Bug#307729: Bad file paths names generation for tracks that contain invalid characters

2005-05-04 Thread Dan Korostelev
Package: goobox
Version: 0.9.90-2
Severity: important
Tags: sarge

Goobox will behave unpredicatible if track title/artist/album/etc.
contains special characters like '/'. For example for hack//SIGN album
name it will create a hack directory with SIGN directory. If the
track is named something like http://google.com/; or something like
that (yeah, that's possible, I saw one), it will just hang. It is fixed
with new upstream version (0.9.91), that is in unstable right now.

Bug#307731: Can't extract to non-local folders

2005-05-04 Thread Dan Korostelev
Package: goobox
Version: 0.9.90-2
Severity: normal
Tags: sarge

The extraction path dialog provides a selection for non-local folders
(smb, ftp, and others, supported by gnomevfs), but when selecting one,
the patch entry is set to nothing and the extraction hangs. The new
upstream version (0.9.91) fixes that, so extraction to
gnomevfs-supported network paths is possible.

Bug#306166: Some packaging fixes

2005-04-24 Thread Dan Korostelev
Package: gthumb
Version: 3:2.6.3-1.1
Severity: minor
Tags: patch

gThumb watchfile points to the directory for gthumb 2.4.x, not 2.6.x.
The Debian menu has a gthumb label, that doesnt make much sense. I
suggest renaming it to gThumb Image Viewer, like in GNOME menu. I also
prepared a nicer XPM icon, converted from PNG using GIMP. (attached)

I also think the description will be nicer if it will something like
this:

Description: advanced image viewer and browser
gThumb is an advanced image viewer and browser. It has many useful
features, such as filesystem browsing, slide show, image catalogs,
web album creation, camera import, image CD burning, batch file
operations and quick image editing features like transformation
 and color manipulation.
 .
It's designed for GNOME 2 desktop environment and uses its
platform. For camera import feature, the gPhoto2 library is
 used.
 .
 Homepage: http://gthumb.sourceforge.net/

Also, the GConf scheme is installed in /etc/gconf/schemas, while the correct
directory
is /usr/share/gconf/schemas. See dh_gconf debhelper tool, that can
handle it automatically, see manpage.

Also, the /usr/share/application-registry/gthumb.applications is useless
now, it was only needed by older GNOME. New GNOME in Sarge and Sid uses
the freedesktop's Desktop Entry specification instead. The
/usr/share/applications/gthumb.desktop file defines supported mimetypes,
but to get them working, the update-desktop-database command should be
executed on postinst. The dh_desktop debhelper tool can handle it
automatically, see manpage.

You might also want to switch debian/* to CDBS and patches to
simple-patchsys CDBS module. The gnome.mk of CDBS will automatically
handle dh_desktop, dh_gconf and dh_scrollkeeper. debhelper.mk will
handle all other dh_* things.

PS There's also a new upstream version available. :)

Bug#305157: Some improvements to description, icon and watch file

2005-04-18 Thread Dan Korostelev
Package: d4x
Version: 2.5.0rel-3
Severity: minor
Tags: patch

I converted a PNG icon to XPM using GIMP and got much nicer icon
than current d4x package provides. Attached.

I also made a watch file for d4x. Currently, it thinks that rc2 is
newer than final, but I think this should be fixed by upstream, we
need to ping him about release naming. Attached.

Also I reworked the description a little:

Downloader for X is a powerful graphical download manager.
It supports both HTTP and FTP protocols and has nice graphical
user interface, though some actions can also be performed using
 the command line.
 .
Among others, its key features include proxy and SOCKS5 support,
recursive downloading, wildcard matching, download scheduler,
 multiple download queues and more...
 .
 Homepage: http://www.krasu.ru/soft/chuchelo/

Also, didn't you think about switching debian/* of d4x to CDBS and
simple-patchsys? I think it's not very nice to patch program sources
by .diff.gz instead of applying debian/patches/ at the build time.

Thanks!

Bug#305207: gnome-art: grave?

2005-04-18 Thread Dan Korostelev
On Tue, 2005-04-19 at 10:35 +0900, Miles Bader wrote:

Maybe this bug should be severity grave -- it seems to render the
package essentially unusable; _every_ theme type I tried caused
gnome-art to crash with the same error at one point or another (usually
downloading the initial list; in the case of gtk engines, hitting
 preview did it).

That's because of art.gnome.org change: they added all old content that
doesn't have valid thumbnail URIs. And gnome-art has no exception
handling for that. I already prepared a patched package and now I'm
waiting for my sponsor to upload it. I also contacted upstream author.
He said, he will release a new version as soon as possible. It will
contain, among this bugfix, the much-requested caching feature and
installing window and application themes.

Can you please test it once again with latest unstable GTK+ and GNOME?

Looks like it works again here.

Thanks.

Bug#214707: Here's the new .desktop file

2005-04-16 Thread Dan Korostelev
I prepared the desktop entry file that is freedesktop.org compilant. The
entry doesn't show up in the menus, but it's used for MIME handler
assigning. I think this is the right way, because there's no use
launching wine from menu. Place it in the /usr/share/applications and
latest GNOME and KDE will get this. Note, that you need to do
update-desktop-database to update the mime cache. It's in
desktop-file-utils IIRC. Thanks! And please, remove the old .desktop
file in /usr/share/applnk!

Bug#304989: Obsolete .desktop file

2005-04-16 Thread Dan Korostelev
Package: lynx
Version: 2.8.5-2
Severity: minor
Tags: patch

Lynx installs a desktop entry file in obsolete format and in obsolete location.
Today, both GNOME and KDE (and others should, 'cause it's a de-facto standard
now)
supports freedesktop.org's desktop-entry and menu specifications. So I prepared
a
standard-compilant .desktop file for lynx. Place it into
/usr/share/applications. Also you should add something like these to the
postinst script (or just use dh_desktop):

if [ $1 = configure ] which update-desktop-database /dev/null
21 ; then
update-desktop-database -q
fi

This is needed to update the MIME cache, because lynx is registered as a
handler for HTML files.

Finally, you should remove the old .desktop file in /usr/share/applnk/.

Thanks!

Bug#304397: Obsolete desktop file

2005-04-12 Thread Dan Korostelev
Package: d4x
Version: 2.5.0rel-3
Severity: minor

D4X has an obsolete desktop entry file in obsolete location (for GNOME
1). But Debian Sarge/Sid doesn't have GNOME 1 anymore, so I prepared a
shiny new desktop file for GNOME 2 (and I guess KDE and probably others,
because IIRC, that is freedesktop.org desktop entry standard). Place it into
/usr/share/applications and remove old one in /usr/share/gnome/apps/Internet/.
Feel free to send it to upstream of course.

Thanks for maintaining this piece of software!

nautilus-sendto

I think, HAL's default storage policy should add quiet mount option to

But many GNOME programs have documentation in help/ subdirectory of
