Bug#1070184: Acknowledgement (gnome-maps: Unable to start gnome-maps)
I see that gnome-maps is now in version 46.11 in testing. I have tried that version and the bug is now fixed. So as far as I am concern this bug can be closed. Thank you!
Bug#1070184: gnome-maps: Unable to start gnome-maps
Package: gnome-maps Version: 46.0-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable X-Debbugs-Cc: cqu...@arcor.de I have recently upgraded my Debian testing and it comes with gnome-46.0-1. I am using XFCE 4 desktop and when I try to start gnome-maps nothing happens. From the command line nothing happens, it seems like frozen and after exactly 10 seconds the prompt returns but no window has appeared. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.6.15-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=es_ES:es Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages gnome-maps depends on: ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.40.0-4+b2 ii geoclue-2.0 2.7.1-2+b1 ii gir1.2-adw-1 1.5.0-1 ii gir1.2-gdkpixbuf-2.0 2.42.10+dfsg-3+b3 ii gir1.2-geoclue-2.0 2.7.1-2+b1 ii gir1.2-geocodeglib-2.0 3.26.3-6+b2 ii gir1.2-glib-2.0 [gir1.2-gobject-2.0] 1.78.1-15 ii gir1.2-gtk-4.0 4.12.5+ds-3 ii gir1.2-gweather-4.0 4.4.0-1 ii gir1.2-pango-1.0 1.52.1+ds-1 ii gir1.2-rest-1.0 0.9.1-6+b1 ii gir1.2-secret-1 0.21.4-1+b1 ii gir1.2-shumate-1.0 1.2~beta-3+b1 ii gir1.2-soup-3.0 3.4.4-5+b1 ii gir1.2-xdp-1.0 0.7.1-5+b1 ii gjs 1.79.3-1 ii libc62.37-18 ii libcairo21.18.0-1+b1 ii libglib2.0-0t64 2.78.4-7 ii libglib2.0-bin 2.78.4-7 ii libgtk-4-1 4.12.5+ds-3 ii libjson-glib-1.0-0 1.8.0-2+b1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.52.1+ds-1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.52.1+ds-1 ii librsvg2-2 2.58.0+dfsg-1 ii libshumate-1.0-1 1.2~beta-3+b1 ii libxml2 2.9.14+dfsg-1.3+b3 gnome-maps recommends no packages. gnome-maps suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
Bug#1038952: debsecan: Change also the default to the installed release
Package: debsecan Version: 0.4.20.1 Followup-For: Bug #1038952 X-Debbugs-Cc: cqu...@arcor.de Hi, in addition to adding support for newer suites I think it would make sense to default to the suite from which this package has been installed, if that's possible. The problem I see with the current behaviour is that you get an email with an awful long list of CVEs which are not relevant to the current installation. That can easily lead to users ignoring the list completely or removing this package. I was actually going to do that when I realized that it is possible to have some reasonable settings. Bug#1060232: calamares: Installing in an LVM volume renders installation unusable
Package: calamares Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: cqu...@arcor.de I have tried to use the calamares based installer from the ISO image debian- live-12.4.0-amd64-xfce.iso and selected a LVM volume to make the installation. Bug#1030779: Also broken in sid
BTW, this is also broken Debian sid. In that case the installed starlette is 0.31 but fastapi 0.101.0 requires starlette<0.28.0,>=0.27.0. It would be nice to fix this before Ubuntu 24.04 picks up this problem. Thanks!
