RE: [Declude.JunkMail] Strange problem
It did not come through. Then you are still filtering on those same keywords. :) Could you send the email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or maybe point to where I might find info about this in the documentation? The post was just mentioning that filters are fraught with pitfalls, and gave some examples. There's nothing in the documentation that is needed to get past this; just common sense (IE if you block "as*s", you will block "as*sas*sin"; I've added the *'s to get past your filters). -Scott --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] --- This E-mail came from the Declude.JunkMail mailing list. RE: [Declude.JunkMail] Strange problem
I have a block on the word cum in my wordfilter list and the users name is acummings. How can I block the word cum without affecting this user? That's one of the major difficulties of filtering -- words like "assassin", "Dick Hitchcock", "chardonney", etc. will get caught. Unfortunately, there isn't any way with Declude JunkMail to filter spaces before or after the keywords that you are filtering on. This is in the suggestion database, but note that it will require adding several entries to account for various punctuation. -Scott --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] --- This E-mail came from the Declude.JunkMail mailing list. RE: [Declude.JunkMail] Strange problem
Put a space after "cum " (without the quote marks, of course) in your filter file and that will keep it from catching the users name. >but one email coming in in one session addressed to two users on different >domains - still gets treated the same piece of email right? That's correct. It doesn't matter whether they are on the same domain or not (AOL uses a smart system for sending mail, and knows that both domains use the same IP address to accept mail). >Defaulting to the most restrictive? RE: [Declude.JunkMail] strange problem
The problem here is that both E-mails are expected to be treated identically in a situation like this. AOL is one E-mail to two recipients (not two separate E-mails to two recipients). And IMail also handles it as one E-mail with two recipients. So Declude JunkMail has one E-mail that you want to do two different things to, which just won't work. >is there anything I can do to prevent this situation? For this case, you could have "WHITELIST TODOMAIN domainB" in the global.cfg file, which should prevent any action from being taken on E-mail addressed to domainB. -Scott but one email coming in in one session addressed to two users on different domains - still gets treated the same piece of email right? [Declude.JunkMail] strange problem
Yesterday I had a mail come into the server. It was addressed to two people in our server - on different domains (ain't aol smart). Domain A is set to mark the subject of a spam, domain B is set to ignore everything and do no actions. Since the mail was delivered in one session - it got marked as spam for both users- This is a rare occasion, but in this case very unhandy - as domain A is my domain, and I have everything on that declude can do - and like I said, the mail was from AOL (no postmaster) - is there anything I can do to prevent this situation? Domain B user was a mailing list alias, and sure enough the mailing list subject had an ugly "SPAM:" in it. thanks Kevin --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] --- This E-mail came from the Declude.JunkMail mailing list.
