Please follow these steps to update the TAN methods for your accounts after the upgrade: * in the online banking application open the settings dialog for AqBanking (varies, depending on the used application) * select the relevant user and click "Edit User" * in the dialog please click the "Get Bank Info" button (this will anonymously fetch the current bank and user parameter data from the bank's server) * in the dialog please click the "Get System Id" button (this will fetch a new system identifier and the list of allowed TAN modes from the bank's server) * after success, select a TAN method attributed with "Version 6" or higher * maybe close the dialog for now to open the "Edit User" dialog anew * in the dialog click the "Retrieve Account List" button (this will fetch the current account list from the bank's server, from now on TAN in version 6 will be used). In case you struggle with this update process, consider subscribing to the https://mailman.aqbanking.de/listinfo/aqbanking-user mailing list and ask for help (German and English language welcome). -- Micha Lenk Tue, 05 Nov 2019 21:15:06 +0100 --8<-- Is it helpful?

I installed gnucash from unstable by adding this line deb http://deb.debian.org/debian sid main (temporarily) to /etc/apt/sources.list, then running # apt update then # apt install gnucash* Following that I commented out the testing line in /etc/apt/sources.list and ran # apt update again to get the apt package database back to its normal contents for testing. Normally when using unstable like this I would alter the apt configuration to give preference to the version in unstable and / or pin the version of the package I want, but since there is no version of gnucash and gnucash-docs available in testing, I just got lazy and did nothing about that. Currently these instructions should get you version 1:2.6.18-1 of gnucash. It's working well for me. I hope one of the sharper-eyed and less lazy of the list members will give you better instructions if warranted. As I understand it, the version in experimental is not yet a good choice for someone who needs a properly functioning installation of the package. HTH, JP

Gnucash versions 2.2.9 and 2.4.10 broken in Debian Squeeze
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 After I upgraded from Lenny to Squeeze on 2012-11-30 the Squeeze main repository kept the version of gnucash which I had previously installed from lenny-backports, 2.2.9-10. That gnucash version calls for libglib2.0-0 version 2.24.0 or higher, which I assume was the version originally in the Squeeze main repository, and probably in lenny-backports as well. In any event I was able to use that version of gnucash until 2013-01-01. Later that same day I installed a number of new packages, and also some security fixes. I also tried to use the version of gnucash from squeeze-backports, 2.4.10-2, but it does not work either and returns the same segmentation fault message. I recall that in 2010, when I was upgrading from Etch to Lenny and at the same time upgrading gnucash 2.2.9 from an earlier version. On that occasion I had to recompile gnucash. Re: GnuCash 2.4.0
Since 2.2.9-10 just migrated to testing two weeks ago, any further upgrades for squeeze seem improbably by my novice estimation. But it might be worth watching for 2.4 in Sid, given that is the next version. I don't know whether gnucash/sid would get backported when squeeze goes stable. It might be worth mention on the backports mail list. I didn't find anything in experimental. -- Regards, Freeman "Microsoft is not the answer. Microsoft is the question. SUCCESS! Re: Could a Lenny upgrade break GnuCash 2.2.6-2?
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 I got the two packages compiled, added them to the local packages repository and installed them using kpackage, the KDE package manager. I then successfully opened gnucash, selected in preferences to run any past due scheduled transactions when the data file is opened, made a couple of transactions, saved the data file, closed it and opened it again. Nothing untoward happened (yet?). Thanks for your help; I could not have compiled these packages without it. My comments on the final steps in your instructions, and final questions follow. >> The changelog is more than information; it is critical for debuild >> processing. >> Add something similar to the following at the top (the syntax is very fussy) >> gnucash (2.2.9-0) stable; urgency=high >> * 2.2.6 segfaults with libglib from lenny-backports >> -- John Sullivan Sat, 27 Mar 2010 19:18:00 -0500 I added the above three lines to the changelog file as you had them. However when debuild -us -uc was running I noticed flashing by on the monitor a text to the effect that debuild did not like the format. In any event the changelog file did not end up in either package. >> Edit the control file and edit the two Replaces lines so they read: >> Replaces: gnucash-common (<< 2.2.6-3) >> Replaces: gnucash (<< 2.2.6-3) Used 2.2.6-2 instead, because this version is the one in lenny. I did not notice whether debuild complained about the -0. As for 2.2.9, squeeze has 2.2.9-6. Further questions. 1. Is it now safe do delete directory /download/gnucash? 2. To your knowledge have other Debian Lenny users found gnucash 2.2.6 broken because of the upgrade to libglib2.2.0 from lenny-backports because iceweasel 3.5.10 and acroread I think need it? I ask because I wonder whether the two packages, gnucash_2.2.9-0_i386.deb and gnucash-common_2.2.9-0_all.deb which I compiled would be useful to others. If not, would it be useful to make available off list your instructions with my updates as an odt or pdf file? I would be willing to create such a file, run it by you, and then tell the list that the compilation instructions are available from me to those who ask me for it off list. Could a Lenny upgrade break GnuCash 2.2.6-2?