Bug#1030779: python3-fastapi has a metadata dependency on starlette=0.22.0, while Debian bookworm ships 0.26.1
An update on this after bookworm is already out: it seems that this is still broken but in a slightly different variant. The version of fastapi shipped now is 0.92, whereas the starlette version is 0.26.1. The metadata for fastpi has a requirement that is not satisfied: $ grep starlette /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/fastapi-0.92.0.dist-info/METADATA Requires-Dist: starlette<0.26.0,>=0.25.0 Using a minimal LXD container I could reproduce the issue by installing a package with pip that depends only on fastapi: $ apt install python3-fastapi python3-pip python3-venv $ python3 -m venv --system-site-packages test_venv $ . ./test_venv/bin/activate $ pip install fastapi-restful-extension Collecting fastapi-restful-extension Using cached fastapi_restful_extension-0.4.2-py3-none-any.whl (6.6 kB) Requirement already satisfied: fastapi>=0.78.0 in /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages (from fastapi-restful-extension) (0.92.0) Requirement already satisfied: pydantic!=1.7,!=1.7.1,!=1.7.2,!=1.7.3,!=1.8,!=1.8.1,<2.0.0,>=1.6.2 in /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages (from fastapi>=0.78.0->fastapi-restful-extension) (1.10.4) Collecting starlette<0.26.0,>=0.25.0 Downloading starlette-0.25.0-py3-none-any.whl (66 kB) 66.4/66.4 kB 929.9 kB/s eta 0:00:00 Requirement already satisfied: anyio<5,>=3.4.0 in /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages (from starlette<0.26.0,>=0.25.0->fastapi>=0.78.0->fastapi-restful-extension) (3.6.2) Installing collected packages: starlette, fastapi-restful-extension Attempting uninstall: starlette Found existing installation: starlette 0.26.1 Not uninstalling starlette at /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages, outside environment /root/test_venv Can't uninstall 'starlette'. No files were found to uninstall. Successfully installed fastapi-restful-extension-0.4.2 starlette-0.25.0 So pip recognizes that the situation is inconsistent. As before, pip check would complain: $ pip check fastapi 0.92.0 has requirement starlette<0.26.0,>=0.25.0, but you have starlette 0.26.1. I am not sure which should be the best course of action. I can think of two possible options: - Relax the constrain in the metadata to allow also starlette <=0.26.1. This might be a bit hacky, but it seems that the shipped starlette 0.26.1 is actually working fine with the shipped fastapi 0.92, at least from a test I did with one small application that uses fastapi. - Update the fastapi version to 0.94. This one introduces support for starlette >=0.26.0. I have also tested the combination of 0.94 installed from pip with starlette 0.26.1 from the bookworm repository and it seems to work.

However in Debian 11 doing that ends up with a version of setuptools which is different and older than the system one: $ dpkg -l python3-setuptools ii python3-setuptools 52.0.0-4 all Python3 Distutils Enhancements $ pip list | grep setuptools setuptools 52.0.0 $ python3 -m venv --system-site-packages my_venv $ . ./my_venv/bin/activate pip list | grep setuptools setuptools 44.1.1 It seems that this is due to the too-old wheel provided by the python-pip-whl package: $ ls /usr/share/python-wheels/setuptools-44.1.1-py2.py3-none-any.whl I am not sure whether it is guaranteed to be like that, but my expectation is that the pip and setuptools versions int the venv matches the system ones. Bug#1000793: bind9-dnsutils: dig command fails with "`fd > STDERR_FILENO' failed" when run from a XFCE4 desktop applet
This turned out to be a bug in xfce4-genmon-plugin. For the record, this is the bug report: https://gitlab.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-genmon-plugin/-/issues/19 And this is the patch: https://gitlab.xfce.org/cquike/xfce4-genmon-plugin/-/merge_requests/1 This is included in xfce4-genmon-plugin 4.2.0 released recently (https://docs.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-genmon-plugin/start#latest_release).
Bug#831413: Similar to 1000793?
Hi, it looks to me as this is a similar symptom to https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1000793, since it is also related to standard input. If so, then the fix has been merged: https://gitlab.xfce.org/cquike/xfce4-genmon-plugin/-/merge_requests/1 The fix is part of the recent release 4.2.0 (https://docs.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-genmon-plugin/start#latest_release), so it would be great to get that fixed for bookworm.

