doesn't work again

Control: notfound -1 0.7.1-1

Hello Andrew,

2010-12-14 20:22 Andrew Pimlott:

Package: aptitude
Version: 0.6.3-3.2
Severity: minor

Start aptitude. Hit 'q', and the dialog "Really quit Aptitude? [n]y"
appears. Hit to cancel, and the dialog is dismissed. Hit 'q'
again, and nothing happens.

(note: title says Ctrl-q, not Ctrl-g)

I cannot reproduce this with 0.7.1-1, and looking through the changelog
(not very in-depth, though) I cannot see anything that could have fixed
that.

Unless it is a difference between i386 and amd64 systems, I wonder if it
was just a temporary glitch, or if it was fixed in some way.

Cheers.

Since this is not a new problem for this upload, it shouldn't be marked

You are running OpenConnect from the unstable release on a stable
system. And you are also running the stable version of NetworkManager
(0.9.10.0).

Can you reproduce when NetworkManager is *not* running at all? Can you
try with NetworkManager 1.0.6 in unstable?

Hi Michael,

I ran it with auth and it was working, but I found an issue running
without auth. It's a very trivial case of NULL-pointer dereference if
the auth config parameter is not set. I've sent a PR upstream [1], and
attached a quilt patch to fix it. With this patch and 2 simple python
scripts I verified that both PUB/SUB and PULL/PUSH work without auth.

I'm happy to provide assistance as best as I can as the maintainer of
CZMQ, but I must say I am not a Rsyslog expert :-)

Kind regards,
Luca Boccassi

Dear maintainer,

Please recommend "cron | cron-daemon" instead of
simply cron, this helps one to use alternative cron
implementations like systemd-cron or bcron-run.

Greets,

Bug#644019: reglookup: Please package latest upstream (1.0.1)

2015-09-06 Thread Raphael Hertzog
Hello Tim,

sorry for the delay of my answer but August was DebConf and vacation...

On Fri, 07 Aug 2015, Tim wrote:

So we tried to update the package but failed rather miserably:
- first your version number generator is broken since it tries to embed a
SVN revision number that no longer exists now that you migrated on
GitHub (we worked around that by dropping that part of the version)
- then the package fails to build for us with "scons" 3.6 that is present
in unstable... somehow it tries to install the library in the target
where we are trying to build it. I did not understand why...

I stopped at that point and could not review how the result would
have looked.

We also noticed that the GitHub is a not very useful import of the SVN
repository... it's not possible to use git archive to export a copy of
reglookup because the repository contains more than this and the reglookup
source code is one level deeper (in trunk).

Sure, that's possible.

Bug#796188: cron-apt: No email reports

2015-09-06 Thread Ola Lundqvist
Hi

Sorry for late reply but I think I understand what is wrong now.

I checked the code and could not find the reason why it would go wrong. So
I had a look at your first mail and I see that you have placed this data in
the wrong file.

You have placed it in /etc/cron-apt/config.d/config
This file is only triggered for an action named "config".

This is documented in the README file.

It is also possible to add extra configuration for each action (same syntax
as
/etc/cron-apt/config) by naming the file
/etc/cron-apt/config.d/.
The configuration from one action is kept to the next action as well.

You need to put it in /etc/cron-apt/config instead.

I'm closing this bug now.

Best regards,

// Ola

Package: fonts-pecita
Version: 5.2
Severity: wishlist

Dear Debian Fonts Task Force,

I just released version 5.2. Please feel free to package it for
Debian.

The files are here : http://pecita.eu/b

*Version*
Version 5.2 - Mon 2015-09-07 - of the font Pecita

*Make*
The script compile.pe invokes FontForge to build Pecita.otf from
PecitaSource.sfd.
The build process is based on the ExpandStroke function that is, for now,
unusable with fontforge > 20120731.

*Title*
OpenType hand-written font whose letters are connected

*Description*
Pecita is a hand-written font that give a natural rendition.
It includes all of the full Language support for Afrikaans, Archaic Greek
Letters, Baltic, Basic Cyrillic, Basic Greek, Basic Latin, Catalan, Central
European, Chess Symbols, Dutch, Euro, Hebbar Tamil, Igbo Onwu, IPA, Latin
Ligatures, Mathematical Operators, Pan African Latin, Pinyin, Polytonic
Greek,
Romanian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Western European.
It implements the OpenType features "Localized form substitution,
Superscript ,
Subscript, Small capitals, Standard ligatures, Glyph decomposition and
Contextual alternates".