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 The version of GnuCash provided with Lenny is 2.2.6-2, maintained by Thomas Bushnell. I have been using this GnuCash version for two years, but after a Lenny upgrade I did yesterday it would no longer load. Included in that upgrade was replacement of libglib2.0-0 version 2.16.0 to version 2.22.4-1 from Lenny-backports. While GnuCash 2.2.6-2 calls for libglib2.0-0 equal to or higher than 2.16.0 -- the version from the Lenny repository -- it is possible that 2.22.4 could be too advanced for GnuCash 2.2.6-2? As I see it I have two options: 1. Reinstall the 2.16.0 version of libglib2.0-0, to see whether GnuCash will install again; or 2. Install the latest stable version of GnuCash -- 2.2.9 -- to see whether it will deign to run with version 2.22.4-1 of libglib2.0-0. The disadvantages of (1) are that it may break other packages which now require libglib2.0-0 2.22.4-1 after the upgrade, and that I would have to learn how to replace a higher version of a package with a lower one without having aptitude remove all other packages which depend on libglib2.0-0. The disadvantage of (2) is that as GnuCash 2.2.9 is apparently only available in source form, and I do not (yet?) know how to compile. I would appreciate comments, advice, etc. Also, does anybody know whether GnuCash 2.2.9 is available compiled as a Debian Lenny package? Thanks - John I was able to build an installable .deb package for 2.2.9 for Lenny with the problematic lenny-backport libraries. This is what I did (adapted from our internal documentation): GnuCash 2.2.6 seg faults on Lenny when the Lenny-Backports are used for OpenOffice and IceWeasel. This is probably due to the newer libglib2. We cannot simply install 2.2.9 from Squeeze or Sid as it has many dependencies that would seem dangerous to bring into Lenny. Thus, we will recompile the 2.2.9 deb for Lenny. The procedure is as follows. Some of the steps need to be done as root Install the needed packages for building apt-get -t lenny-backports install devscripts build-essential Edit /etc/apt/sources.list by adding a Lenny Backports source repository such as the following: deb-src http://www.backports.org/debian/ lenny-backports main contrib non-free Make apt aware of the repository: apt-get update Other steps MUST not be done by root so we need another user console to do the following steps. We will need the 2.2.6 source deb to have all the various settings and options used by debian. These will be in the debian directory and is really all we need from the source deb. We will store this in gnucash-2.2.6 We will also need the 2.2.9 source tarball. We will store this in gnucash which will become the deb build directory mkdir /data/Tech/download/gnucash mkdir /data/Tech/download/gnucash-2.2.6 cd /data/Tech/download/gnucash-2.2.6 apt-get -t lenny-backports source gnucash gnucash-common We need to install dependencies and this must be done as root so return to the root console and do: cd /data/Tech/download/gnucash-2.2.6 apt-get -t lenny-backports build-dep gnucash gnucash-common Return to the user console cd /data/Tech/download/gnucash wget http://www.gnucash.org/pub/gnucash/sources/stable/gnucash-2.2.9.tar.bz2 tar jfvx gnucash-2.2.9.tar.bz2 mv gnucash{-,_}2.2.9.tar.bz2 mv gnucash_2.2.9{,.orig}.tar.bz2 - This is the name format debuild will expect cd gnucash-2.2.9 cp -r ../../gnucash-2.2.6/gnucash-2.2.6/debian ./ cd debian The changelog is more than information; it is critical for debuild processing. Install the needed packages for building apt-get -t lenny-backports install devscripts build-essential Edit /etc/apt/sources.list by adding a Lenny Backports source repository such as the following: deb-src http://www.backports.org/debian/ lenny-backports main contrib non-free Make apt aware of the repository: apt-get update Other steps MUST not be done by root so we need another user console to do the following steps. We next need to download the source and rebuild it mkdir /data/Tech/download/gnucash cd /data/Tech/download/gnucash apt-get -t lenny-backports source gnucash gnucash-common We need to install dependencies and this must be done as root so return to the root console and do: cd /data/Tech/download/gnucash apt-get -t lenny-backports build-dep gnucash gnucash-common Return to the user console cd gnucash-2.2.6 debuild -us -uc cd .. The two .deb files should be in this directory and can be installed where needed I then installed them with dpkg -i. It clearly stated it was replacing gnucash and gnucash common: jasiii:/data/download/gnucash# ls gnucash-2.2.6gnucash_2.2.6-2_amd64.changes gnucash_2.2.6-2.diff.gz gnucash_2.2.6.orig.tar.gz gnucash_2.2.6-2_amd64.build gnucash_2.2.6-2_amd64.deb gnucash_2.2.6-2.dsc gnucash-common_2.2.6-2_all.deb jasiii:/data/download/gnucash# dpkg -i *.deb (Reading database ... 