Bug#1031923: d-i.debian.org: testing (bookworm): Unable to boot due to unsupported FEATURE_C12 in e2fsck
Thank you for the answer. Good to know that it is a known issue and is being taken care of. Regarding why I took that image. I just followed the official Debian webpages: https://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/index.en.html From there I clicked on "Official CD/DVD images of the "testing" distribution (/regenerated weekly/) <https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/>" https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/ -> amd64 -> iso-cd -> https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/amd64/iso-cd/debian-testing-amd64-netinst.iso So from my perspective I wasn't using a "random" image, but rather an official one, as the web pages indicate. Best regards, Hi, Andrew, please use reply-all, to reply to the bug and to the bug submitter. A list-only reply doesn't quite help… Andrew M.A. Cater (2023-02-25): I have installed Debian testing (bookworm) from one of the latest ISO images (https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/amd64/iso-cd/debian-testing- amd64-netinst.iso from 2023-02-21) and after an apparently succesfull installation the system cannot be booted. Enrique, thanks for the report. We've published an official release one week ago. I'm not sure why you're not using that instead of a random weekly build. This is a known issue - try using the Alpha 2 installer in which this issue is not present. The e2fsprogs mismatch with grub is likely to be fixed by reverting problematic versions. No, the problem here is that e2fsck is from testing, while the filesystem has been created by mke2fs from unstable, and the former doesn't know about a new feature turned on by the latter. Cheers,

Bug#1030779: python3-fastapi has a metadata dependency on starlette=0.22.0, while Debian bookworm ships 0.23.1

It looks like fastapi pip metadata requires starlette==0.22.0, and hence the python3-starlette package installed with apt (which is 0.23.1-1 in bookworm) does not satisfy that and it needs to install it in the venv. I believe the problem lies within file /usr/lib/python3/dist- packages/fastapi-0.89.1.dist-info/METADATA: ... Requires-Dist: starlette==0.22.0 ... Bug#1006500: Missing bnx2x firmware 7.13.21.0 renders NIC unusable with Linux 5.16
Package: firmware-bnx2x Version: 20210315-3 Followup-For: Bug #1006500 X-Debbugs-Cc: cqu...@arcor.de I have this problem when installing a server using the netinst ISO image. I then tried with the firmware image from here https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unofficial/non-free/cd-including- firmware/11.5.0+nonfree/amd64/iso-cd/ but it does not work because it ships with version 20210315-3, which does not contain bnx2x/bnx2x-e2-7.13.21.0.fw, which the installer insists on installing. I workarounded the issue repackaging the ISO image adding version 20221109-2 from bookworm and then it finally worked. Bug#1000793: Info received (Bug#1000793: bind9-dnsutils: dig command fails with "`fd > STDERR_FILENO' failed" when run from a XFCE4 desktop applet)
I have tracked it a bit more using the git code of bind9 under https://gitlab.isc.org/isc-projects/bind9. It seems that in the v9_16_22 branch the problem started to happen with this commit: * commit ef1d909fa96479e6c4832e2e76f3ce3912cab930 | Author: Evan Hunt | Date: Wed May 12 17:17:05 2021 -0700 | | backport of netmgr/taskmgr to 9.16 | | this rolls up numerous changes that have been applied to the | main branch, including moving isc_task operations into the | netmgr event loops, and other general stabilization. Just in case this is useful...
Bug#1000793: bind9-dnsutils: dig command fails with "`fd > STDERR_FILENO' failed" when run from a XFCE4 desktop applet
Hi, thanks for looking into this! It might be that the source of the problem is in xfce-plugin-genmon, but I traced down when this started to fail: it was after an upgrade from bind9-libs 1:9.16.15-1 to 1:9.16.22-1~deb11u1. So something in that upgrade changed the behavior in dig.
