Bug#1057484: pelican: "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'watchfiles"
Had a quick look at the Debian package and it seems that all tests are disabled. In my opinion, this is a very good example of why tests at build (and in autopkgtests) are important. How do you know the package you're shipping isn't broken without tests? (you don't know, that's why there are tests :D). I would thus strongly suggest you to run tests, or at least part of the testsuite if some locale-specific tests are unhelpful. Bug#1024166: blist: dead upstream, no maintainer upload since 2015
Package: src:blist Severity: serious X-Debbugs-CC: s...@debian.org Hi, The blist package, currently team-maintained by the Debian Python Team, has not been updated by its maintainer since 2015. 4 uploads fixing either important bugs, or making sure it respects the DPT policy have been made since then. As such, I consider this package is not currently maintained by anyone, and thus violates the DPT policy. Moreover, blist is dead upstream: no commit has been made to the project since 2014. This is problematic, as we are now carrying patches for Python 3.9, 3.10 and 3.11. As such, I don't think this package should make it to Bookworm. It probably should eventually be RMed too. I'm CC-ing Sebastien Delafond explicitly, as he seems to be the maintainer of all the packages in the archive that depend or build-depend on blist (python-raccoon, python-panwid, elastalert). In a perfect world, those packages should migrate away from blist in time for the freeze. If not possible, it would be nice if it could have an active maintainer again. Bug#1011970: downgrade nrepl ftbfs bug
severity 1011970 normal thanks I'm downgrading this bug for multiple reasons: 1. nrepl-clojure 0.9.0-2 has a patch that skips the tests that fail on i386 and armhf. This should let it migrate to testing. 2. The actual issue seems not to be with nrepl, but with something we're doing with the dependencies it uses. The failing tests are testing how dependencies are loaded and we're doing things quite differently in Debian than what upstream does. 3. I don't think just skipping the tests is an issue, as: 3.1 There is probably very few people using Clojure on i386 and armhf 3.2 It is not clear that tests failing mean something is actually broken So this is still very much a bug, just not a very severe one IMO. -- ⢀⣴⠾⠻⢶⣦⠀ ⣾⠁⢠⠒⠀⣿⡁ Louis-Philippe Véronneau ⢿⡄⠘⠷⠚⠋ po...@debian.org / veronneau.org ⠈⠳⣄

Bug#1000716: python3-pony: fails on Python 3.10 with "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'parser'"
Package: python3-pony Version: 0.7.14-1 Severity: serious User: debian-pyt...@lists.debian.org Usertags: python3.10 Hello, It seems the current version of ponyorm is broken on python3.10. If you look closely at the logs from the latest DebCI run [1], it outputs (without failing): > Sorry, but pony 0.7.14 requires Python of one of the following > versions: 2.7, 3.3-3.9. You have version 3.10.0+ Actually running pony on 3.10 outputs something like: == ERROR: tests (unittest.loader._FailedTest) -- ImportError: Failed to import test module: tests Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python3.10/unittest/loader.py", line 154, in loadTestsFromName module = __import__(module_name) File "/<>/tests/__init__.py", line 11, in from . import base File "/<>/tests/base/__init__.py", line 10, in from .test_cli import CLITestCase File "/<>/tests/base/test_cli.py", line 14, in from pony.orm import db_session File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/pony/orm/__init__.py", line 3, in from pony.orm.core import * File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/pony/orm/core.py", line 18, in from pony.thirdparty.compiler import ast, parse File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/pony/thirdparty/compiler/__init__.py", line 24, in from .transformer import parse, parseFile File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/pony/thirdparty/compiler/transformer.py", line 32, in import parser ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'parser' This is because the parser module has been removed in Python 3.10 in favor of ast [2]. I'll suggest upstream to fail their testsuite when ran on Python 3.10. In the past, the python-mpv testsuite has indeed be somewhat flaky and we didn't run the aforementioned `test_write` test for a while because of that. I've added some more info upstream, but I don't believe this is really problematic for the debian package, so I'll patch out `test_write` again until it's fixed upstream. Bug#990872: puppetdb.jar crashes out of the box with clojure classpath error

I've just re-built libcore-async-clojure and libtools-analyzer-clojure locally and their full testsuites passes though. I've also checked, and libtools-analyzer-clojure does ship the right jar files: usr/ └── share ├── doc │ └── libtools-analyzer-clojure │ ├── changelog.Debian.gz │ ├── changelog.gz │ ├── CONTRIBUTING.md │ ├── copyright │ └── README.md.gz ├── java │ ├── tools.analyzer-1.0.0.jar │ └── tools.analyzer.jar -> tools.analyzer-1.0.0.jar └── maven-repo └── org └── clojure └── tools.analyzer ├── 1.0.0 │ ├── tools.analyzer-1.0.0.jar │ └── tools.analyzer-1.0.0.pom └── debian ├── tools.analyzer-debian.jar -> ../1.0.0/tools.analyzer-1.0.0.jar └── tools.analyzer-debian.pom Those jars do contain the right clojure files too... clojure/ └── tools ├── analyzer │ ├── ast │ │ └── query.clj │ ├── ast.clj │ ├── env.clj │ ├── passes │ │ ├── add_binding_atom.clj │ │ ├── cleanup.clj │ │ ├── collect_closed_overs.clj │ │ ├── constant_lifter.clj │ │ ├── elide_meta.clj │ │ ├── emit_form.clj │ │ ├── index_vector_nodes.clj │ │ ├── source_info.clj │ │ ├── trim.clj │ │ ├── uniquify.clj │ │ └── warn_earmuff.clj │ ├── passes.clj │ └── utils.clj └── analyzer.clj Although this package is built using the old "lets use `jar cf` to cram things in a jar manually" way instead of using leiningen directly and would certainly benefit in being migrated to it, I don't think this is a bug in puppetdb's packaging per say, but spawns from either one of those libs.