191519 files and directories currently installed.) I'm not sure what to do next. Thanks again - John If you're running the stable version of gnucash, that is version 2.2.6-2. testing and unstable both have version 2.2.9-4. There is nothing in experimental or lenny-backports. One option would be to download the source for version 2.2.9-4 and build your own package from source on your stable system. Another alternative would be to install the testing version of gnucash. Another alternative would be to install the whole testing release. I can't guarantee that any of the alternatives will fix the problem, of course. :-| -- .''`. Gnucash segfaults

Thanks Andrew for you reply. That is exactly the first thing I did and unfortunately no one have a solution so far. Maybe the next thing is to try on development list. Can't retrieve online quotes with gnucash
Hi, Using GNUcash version 2.2.6 with Debian 5.0, I have the following message when I try to get online quotes for US stock exchanges: Unable to retrieve quotes for these items: NYSE:C NYSE:BAC NYSE:F NYSE:AIG NYSE:HAR NASDAQ:NOVL Continue using only the good quotes? So far, when I try to download quotes for the TSX, I don't have any problems. Does someone has a fix for this problem? Thanks Bernard

bug in gnucash(?): autosave preference window steals focus
Hello, Running Debian Testing and KDE and gnucash 2.2.6. I started to play around with Gnucash today and created a few accounts and stuff. I have noticed that some time after starting gnucash, the window would not respond yet it was not hanged (it was being refreshed). Had to kill it and restart it to interact with it anymore. Then I realized that it had opened a window for choosing autosaving preferences in the background and that window had stolen the focus from gnucash's main window. Yet that pref. window was not being shown in KDE's panel like all other windows and, consequently, there was no visual feedback from KDE that a window was asking for input in the background. I had thought these kind of annoyances were a thing of the past in Linux DE's. Have I stumbled upon a bug in Gnuash? Anybody else experience this? Thanks. -- Please reply to this list only. patch for gnucash 2.2.6-3 (was: Debian's glacial movement--a rant)

The user community can help testing the upstream fix with the current version in unstable; this may convince the maintainer to release a patched 2.2.6 package before 2.2.9 is ready. I am not a regular gnucash user, so I can only confirm that the following procedure fixes the simple test case given in the upstream bugreport (tested with version 2.2.6-3 on Sid/amd64, no guarantees, YMMV): Save this message as "gnucash-patch.txt" in a convenient working directory; you will need about 230 MB of disk space to build the patched package from source. Go to the directory in which you saved the patch and run this sequence of commands ("#" means root prompt, "$" normal user): # aptitude install build-essential devscripts # aptitude build-dep gnucash $ apt-get source gnucash $ patch -u -p0 < gnucash-patch.txt $ cd gnucash-2.2.6/ $ dch -l "+patch" (Add a comment to the changelog if you want, then leave the editor.) $ dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -us -uc $ cd .. # dpkg -i gnucash_2.2.6-3+patch1_*.deb gnucash-common_2.2.6-3+patch1_all.deb Here is the patch, according to comment #9 in the upstream bug report, http://bugzilla.gnome.org/564928 (this comment describes the change that introduced the problem; the patch below simply reverts this): --- gnucash-2.2.6/src/register/register-gnome/gnucash-sheet.c-orig 2009-04-07 10:46:23.00000 +0200 +++ gnucash-2.2.6/src/register/register-gnome/gnucash-sheet.c 2009-04-07 10:47:04.0 +0200 @@ -2367,8 +2367,7 @@ sheet->width = 0; sheet->height = 0; -sheet->cursor_styles = g_hash_table_new_full (g_str_hash, g_str_equal, - g_free, NULL); +sheet->cursor_styles = g_hash_table_new (g_str_hash, g_str_equal); sheet->blocks = g_table_new (sizeof (SheetBlock), gnucash_sheet_block_construct, -- Regards,| http://users.icfo.es/Florian.Kulzer Florian | -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Normally that's ok and apt will not upgrade > gnucash-common, but for some reason, this time it wants to upgrade > gnucash-common and remove gnucash to resolve the conflict. The basic problem is that you have a brain and apt* don't. Sometimes it's necessary to remove some packages in order to get an upgrade to go through for one reason or another. When you run a dist-upgrade or full-upgrade, apt will aggressively try to upgrade as many packages as possible, even if it has to