Bug#1000793: bind9-dnsutils: dig command fails with "`fd > STDERR_FILENO' failed" when run from a XFCE4 desktop applet
Package: bind9-dnsutils Version: 1:9.16.22-1~deb11u1 Severity: normal X-Debbugs-Cc: cqu...@arcor.de I am experiencing a weird bug in which the dig command fails when run as part of a shell script executed inside the XFCE4 "Generic monitor" plugin. The error message is: dig: ./src/unix/core.c:570: uv__close: Assertion `fd > STDERR_FILENO' failed. Aborted It looks like something doesn't like that the stdout or stderr is not managed by the terminal. The command I am running is: dig @resolver4.opendns.com myip.opendns.com +short -4 As a way to reproduce it: add the "Generic monitor" plugin to a xfce4 panel and in the properties set the command to the one above. Is I run the command in the terminal then everything is fine. -- System Information: Debian Release: 11.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable- security'), (400, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-9-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU threads) Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=es_ES:es Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages bind9-dnsutils depends on: ii bind9-host [host] 1:9.16.22-1~deb11u1 ii bind9-libs 1:9.16.22-1~deb11u1 ii libc6 2.31-13+deb11u2 ii libedit2 3.1-20191231-2+b1 ii libidn2-0 2.3.0-5 ii libkrb5-3 1.18.3-6+deb11u1 ii libprotobuf-c1 1.3.3-1+b2 bind9-dnsutils recommends no packages. bind9-dnsutils suggests no packages.

Bug#988762: matrix-mirage: Upgrade to version 0.7.0 or higher
Package: matrix-mirage Version: 0.6.4~dfsg+~hsluv1.0.0-4 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: cqu...@arcor.de Dear Maintainer, The version matrix-mirage currently in testing is 0.6.4. It is a great matrix client that works very reliable. However there is an important feature for a messaging app that is missing: desktop notifications. This seems to be now available in the new upstream version 0.7.0 (https://github.com/mirukana/mirage/releases/tag/v0.7.0). It would be great to have this newer version in bullseye for a quite capable matrix client. I think there is one more reason to include 0.7.0 in bullseye: the configuration has changed (https://github.com/mirukana/mirage/blob/master/docs/CONFIG.md) and it seems that there is no automatic migration from the old settings.json configuration to the new one. That would probably make more difficult to have a smooth transition in the future when matrix-mirage is upgraded in Debian, while still being tolerable in testing. -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_FIRMWARE_WORKAROUND Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages matrix-mirage depends on: ii libc6 2.31-9 ii libgcc-s1 10.2.1-6 ii libqt5core5a5.15.2+dfsg-5 ii libqt5gui5 5.15.2+dfsg-5 ii libqt5qml5 5.15.2+dfsg-4 ii libqt5quick55.15.2+dfsg-4 ii libqt5quickcontrols2-5 5.15.2+dfsg-2 ii libqt5widgets5 5.15.2+dfsg-5 ii libstdc++6 10.2.1-6 ii libx11-62:1.7.0-2 ii libxss1 1:1.2.3-1 ii python3 3.9.2-2 ii python3-aiofiles0.6.0-2 ii python3-appdirs 1.4.4-1 ii python3-blist 1.3.6-7+b1 ii python3-cairosvg2.5.0-1.1 ii python3-html-sanitizer 1.9.1-2 ii python3-lxml4.6.2-1 ii python3-magic 2:0.4.20-3 ii python3-matrix-nio 0.16.0-1 ii python3-mistune 0.8.4-4 ii python3-pil 8.1.2-1 ii python3-pymediainfo 5.0.3-1 ii qml-module-io-thp-pyotherside 1.5.9-2+b3 ii qml-module-qt-labs-folderlistmodel 5.15.2+dfsg-4 ii qml-module-qt-labs-platform 5.15.2+dfsg-2 ii qml-module-qt-labs-qmlmodels5.15.2+dfsg-4 ii qml-module-qtav 1.13.0+ds-3+b2 ii qml-module-qtgraphicaleffects 5.15.2-2 ii qml-module-qtquick-controls25.15.2+dfsg-2 ii qml-module-qtquick-dialogs 5.15.2-2 ii qml-module-qtquick-layouts 5.15.2+dfsg-4 ii qml-module-qtquick-shapes 5.15.2+dfsg-4 ii qml-module-qtquick-window2 5.15.2+dfsg-4 ii qml-module-qtquick2 5.15.2+dfsg-4 Versions of packages matrix-mirage recommends: ii fonts-hack 3.003-3 ii fonts-roboto-unhinted 2:0~20170802-3 ii qt5-image-formats-plugins 5.15.2-2 matrix-mirage suggests no packages.