*New possibilities in Version 5*
The previous version 4 generalized the connection mechanism of letters. This
version 5 generalizes the accent mechanism of letters in keeping the
connection
mechanism. This allows the font to be used across the spectrum of LCG
scripts
and in transliterations of tonal languages that make extensive use of
diacritical and IPA characters.

I confirm that running both simultaneously is OK if they don't manage
the same interface. In my case, I use ifupdown for eth0, and wicd for
WiFi connections. In the wicd preferences, the "Wired interface" field
is blank to make sure that wicd won't do anything concerning eth0:

  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=557156#22

I've doing that for more than 3 years (on two different laptops) and
everything has always been fine with this setting.

No worries, I've uploaded as is. :)

IMHO there are two different things:

* cleaning source tree from generated files before build to compensate for
lack of upstream "make clean"

and

* adding required file to build directory.

If you prefer to remove file from "rules" then instead of "debian/clean" file
you can use

override_dh_clean:
dh_clean table.go

Sometimes I do that when I want to keep things in "rules" file.

Hello!

Please consider removing the steadyflow package since it's
been abandoned for a long time, is RC-buggy, not part of testing,
only part of stable because of my previous NMU. I'm not keen on
investing more of my time to keep it on life-support

It has no reverse dependencies.
The popcon number is probably because of liferea recommending it.

Hm, do you want wicd on any interface at all? If you want wicd to manage
only the wireless, then you shouldn't have the wlan0 stanza in
/etc/network/interfaces.

In general, you can use both simultaneously, but not on the same
interface. But until this bug is fixed, I think you should try using
either wicd alone or ifupdown alone. If you want to use wicd, then you
don't have to remove the ifupdown package, but just remove the eth0 and
wlan0 stanzas.

While investigating why gnugk, gnuift and opennebula have Build-Depends
on libmysql++-dev but no Depends on libmysql++3, I noticed that gnugk
is built with "silent rules":

[CC] singleton.cxx
Processing file manual.sgml
[CC] job.cxx
make[3]: Leaving directory '/«PKGBUILDDIR»/docs/manual'
[CC] yasocket.cxx
[CC] h323util.cxx

This makes it impossible to get useful QA information from buildd
logs such as:

Please make the log show compiler command-lines. For CMake projects,
you can usually do this by passing -DCMAKE_VERBOSE_MAKEFILE=TRUE
to cmake (or by passing that to dh_auto_configure after the "--" token),
or by passing VERBOSE=1 to make.

but during installation we don't have an X session, and dbus tells me

Error: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply

In the gconf/gsettings case we could go around this kind of issue by
rather leaving a schema file in an appropriate place. Is there this kind

This will trim debcheck repport and may
help to find real problems.

Greets & thanks again for adding cron-daemon back then !

Great. :)

Please excuse me for being pedantic, but let's make few changes before upload
please.

1) Please restore patch headers. It is important to know what patch is for,
who did it (and when) as well as "Forwarded" status which probably would be
"not-needed" in this case.

2) In "rules"

  cp $(SOURCE)/table.txt _build/src/github.com/rainycape/unidecode/table.txt

seems too complicated -- it will be easier to write

  cp -v table.txt _build/src/$(DH_GOPKG)/

If you want full path you can use

  cp -v $(CURDIR)/table.txt _build/src/$(DH_GOPKG)/

If you choose to use my suggestion you can also drop useless "TMP" and
"SOURCE" variables.

Also I prefer to use "$(RM) -v" instead of "rm" for verbosity (but you don't
have to do that). Verbose "cp" and "rm" are useful because they make custom
logic more visible in build logs.

I've realised we can make it even simpler. :)

What if we remove

rm --verbose _build/src/github.com/rainycape/unidecode/table.go

and replace it with "debian/clean" files with "table.go" (without quotes) in
it? It is simpler because "table.go" will be removed by `dh_clean` hence it
won't be copied to build directory therefore we will not need to remove it
from there. I like it more because it is better to drop pre-generated files
from source tree (`make clean` style) before build to make sure they are not
used at all.

This is my last packaging concern and I'm ready to upload. Please let me know
what do you think about this last minute improvement idea.

Ah, right, sorry yes that to me seems to be proper Maildir++,

Exactly. :)

Ok, so I tried your recipe, and didn't fully work for me, and ended
up having a look, because had already spent enough time again messing
with the config file that it was getting a bit frustrating.

