I'm sorry I won't have time to retry a new packaging upload for Strawberry. I 
already have a lot to fix on other packages I maintain and I miss time.

So anyone who want to go on on this is welcome.

If I remember there where no big issues or blocking points left but all the 
copyrights need to be well rechecked. For some files it's also a bit tricky 
because some headers have been rewritten since the fork of Clementine (it's 
forked from amarok...). So the main job left should be to ensure the copyright 
file is really completed and accurate.

And as I'm not a DD I can't help for sponsoring so you will have to find one.

Hi Dmitry,

I just uploaded a new version of clementine disabling projectm for now 
because I have also others issues related to its integration. I need a 
bit of time to work on this.


So for now the new version of clementine I uploaded include a new 
upstream version (small, 1 bugfix), a change of the repacking method 
and no depend on projectm so it should be ok to build on all arch.


And I will keep an eye on it for the migration to testing.

It seems like you have several library packages coming from an 
non-official repository (probably deb-multimedia). This can lead to many 
crashes and unknown behaviors.


Please retry to run clementine with only clean and up to date Debian 
dependencies. If after that you still have constant crashes feel free to 
reopen this issue.

Hi,

I just spend 1 hour of time debugging my sound playback to finally
discover it was just the timidity package that get the sound device blocked.

Hi Sebastian,

I can't reproduce your issue. I also try to reproduce it by installing
clementine on a fresh sid system and I can play mp3 and flac files.

Can you try to make a backup and remove all possible config directories
located here `~/.config/Clementine{-new/-qt5}`, do an upgrade of your
system and then retry after that?

Also could you give me more info about your system and your desktop
environment as I can try to reproduce your issue.

Actually the program prompt a dialog asking the user if he want to install the 
extra plugin.
But yes maybe it should be more explicit about the non-free nature of the

Hi Apollon,

I did not experience any issues since I changed disk_aio to native and
disk_cache to none on all instances and it was 3 weeks ago.
So I believe you can close this bug now.

Beside that, maybe these parameters should be the new default in the
ganeti package or maybe directly in qemu-kvm package?

Otherwise I will put this tips somewhere in the debian wiki maybe that
could help other people.

Yes and anyway qt4 will be removed from unstable soon and we can't wait
for an official release. So I'm working on packaging this branch but I
have 2 blocking issues:

1. This branch depends on the qt5 version of libmygpo-qt library which
need to be updated in Debian too [1].

2. This branch still depends on libqxt which will be removed from
unstable too because it is based on qt4 and unmaintained since 2014.
Clementine upstream basically patched and embedded some parts of this
library but we can't use that in Debian.

The first issue could be fixed be packaging the new version of
libmygpo-qt library which is compatible with qt5. Or by disabling the
GPO module.

The second issue is more complex because as upstream project is dead I
can't continue to maintain libqxt and port all the code to be compatible
with qt5. I think the best solution would be to patch Clementine to not
use libqxt anymore but some piece of qt5 code instead. I'm working on it.

Thank you for your answer. I will try this setup and I give you a

I also forgot to say I already set disk_cache to 'none' for all
instances. Is it the right option to use along with disk_aio 'native'?

Dear Ganeti maintainers,

I get random freeze on kvm guests in a Jessie Ganeti cluster.

Last time it happened 2 times on the same guest at one week of interval.
Each time the guest only give ping response but nothing more and it get
back to work only after a `gnt-instance reboot`.

I did not find trace or error in log files in the guest or in the hosts.

I use ganeti and drbd packages from jessie-backports and kvm and kernel
packages from jessie archive.
The guest is a Debian Wheezy system but it got trouble on Debian Jessie
guest too.
One month ago I already post a bug report against the linux package
about disk lock on some Jessie guests in the same cluster:

In that cases I got something on the guests kernel logs so maybe it's a
different issue, maybe not…

Any idea of how I can troubleshoot this issue?
Is there any log file to see the output of qemu-kvm for each instances?

There is nothing in the logs (kernel.log, system.log,…) on the hosts.
Hosts and guests both use a stable Jessie kernel.
This report come from the guest having this issue.

The hosts have 256G of RAM and SSDs disks in a hard RAID10 and use
qemu-kvm 2.1+dfsg-12+deb8u6, drbd-utils 8.9.5-1~bpo8+1.