If I remove completely file /etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.akonadiserver then akonadi seems to try to start, although then I get other mysql problems which probably should go in a different bug :) -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.8.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_FIRMWARE_WORKAROUND Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages akonadi-server depends on: ii akonadi-backend-mysql4:20.04.1-2 ii libc62.31-3 ii libgcc-s110.2.0-7 ii libkf5akonadiprivate5abi2 [libkf5akonadiprivate5-20.04] 4:20.04.1-2+b1 ii libkf5akonadiwidgets5abi1 [libkf5akonadiwidgets5-20.04] 4:20.04.1-2+b1 ii libkf5configcore55.70.0-1 ii libkf5coreaddons55.70.0-2 ii libkf5crash5 5.70.0-1 ii libkf5i18n5 5.70.0-1 ii libqt5core5a 5.14.2+dfsg-6 ii libqt5dbus5 5.14.2+dfsg-6 ii libqt5gui5 5.14.2+dfsg-6 ii libqt5network5 5.14.2+dfsg-6 ii libqt5sql5 5.14.2+dfsg-6 ii libqt5widgets5 5.14.2+dfsg-6 ii libqt5xml5 5.14.2+dfsg-6 ii libstdc++6 10.2.0-7 akonadi-server recommends no packages. Bug#947009: libssh-4 v9 breaks tmate when you have a ssh config that uses a custom port
Package: libssh-4 Version: 0.9.3-2 Severity: important Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? I have a custom ssh_config [1] that defines a not default ssh port. When using tmate. Tmate cannot connect to ssh.tmate.io because libssh version 9 I think doesn't parse correctly the ssh_config, it tries to use the non default port instead of the port defined for *.io. Bug#899261: ITP: qasm-simulator-cpp -- C++ quantum circuit simulator with realistic noise
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Enrique de la Torre <indisoluble_...@me.com> * Package name : qasm-simulator-cpp Version : 0.5.1 Upstream Author : QISKit Development Team <qis...@qiskit.org> * URL : https://qiskit.org/ * License : Apache-2.0 Programming Lang: C++ Description : C++ quantum circuit simulator with realistic noise QASM Simulator is a quantum circuit simulator written in C++ that includes a variety of realistic circuit level noise models. The simulator may be run as a command line application to evaluate quantum programs specified by a Quantum program OBJect (QObj). It is part of QISKit (Quantum Information Software Kit), developed by IBM. The simulator is currently distributed as part of open source QISKit Python SDK. By making it into a Debian package, I will be able to integrate it in other frameworks like QISKit Swift Framework. Also, if we simplify the installation process, it will be a lot easier for other developers/researchers to use it with different purposes. The package is already under development here: https://github.com/indisoluble/qasm-simulator-cpp-debian-pkg

Bug#837623: [firefox-esr] text with background in the HTML is printing without it
I found an option that allows this. In the printing pop-up window there is an "Options" tab with a checkbox that allows printing of the background. I guess this ticket can be closed. Sorry for the extra noise.
Bug#836556: menu entries with no icons
After some updates in my Debian testing it looks like version 4:16.08.3-1 is now properly setting the icon in the system tray. Still there might be some issues with the icons, since there are some entries in the application menu which don't show an icon. For instance the "Delete Wallet" entry under the "File" menu has no icon, whereas in Jessie there is a trash icon for that.