Here's a couple of patches I prepared that seem to do what I'd expect,
and I've been running with those from git master [C], but only with
«Sync Pull» for now. The first adds quite some verbosity to be able to
see what's actually going on, the second "fixes" the Maildir++ support
for me. Once I've tested it more, I'll probably be preparing local
packages with the patches.

Bug#798211: apt-mark apparently conflicts with apt-get update; guess: missing lock

2015-09-06 Thread Jürgen A . Erhard
Package: apt
Version: 1.0.9.10
Severity: important

Running apt-mark while an apt-get update was running concurrently, I
got this:

E: Problem renaming the file /var/cache/apt/pkgcache.bin.uuCnyh to
/var/cache/apt/pkgcache.bin - rename (2: No such file or directory)
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems

Looks to me like either or both don't acquire a necessary lock.

Bug#798216: python-afl: #DEBHELPER# after exit

2015-09-06 Thread Jakub Wilk

Source: python-afl
Version: 0.5-1

debian/*.{prerm,postinst} contain this:

exit 0
#DEBHELPER#

But that means the code generated by debhelper will be never executed,
because the script will exit beforehand.

I'd remove the "exit 0" line.

Bug#798219: privoxy: Please add debconf support for setting listen-address

2015-09-06 Thread James Valleroy
Package: privoxy
Version: 3.0.23-3
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

Dear Maintainer,

Please consider adding debconf support to privoxy, specifically for
setting the listen-address. This change is needed for FreedomBox to
offer smooth upgrades to our users.

The attached patch does this as follows:
1. The config shipped with privoxy is installed under /usr/share/privoxy
instead of /etc/privoxy.
2. Debconf can ask for listen-address, with localhost:8118 as the
default. The question priority is medium, so it won't be shown to those
with the default debconf settings.
3. ucf is used to merge config updates during upgrades.

Some more background on why this is needed:
FreedomBox (through its user interface, plinth) can install privoxy and
configure it to be available to client devices on the LAN (by setting
listen-address). But currently, our changes to /etc/privoxy/config make
it difficult to upgrade privoxy, because it will ask which config file
to keep. If plinth can configure privoxy solely through debconf, then
upgrades can be done without prompting (via unattended-upgrades), and
our users can also receive any updates that are made to the packaged config.

It seems this is back: libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg contains no i965_dri.so

Bug#798131: openjdk-8-jre: freemind usually crashes or hangs at startup with gtk look and feel

2015-09-06 Thread Ben Caradoc-Davies
See also #798214 (openjdk-7-jre: atk bridge causes segfault starting
freemind with gtk look and feel) which I have reported separately
because the failure is different (segfault) and it can be reproduced
every time. The stack track evidence implicates atk.

Apologies for the duplicate report but I do not know of any way to
report a bug for both openjdk-7 and openjdk-8. As noted above, the
symptoms and reproducibility differ as well.

Kind regards,

Bug#770369: Eterm is also broken for me

2015-09-06 Thread S Andreason

I have the same problem,
OS is Debian Jessie, added the Eterm package, same version number 0.9.6-1
starting Eterm has not only a blank window, but the process runs the cpu
at 100%, and won't stop even after clicking the close button on the window.

I must manually kill the process to stop it.
My Debian Jessie is up to date, apt-get update today 2015.Sep.06
This bug is over half a year old with no solutions given.
Status please?

What earlier version can I roll back to, to fix this?

Bug#798221: gnugk: build logs do not show compiler command-line

2015-09-06 Thread Jan Willamowius
Hi,

the silent build is cause by the Makefile of PTLib that H323Plus and in
turn GnuGk includes.

You can make the build show the command line if update the build script
to call "VERBOSE=1 make" instead of make.

Also, GnuGk doesn't use a C++ Mysql lib. It only uses the C
client header.

Actually, the gnugk executable doesn't depend on any of the database
libraries: The headers are needed in the compile, but the libraries are
loaded dynamically at runtime, so one doesn't need to install all
database libraries, just the one the user wants to use.

Jan

Bug#798223: Enable CZMQ plugins

Package: rsyslog
Version: 8.12.0-1
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

Dear Maintainers,

Please consider enabling the libczmq in/out plugins. A git format-patch
that creates a new rsyslog-czmq package is attached. I tested it
building 8.12.0-1 in a Sid chroot for i386 and amd64, and it builds and
runs fine.

Thank you!

