[Bug 31812] Re: No proxy support

2006-05-22 Thread holycow
actually the funny thing is it does have proxy support.

just add it in the config file manually, or add it to the server with
normal xchat and xchat-gnome will be able to use it.

i think it just needs the ui frontend for the config edit support.

[Bug 45954] Documentation gives wrong key for clearing a shortcut

2006-05-22 Thread Olly Betts
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

gnome-control-center package is version 1:2.14.1-0ubuntu11

The help for Keyboard Shortcuts Preferences in the latest dapper
preview says:

  2. Press the new key or key combination you want to assign to the
action.

To clear a shortcut, press Escape. The action is now marked as
Disabled.

To cancel assigning a shortcut, click elsewhere in the window or press
Escape.

This is incorrect - it should say To clear a shortcut, press
Backspace. As the next line says, Escape actually cancels assigning
a shortcut.

[Bug 44620] system crashes when the screen resolution is changed and dual head is enabled

2006-05-22 Thread Douglas
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Dapper locks up when screen resolution is changed when dual head
mode is enabled. It will also lock up when the user logs out. This is
very close to bug #31516 which was fixed. Disabling dual head mode stops
the lock up. It works fine in breezy.

My graphics card is RV350 [Mobility Radeon 9600 M10] (ati)

To reproduce this bug one would need to
$sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
$sudo aticonfig --initial=dual-head

[Bug 44828] Re: Evolution looses some mails on the way from the inbox to the screen

2006-05-22 Thread Blue
The mail are on the disk in that directory. In my screenshots you can see :
1. Evolution shows only one mail in the WEBDAV - the initial mail in the
thread that also has some replies.
2. I viewed the mbox file with mcview and i focused exactly on one of the
replies in that thread, so it can be seen that the mail exists but evolution
does not display it. It could be a charset problem, but I'm not sure. Please
tell me if you need other details.

Thank you.

[Bug 39098] Re: thinkpad: volume button weighting

2006-05-22 Thread tenshu
sorry sebastian, i didn't want to be rude.
I'm french and i can't say that i'm fluent.
So please apologize me if i used an inapropriate tone.

I understand that people have different opinions, but how could you be sure
that in this case you are representing the majority?
I think this debate went too fast and we should make a poll or something this
kind to be sure this approach is the right one.

But youre right this is a minor issue when you're considering the whole
dapper drake release

[Bug 45962] Context menu opened when a window edge is left-clicked

2006-05-22 Thread Brad Pitcher
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: metacity

When I click on any edge of a window with the LEFT mouse button, the context
menu is opened as if I had right-clicked. This does not occur if the window is
locked against the bottom edge of the screen.
Not sure how to reproduce this. It was happening with firefox, making it
difficult to resize the window. Then it happened with a vncviewer window
(during the same gnome session) and it stopped happening with firefox. Then I
closed vncviewer and it's not happening anymore.

[Bug 39098] Re: thinkpad: volume button weighting

2006-05-22 Thread Sebastien Bacher
no problem, but no need to be so verbose on the issue. We understand
your concern but we get hundreds of bug mails a week and we can't spend
hours on such details or do a poll for every bug where people disagree.
We have to make priority and make decisions quickly on what requires to
be worked for dapper or not. We decided that one is not a topic where we
should spend time when we still have crashers, strings not
translatables, etc...

[Bug 45950] beagle integration with nautilus cannot be disabled by the user

2006-05-22 Thread Jeff Fortin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libbeagle0

I am beagle enabled, and it took over nautilus (they are integrated together).
It's pretty cool, but now I have a question for you guys: would it be possible
to still
* have beagle
* have a beagle-capable nautilus
* but also have a gconf switch I can toggle to disable the beagle integration?

If I want to use beagle, I will use beagle. Otherwise, when I do ctrl-F
in nautilus, I WANT to use gnome-search-tool. Because it just has some
plain advantages over the beagle concept (like not needing any indexing
prior to searching).