Bug#683731: backupninja: rsync helper badly quotes the --delete option ->still not fixed in Jessie
Hi dear maintainers I agree with Jessie Rose Lee in that this bug remains in Jessie. I am using backupninja 1.0.1-1. I think I found & resolved the bug, but I'm no professional developer, and even I know git and other tools, my knowledge about bug solution protocols is scarce and theoretical. So I'm not sure on how to proceed, please send me corrections if you deem it for send this solution correctly. I will quote to show my point. From BASH man page, in Arrays Section, you can read "(...)Any element of an array may be referenced using ${name[subscript]}. The braces are required to avoid conflicts with pathname expansion. If subscript is @ or *, the word expands to all members of name. These subscripts differ only when the word appears within double quotes. If the word is double-quoted, ${name[*]} expands to a single word with the value of each array member separated by the first character of the IFS special variable, and ${name[@]} expands each element of name to a separate word. When there are no array members, ${name[@]} expands to nothing. If the double-quoted expansion occurs within a word, the expansion of the first parameter is joined with the beginning part of the original word, and the expansion of the last parameter is joined with the last part of the original word. This is analogous to the expansion of the special parameters * and @ (see Special Parameters above). (...)" >From /usr/share/backupninja/rsync I show lines 1130-1147, but inmediate >interest is in lines 1139 & 1141: for SECTION in $include; do prepare_storage set_orig set_batch_mode set_filelist set_dest info "Syncing $SECTION on $dest_path..." debug $nice $rsync ${rsync_options[@]} $filelist_flag $excludes $batch_option $orig $dest_path set_pipefail $nice su -c "$rsync ${rsync_options[@]} --delete-excluded $filelist_flag $excludes $batch_option $orig $dest_path" | tee -a $log check_rsync_exit_status $? restore_pipefail update_metadata done I replaced, in lines 1139 and 1141, expression ${rsync_options[@]} by ${rsync_options[*]} This is: because of its behaviour when in double quotes (as stated above in the quoted excerpt of BASH man page), I changed the expansion character that indicates the array to expand to all of its members. Since then, I can use the rsync handler without any trouble. I not sure, but I think that other patch proposed (bug #683371 in debian & backupninja bug #4019) will be unnecesary with this correction. Bug#811218: [Pkg-utopia-maintainers] Bug#811218: network-manager overwrites /etc/resolv.conf when a DHCPv6 lease is renewed
Yes, that´s the whole content of the file. That´s a good point, there is no sign of Network Manager being the responsible of the rewritten file... These are the files I have under /etc/network/if-up.d: avahi-autoipd ethtool openssh-server upstart avahi-daemon mountnfs openvpn wpasupplicant The avahi-daemon file looks like it is actually calling /usr/lib/avahi/avahi- daemon-check-dns.sh which might be responsible for that. I will investigate further. Thank you! Bug#811218: network-manager overwrites /etc/resolv.conf when a DHCPv6 lease is renewed
Package: network-manager Version: 0.9.10.0-7 Severity: normal Tags: ipv6 I have defined the following NetworkManager wired connection: [ethernet] duplex=full [connection] id=Wired connection 1 type=ethernet [ipv6] method=auto dns=2a00:e10:1000:10:4386:102:67:53; ip6-privacy=1 [ipv4] method=auto dns=78.138.102.67; Before connecting to the network the /etc/resolv.conf looks like: $ cat /etc/resolv.conf # Generated by NetworkManager Just after connecting to the network the file looks like: $ cat /etc/resolv.conf # Generated by NetworkManager search cm.cablesurf.de cm.cablesurf.de. nameserver 195.234.128.12 nameserver 195.234.128.9 nameserver 78.138.102.67 # NOTA: el resolutor de nombres de libc puede que no soporte más de 3 servidores de nombres. # Puede que los servidores de nombres listados abajo no se reconozcan. nameserver 2001:4c50:6:4000::12 nameserver 2001:4c50:6:4000::16 nameserver 2a00:e10:1000:10:4386:102:67:53 This is just fine, but only 10 seconds after that the file now looks like: $ cat /etc/resolv.conf nameserver 2001:4c50:6:4000::12 nameserver 