remove a few in order to do so. This is where the brain comes in: you know the informal, contextual fact that gnucash-common makes no sense without gnucash, but apt doesn't have access to this information. So it figures that it can get another upgrade to go through by throwing away gnucash. There are weights against generally removing packages, but because apt lacks a brain they sometimes fail to prevent it from being stupid (or they just cause it to be stupid in a more conservative way). I don't know for sure what your situation is -- but I know that aptitude tries hard to avoid doing nothing on a full-upgrade, so if the gnucash-common upgrade is the only thing available it'll pull out all the stops trying to find a way to include it. I am aware that dist-upgrade can remove packages, but I thought this is only when other packages replace them. In this case, there is no replacement, only a conflict. Usually I see this state as broken with aptitude giving options to work around the breakage - often holding back or removing packages. There was no conflict given for gnucash[-common] today and aptitude/apt-get was just going to remove gnucash without prompting me for a resolution. This seems wrong, and was the point of my original posting. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

apt-get/aptitude bustage with gnucash
I have just attempted a dist-upgrade with bost apt-get and aptitude, and both of them want to remove gnucash from my system (sid). This seems to be busted. At the moment there is a new gnucash-common (2.2.4-2) but no new gnucash package to match. Normally that's ok and apt will not upgrade gnucash-common, but for some reason, this time it wants to upgrade gnucash-common and remove gnucash to resolve the conflict. gnucash-common 2.4.4-2 has the following deps: Replaces: gnucash (<< 1.8.8-5) Recommends: gnucash (>= 2.2.4-2) Conflicts: gnucash (<< 2.2.4-2) So, this conflicts with gnucash 2.2.4-1 (currently installed) but does not replace it. So why would apt remove gnucash? I thought apt was only meant to remove a package itself when another replaces it. Is this a bug in apt? BTW. I'm not looking for any solutions here - i'll just wait until tomorrow or the next day and the problem will go away. I've just never seem apt try to remove something I want installed without there being a replacement. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Re: gnucash in Sarge crashes when opening file; started after recent security updates
Thanks for your answer. But no scheduled transactions. I know I won't get much help with such an old version. That's why I asked on debian-users if someone has similar problems. Security updates where the only changes to this system. I thought if that was the reason someone might have noticed other symptoms. In the meantime I did some experiments. I found --nofile options, created a new file and tried to crash gnucash. Accounts work OK but reports (especially custom) crash. I removed all custom reports (rm -r ~/.gnucash, I forgot dpkg doesn't purge this one) and my file loaded. It complained about report not found or something but works. I only need to be careful not to leave open reports. For now moving I can't move to newer version. I couldn't get neither 2.2 nor 2.0 to build under Sarge. And I won't upgrade until I have some other (more important) stuff finished. Thanks again, Tomasz Szpakowicz -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? gnucash in Sarge crashes when opening file; started after recent security updates
Hello. I need help with gnucash 1.8.10 in Sarge. I have a gnucash file (written with the same gnucash on the same system) containing one year of data. And I can't open it. Gnucash says 'Segmentation fault'. It worked on January 2nd when I last updated it. It doesn't open now. I tried older versions of the file and they won't open too. The only thing that chanched were debian security updates. I tried to purge gnucash and guile and install them again. It didn't help. I don't know what to try next. printing troubles in sid/gnucash/gnumeric
hey gang, fully up-to-date sid. first real problem I've had in forever. Just today when I was printing some checks from gnucash I got a segfault. Gnucash crashed. After that it won't print checks anymore. It will print reports fine, but not checks. I've confirmed with gnucash upstream that report and check printing are two different things (the dialogs look different). So the symptoms: reports print just fine, checks print to a blank page. Even printing to a file and viewing it gets a blank page. Interestingly, printing in gnumeric also seems broken, but it actually produces an error in cups "foomatic-rip failed". But it will print to a file just fine. :( Its all very confusing and frustrating. Anyone else seeing this behavior? thanks A signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Hi, I just noticed that 'gnucash' depends on 'guile-g-wrap', which in turn depends on 'libglib1.2'. gnucash/libffi upgrade problems: work-around