Some people talk about decreasing vm.dirty_background_ratio and
vm.dirty_ratio that could help:

Please remove libechonest. This library is now obsolete because it
depends on an external API (Echonest API) that no longer exist.

Clementine, a music player packaged in Debian, used this library in the
past but not anymore.
As far as I know, no more packages depend on it in unstable and testing.

I also warned users in the NEWS.Debian few months ago.

I think this patch fix this issue by using a random and unique temporary
directory directly at the root of the `tmp/` directory.

I get something like this `/tmp/x-x-x--/…` instead
of `/tmp/flightcrew/…`.

@Adam, I tried many migrations and I still could not reproduce your bug.
I still think that this is caused by a special use case of forcing a
sink device in the config file or something like this.
So before I get more information about your configuration, I'm lowering
the severity of this bug and retitle it because it only affect a
particular configuration case.

@Dio, I confirm with your screenshot that your issue sound like a
missing Gstreamer plugin story and it's not related with this issue.
Please open a new bug with all informations needed: what file are you
trying to play, what is exactly the error message you got.

In Stretch/Sid there are no Gstreamer0.10 and there are no Gstreamer
ffmpeg codecs anymore. The equivalent package you are looking for is
probably gstreamer1.0-libav. But this is only a set of optional plugins,
not a depend.

In fact, maybe you have the same gstreamer error message but I think you
have a totally different issue. And you are using unofficial
repositories like www.deb-multimedia.org which are known to be very
buggy and to cause breakages with many official packages.

So, don't hesitate to open a new bug report but please retry first with
a clean system without any unofficial package.

I think this is related to your other report #823301 about new alsa
routing limitation. And I suspect that only people which manually
changed their configuration files to achieve special audio output tweak
are affected.

Could you attach a copy of your config files before you purge it and the
new one re-generated by Clementine?

Yes, it seems that clementine get a lot of troubles (including crashes)
using the current version of taglib in Debian but this is not a
build-depend issue and clementine is not the only package affected.

The source of the problem is just that the version 1.9.1 of taglib is
very buggy and that we need a newer version to be packaged in Debian.

There is a bug report against the taglib package here and I already post
on it:

The best you can do to help is find a way to reproduce the bug you talk
about and next open a new bug report against clementine. Next we will

The first time, clementine start normally in foreground. So you can change the 
config at this moment.

In case of you get stuck in background, the only solution is removing the 
'.config/Clementine/' directory and clementine will start again in foreground.

I can see 2 problems in your logs:

1. a missing codec issue: "Missing decoder: MPEG-4 AAC"
2. a output sink issue: " error:
Jack server not found"

The first issue is maybe just due to the lack off mpeg-4 aac codec in
gstreamer-good and ugly plugins packages.
Could you try to play other files type like mp3, flac, wav normally
playable only with gst good and ugly plugins packages and show me the
result?

The second issue seems like clementine try to use the jackaudio server
output instead of alsa.
Could you try to install gstreamer1.0-alsa and eventually manually
select the alsa output in 'Tools -> Preferences -> Playback -> Output

I'm working on this issue.

For now, I'm doing some tests in a minimal sid environment but the
results are not clear enough and I need more info.

I tried with the "bad" plugins and without them (because this is the
subject of my bug) but I still get the same message : "Missing decoder:

Your tagreader error seems related to protobuf too. I just rebuild
clementine with GCC-5 and protobuf rebuild with GCC-5 too and it seems
to works. But I have to install all the fresh protobuf packages and not
only libprotobuf9, maybe this is why you got this linking issue?

I used a very standard installation process using almost all default
installer value and choosing the `gnome desktop environment` option.

Gdm3 starts correctly after applying jmullee's path correction in
`/usr/share/gdm/greeter/autostart/caribou-autostart.desktop`.

shinken-common.postinst

Yes, I confirm that it solve the first start issue.


- We probably need to mask the shinken service, as this is a
bad-designed initscript which start all daemons from the same cgroup.
See #740942 for a similar problem


I agree and I think there is an other side effects to this.
For example when I execute a restart of all individuals services with 
`services shinken-* restart` all daemons successfully restart and seem 
to be alive but shinken checks seems to be stopped and never happen 
anymore.
I solve this issue by restarting again only the poller (wait some time) 
and then the arbiter. After that shinken checks reworks correctly.
So I think there is also something bad about the order/concurrency when 
all daemons start.


Maybe this could help you solving this issue.

