Aleady from the beginning I checked after the mail adress (please note, I am

So I personally(!) believe, the group is making fun with us, but even then I
gave him a chance.

And again I personally(!) (and this is my very personal opinion), I think,

For me, I will get no help here for this person, just ignore it. This is my

I see very similar posts in the German language list from the last two
years but as Tobias Schwibingerr or similar - also signed by a Sophie

When I asked this question some time ago, it seems that the German language
list had concluded that this person might be a troll (or even a psychology
experiment / AI) :(

Like you, I have attempted to engage - but I think none of us will see
any change - I think the German list pays no attention / may have blocked
this user.

Hello,

I agree completely with you.

Follow this list for appr. one year now and this "person" (Michael
Schwibinger / Sophie / ???) pop up every couple of month.

He/She works always with the same "scam".

1. Came up with a simple sounding cry for help (Computer / OS destroyed
or something else)
2. React on questions for clarification with stupid and even more
confusing answers

What I notice that every popup it is a little bit better with the
answers. They stay stupid and unrelated but the are more wordy.

So I think at the moment it is a troll who works with AI to generate
some answers. But this is of course my personal opinion.

For a real psychological experiment the design of the experiment is much
to poor.

I decided for me not care on threads which are based on a message of
this persons.

The most disappointing thing is that there is no possibility to block
such "contributors". As I know. Even a block won't really help. They
might start with a new email in the same way again.

Dear all,

just received a message from the seller of the laptop.

It seems that the problem is know and the Linux-Team work on it already

e.g.

As I understand it is a bug in the Kernel itself.

Unrelated, but you could likely have got much the same effect by
simply `apt-get install xfce4`.

Yes, I think so also. Exactly therefore ordered this machine with a
Devian installed. If Debian work in general than all desktops should

I planned from begin to re-install wiht XFCE because this is my favorite

During testing of the device I note that the HDMI interface doesn't work. A

https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Thinkpad/T14IntelGen3 looks
relevant, despite being for a different specific computer; it mentions
that specific GPU and that "switch to external screen" "only works
with a non-free driver and or firmware".

Looks very similar problem.

According Synaptic following packages are installed

- firmware-misc-nonfree
- firmware-intel-sound
- firmware-realtek
- firmware-sof-signed

I assume this is the source of the i915 driver.
Uninstalled this also for trial but no difference

Those are switched in linux with "bumblebee".

If we correctly know the hardware, we can explore more. The HDMI output is
sometimes controlled by the hardware (on my desktop computer it is the driver
from the external graphic card, which in my case is also an Nvidia card).

I suppose, Intel chips and AMD chips are doing the same. However, some intel
GPU drivers are built in the kernel, others need external packages.

So, let us know more and see, if we can help.

That's unusual - Debian Stable having too *recent* software :|

FWIW, I upgraded my Debian Stable Nextcloud (26.02 via Docker) server
to Bookworm without trouble. Nextcloud is using PHP 8.2.6, but the
Docker containers seem to be providing their own PHP, since I haven't
installed any native PHP packages. This is one reason it can be nice to
run software not in the repositories via Docker.

Hi Sophie,

I'm really very pleased that it all worked for you eventually.

There were some false starts and some misunderstandings but the main
thing is that IT WORKS :)

We don't normally delete emails from the mailing lists - they are there
to explain how things happened and how solutions were found.

These emails also led to people explaining various facts about
how to use the mailing list - maybe these will help other people.

I ll send 2nd email with topoic   Delete Printer Emails.

The driver is already included in the standard debian distribution

sudo apt-get install printer-driver-escpr

Then the usual cups administration to attach driver to printer using lpadmin or

Depurar procurando segfault

2005-05-10 Thread =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Cl=E1udio?= Max

Eu rodei
gdb gaim
run

...
(no debugging symbols found)

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
[Switching to Thread -1218975424 (LWP 2393)]
0xb7f91315 in _dl_relocate_object () from /lib/ld-linux.so.2
(gdb) quit

Sempre come uns 30% dele
no topo.
(gnome), nem me importo.
invertidos... Fui ver o conceito contábil e o jgnash estava certo e
gnucash errado! Vai ver não soube avisar pro gnucash...

 Meu favorito é o kmymoney2 - embora eu use o Gnome. A versão
 quem estiver interessado.

algun otro lugar
para la celebracion :p