2001:4c50:6:4000::16 and the IPv4 server has dissapeared together with the custom additional nameservers. Looking at journalctl I can see that this happens just after NetworkManager renews the DHCPv6 leasing: ene 16 22:14:19 NetworkManager[799]:domain search 'cm.cablesurf.de.' ene 16 22:14:19 NetworkManager[799]:nameserver '2001:4c50:6:4000::16' ene 16 22:14:19 NetworkManager[799]:nameserver '2001:4c50:6:4000::12' ene 16 22:14:19 NetworkManager[799]:address 2001:4c50:2cd:1400:5e26:aff:fe7e:b485 ene 16 22:14:19 NetworkManager[799]:preferred_lft 30 ene 16 22:14:19 NetworkManager[799]:valid_lft 60 ene 16 22:14:19 NetworkManager[799]: (eth0): DHCPv6 state changed renew6 -> renew6 ene 16 22:14:19 dhclient[32373]: RCV: Reply message on eth0 from fe80::c627:95ff:feb0:f03. ene 16 22:14:19 dhclient[32373]: XMT: Renew on eth0, interval 9520ms. ene 16 22:14:19 dhclient[32373]: PRC: Renewing lease on eth0. The DHCPv4 leasing is on the other hand every 10 seconds, which is the value I set up in my router. For some reason the router doesn´t honor that value for IPv6 leases. The fact that NetworkManager modifies the DNS resolver is causing problems since the IPv6 resolvers are much slower and I loose the custom resolvers. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_ES.utf8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages network-manager depends on: ii adduser3.113+nmu3 ii dbus 1.8.20-0+deb8u1 ii init-system-helpers1.22 ii isc-dhcp-client4.3.1-6 ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u1 ii libdbus-1-31.8.20-0+deb8u1 ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.102-1 ii libgcrypt201.6.3-2 ii libglib2.0-0 2.42.1-1 ii libgnutls-deb0-28 3.3.8-6+deb8u3 ii libgudev-1.0-0 215-17+deb8u2 ii libmm-glib01.4.0-1 ii libndp01.4-2 ii libnewt0.520.52.17-1+b1 ii libnl-3-2003.2.24-2 ii libnl-genl-3-200 3.2.24-2 ii libnl-route-3-200 3.2.24-2 ii libnm-glib40.9.10.0-7 ii libnm-util20.9.10.0-7 ii libpam-systemd 215-17+deb8u2 ii libpolkit-gobject-1-0 0.105-8 ii libreadline6 6.3-8+b3 ii libsoup2.4-1 2.48.0-1 ii libsystemd0215-17+deb8u2 ii libteamdctl0 1.12-2 ii libuuid1 2.25.2-6 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian13+nmu1 ii policykit-10.105-8 ii udev 215-17+deb8u2 ii wpasupplicant 2.3-1+deb8u3 Versions of packages network-manager recommends: ii crda3.13-1 ii dnsmasq-base2.72-3+deb8u1 ii iptables1.4.21-2+b1 ii iputils-arping 3:20121221-5+b2 ii modemmanager1.4.0-1 ii ppp 2.4.6-3.1 Versions of packages network-manager suggests: ii avahi-autoipd 0.6.31-5 pn libteam-utils -- no debconf information
Bug#784378: Preparing a NMU
Hello Lisandro, I prepared some days ago a new package for new upstream version of Fritzing to fix the bug reports of package. I asked to Georges to review it and upload if he consider it. Yes. This is really awkward. The error message you quoted seems to indicate that you had a different 10apt-listbugs configuration file when you experienced the issue... Let me elaborate a bit: the error message you quoted talks about sub-process /usr/sbin/apt-listbugs apt || exit 10. This is the process that exits unsuccessfully. If your /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/10apt-listbugs invokes /usr/sbin/apt-listbugs apt, it looks as if something else invoked /usr/sbin/apt-listbugs apt || exit 10 ... Could you please run $ grep -r exit /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/ and paste the output in your reply? Also, do you have a /etc/apt/apt.conf file? If so, please run $ grep exit /etc/apt/apt.conf and paste the output in your reply. Please let me know. For some reason the env var APT_HOOK_INFO_FD is getting value 0. How is the env var setted? This environment variable is set by apt-get (or compatible package managers, such as aptitude) before invoking apt-listbugs. The value is set in the option: DPkg::Tools::Options::/usr/sbin/apt-listbugs::InfoFD 20; Hence, it should be 20 in your case. Let me add something else more akward, after reinstalling 0.1.11 version again (this maybe the 4th), now the bug is not reproduced any more. My only explanation is that, as you said, for some reason config file was not properly installed in some installations. After upgrading/downgrading cycles the config file was finally properly installed. Anyway, thanks for your great and fast help.