[Bug 45979] duplex printing of ps files

2006-05-22 Thread Tyrnan
Public bug reported:

When printing postscript files with evince it seems as if duplex settings of
both driver and printer are circumvented. Each time I try to print a ps file
with evince it comes out printed single sided. Printing pdf on the other hand
gives the expected resulted printet double sided. This cannot be an issue with
my printer driver, because if I print ps using for instance gv the outcome is
always double sided if the printer is set to print double sided.
I use a HP LJ4200 as a network printer. As described above all other apps work
as expected so I consider this as a bug in evince. I use the driver from HP.

I'm not very happy with the latest netstatus icons. On top of the

difficult to see the status of the remote compuer.

The rest of the artwork is great, though!

[Bug 45962] Re: Context menu opened when a window edge is left-clicked

2006-05-22 Thread Brad Pitcher
Sorry, very difficult is definitely an exaggeration. However, it is
certainly annoying to attempt a click-drag and to be accosted with a
menu. After you realize you won't be allowed a click-drag, you then
find the resize item in the menu. Even if you expect this behavior, it
requires two clicks instead of a click-drag. No one shares my
sentiments?

[Bug 41423] Re: After successfully completing the Add Printer setup, no printer is added

2006-05-22 Thread Pascal De Vuyst
This was a problem in Dapper a while ago but should be fixed now.

What versions of cupsys, gnome-cups-manager and cupsys-driver-gutenprint are on
your system?
You can see these by entering the following commands in a terminal:
$ apt-cache show cupsys
$ apt-cache show gnome-cups-manager
$ apt-cache show cupsys-driver-gutenprint

I can add the Epson Stylus C88 printer using LPT#1 port (just as test
since I don't have this printer) on my up to date Dapper 20060522.

2006-05-22 Thread Adam Gregory
I can confirm this bug. If deskbar is in my panel configuration, the
panel will not load completely, and does not respond to clicks. Killing
deskbar-applet returns the panel to normal, but there is no way of using
deskbar. If I try adding deskbar-applet to a running panel, deskbar-
applet is started, but nothing appears on the panel. The rest of the
panel works fine until it is restarted. I don't use the freenx server,

[Bug 31775] Re: Ubuntu should have better links to support options

2006-05-22 Thread Ricardo Pérez López
Carlos, those strings (Online Documentation, Community Support, and
so) are fully translated into Spanish since several days ago (maybe six
or seven, at least):

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/dapper/+source/gnome-panel/+pots
/gnome-panel-2.0/es/+translate?offset=345

However, the translations of those strings are not in the .mo file, so
the System-Help is not translated in my Spanish desktop (except System
documentation).

I'm using the last updated langpacks from
http://people.ubuntu.com/~pitti/langpacks/daily/

What is it wrong?

[Bug 46051] Broken gnome-panel translations

2006-05-22 Thread Ricardo Pérez López
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

There is something really wrong in the gnome-panel translations.

First of all, in the Add to panel dialog, there's some strings that
are translated into Spanish weeks ago, and since last langpack updates
from pitty[1] they appears in English.

For example, (you can also directly drag and drop items onto the
panel): is translated into Spanish as (también puede arrastrarlos y
soltarlos sobre el panel): (as you can see in [2]), and that
translation is in the .mo file:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ $ strings -e S
/usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES/gnome-panel-2.0.mo | grep soltar
(también puede arrastrarlos y soltarlos sobre el panel):

And second, the System-Help submenu is fully translated into Spanish
several days ago (as you can see in [3]) but the translations are not
applied. They appears in English yet.

[Bug 46062] Holding down shift causes weird behavior switching tabs w/ keyboard

2006-05-22 Thread Joseph Garvin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

1. Open a gnome-terminal
2. Open a couple of tabs, and ls a few directories or cd to a different place
in each so they're visually distinguishable when you switch tabs
3. Press Ctrl+Pageup and Ctrl+Pagedown a few times and see that everything
works nicely.
4. Now press Shift+Ctrl+Pageup and Shift+Ctrl+Pagedown, and you will see that
the contents of the terminal won't actually change, even though which tab is
selected along the top is @_@

Shift+Ctrl was the binding I had setup in Konsole before, so I
accidentally discovered this out of habit. It doesn't seem to matter
what apps you have open. Holding down shift at the same time causes the
tab to change without actually switching the terminal.