Kind regards,

Bug#794627: Bug still present with MATE desktop

2015-09-06 Thread Raphaël Halimi
Control: reopen -1 !
Control: thanks

Hi,

The bug is still present on my setup (MATE desktop).

MATE can use gnome-keyring (mate-desktop-environment-extras recommends
gnome-keyring, which depends on pinentry-gnome3, which has the highest
priority and thus is automatically selected as default pinentry
program), but it seems that something goes wrong inside the chain.

Upgrading gnupg-agent to 2.1.7-2, broke my enigmail setup.

These solutions worked for me (on an up-to-date sid):

- restart gpg-agent manually after session start (eg. open a terminal
and "killall gpg-agent && gpg-agent --daemon")

OR

- reconfigure pinentry alternative to select /usr/bin/pinentry-gtk-2
instead of /usr/bin/pinentry-gnome3 as default pinentry program

OR

- downgrade to 2.0.x gnupg2/gpg-agent

Neither of these solutions are satisfying; restarting gpg-agent
manually after each session login is a bit tedious; and using
pinentry-gtk-2 instead of pinentry-gnome3 somehow seems to bypass
gnome-keyring, since it's supposed to automatically open my keyring when
the session starts, whereas Icedove still asks for my passphrase the
first time my GPG key is used during the session, which is also a bit
tedious (unlike other apps, like git-buildpackage for example; that's
why I'm reopening the bug, it seems specific to enigmail).

Regards,

Bug#798026: RFS: golang-github-gosimple-slug

2015-09-06 Thread Alexandre Viau
Hello Dimitry,

Can you please review golang-github-gosimple-slug?

This is a dependency for grafana.

It is available on Alioth:
 - git.debian.org:/git/pkg-go/packages/golang-github-gosimple-slug

To build it, you're going to need golang-github-go-xorm-core, which is
in NEW at the moment, and which you have uploaded for me.

You should be able to install it on your machine and build the package.

I was told that uploading packages with un-ACCEPT-ed dependencies is
fine. The FTP team is expected to handle this.

That is an old list - more than a few years old now. During these years
the list has only grown even more. Consider this one simple feature in
HylaFAX+: the ability for faxq to relay (or "proxy") jobs to other
HylaFAX servers treating those other servers as "virtual modems" of a
sort. Hence, a network of HylaFAX+ servers can "load balance" and
"least-cost route" jobs between them in very inventive and imaginative
ways to accomplish better throughput, deliverability, and so forth.

Consider a deployment of a HylaFAX+ server at an office that can route
it's outbound faxes out through multiple on-line fax services all based
on various bits of intelligent decision-making.

Anyway, that's just one of the features in HylaFAX+ that came about
after that "differences" page was last updated.

Take a look at the ChangeLogs for the HylaFAX+ releases and then look at
the same for the hylafax.org releases for the same period of time. It

Bug#797861: [ITR] templates://postsrsd/{postsrsd.templates}

2015-09-06 Thread Christian PERRIER
Dear Debian maintainer,

The Debian internationalisation team and the Debian English
localisation team will soon begin the review of the debconf
templates used in postsrsd.

This review takes place for all packages that use debconf to interact with
users and its aims are:
- to improve the use of English in all debconf templates;
- to make the wording of debconf templates more consistent;
- to encourage more translations of templates.

Even if your first language is English, this process is likely to help
track down typos or errors, and improve consistency between the
debconf templates of your package and that of other packages in the
distribution.

The process involves both debian-l10n-english contributors and
Debian translators.

The details of the process are given in
http://wiki.debian.org/I18n/SmithDebconfReviewProcess.

I will act as the coordinator of this activity for postsrsd.

The first step of the process is to review the debconf source
template file(s) of postsrsd. This review will start on Thursday, September 10,
2015, or
as soon as you acknowledge this mail with an agreement for us to
carry out this process.

All parts of the process will be carried out in close collaboration
with you, and, unless you explicitly ask for it, no upload nor NMU
will happen for postsrsd.

If you approve this process, please let us know by replying to this
mail. If some work in progress on your side would conflict with such a
rewrite (such as adding or removing debconf templates), please say so,
and we will defer the review to later in the development cycle.

Thank you for your attention.

- to make the wording of debconf templates more consistent;
- to encourage more translations of templates.

Even if your first language is English, this process is likely to help
track down typos or errors, and improve consistency between the
debconf templates of your package and that of other packages in the
distribution.

The process involves both debian-l10n-english contributors and
Debian translators.

The details of the process are given in
http://wiki.debian.org/I18n/SmithDebconfReviewProcess.