After a reboot, the `service shinken` command seems to work but I get 
back the same strange behavior than before with individual and grouped 
services started.

After that I reboot and all Shinken services seems to run correctly.

So I think that something is missing in install process about services 
activations.

I can't reproduce your bug. I test on minimalist testing/jessie
environment without pulseaudio packages installed (only gstreamer alsa)
and I can play mp3 and ogg files without any troubles.

Could you still reproduce this bug after last upgrades?

Could you play mp3/ogg files with other music player that use gstreamer
plugin too?

It would help if you can test this issue on a similar setup but on an
other system than a powerpc.

Song informations appears correctly when a song is played for me.

For some songs the informations are not available. Have you try with a
common artist and correctly tagged songs?

You seem to use jessie/testing. Could you retry with the last version of

and on a HP keyboard and it works fine. I checked this on fresh Wheezy
and Jessie systems.

handle the media keys shortcuts. What desktop manager are you using?

 The problem here is that upstream uses both qtsql and sqlite.
 The real fix for this is to just use sqlite thus allowing proper
 dynamic linking.

According to the upstream bug tracker and by the commit 4c23072bef9,
Clementine developers seems to finally fixed this bug.

I will try to test and backport the fix in the next revision of the package.

(pacemaker/corosync debian packages) And this issue still relevant on
Squeeze and Wheezy.

And I think Simon is right: the upgrade process must check the existence
of a running server and the rc.d configuration before try to
killing/restarting it.

Otherwise this issue should not be merged with bug #675250 because I
think its not exactly the same problematic.

(~900MiB) and resident memory size used by clementine stay under 140MiB
even if the moodbar is enabled. Can you still reproduce this issue on
Jessie or only on unstable?

This could be also caused by an other component of your system I
haven't. Is there anything special in the way you accessing this large
file? (ex: special storage)

I use a per-user MYSQL database to store bayes tokens.
I set `bayes_auto_expire 0` and `bayes_expiry_max_db_size 15`.
I run a cron to force bayes expiry for each users like this:

It seems that sa-learn try to reduce the tokens numbers but finally skip
the expire process because it couldn't find a good delta atime.

I try to reduce or increase the 'bayes_expiry_max_db_size' but it
doesn't fix the issue and the tokens numbers continue to grow out of the
15 limit.

Is it an issue or maybe I misunderstood something?
Should I mannualy purge old tokens using something like `DELETE FROM
bayes_token WHERE bayes_token.atime = ...`?

First, could you check if Clementine is not just minimized in a tray
icon. (ex: tray icons are hidden at bottom-right of your desktop with
gnome3)

Otherwise, could you give me more information about your system? For
example using the usual reportbug tool: `reportbug --template clementine`.
Next time don't hesitate to use this template directly on submit.

Clementine upstream sources default use an embedded old version of
sqlite3 library: 3.6.19 released in 2009. But in Debian we must use the
official sqlite3 package: 3.7.13 in Wheezy and 3.8.0.2 in testing/sid.

It seems that the last sqlite3 upgrade to 3.8.O.2 caused some troubles

 Yes - this is a debian packaging bug.
 
 They either need to switch STATIC_SQLITE=ON or ensure that the qt4
 sqlite plugin is built with all the sqlite3 symbols visible.
 
 This is not something we can fix.

If you set `STATIC_SQLITE=ON` you use the embedded version of sqlite3
and not the libsqlite3 Debian package. So this is not a good solution
for us in a Debian context.

 I tried to reproduce your steps and now it is correct. I used advanced
 group settings and changed that last time to confirm your initial
 question. Now I followed your procedure and first put it on album/artist
 and then back to advanced grouping artistalbum and sorting is correct.
 Maybe some old values in the config file.

 data of my audio files and therefore stopped adding VA. Now I can
 continue updating this. Any idea which value is default, VA or Various

I don't think there is a default value for this tag but many times I

I still can't reproduce your bug.

That's what I try:
1. import some albums in the library
2. right-click on the library - set group option to artist/album

The result is just like you want:
* Artist1
  + Album1
  + album2
* Artist2
  + album1
  + album2
[...]

 But this does not happen. The following happens:
 
 Various Artists
 VA album1
 
 Michael Jackson
 Bad
 Thriller

Have you check meta-tags of your medias? Maybe your Va albums is
incorrectly tagged with no artist name or something like that.

 allthough clementine 1.1 should support moodbar it doesn't work.