I just did a dist-upgrade in testing and ended up unable to proceed or back up with the install, and key system services (e.g., DNS) not running. If this should happen to affect you, I finally worked around it by doing(*) apt-get -remove libffi libgwrap-runtime0-dev g-wrap gnucash The upgrade proceeded after the packages were removed, and apt-get install gnucash then installed gnucash and dependents without complaint. The new gnucash depends on libffi4, but libffi claimed some of the same files, so dpkg would not unpack libffi4. The bug-tracking system says there is no libffi; it's probably a leftover from much earlier days. libffi4 is part of the gcc-4.2 source package. If you want more details, see bug 387561. Ross Boylan (*) If you have different packages, the basic process began with apt-get remove libffi and then kept adding the packages that the resulting command complained about. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". gnucash fails altogether after upgrading xorg; maybe xfs or defoma problem?
Except for a few font problems, the xorg upgrade (from 6.9 to 7) seemed to work. During the upgrade, there were a few package problems, easily resolved using aptitude's suggestions. First it wanted to install an xfree86 package to fix things, but the second alternative was xfs, which I chose. Was that wrong? Now I cannot get gnucash to work (mission-critical problem), and both emacs and xemacs give me empty boxes for characters (workaround found). The gnucash problem is critical. I really *need* it fixed, and soon. Of course the docs are for a later version on gnucash, but it seems that either the two shouldn't conflict or gnucash-docs should be v1.8. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". There are some tricky things building gnucash right now because a lot of machines carry gcc 4.x but gwrap 1.3(?). Do an apt-get build-dep gnucash to get the 1.8.12 dependencies. Also apt-get install and then remove gnucash (unless you want to use 1.8.12 which is current stable) to get a lot of the run-time dependencies. then dpkg -l | grep guile and grep gwrap (g-wrap?). purge anything that is not 1.9x and install the 1.9x versions. then have fun building. I have successfully make distcheck'ed rev 13088 and built the resultant tarball. I'm doing this fairly regularly if you want I can send you a tarball next time I do it up. I'd be happy to make binaries if I knew how... The gnucash team is getting ready to put out 1.9.0 alpha pre-release for 2.0, so watch for that. I don't see anything being broken, but then again I might not use all the features in it. And of course it could be broken in i386 even though it is working in AMD64. gnucash in testing - no longer broken

It turns out I was almost right. It wasn't the libs, it was the composite extension in X.org which adds new visuals to the reported list. Some apps don't deal with this very well. Solution: Prevent X from enumerating the additional visuals. This is done by setting the environment variable XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS to 1. Thus, 'xmms' could be launched by saying: bash$ XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 xmms The same approach gets GnuCash running at full speed, too. Clearly I upgraded something to an incompatible version, and broke the app. I've tried downgrading selected libraries and uninstalling all visualizer plugins, to no avail. So far, XMMS is the only thing I've found that won't actually launch. I've also noted another issue with GnuCash: It's repainting its UI very slowly, as if it's using CPU-based rendering for everything. Everything seems to work fine; it's just really slow. If I had to guess, I'd say that one of the library upgrades left certain apps unable to find a compatible X visual mode, and they either abort (XMMS) or fall back to unaccelerated rendering (GnuCash), depending on the underlying libs. Any hints on getting at least XMMS running again would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hint: http://gentoo-wiki.com/TIP_Xorg_X11_and_Transparency#Enabling_shadows_and_real_transparency at the bottom: you have to set: XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 [OT] I find Xorg more trouble than it is worth, depending on your videocard and I have Nvidia cards: TNT2 and MX-440. If you set acceleration TRUE, all h*ll breaks loose. HTH H -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