I will act as the coordinator of this activity for open-iscsi.

The first step of the process is to review the debconf source
template file(s) of open-iscsi. This review will start on Thursday, September
10, 2015, or
as soon as you acknowledge this mail with an agreement for us to
carry out this process.

All parts of the process will be carried out in close collaboration
with you, and, unless you explicitly ask for it, no upload nor NMU
will happen for open-iscsi.

If you approve this process, please let us know by replying to this
mail. If some work in progress on your side would conflict with such a
rewrite (such as adding or removing debconf templates), please say so,
and we will defer the review to later in the development cycle.

Thank you for your attention.

Bug#791212: mysql++: library transition may be needed when GCC 5 is the default

`ssh coccia.debian.org dak rm -R -n mysql++` says:

# Broken Build-Depends:
gnugk: libmysql++-dev
gnuift: libmysql++-dev
opennebula: libmysql++-dev

but for some reason none of those packages has runtime dependencies on
libmysql++3. I find this rather surprising. Is it a template-heavy
library where the actual code is in headers, or something?

By running, I assume you tested the rsyslog input and output modules?

I don't have a ZeroMQ setup myself to test if the modules work
correctly. I'm fine to enable the modules as long as I have someone I
could poke if there issues with it.

I think this is equivalent. However, I think that removing table.go and
adding table.txt is linked and I would prefer if both operations stayed
at the same place. I think it is simpler for people that read the packaging.

Uploaded to security-master, thanks for preparing these updated

doesn't actually make any difference either way.

Bug#798222: metastore: Reading extended attributes values from metadata file is broken for non-textual values

2015-09-06 Thread Przemysław Pawełczyk
Package: metastore
Version: 1+20080623+debian-4
Severity: important
Tags: upstream patch

Dear Maintainer,

During implementation and tests of new dump action, I've noticed that
while non-textual values in extended attributes were properly stored in
.metadata file, retrieving them from it was simply broken, i.e.
anything beyond first null byte was zeroed.

Small quantum of solace is the fact that apparently metastore users
rarely use extended attributes or at least rarely with non-textual
values, because otherwise they would surely report such crucial bug.

Hello Julien and Thomas,

I just got an idea: since some members of the technical committee happen to be
quite knowledgable about systemd, since the proposed changes are said to be
invasive and since there is a lack of time on Julien's side (many thanks for
your work on other issues like GCC5), how about asking them for a friednly

expert advice quickly that will make all of us happy.

I stolen the bits for my hedgewars packaging
(honestly in buildds there is no "leftover config", but well, on users
machines yes, there might be!

thanks a lot for the tip :)

so let's wait for the build failures and maybe to build against gcc-5.

BTW yes, the qemu and aptitude errors are related to qemu virtualization (some
calls
are not implemented), and some DoM error :)

I guess amd64 and i386 are the two architectures that are worth a try for this
package.

Bug#798145: RFP: brial -- polynomials over Boolean Rings

2015-09-06 Thread Julien Puydt

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-scie...@lists.debian.org

* Package name: brial
  Version : 0.8.4.3
Upstream Author : brial team (ex-polybori team)
* URL : https://github.com/BRiAl/BRiAl
* License : GPL-2+
  Programming Lang: C++ and Python
Description : polynomials over Boolean Rings
The core of BRiAl is a C++ library, which provides high-level data
types for Boolean polynomials and monomials, exponent vectors, as
well as for the underlying polynomial rings and subsets of the
powerset of the Boolean variables. As a unique approach, binary
decision diagrams are used as internal storage type for polynomial
structures. On top of this C++-library a Python interface
is provided. This allows parsing of complex polynomial systems, as well
as sophisticated and extendable strategies for Groebner base
computation. BRiAl features a powerful reference implementation
 for Groebner basis computation.
 .
This project is a successor of PolyBoRi.

The PolyBori project has been re-vived as BRiAl, which is now what
sagemath uses. Parts have been rewritten, including a new
autotools-based build system, so we should perhaps start a new packaging
from scratch.

I don't plan to work on it just yet, so it's just an RFP.

command line tools. The binary package is still called python-pbalign
because it does include public python modules..

The repository on Alioth has also been renamed:
git+ssh://git.debian.org/git/debian-med/pbalign.git

Could someone sponsor this, please?

Many thanks and regards
Afif

Package: ftp.debian.org

This module is provided, at the same version, by the perl package, so
there is no need to ship this separate source package.