Yes, I simply don't build the package with the moodbar support for this
revision.

 ..deb packaged for ubuntu it works, so there are no missing dependencies.

The official ubuntu package is always derived from the package in Debian
unstable archive. If you talk about the package provided by upstream
developers, this package use many depends as bundled libraries.
In Debian we must use real system-wide depends if they exist in the archive.

 By the way: you ship 1.1.0-rc in experimental allthough 1.1.1 is the current
 upstream version. I would appreciate it if you package the current version.

I just work on this [1]. I want to make some tests before but I plan to
upload a new revision of the package in experimental soon which
include the last upstream release and moodbar support.

Yes, libqxt use a custom configure script and it does not include the standard 
dpkg build flags but there is no side effect on 'march' and 'mtune' build 
options.
So, I will retitle this bug to configure script does not consider the standard 
dpkg build flags.

 this: please analize it! may

 and flags set tune to host cpu detected, and not a arch made.

During the build I got 'march=i586' and 'mtune=generic' which are the
default build values define by GCC for the x86 arch in Debian.
There are related discussions here : [1].

I still have a look on the generated makefiles and there is no special
build flags related to 'march' or 'mtune' generated by qmake. The
package seem to use the default build flags from gcc.

Could you send some results of your 'ps -lxaw | grep mtune' commands?

I also notice that you does not have the last revision of the package
installed on your system. Could you upgrade your package and retry to
reproduce this issue then?

I can't reproduce your bug.

There are 3 different shuffle mode. I try to open an album as a playlist
then I switch to Shuffle all, then back to Don't Shuffle and switch
to Shuffle tracks. Each configurations seem to work as expect.

Would you mind to give more info your issue like for example which
shuffle mode you used?  Do you switch to a shuffle mode using the menu
Playlist- Shuffle mode ?

I could not reproduce this bug.
I just run clementine on a fresh wheezy install with no issues.
I also test on 2 others debian system : first running unstable and
second runing  an up to date wheezy.
On all of these systems libglew1.7 is installed.

Can you check if you have some special libraries or clementine versions
installed on your system (for example out of the debian repository)?
Do you have special graphic drivers installed on your system?

I will make more tests on other systems to try to reproduce your bug but
this is strange and maybe something was wrong with your system.

Hello Stefan,

I talk about this issue with Mikel Olasagasti an upstream developer and
he plan to fix it but he can't do it until the end of the month.

Meantime he advice me some quick fixes like simply disabling FPM
exporter or warn about is it an insecure format.

Finally I choose to totally disable it because I think there is a big
mistake in the generated xml which does not seem to respect the FPM
format specification.

So I done this by set 'importer', 'exporter' and 'encryption' var to
'False' in 'src/lib/datahandler/fpm.py' file.

It's a quick fix but it satisfy the security issue.

I attached a debdiff and a git-format patches.

Bug#680389: gvfsd-afp consumes lot of cpu

Dear Maintainer,

I notice that gvfsd-afp daemon consumes lot of cpu.

htop says :

* cpu : 100%
* command : /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd-afp --spauwner :1.4
/org/gtk/gvfs/exec_spaw/8

I noticed this issue just after I use nautilus to access to a shared
directory but maybe it is not related to this issue.

I set priority to 'important' because this issue disturb the whole
system usage and never stop until I reboot.

Dear maintainers,

I begin to use kdevelop for my php developments and it works great on
Wheezy. Thanks for your work!

The last missing thing I need to got the perfect php dev environment is
xdebug support and I found a git repo [1]. I built it and test it and it
works.

Do you plan to add this plugin to kdevelop in Debian archive soon?
If you have no time for this I can try to package it myself.

 The clementine dev said
 that the Spotify plugin will build without libspotify and then
 clementine will take care of the non-GPL parts.

I understand but I can't add new build-depends on Clementine
package just for building a plugin which depends on a proprietary
software. I think this is not a valid reason considering the Debian
guidelines.

Considering the Debian Free Software Guidelines, Debian is a operating
system build under a coherent free software context. I don't want to
encourage people using an external proprietary library. This can cause
side effects on Clementine (and on other packages) that we will not be
able to solve.

Instead of that, I prefer encourage people who works on a free
implementation of this library : 'libopenspotify'. [1] [2]
Maybe Clementine will be able to use it in the future.