I can't open my projects, trying to load them crashes always with same backtraces (Parser::blabla) Updating/installing libkasten* to 4.10 in experimental, libsublime* 1.4 from ubuntu and kdevelop 4.4 from ubuntu solved the problem. Bug#696958: description
Sorry for the malformed body of the bug. Here is the description of the bug: When using the spanish locale, the shortcuts listed under the menu 'Go' ('Ir' in Spanish) don't work. Bug#696958: closer inspection
After a bit more of testing it seems that the problem is a bit more complex than expected... In order to reproduce the error the following conditions must be met: 1) Run it under XFCE (I am using the official Debian wheezy version 4.8.3-2) 2) Configure more than one keyboard layout under XFCE (In item Keyboard in the configuration tool). 3) The first defined keyboard layout is not the default one. In my case I have four defined keyboard layouts in this order: Spanish, French, English (EEUU) and German. The default now is English, but I have checked that using the Spanish keys for + and - (which corresponds in US keyboard to ] and / keys) I get the desired behaviour in akregator. So in summary the problem seems to be that the keyboard shortcuts used by akregator are mapped using the first listed keyboard layout by XFCE, rather than the actually used. I have also checked that the same behaviour happens to kmail, so it seems to be a common problem of KDE applications under XFCE. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#696958: akregator: Keyboard shortcuts +,-,P,N to navigate through articles don't work
I am using akregator stand alone. As I said in my previous comment the problem appears within a XFCE session. Other shortcuts work, but I am afraid that it is because the mapping in the keyboard is the same for us and es layouts. I use these shortcuts (and others of menu items of the Go menu) myself from time to time, and I don't remember them not working (and just tried them again now). Do other shortcuts of the Go menu (e.g. Left/Right for previous/next article), or other menus, work for you? Are you running akregator as standalone application, or as part of kontact? Thank you! Is there any chance that the fixed version of virt-manager enters the squeeze repositories in the future? Bug#627241: opensc: please package OpenSC 0.12.1
Hello, I've been working with Juan Antonio Martinez[1] aka Jonsito (main developer of LGPL version Spanish DNIe driver[2] for OpenSC) and also with CENATIC[3] (a spanish public fundation that promotes the Libre Software) to package their version for Debian and Ubuntu. So, I make progress packaging OpenSC version 0.12.x. You can get all my work from our forge[4]. I created a branch[5] to develop a package for OpenSC without the spanish driver until the main project adopts it in mainline development. This adoption is expected in the next version 0.12.2. I thought to ask for a sponsor at debian mentors to share my work but this bug report arrived early ;) [1] http://oasis.dit.upm.es/~jantonio/ [2] http://opendnie.cenatic.es/ [3] http://www.cenatic.es/ [4] https://svn.forge.morfeo-project.org/opendnie/packaging/debian [5] https://svn.forge.morfeo- project.org/opendnie/packaging/debian/branches/opensc -- Enrique Hernández Bello qui...@osl.ull.es Oficina de Software Libre -- http://osl.ull.es Vicerrectorado de Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicaciones Universidad de La Laguna Teléfonos: +34 922 84 5071 / +34 922 316 502 extensión: 5071 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
